  1. I'm honestly surprised Rebecca posts this with seemingly not a care in the world. Like it's all good now. I can only assume they are panicking hard behind the scenes and this is a very weak band-aid they came up with during said panic which as usual only backfires and creates more outrage.

God, DE can come across as so unprofessional at times.

  2. I remember reading a thread posted by Rebecca or Meagan that stated when it gets officially released, they will implement the Optional reset like the Open beta launch.

That's all fine and dandy. But think about it for a second. What would make Warframe "done"? what would change about the update schedule when Warframe gets a major update that happens to also says "Official Release"? Halting new content updates because "hey guys the game is done" results in a pretty immediate and unsightly death for the game and simply continuing with what DE is doing anyway makes it pointless to call it such. When being officially released or not has absolutely no meaning why bother with it at all?

  3. Warframe is a different beast from your average video game. The best way to describe it imo is perpetual beta. This game will never reach a "done" state as it needs a steady flow of new content to survive. It's just how it works. There most likely won't ever be an official launch. So you might want to steer away from that mindset. I also highly doubt another optional reset will happen. It simply passed that point.

Edit: Keep in mind there is nothing stopping you from choosing an unranked frame with unranked weapons and pretend you got reset or something? I don't really see what you would get out of a reset that you cant get as any other mastery.

  4. because they want to make sure no game breaking bugs appear. Would you rather wait 1 more day to play the update. Or wait a week or two because something broke because they decided to release it early instead of fixing a possible problem.

That would have some meaning if it wasn't so that every single major update released so far came with a whole truckload of game breaking bugs. Every. Time.

From my experience hardly any QA is being done for major updates if at all. DE needing extra time is mostly because the content for the update simply isn't done / compiled yet. There is no indication whatsoever they take extra time to optimize / bugfix.

  5. There are reasons Viral + Slash or Viral Slash is the best for 4x CP high levels builds.

    Proc

Viral = raw Hp reduced by 50%

Heat = panic + DOT damage

    Slash = extreme DOT damage

Yes let no one fool you, statuses do have their value.

Yeah It's the best because those damage types have huge % bonuses vs flesh enemies (which becomes everyone with 4x CP) and it would still remain that way even if the procs were terrible. I really don't understand why people want status to be so important when it's just not.

  6. Status procs are fun little extra things that happen while killing things and make the game a lot more colorful for sure. But I'm thoroughly convinced status builds are straight up terrible. The way Warframe works It's better in every single case  to just kill a target faster instead of waiting for procs to do things. You don't have to worry about getting the right status procs if you are the only thing alive right?

The only argument one could make for it is if you are in such high level endgame that you can't really kill things any more and viral procs etc suddenly take away huge chunks of health. Is this relevant for 95% of the players? Not really. And if you bring the right frames even that aspect becomes pointless. (Excal's radial blind into finisher to name 1 example)

Status is a fun little gimmick that has no place being any gun's focus.

    my 2 cents :)

  7. If I may, I would correct you in 2 points:

    - buzz kill is a waste speaking on EB side, as the blade damage is split into damage types so you're boosting only 1/3 of the damage with that. An elemental would then be a much better option.

    - while I agree that Berserker is a waste if you count to trigger it with slashes or waves, it can be a nice mod to use with Reflection on Excalibur: since all the bullets will be redirected to enemies and even if they have a low crit chance, one of them will be a crit hit sooner or later, I can assure you that with Reflection on you'll be in perma Berserker. Not to mention you could benefit from life strike only by channeling parry...

I did literally say the same in my explanation for using buzz kill. It is to boost the waves mainly (which is 70% slash) not the blade itself (which already does absurd damage at this point).

And I do not have space for reflection on my build. I did try it out mind you. I just didn't end up using it at all.. why parry things when you could just slash dash in, channel a single strike to get to full health whenever needed and keep on going? :)

  8. do not be afraid of spoiled strike, attack speed does not carry over to the ability

Dude. At least be sure of what you are saying. Any melee mod will affect EB. that includes fury, berserker and spoiled strike. all 3 affect EB's attack speed. And scrapping all duration mods is not a good idea. You need to keep duration somewhat close to 80-100%. Thats just how important radial blind is. And in Excal's case focussing on EB, surging dash is at all times better than intensify as all his damage scales with the melee combo counter. Now we are entering personal preference territory but primed flow is extremely good on Excal if you want to play him very actively (required on high level)

  9. ^

I would tend to agree with this.

Channeling looks like an attractive distractor in this case. Wiki says channeling and base damage don't help the waves, but that the waves DO help the melee combo counter. Then the combo counter affects everything and Radial Blind -> Execute deals STUPID amounts of damage so you don't really need much base damage. I was one hit killing lv95 Bombards in the sim with zero power strength and only Pressure Point and Killing Blow.

I'm thinking attack speed and wave damage. Get that combo counter and your zerk stacks going and slaughter trash with damage boosted waves, then execute big stuff as needed.

First build I try after work will probably be...

    Pressure Point / 90% / 90% / 90%

Berserker / Syndicate / Crit Chance / Crit Damage

I'm sorry to disappoint but the waves do in fact not add to the melee combo counter. I think what the wiki means is that wave damage scales with the melee combo counter it does not add to it.

  10. 175% efficiency is a must? I have 105% and I never run out of energy. For what do you need full efficiency + quick thinking on excalibur? EB only drains 2.5 energy per sec.

