  1. I know that Volt is a completely viable and at times fun frame, but to me he feels very underwhelming, visually at least. He feels less like an electromancer and more like a sentient wall socket with a thirst for blood, so if anything I want to make him look more like a lightning wielding mage and less like a zappy boi.

     

    Passive - Static Build Up
    Currently it works like that scene of family guy when Peter gets a onesie and rubs his feet on the carpet really fast to shock people.
    I would keep it fairly the same, expect I would remove the damage component and make it a battery, when the battery is maxed, he gains movement speed and an Area of Effect damage over time (small though), however it would make the next ability he casts stronger (and different), up to 3 stacks.

     

    1 - Shock -> Lightning Lance
    It would become a projectile and would have a charge component.
    Simply pressing 1 would throw a spear and it would shock an enemy, holding it would build up its damage and when it struck an enemy it would impale them and turn them into a charge for your battery and deal AoE damage.

     

    2 - Speed -> Electric Cloak
    It would do the same thing functionally, but it would make volt levitate and have him covered in electricity cause that would look cool.
    If you hold the button, it will expend a battery charge (but higher speed will mean faster battery charging), but it will also increase the strength of the bonus and power duration scaling with those respective stats.

     

    3 -> Electric Shield -> Ion Barrier
    It is still a shield that absorbs damage, but if you have a battery charge, it will be consumed (slowly) to give you a damage buff.
    But the shield isn't placed where volt is, but where he is aiming and it will work like a projectile, a slow moving projectile that is thrown from volt and stripping armor from enemies it passes through, if it is recast while aiming at an existing barrier the barrier will be pulled towards volt dealing damage to enemies if they were ionized.

     

    4 - Overload
    It would remain the same, except it would work like an explosion,  fast moving and heavy in damage, it would also make his 1 bounce between enemies while dealing additional damage every time it bounced. It would also discharge his remaining battery, with each full charge increasing the range and damage of the ability.
    Let me know what you think, it is unnecessary, but also a cool re-imagining of what volt could do.

I have sort of leeched before, ESO is amazing to level up crap so I just go there and if there is saryn I will level it in 2 rounds or 3, I don't have saryn (I'm trying to get Saryn Prime with my relics), but in that case, the saryn would be killing everything anyway so I don't think that is particularly harmful.

    Bounty and Index Leechers though, are the spawn of satan and they should feel bad.

    Also I have been building a lot of S#&$ so it means I'm kinda low on some resources (plastids and oxium) And when the infested catalyst needs plastids I'm not gonna spend them when I know for a fact that I'm going to end having to use 4 phylaxis and catalysts cause everyone else is way too good to use the resources to build them.

    Ofc the logic solution will be to bring back the "old alert system" while waiting S2 , but only DE have choice to do that.

    They don't need to bring the old system back, but it is what makes the most sense.

    But even if DE doesn't plan for a break between nightwave seasons, it might do them some good to start planning for such eventualities for other aspects of the game.

    It has been almost 3 weeks since nightwave ended (i think) and DE hasn't done anything to address this situation, the alert system is still functional, which can be seen form the gift of the lotus alerts.

    On the other hand you still have the occasional invasion that gives potatoes, which is pretty rare too. But at least I remember getting potatoes from them.

     I'm not really saying I prefer the old system, I'm just saying the new one has a very big flaw the other didn't have, which is downtime. It might be rare to get potatoes but at least you know you're getting alerts all the time and the have the chance of being something useful, there were 4 nitain alerts a day.

    All I really want is for DE to find some solution in case the downtime between nightwaves becomes habit.

    But you also need plat for slots and other crap, but it is also a fair point, the problem is that you have the free alternative just locked away every ten weeks. and farming plat for a catalyst or reactor is a really roundabout way of getting them.

Don't forget that you can fight almost every iteration of alad V and and also lech kril and Vor also corrupted Vor currently, even if the lore moved on from them, Warframe takes place in this weird superposition of events that have happened and will happen all at the same time, the lotus is gone, but also isn't so gift of the lotus aren't really up to date with the current events of the game but it doesn't need to be.

