  1. I used to pop a Synovia with rougly a clip (5 shots), now it takes two (8 to 10) (iso configuration, Trinity with 80%+ armor removed with sarpa).

The riven disposition has gone down two notches, it is not as efficient as it used to be.

I'm using a Kuva Chakkhur with 55% rad bonus now - it works extremely well, and better than my Rubico.

  2. Well - I think that's actually a good evolution.

Why ? Simply because a new R5 arcane will more or less perform as two former R3 arcanes, at roughly the same cost, but will leave a spot available.

    Examples :

    - Arcane avenger : today, one R3 arcane avenger has 14% to proc, giving +30% crit chance for 8s. The chance of at least one procing when you have two R3 equiped is 26% (ie 1 - (1-14%)*(1-14%), granting that +30% C% for 8s. In case both arcanes proc (in 14% x 14% = 1,96% of cases), then you get a +60% C% for 8s. Tomorrow, a R5 will have 21% chance to proc a +45% C% increase for 12s, which is comparable to the 26% chance of +30%/8s and 2% chance of +60%/8s.

    - Arcane grace : one R3 has 6% chance of +4%health/s for 6s. Two R3 have 11,6% chance of at least one procing. Tomorrow, one R5 will have 9% chance of +6% health/s for 9s

    - Arcane Trickery : one R3 has 10% chance of procing for 20s. Two R3 have19% chance of at least one procing. Tomorrow, one R5 will have 15% chance for 30s.

    - Arcane Energize : one R3 has 40% chance to proc +100 regen. Two R3 have 64% of at least one procing. Tomorrow one R5 will have 60% chance to proc.

    - Arcane Guardian : one R3 has 20% chance of procing +600 armor for 20s. Two R3 have 36% chance of at least one procing for +600 for 20s. Tomorrow one R5 will have 15% of procing +600 for 30s.

So, besides the Guardian case, two R3s and a new R5 will roughly perform the same. (Yes, I did not take into account the fact of the second R3 procing while the first R3 is active.)

Overall, I feel this will allow for more build variety.

  3. Il y a 8 heures, (PS4)Astralwanderung a dit :

I know the system has gone on as is for so long that many people are just used to it or don't care, and some won't resist the urge to show what pro-players they are by stating how everyone who even thinks of a change is a n00b, how they solo Tridolon in 6 minutes without equipping a frame and while washing the dishes, and blah, blah.
Also, I'm aware Eidolons aren't the fad of the day... even Liches are nearly forgotten, now that everyon is trying to milk Railjack, and Eidolons are a relic of ancient times.

    Still.

A 45 minutes window for Tridolon. Seems reasonable on paper. Less reasonable when you factor in loading times and, worse, people.

Unless you have specific friends/clan mates/whatever who do it regularly with you, you have two options: looking for a party or just hopping on the plains and joining the funny S#&$storm of random players.
Leaving aside the occasional idiot who starts insulting everyone because they aren't using the equipment he wants in the way he wants, I don't need to tell you that when you see a party made of MR 12 Rhino, MR 9 Nidus and MR 4 Mag, you already know the best that can happen will be killing the Gantulyst while you or someone else scream in chat "WAIT, GET LURES". And goodbye to the Arcanes you were looking for. For the millionth time.
But trying to form a party isn't much better; unless some sort of miracle happens, that little free time you had and wanted to use for playing, doing cool bosses, will be wasted sitting in your orbiter, looking for people until the night on the plains has gone on too much to still be able to do Tridolon.

I suppose I'm not the first to bring up these issues; has DE already said anything?

I wouldn't be as negative as you regarding public matchmaking.

I love the Tridolon fight. I have the gear and experience so I can, most of the time, solo one trio per night (this is not world record level, but I could not care less)

However, I usually go with randoms. The cases you describe -the "occasionnal idiot", the begineers with no idea what they're doing here, killing instead of capturing- happen, that's true. But from my experience, it is not the majority of the cases. Most of the time, I'd run into a decent group, with the right level of experience and gear for the fight to be enjoyable for everybody. Occasionnally a begineer or two, who's made the effort of getting intel about the fight, doing his/her part even if not with the most efficient gear. I'd say that's a good 80% of the time.

On the other hand, I don't understand why adding some time would be the solution to what you're describing. When the s**t hits the fan (meaning when you run into the occasionnal idiot, or tourists with HawaIan shirts), I usually quit the group and finish the thing solo.

  4. Interesting questions and answers.

i've been doing tridolons for quite a while now, most of the time with randoms. I just love this fight. I'm trying to have a load out that's independent from whatever other people bring.

