  1. I tried to ask in a support ticket (accidental pun, ha!) but haven't heard back yet and really want to make the purchase..

If you have accounts on more than one platform, with the same e-mail/etc, does a TennoCon ticket count for only one of those? I assume you can only buy one ticket per person?

I just wanted to know if I should add both accounts or only my more used account in the field for account info when buying the ticket.

Edit: I forgot to specify that I'm talking about the digital ticket

  2. So… I made this at 3 AM a couple of weeks ago because I couldn’t sleep, and I must admit I’ve been too chicken to post it before now, because, well, I’m not exactly good at drawing and haven’t even tried in years. Also, my cat (whose favourite warframe is Titania) stole it and used it as a sleeping spot, so pardon the wrinkle in the middle of the paper *blush*

    Grip type: Staff
Faction: created as a fluke by orokin tech
    Name: Sourus
Physical Description: an Orokin tree branch and an Earth tree branch, fused together (haphazardly spiralled) around a void key, At the end of the branches are light shafts with floating debris/objects
Obtained through: special quest from Baro Ki’Teer to obtain a “special, void-related artefact”

    jYBgSCg.jpg

    Text on image/weapon effects:

Note: A 4th fragment is missing from the blue glow/light shaft, I couldn’t decide what from the void would be most fitting to give energy/sec, I was thinking a piece of a death orb but…

“Rumours of an Orokin Tower, pulled by greedy intrudets, crash landing in the lush woods of Earth, its treasure hidden under thich branches and vines, for none have ventured close enough to find… (Sourus)”

Staff, earth tree fused with void tree, void key stuck in between, green glow from wood half, silver glow from void half

    Effects:
When held: Fragments stuck in glow randomly dislodge to orbit warframe. Each has its own effect:
    Flowers: +skill strength (Power)
    Twig: +health/sec
    Mirror: deflect ranged
    ?(couldn’t decide 4th fragment): +energy/sec

Heavy attacks: Chance to open a “rift” to earth (summons kavat) or void (summons orokin drone). Summoned “pet” will attack your enemies. If they survive long enough to kill those around you, they will attack you. If you walk “through” rift, minor health boost (earth) or energy boost (void)

Channeling: All floating fragments swirl around your warframe, all effects active.”

    Concept and quest:

    Spoiler

So, the idea was as follows: A Grineer attempt to invade an Orokin tower went wrong and the tower shifted, and half crashed, half melded into a forest on Earth, far to the north. Rumours of the event have existed for a long time, but since there were no survivors of the incident (the Grineer base completely disappeared, perhaps it was shifted into the void), and the location was remote, there has been no official investigation by any faction. From time to time, strangely fused objects do appear on the markets, though most have been revealed as fakes. This strange staff’s intact void key seems to give it some strange properties, and the object can not be ruled out as the real deal, prompting interest by the Tenno. There are indications that multiple of these staves are in existence, perhaps originating from the same, enormous, fused tree.

Tenno can get the weapon through a mission offered by Baro Ki’Teer, which has you 1) go to a colony and hear the myth, after helping them survive an onslaught, 2) fight the Corpus for intel in the Index, 3) fool Darvo and Clem into helping you steal a “missing, valuable Grineer artefact”

When the quest is complete, Baro Ki’Teer is disappointed with the staff, and tells you to keep the useless thing. If wearing the staff when visiting Baro again later, he will tell you to get that cursed thing out of here lest it shifts the entire relay into the endless void.

    On to the 3-AM-ramblings…
    Further implications, quests and mini-raid:

    Spoiler

The staff will unlock the first of several (4 or 5?) clues in the Codex. Subsequent entries will be obtainable in later patches. Unlocking all the clues will, down the line, give you the location of the Fused Tree and the Fused Tower, a 2-man mini-trial, designed to teach players who are new to trials how to solve puzzles and work together.