  7. I loved the Nightwave update and really enjoyed the new rewards system, it feels way more rewarding and cool than alerts were, but they also revealed a glaring issue.

    Nightwaves take way more effort than regular alerts to pull, so every 10/11 weeks we have this hole where we can't earn anything an alert could reward.

    Catalysts and Reactors and... Nitain Extract.

    I want to progress through my syndicates to get my stuff and in between getting the required standing and the credits I was going to rank up the steel meridian and I was reminded with a slap in the nuts that I need catalysts to progress through any syndicate, and without nightwaves, gift of the lotus or a wish upon a star, I am dead in the water and can't progress. I am also working to get the fluctus for the orb mother fight and I can't get it cause I'm locked from getting it. I also can't put a catalyst on the imperator to try to bootleg a build but I need a catalyst to use it on the ground, BUT I DON'T HAVE A CATALYST!

    What I mean by this whole complaint-fest is that these things are too valuable (for builds, progression etc...) to completely vanish every time a nightwave goes away. You could always just buy them for plat, but I don't think that's something DE wants to happen and neither do you. You can also get nitain from sabotage missions if you find all the caches and the 7 chaos emeralds and channel all their power to boost the drop rate by 1%, it's just not reliable.

    Maybe just bring back alerts for nitain and catalyst only when nightwaves are offline; or add it to other places where it would not pollute the drop tables and still be reliable, maybe the secret rooms in jupiter (or any other tileset)?

  9. You know that big tower in Cetus, you know, the one that has the Grineer and the Corpus in a tizzy? What does it do? Who is the Unum and what does she know?

    So beware that this is kind of spoiler territory, I want to try and create a quest that follows up the sacrifice and answer the questions remaining in this system before we move to Tau.

    Hey kiddo... remember me? (Wallie)

    The Indifference is at it again, after Rell and the events at the Earth courtyard, the Lidless Eye looks to torment you for entertainment, reminding you of all that you have done and all that has been lost.

    The Lotus is gone and Ordis can't help its master with this omnipotent trickster, but Ordis monitors the Operator and worries for the repercussions of linking with the erratic Umbra. Umbra's memories and your own are jumbled, leaving you to feel the pain that Umbra was spared from, in the end, the Indifference keeps targeting you, the one who freed his toy from his chains in hopes of squeezing every drop of despair out of you.

    The Sentient threat remains a mystery, the Lotus... Natah returned to her home and Hunhow is still biding his time to strike again. This tension is suffocating, the Tenno are truly isolated, but now a monster has infiltrated the cage and sleeps there with you, tormenting you relentlessly.

    A dreamer awake and alone without their mother is in seek of guidance for the troubles that disturb his peaceful sleep, maybe that is why Cetus becomes such an attractive place for the Tenno to be in, a place full of life unlike the cold cradle they habit.

    ----------This was a sort of introduction----------

    Quill Onkko, the Cetus quill in charge of keeping contact with the Tenno, is the Client of this quest, and you'll have to speak to him after the Sacrifice for him to express awareness of the threats you face and grants you audience with the Unum, so that she may guide the Teen-o.

    Quill Onkko: What has troubled you tenno, what is it that will have run off into the distant stars?

    Space KIDDO: I'm... not sure what I have to do, the Lotus is gone and then him... I am just so confused...

    Quill Onkko: A child without a cradle you have been, and now you're a soldier without your commander, that will be... is quite a problem, but maybe we, the quills can help you find the answer, after all the Unum protects everyone under her bosom surah.

    You are then granted access to the tower, where the quills are watching your every movement, for if they detect signs of hostility or disrespect in the Great Tower, they will work against you, Child of the Void or not.

    Random Quill guy: Tenno, you seek answers to the troubles that ail you and we seek to help, but everything has its price, to be granted audience in the Unum's Holy Chambers you must prove yourself, to show us that you are capable of receiving her blessing. Now you may enter this tower, provided you show respect along every step of the way.