You need the max efficiency if you want to constantly use slash dash and radial blind to control the battlefield which is required when doing high level content. I use a rank 9 primed flow and still sometimes find myself reaching 100-150 energy (with a nearly 400 max) encouraging me to go energy orb hunting a bit more consciously at those moments. Oh and I very much dislike quick thinking I never use it.

  11. I go a variation of option 1 I guess.

In contrast to what most claim I am very heavily against using berserker for EB

15% crit chance on the blade and a way lower crit chance on the waves itself is very low for a non multi hitting stance with relatively short range (the blade itself).

On top of that if targets are blinded the waves itself kill targets often before the blade can even touch the enemy's body losing even more berserker procs. Hell it even happens when performing finishers.

Channeling builds do not work with the constant energy drain EB has by default and will only end up overkilling everything while running out of energy frequently.

I'm having outstanding results with this (It is my void build but does very well in anything star-chart because the damage numbers are so high): http://goo.gl/jDyGYn

Fury alone gives EB enough attack speed since it's pretty speedy by itself to never miss berserker at all.

Corrosive is a really well rounded element vs pretty much everything.

Cold damage does like double damage vs shields and is way better than blast.

Buzz Kill because the waves have 70% slash damage even if the blade itself only has 33% (and slash rules)

Bright purity because everything about it. Even if they end up removing proccing the syndicate farts with EB the +100% base damage is still worth it

    Life strike because duh.

  12. I have to agree that's one of the weaker builds I've seen so far.

Going 175% efficiency is a must.

You really only need a max Vitality as a defensive mod paired with lifestrike on your melee. Going with 3 defensive mods on the frame takes way too much precious space.

You do not need 200% strength at all. Surging Dash is always a better choice over intensify and will net you more damage.

Do not underestimate extra range on Excal as it improves both slash dash and radial blind which are crucial by quite a bit.

Oh and your melee build just hurts my eyes Oo. How can you even think not using pressure point is an option?? and since you are using the skana Bright Purity on it is a straight up must.. Really if you want to build it right you have 2 maybe 3 90% ele mods on there no more.

So yeah that's my 2 cents. Oh and these are tips to get excal past 40 minutes on T4 survival without any problems btw.

  13. Would drop intensify any day for surging dash.

QFT! 1 target slash dashed already gives you that 1.5x damage multiplier (quite easy to get it to 2x damage too). Intensify does not remotely keep up with that. And i agree that duration needs to be kept at a decent level if you expect Excal to get anywhere on the higher level missions.

    I use

for a well balanced build that can go long games without issue

  14. Javelins coming out of the ground would be awesome.. and fitting for the animation he does for RJ anyway. As for super jump being removed. With aerial melee attacks being as they are, super jump had no real use anymore. The few seconds of invisibility did not redeem it.

I really hope his new 4 will be something like floating javelins/skanas around him that block damage and hurt nearby enemies. Something to complement melee at least. Make Excal the real master of the sword he deserves to be.

  15. This thread has restored some hope. Here I was thinking I was the only one left that absolutely hated the camping trend that emerged in recruiting and all these people that for some reason are against having fun. Great to read there are like minded people still left. Personally I'm very much for a straight up rework of vortex. That would probably hit the camp game the hardest. Yes it will trigger a gigantic wave of whine on here but the game will be better for it and people will get over it.

  16. The reason this change is unacceptable to me for the most part is the complete lack of any communication regarding this especially with the whole Viver and Excal rework behind us also weighing in. To then come forward and say it was intended all along, casually contradicting a TON of previously relayed information... It's a huge slap in the face for any Tenno with a brain. This is something more people need to understand.

And aside from all that. I personally never really got over the LoS nerf to Radial Blind. I did try and deal with it but too many times, some heavy gunner or the like just barely misses the blind for whatever LoS related reason and you get shot to pieces. It really just became too unreliable for me to enjoy it.

The reworked Javelin technically provided some balancing to the loss of Radial Blind even though I never really cared for it. Now with that gone too.. He's pretty much objectively useless at this point. Especially compared to the other frames.

  17. No idea what Megan was thinking saying this about Radial Javelin. There is actual video proof (dev-stream) where I believe it's Scott that says that after the rework LoS was most definitely no longer intended since the Javelins started spawning around the targets instead of from Excal's sword specifically for that reason. Surely this is a miscommunication within DE? because if they really think we are this stupid I'm quite insulted.

I guess Viver never happened either huh? Right on

It's really gotten quite hilarious how Excal is being handled. Seriously making Excal interesting to play with is not hard that hard! someone please let whoever is deciding this idiocy know this.

A good start would be giving Excal an augment to restore the Radial Blind to its pre-nerf status. Call it Piercing blind or something.

  18. To me Sentinels start out better, but Kubrows with enough time invested in them will end up being superior, which seems to be how they are intended. A maxed out Kubrow simply outperforms a maxed out sentinel, but running a Kubrow unpotatoed without maxed or nearly maxed mods performs horribly. Way worse than a bare-bones sentinel.

I exclusively use a tiny lotus Raksa (which to me is indisputably the best variant.) or carrier/sweeper, depending on what I'm doing, so stasis recovery is a non-issue.

But yeah seriously do not judge Kubrows (especially the constantly shield replenishing and aoe fearing kind) until they have like.. 6 formas on them at least. They weren't really meant for anything less.