Some inhabitants on relays and in colonies, with ancestry from the far North, have started believing that the fused tree might be the holy tree, Saiva Muora,  from ancient legend, since it is “connecting the earth to the heavens”, prompting others to see similar imagery from legends of their own ancestors’ mythologies in this discovery as well, and as a result, every single syndicate is looking for the destination, the “underworld”, the insides of the Orokin tower, which contains massive archives, for their own reasons, New Loka’s reasoning is that the existence of the tree validates the mythos of the ancient humans and the archives might advance the cause, Steel Meridian want to find and save the Grineer outpost settlement that disappeared, Arbiters of Hexis hopes for more info about the origins of the Tenno, Cephalon Suda wants to download all the knowledge, the Perrin sequence wants artefacts for trade, the red veil wants to purge the location, but not before they’ve uncovered data pertinent to saving the system from corruption from the archives.

Every week you can choose to do a quest for one of the syndicates, (or rather buying the blueprint to create the key to the mini-trial from them the first time that week automatically gives you the weekly quest too) to go into the fused tower trial. Completing the quest will grant you a 6-day buff which allows every opened relic to grant you 2500 (?) Syndicate Standing towards the Syndicate you did the quest for, moderately alleviating the grind to obtain new relics (since you can buy new relics from that syndicate for the standing you gain).

Completing the mini-trial can grant you fused emblems and “baby-arcanes”, fused arcanes not meant to out-class or compete with the other trial arcanes but nonetheless useful for players who don’t have the regular ones. Perhaps they come with their short-duration buff also containing a debuff? Say... boost to power damage, but your shield is drained? Etc.

  3. Dear DE.

During the clan event, me and a friend of mine have both had a lot of fun playing the limbo/trinity combo, which makes a quite excellent pair for this mission type (if you're going for, say 4-900 score in one round, which is all I have experience with). We've had several awesome pick up groups, and the event hasn't been quite the pain we (in our small clan) expected.

But here's the thing. Limbo is among the frames we've both avoided like the plague. Not because he wasn't interesting or fun to play, but because he's on the no-go list. The list of frames and weapons that, with their sheer presence in a PUG, will incite anger, fury and uncomfortable comments in chat. So this event marked the first time I played Limbo in a PUG, first time I tried to make a build on him, first time I even bothered to deck the poor guy out with accessories and colours. And it was great.

The inevitable obviously happened and my friend received said uncomfortable comments, because he brought Limbo, in a PUG where everyone else had opted for pure DPS frames (no CC no healing). Now.. I'm not going to pretend I understand people who leave vitriol in chat in a video game at all, I don't, and that's actually not what this post is about. It's not even specifically about Limbo, he's getting an update to his skills soon and I hope the things people have problems with in groups will be addressed with him.

What this post IS about, is the idea that, as creators of something you clearly and obviously care very much for, I can only imagine how much it must suck knowing that there are people out there actively avoiding using something you spent a lot of time on and put a lot of love into, because they don't want to upset other players and receive nasty comments. But that's what's happening with things like Limbo, the Simulor/Mirage combo, and a heap of other frames or weapons who receive a large percentage of forum posts dedicated to actively hating them and players who play them. And a lot of new players who don't know about those frames and the way they impact groups, step into PUG's with them and get negative impressions of the community, because of quickly-typed/said comments by people who are fed up with being irritated.

People complaining about frames and weapons that consistently do top damage in missions is one thing, here there are many factors, such as the purpouse of the weapon/frame, how many formas have been put into them etc. A lot of people will choose the options that are easy and comfortable, that's just what we do as human beings. There will always be favourites and meta builds. I personally have never played a perfectly balanced game, but in these cases, yes, re-balancing stats can be the right way to go.

But please make sure you always look deep into whether a frame or weapon that gets a lot of complaints is, in fact, unbalanced, or if it has mechanics that irritate players unnecessarily. Take the synoid simulor for instance, it is a very well known example so I'm using it as an illustration. People have different limits when it comes to sensory input. Some people get easily stressed when there's a lot of visual clutter while others don't mind at all. If you're in the "don't mind" category, you could be forgiven for not thinking of the repercussions for other people if you bring the flashiest combination of frame/weapon ever into a mission because it doesn't blip on your radar. You've never experienced the sensory overload it causes for a lot of other people. Likewise, if you're in the "sensory overload" camp, it would be understandable if you lashed out in frustration when you're faced with a flash-splosion of epic proportions for a good 40+ minutes.