    Cut into the interior of the Unum's tower, which while still gold, looks noticeable different, as it is a Living Tower, the last of its kind, the arboriform pulsate with a distinct energy and presence within the wooden veins.

    Trial number One

    The Body

    A trial to be completed with your warframe, defeat a boss, an golden infested monster bred within the tower. Monster is fast and it is big, as big as half an eidolon, but you can get it on certain parts of its body.

    Trial Number 2

    The Mind

    Operator trial, not a combat oriented trial, a series of puzzle rooms with certain enemies weak to the void, chance to obtain sentient fragments, form their studies on the Eidolons.

    The Final Trial

    The Void.

    Simply interact with the fancy meditating chair thingy and control a bunch of monsters with transference, during the trial the tenno starts to experience heavy transference static and Wallie decides to pay us another visit, invading your mind and trying to corrupt you, until the Unum blocks the attack, an affront of that gravity in her own flesh make her finish the trials and allowing the Tenno to meet her.

    A gold Eyed Woman sits at a throne, chained to it by tubes and other mechanisms, a Queen trapped in a porcelain tower. She speaks, but not from her mouth, it resonates with the tower and in your own mind, the Tenno finds themselves entranced by this presence.

    THE UNUM LADY: That "thing" has invaded your mind? So you broke the chains of the abandoned Child? Your destroyed the founder of the Veil? hmmm. So it had to be done, this one, this specific path was the one to be taken.... Well, I can tell more about the Man in the Wall, but are you sure you want to know? It drove Rell to binding himself in that shrine of blood.

    TENNO BBYS: I.... don't really know anymore, he keeps pestering me, I need it  to stop, the Lotus is missing and I need to find her.

    Unum: To find her, you need to look beyond this star, to look at the black of space, the new home-to-be of the Orokin, Tau, a journey you have been on since you boarded that accursed vessel, but you don't seem to be fit for that trial, at least not yet any way...

    First, know that I only intend to make simple additions to this concept and as this first video only speaks about kubrows, so will I.

    I would like to add passives to the kubrows and kavats, why? well I think it's a good idea since it can further individualize kubrows and kavats to make them appealing in different situations

    Kubrow Passives: 

    Huras Kubrows will be able to use the Distort Passive, Which makes it so the enemies' field of Vision is lowered, making it harder for enemies to spot you. This seems fitting and interesting enough for a stealth dog. SNEAKY SNEAK BOIS.

    Raksa Kubrows will be able to use the Converter passive which makes excess health orbs replenish shields and give overshields if at max shields, also increases overshield capacity by 25%, MAXIMUM TANKINESS.

    Chesa Kubrows will be able to use the Attune passive, receiving affinity from an enemy will increase your damage against that type of enemy for a few seconds. AIN'T I KILLED YOU SOMEWHERE BEFORE?

    Sunika Kubrows will be able to use the Prioritize Passive which will cause leader units (Capture targets, vulnerable assassination targets, Eximus) to be slowed when struck by the Sunika, melee damage will double the slow and refresh it. WHERE YOU GOING?

    Helminth Charger will be able to use the Toxic Alchemy passive, which will increase the status duration and the damage of toxin based status effects, Helminth chargers will also add the first non-toxin element in your melee and add it to its damage pool, effectively creating an advanced element (corrosive, gas, viral). GET FARTED ON.

    For now this is what I feel would be cool to see on pets but I don't know where DE wants to go with pets, my ultimate fantasy is to have both pets and sentinels out at the same time, cause I want them all on my adventures :)

    EDIT: SAHASA KUBROW PASSIVE

    Sahasa Kubrow will be able to use the Connoisseur Passive, which will increase the rarity of enemy drops by a super small amount.

  12. Well hello there, unsuspecting reader, you have stumbled upon on what may be is the most outrageous idea anyone has had in a while (I am giving myself a lot of credit because I need validation)

    So, in devstream 108 the team talked about the melee rework since they were balance passing everything in the game imaginable and they were discussing whether there should an in-depth rework of the melee combat system itself or just a balance pass like the other weapons. In the case of a melee combat 2.0 (which I am in favour of) they were arguing between a dynasty warrior feel to the game against a bayonetta feel to the game.

