  1. Typically, Octavia is never really seen on the battlefield. That is, well, she's literally not seen due to being perma-stealthed. Right now, the only viable way to play her is out of sight, out of mind, while mindlessly spamming Metronome crouching to keep that going. Personally, I hate this mentality. If music be the food of death, then I want to serve a buffet. Even though Metronome offers various buffs (that honestly don't reward the player enough for executing them properly, giving at best 70% additive multishot or melee damage to your weapons when you build solely for strength, but that's a topic for another day) the only one used is typically Nocturne. As someone who likes to actually see my Octavia fashions, I'd like to change that. What I find the most interesting about Metronome is that it grants armor to you and nearby allies, albeit minuscule. It makes you think that she was meant to have some form of survivability other than stealth, but it wasn't fleshed out enough in the final version. Seeing as that is basically the one department that Octavia is lacking in, I chose that to be the focus for this augment. So, I give you Marching Mallet.

Marching Mallet: Octavia can pick up her Mallet, carrying it with her.

25% of damage she takes is redirected into the Mallet. Can be recast to reset the duration.

No reason to be stealthed when you want to take damage, right? Marching Mallet is pretty self-explanatory: Octavia can walk over to her Mallet and pick it up, taking it wherever she goes. While she's carrying it, it'll redirect damage that she takes into the Mallet instead, similar to how Trinity's Link works. You can pick it up and put it back down just like Volt's Electric Shield works. Additionally, to prevent you from losing it when you need it the most, you can recast the ability like normal to make a new one, but if you were already carrying Mallet, you'd automatically be carrying the new one too. This would accomplish multiple goals: grant players more control over where Mallet goes, give them an alternative to hiding in the shadows all mission, have a purpose for Resonator and Mallet to be used separately instead of always in tandem, and give Octavia some form of survivability, which she currently lacks. This would also work well in a team scenario, as Mallet draws attention from enemies already, so more people would be shooting at you instead of that squishy, low-health Banshee in the corner. As well all know, Mallet gets more powerful if it's within Amp's radius, and Marching Mallet would work the same way. Its power and range would be doubled as normal, but the amount of damage redirected is doubled too, up to a cap of 75%! I see tons of people talking about making Octavia more mobile, usually by slapping Amp onto Resonator or something to that effect, but I thought, why not something more interactive than that while also matching the theme of the frame? Typically, the war banners and the sound of trumpets are in the front of the army, not the back. And besides, music is loud, and an enemy should hear it whether you're stealthed or not. So why stick the literal band-leader someplace where she can't be scene? You wouldn't be forced into a single play style with this augment either, as giving you the option to pick up the Mallet lets you decide what is better for the situation instead of locking you into becoming a suicide runner against level 150+ bombards. For balance purposes, you would be unable to stealth while carrying the Mallet, because an invisible speaker still makes sound and can still be heard, and damage would only be absorbed by enemies within Mallet's range, similar to how Equinox's Pacify only reduces damage from enemies inside its radius as well. Numbers are obviously just for example, and are subject to be changed based on DE's will.

I have so many ideas that it was really hard to make just one! Octavia is my pride and joy in Warframe; I have 14 of her in my inventory at the time of writing this! As such, I want only the best for my precious favorite, and hope that my ideas get considered. I'm glad that DE gave me this chance to speak up for once, and I hope that future augments can be discussed openly among the public as well!

  2. Mending Metrenome

Successfully activating one of Metrenome's buffs heals you and nearby allies for X% of your Maximum Health over X seconds.

This will allow Octavia to make up for the one area she lacks in for a support frame, while also rewarding skillful execution of her ability.