These things are on you, as developers, not the person bringing Limbo and causing frustration, and not the people who get frustrated. Sure, they can do their part to act civil and polite but.. your game, your responsibility.

I just feel like, with the weapon re-balance changes you're implementing as we speak and a whole host of other changes and reworks on the horizon, that you might need a little reminder, because you're all human, not computers, and you can't think of everything all the time.

Basically, if a frame or weapon is causing a LOT of irritation, stats might NOT be what you should look at. Instead, look at what can be done to limit visual clutter or irritation to other players in the group. Limbo? Make sure people can get themselves out of a banish if one was to accidentally miss one's intended target (very easy to do on console) and for the love of clem, make sure you choose comfort over balance and let people pick up the %&#¤ loot/objectives, who cares if that's "OP", with simulor/mirage, perhaps let the rest of the group only see the orbs spawned by Mirage's own weapon, not the ones spawned by clones, with Ember, perhaps limit the visuals of WoF for the rest of the group... with the sonicor.. I don't know.. find a way to let mobs that fall off the map despawn after some time I guess.

You did a good job removing the flashy flashy lights from Banshee when it gave people seizures, thank you, the colourblind-friendly doors was a great touch as well, and with Ash, removing the immortality of the mobs he was about to attack was also good. But you failed to address the "cutscene" of bladestorm that is causing some people nausea/headaches.

Balancing numbers isn't always what we need/want, sometimes, you get further with some empathy. "design for disabilities, and your design will work better for everyone", I once learned in a UI design class, and in this case, I feel a similar mindset is the best way to avoid re-works that don't address the underlying issues and thus end up getting poor reception when released. (and no, I don't mean DE should design the game for blind people... although if they could, I'm pretty sure they'd be handed the nobel prize in medicine and how would that be a bad thing?)

But anyways, thank you for a wonderful game.

  4. I'm not sure this is complicated enough to even count as a concept.. it is more of a request, really, so I am not sure this is the right subforum for it?

But it would be really nice if we could favourite mods like we do colours, and get a tab for favourite mods on the mod station and build interface?

It would make it easier to mark event mods so you know you have them, faster to re-build after forma reset, etc.

Also, if you had a "favourite" category when trading, but removed favourite mods from the regular mods trading category you could either a) mark mods you are selling as favourite to make the trade go quicker or b) not accidentally trade your clanmates a common quality event mod when trying to be quick. Then again who would be silly enough to do that? Certainly not me.. *cough*

Finally, it would make it easier to differentiate the fully upgraded serration you use for your weapon and the fully upgraded serration you use for your sentinel's weapon for those that do that.. though not having mod conflicts when you use sentinel weapons would frankly be so much more user friendly that I feel that should count more than logic breaks (how can I use the same thing twice at the same time) and the system should be changed.

Making it work just like colour favourites would work great, "shooting" the mod to mark it (ps4.. not sure what button does it on pc?) and marking it with a star.

how many autistic kids have you seen that can play an online game, or even type a full sentence...? im yet to see even ONE.

i think many players have aspergers and autism confused af

Just wanted to quickly give correct(er as of a psychiatry course 2 years ago, diagnose criteria change over time) information in case someone wants it or are interested.

Aspergers is an "autism spectrum disorder" and as such is a form of autism.

There are people on the spectrum that don't speak/have language, yes, but there are also plenty of non-aspie autistic people who speak and write and play video games just fine. The language issues that the diagnose "requires" can be as subtle as having trouble with certain synonyms, forming very perfectionistic sentences, or can be spoken language only and unnoticeable in text.

    The more you know... :)

For the record I have played with several autistic kids and adults, in many online games, and that is only counting the ones I knew in guilds/communities. Chances are, so have everyone else too ^_^

  6. I wanted to make a post about this too as it takes away a little from an otherwise lovely syandana.

It is basically a tiny 3D cylinder. it almost looks like it has "spaceship windows" so it has a texture on it.