    A section for those who don’t know what I am talking about

    Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are action fighting hack and slash games developed by platinum games, it is popular in a very weird way, the core aspect of these games is combat which is very similar to Devil May Cry. But the reason this was brought up was because of the style of combat and how something similar would fit warframe, in bayonetta enemies are relatively tanky and require more than one hit to be killed hence combos and how to manipulate them are very useful, but once you’re engaging an enemy you stick with it until the combo ends, you get hit or you dodge away, which doesn’t coincide with the horde aspect of warframe.

    Next up dynasty warriors a game about people from Chinese folklore and history duking it out in a massive battlefield killing each other and poor dudes who just wanted to get paid. In this game, you must conquer the battlefield by securing points, but the combat is just you, your few combos and a whole lot of destruction. Because it is also a horde type game it could fit warframe like a glove, but it would fit it like a cheap glove made from fake cotton or cheap leather.

    Back to me.

    Warframe doesn’t have only swords, it also has tiny swords, Big Boi Swords, fans, hammers, polearms, frisbees, a knife that is also a gun, a gun that is also a knife, sushi knives and soon, it will have sushi knives but BIGGER.

    In my opinion, a single defined thing has never been warframe’s shtick, so marrying those ideas would probably bring about a satisfactory result if done right, right?

    So because this is a game changing conversation and if we don't make known what we want from DE, then we can't blame them for coming up with something we don't like as a community, I encourage all of your opinions no matter how minimal or absurd you think they are, this is just a discussion that is always nice to have before DE starts formulating ideas.

     

     

  13. Hi guys hope you at least enjoy the intent behind the concept if nothing else.

    So I have wanted a warframe that controls dreams, not just put enemies to sleep to sweep through them for focus so I thought of Rêves (french for dreams, creative I know).

    Rêves is a warframe made with the purpose of soothing and controlling dreams but it became more than that it became a weapon a seemingly benevolent and gentle power turned into a means of inflicting torment upon the empire's enemies, manipulating the energies of the void to induce and control the world inside one's mind, Rêves (I'm going to call him Raves cause it sounds cooler). 

    So this warframe is a caster with lots of cc and buffs to him and allies but not in the way you'd expect.

     

    Passive

    Steady mind

    Raves is the controller of dreams and when all close their eyes Raves keeps vigil and soothes their minds as such he is resistant to forms of cc that impede him from moving.

    He gains a 50% knockdown reduction and Status immunity whenever he is knocked down for 2 seconds any existing status will also be cleansed.

    1- Lullaby/Alarm

    Raves sings a lullaby for 3 seconds and every enemy that comes into range will begin to fall asleep, enemies that are asleep can be woken up and take damage by reactivating this ability, enemies that die to Alarm will trigger a second alarm dealing damage scaling of the enemies total health, this can be chained and will accumulate more damage the more enemies wake up to it and it can chain a maximum of 5 times. Enemies put to sleep by lullaby will have their health drained per second until either the duration or they die. A lullaby will heal allies for a small amount of health.

    Natural Talent will adversely affect lullaby while it can lead to a faster activation of Alarm

    power duration increases sleep duration

    power strength will affect health drain, alarm damage and heal.

    power range will affect lullaby and alarms range.

    Alarm is single target and the chain will be dealt in a cone behind the target.

    2- Lucidity

    Raves places enemies in a state of sleep paralysis making it more susceptible to damage, an enemy affected by lullaby will be opened to finishers and take 100% bonus finisher damage. Enemies in lucidity are not alerted. allies can be affected by lucidity and will gain movement speed and energy regeneration.