My load out has converged to Trinity + Rubico w/ riven +CC +CD +Elec, sarpa with shattering impact, 427 amp, magus vigor and replenish for the operator, virtuos strike for the amp, and focus madurai for void strike.

I do not consider myself good at the thing, I can do a trio solo but usually not much more in the night.

    My questions are basically :

    - Rubico riven disposition has been going down steadily down to one now, I have to empty a full clip plus some more bullets to get one limb (granted, I miss quite a lot...). Wasn't the case before. This is Trinity so no damage buff (solo), but still... In the list of other candidate weapons that were put up there, did you guys actually try any ? What are your thoughts ? I hear the Chakkhur is good.

    - I'd like to try something new 🙂  Have you guys tried Limbo ? I've tried Volt, the damage output is just excellent, but I loose lures in the Gantu and Hydro phases. I've tried Vazarin to heal them (void dash), Unairu for the damage reduction (void mode) and the wisp (hard to use I think), but not quite convinced they're easy enough to substitute from Trinity blessing. Well - have you guys tried something fun different than the meta, but still reasonnably efficient ?

  5. The idea of the Lich system in itself isn't that bad, however there's way too much RNG given the amount of time it requires to complete one.

Having to farm murmurs -excluding everything else- for your third Kraken is... not fun.

Some of the rewards feel ok -can't wait to try the Kuva Kohm or the Kuva Quartakk- but some are not.

So, all in all, there is potential but a rework is needed to improve the thing.

And it's not a question about whether or not a given player is good/efficient at completing a Lich.

  6. I used CP a lot in my early days of warframe, just learning the mechanics of armor, damage mitigation, etc.

Then I discovered all the armor stripping abilities, the corrosive and slash procs, and pretty much gave up CP that day forward. I usually run a frame with armor stripping ability, or stealth, and/or weapons with either corrosive procs or slash/viral combined procs, plus any type of Aura (rejuv, ES, growing power...). An you can run any type of usual missions with a set-up like that.

This being said, I can understand that a squad would equip 4 CPs (or 3 + coaction drifts) for long runs, just to not have to bother with armor whatsoever. But I never did it myself.

  7. Well - as OP said, depends on what you like/want.

Personnally, not a big fan of Grendell, I leveled him and put him on a shelf right after, but that is just an opinion.

Is it a good use of your plat ? Not sure.

Grendell can be farmed with a squad with some smart matchmaking, can even be solo'ed with the right setup. As said above, some other frames are tougher to farm.

  8. Ok - let me rephrase -and distord- your question :

Knowing all that I know now (I'm MR25), which frames would I focus on to be able to complete most of the missions ? People will yell at me no doubt, but here is my take :

    - Trinity ; yeah I know she's old, there are better frames for some of what she does, but... healing, damage reduction, energy... she'll carry you up to Eidolon hunts.

    - Octavia : stealth will keep you alive, her damage abilities will wreck havoc. Ivara, Loki, so good too. Ash can strip armor too, on top of stealh.

    - Rhino/Nezha : because up to a point, tanking and making damage is all that it takes.

    - Saryn/Equinox/Ember : map nukers for low to mid level missions, even though Saryn is kindof the meta for ESO right now

But hey, that's already 10 warframes... So no, I have no "main" really. Depends on the job.

    Experiment, Learn, Enjoy 🙂

  9. Yeah this Lich system may use some serious improvement...

Knowing what type of weapon you are going to -completely randomly- get before having to grind for 2 to 4 hours, and then grind separately from any other game activity is not that fun, to say the least.

4 liches so far, 2 shildegs, 1 brakk, 1 seer. Not really looking forward to number 5.

  10. Yes Garuda buffs/changes made me revisit her as well - there are different schools of thought out there, and I believe the best is to try them out to forge your opinion :

The biggest question imo is to keep Garuda at low health to benefit from her passive, which makes quick thinking pretty much mandatory, or not.

Then, Natural Talent, 35% power strength for her #4, some efficiency for her #3, seem pretty much mandatory ?

And then, there is the option of spending most of your time in the air casting your #4, just for the fun of it : Steel Charge / Speed drift / Umbral Fiber / Umbral Intensify / Natural Talent / Primed Flow / Adaptation, and then Aviator / Motus Signal / Aero Vantage 🙂

Not the tankiest build by any standards, but boy I always wanted to meet an air hostess...