It shows on most female frames and I have seen it on one or two thin male frames. Chest depth plus syandana anchor point on the back seems to be determining factor.

It is amost as if it is a rotation point for fitting the syandana neatly on each frame that is showing up unintentionally.

  7. I would "main" titania but she is very situational. She is the ultimate risk vs reward frame for me, and I always loved situational classes in games but of course, if I am being honest, there are too many situations where she isn't the safe bet so I land fairly evenly between Titania, Trinity and Ivara with frost and inaros close behind when it comes to sorties and more challenging content these days (I love so many of the frames though...)

But Titania is my favourite, not because she is a pixie and that's in my nickname but because until nidus came out she was the only frame where I use all 4 abilities pretty much every mission i bring her on. Her 1st is my oh s&#%t cc button and I use it to remove status effects from myself and teammates (when I notice). Lantern I personally only use as cc when rezzing and otherwise it is an energy dump aoe damage skill when double clicked in my build. Tribute, as well, is energy dump with positive benefits for my team, I definitely feel the difference in long/endless missions when I have enough energy to keep them running vs when I don't. And I use all these skills while in razorwing.

I, too, tend to bring her on sniper only missions and on bow only if ivara isn't a good fit. Have I brought her on public missions where she wasn't a good fit? Absolutely! (Sorry, team from yesterday) but I have never once been told off for using her, even when I played her wrong.

She does require a bit of learning, which enemies do what buff (dust + Nyx chaos isn't always what the team requires for instance) and what extra features her skills have, but she can melt bosses without taking damage, save the day in sniper only sorties and make sentinels a breeze, so she definitely earned her place on my top frame roster. My boyfriend stopped rolling his eyes at me for bringing her after only a week or two! ;)

I jest.. but yes. We both definitely mistook her for a gimmick-frame or even a low-lvl-content-only frame at first. Until we saw her dmg numbers rising from the scattered remains of her lvl 100+ foes, that is. Turns out I inadvertently brought a main weapon with precisely the right mods by accident...

I do wish they would remove a few of the restrictions from her though. She isn't so OP that letting her open doors and rez without leaving razorwing (which sometimes bugs out for me) would break the game, tbh. And spellbind is short and weak enough that protecting you from the damage you are standing in, or in the case of Tribute, giving you the full stack of one buff from a single enemy instead of stacking the same buff by casting it over and over would be a welcome addition to the team and frame, and I still don't think you'd be swimming in a sea of Titanias because she would still be very situational. And I don't know why she is so attracted to every surface she gets near that she just HAS to stop and ponder her existence... I am getting a lot better at manouvering her though.

But at the end of the day, the most important thing is that she is my cat's favourite. When those butterflies twirl all around her in the orbiter.. oh he falls for it every. Single. Time ;)

I have actually never played atlas for real, but I'm sure he's a good guy?

  8. Children, dressed up as their favourite warframes, who wants to trade "cards" (mods) with you, but won't accept any of the more special ones ("sorry I don't know that one...it looks fake"), and for whom you do random emotes with upon interaction. Once a week they tell you a rumour of a monster on a random location, like a former colony where you will fight a grineer maniac or something, where you get toy trophies that can be placed in the liset, and rarely, one of the kids will be dressed as baro ki'teer and will trade you a glyph of baro ki'teer or a lotus sigil drawn by actual children etc for oberon, ivara parts or dread blueprins etc

It would help new players attain some of the common mods a little faster, introduce them to the relays so they see the social aspect and guides, and veteran players would still get the silly weekly toy rewards. It would also breathe life into the world.

A sortie slot machine: if you manage the first sortie mission, you get one coin, two for second, three for the final one. It takes 12 coins for a spin, and the rewards are all the sortie rewards. You can also win a double roll so you get to spin twice.

Edit: the kids' costumes have to be a bit shoddy but recognizable. No shortcuts like a scaled-down rhino passing for a child ;)