    3- Dreams of beauty

    Raves will soothe the mind of party members increasing their damage and lifting status effects currently affecting them these however will be transferred over to raves as bonus power strength and health. this ability is a channel that will trigger much like nekros' desecrate draining energy whenever an ally is buffed and gets the status lifted up. bonus power strength refreshes it doesn't stack. Statuses absorbed will be proced on raves but to 25% effectiveness. magnetic won't drain your energy to 0. thes procs won't hit you at the same time so they will be slowly apllied during the duration of this ability.

    Power strength will not affect health gained but can increase power strength buff.and damage buff to allies.

    Power duration will reduce energy per second drain.

    Power range will affect radius of the ability.

    4- Dreamsurge

    Allies affected by raves' abilities will have the status of rested enemies will be asleep. this will grant charges that will be used during his ultimate max 50 stacks.

    Activating this ability will surge raves and his allies (within affinity range) for 1 stack per surged ally (raves counts so five stacks)

    this is an exalted mode so he will have an exalted weapon to go along with him, this weapon will be a pole-arm and it will have it's own stance,

    Slam attacks will cost 1 stack and will release a healing pulse to nearby allies, it will instantly revive fallen allies for 15 stacks

    spin attacks will cost you one stack but deal 300% weapon damage and will release a wave of energy that will put foes to sleep and open them to finishers.

    it inherits melee weapon mods.

    during Dreamsurge all you abilities will provide double stacks and will be refunded 25% energy spent.

     

    Well what do you think? I'm not good with numbers but I am willing to update as long as there is feedback.

    Acquisition

    Quest- the Golden knight.

    this quest is not about Rêves but his best friend, you will uncover a picture book belonging to an unknown person, the lotus will vaguely remember where you can find more about the owner of this mysterious book.

    The first piece of information will lead you to the moon, a reservoir will be different entering a time rift will cause you to hear dialogue between to people one of them being ballas. this dialogue is someone begging executor ballas to release her from her torment in which ballas refuses.

    after wards you will encounter a diary, belonging to one of the tenno form the zariman, this will detail how she was proud to wield the power to soothe dreams even if she also used her powers for battle, this will also mention of a location on earth in the plains next to the ocean where the ghost of the tenno will prompt a conversation with you, this will lead you to discover that she used her warframe's power to keep her consciousness intact, and with that she was able to roam through the origin system unseen and untouchable, except for tenno who were asleep and a boy who was sensitive to power of the void was able to see her and interact with her. 

    she will tell you that this boy grew up to be a warrior that vowed to protect her and that he tried releasing her from her pain but ballas refused, her function was to monitor the dream and to suppress the memories from the zariman incident, this meant that had to live through all the horrors witnessed and performed by her fellow tenno and the guilt too.

    you will then help her reach the room where her knight was buried and lay her to rest the tenno now awake and her body and friend gone she wishes to rest to do this you will fight her in the world of your own dreams and will discover that though you have accepted you past it will still pounce at you to harm you. you will return to the visage of an orokin tower in the past, and will discover the moment where margulis is assassinated then you will fight her warframe and and after you defeat her you will complete the quest and recieve raves' blueprint.

    Name: Kairos (the supreme moment)

    Role: powerfull solo player

    Theme: weaponising time (not so much controlling it)

    Codex Entry: Using time to reach and completely overwhelm the enemy is Kairos' fighting style, summoning great catastrophies from ancient eras make his enemies cower in fear... (may need work)

    Ability 1: Time bomb

    Moves through time to the nearest enemy and blasting them, dealing area damage. Works like a teleport except, in theory, he goes through time to reach his opponent and blast them with energy.

    Ability 2: Petrify

    The burden of carrying (needs work as well) completely freezes nearby enemies (whatever their position), negating their armor.

    Ability 3: Revert

    The caster and nearby allies will receive the their health and shields back completely, also resetting buffs like volt's speed, however slash over time damage and other conditions will also do so (maybe?)

    Ability 4: Clock Burst

    Condensing the power of time, Kairos launches an impressive array of explosions, crushing his targets with pressure

    "The burden of carrying time is immense, will you succumb to it Tenno?"

    If you want to add the stats since i didnt, feel free to do so and any suggestion and art for this frame is welcome!