  11. Thanks a lot to all who contributed here, I read carefully and finally succeeded with the three missions solo, after several pathetic failures 🙂

Excavation and Survival, I did with Hildryn and a Sancti Magistar - as said above, Hildryn runs without energy, and spamming the 'heavy slam' attack of hammers deals serious AoE damage.

Defense I could not do with Hildryn, as the cryopod was taking too much damage. I did it with Wisp - the electricity Mote provides some crowd control that comes handy. I let the last attack drone alive at the end of most waves, in order to give time to replenish the life counter of the cryopod.

    A couple of things :

    - mods are taken into account in the melee weapon set up (Wiki seems to say otherwise) ; I used a heavy attack build (sacrifical steel, amalgam organ shatter, killing blow, corrupt charge, gladiator might, etc.) and it works. Same with sentinel builds (I used a Djinn with the renaissance mod)

    - the Sancti Magistar seems to heal on heavy attacks, but NOT on heavy slams. There is a thread about that, not sure if this is intended or a bug. I finally used Life Strike in the defense mission (can be used on anything else than the Sancti Magistar of course), but with the vitality mote my Wisp stayed at 600 HP pretty much all the time, so not sure if this is really needed or not.

Bottom line is 20 minutes for the survival, roughly 40 minutes for the excavation (not defending the excavators as written above, doing +20 or +40 cryotic at the time), and a good 45 minutes for the defense.

The "no mod" mode has potential I think (for nightmare missions for example), assuming that some other strategies are possible, which does not seem to be the case for the Grendel missions.

Anyway, the thing is in the foundry now, I hope it's worth it...

  12. Ok - so we've had plenty of melee changes, that disrup our old habits (spin to win, CO, etc.) and get us thinking about our builds.

My question is not about whether we like it or not. There are plenty of threads about that.

The question is : what are your thougths about zaw design and builds now ? Design for damage, crit%, stat%, hybrid ?

I've been playing with the numbers, looks like an hybrid zaw (ie about the same % for crit and status chance) can pretty much be used in every situation with good results.

HOWEVER - you can max Crit% to get absolute insane amount of damage very quick, OR you can max Status% for higher level missions...

Anyway - what are your thougths ?

  13. One of my most played frames right now.

Surivivability : vitality or quick thinking + primed flow, adaptation

One Intensity for psychic bolts to remove armor/shield/etc (25% is all it takes) + possibly the bolts augment (stuns the ennemies for 4s)

Range and Duration + chaos augment to turn the field into a giant mess 🙂

    Absorb I don't use

Some strong weapons to make damage for the 1, and to wipe out the ennemies touched by the bolts (shotgun, etc.)

  14. Tried Reave with Revenant some time ago. Build with 200%+ power strength. Supposed to take off around 20% max health at each go.

Frankly, it did not look like I was doing any damage... The red bar above the Wolf was not really moving.

    Has anyone else tried ?

  15. I recently ran Hildryn at the sortie-3 Eximus defense mission. Everybody (Chromas, Rhino...) died left and right, as Eximus lvl 110+ spawned. Hildryn did not.

I feel it is a strong, even though not perfect, warframe. Excellent vs Corpus, good vs Grineer, nearly useless vs Infested.

I run it with Adaptation, which makes a tremendous difference as it triggers on damage inflicted to the shields. You pretty much end up at 90% dmg reduction pretty quick with enemies at lvl 60+. Plus Arcane Barrier and Aegis (the shield-related arcanes).

Besides this, my current build revolves around spamming the 2, having 3 on all of the time, and occasional 4.

  16. Hum - That is going to require some serious thinking.

Either keep it for future use.

Or use it on some of my frames whose main build has Umbra mods : Trinity (Eidolon hunt), Rhino (Profit Taker), Saryn (ESO). But frankly, I feel the improvement in performance would then be minimal...maybe an Exilus slot.

So, in short : I have no idea lol

  17. Good question.

I personnally never enjoyed raids, as I was always the beginner/noob trying to keep up with the meta team trying to speed run the thing, and trying to contribute to the whole thing the best I could with little success.

For the same reason, I don't enjoy the tridolons slayer teams speed running the Cetus night, even though I can understand the search for performance. But at least, now I can solo a trio, and THAT gave me purpose and required me to strategize, get organized, craft a lot of stuff and gear, test and retry, etc. I enjoy taking new guys from the clan to trio hunting, even if we have a hell of a time finishing the damn thing 🙂

So - I'd propably enjoy a raid that, apart from the inevitable meta speed-runners, could be enjoyed by slower, less structured, groups, and could possibly be done solo after some serious research.
