  1. Crazy theory:

The woman in the Ember Prime codex who said there were no children on board was right... Tenno are literally immortal Void demons who could not control their power when incarnate.

The Zariman adults were corrupted by the Void, and had to have a Warframe constructed around them to control their horrific mutations (Excal Prime codex). They are permanently infused with Void energy, but have their own, twisted and beastly consciousness, Being essentially non-corporeal, Tenno can possess a Frame and its inhabiant, but the frame can still break this or assert its own consciousness (Valkyr Prime Trailer, Rhino Prime Codex, TSD cinematic). This residual consciousness is what makes frames have a "personality", and the horrific Void mutations are what allow the Frame to develop a specific set of abilities (rather than just spewing pure Void energy) and to conduct the energy from the Tenno.

If Tenno had a physical body other than a manifestation of a Void demon, Transference wouldn't allow Tenno to manifest out of their Frame, and they would be able to succumb to Infestation. Perhaps Helminth fears the Tenno (Void demon) because he, nor the main strain of Technocyte, can infect and assimilate a manifestation of Void energy?

Stalker and Umbra (who bear a strange resemblance) are Warframes that have asserted their own consciousness.

  2. It makes sense to have the planet unlocked for a quest which takes place there... In-universe, it means that the Operator would be able to travel there. But doing the junction quests? As everyone's saying, it makes little sense. Perhaps players who already have a planet unlocked should have the junction marked as complete and not have to do it for quest requirements?

  3. I was not happy that a Junction quest was a requirement for TWW... I had Sedna unlocked already, and that should have been enough. Completing the Junction quest was tedious, frustrating, and pointless. What's more is that I see no real relation between the Sedna Junction tasks and TWW. I don't know of anyone who did TSD and didn't play Lua.

Sure, me and my friend spent the first 5 waves of a defence on the new kuva fortress in operator form. Then we extracted because it got boring.

To each, their own... I find playing as the operator pretty enjoyable

Lore wise it makes sense to come out to fight that specific enemy, but gameplay wise it makes the whole mechanic pretty much pointless in the rest of the entire game.

Unless you're the host the operator model is also completely messed up, so it's not good even just to show off.

Lore-wise, I would not be surprised if showing up in the flesh was not uncommon. The descriptions of Tenno and their performance in battle would point to a combination of Frames and showing up in the flesh. Warframes are nothing to be trifled with, but I would think the whole "demon child" powers would be more likely to inspire the kind of awe and fear that follows the Tenno.

As for gameplay, see above... I suppose I'm more excited for Operator stuff than most.

If that's the intent the void laser needs a massive, massive, massive buff. It's a joke even on sedna much less in sorties.

This is true... Which is why I like the idea of DPS based off of a proportion of the enemy's HP and perhaps their relative size (ie heavy units, footsoldiers, or cannon fodder).

Dude what's the use of spoiler when your thread title is clearly suggesting that operator can now do stuff other than screaming at the enemies?

The operators are so fragile with their 100 HP and they even take fall damage. I think the operators are supposed to come out only to deal with the Kuva guards. Sure we can enter the battlefield but that doesn't means we should.

I disagree... Operator usage adds an interesting change of pace. More damage from the damage abilities would make for some interesting gameplay based around intermittent evasion and face-melting. Besides, it's such FUN.

  7. Again, maybe a slight bit more HP and an increase in damage output would fit nicely with the idea that the Operator is a Void-touched mutant "demon child" who cannot withstand a whole heck of a lot of damage to his physical form. I like the idea of being able to fight as the Operator and switch between that and Frame usage at will. More face-melt from Operator powers is my main complaint. If they hurt like they're supposed to be able to (and I get the notion that it was direct Operator intervention that won he Old War), HP wouldn't matter much.

  8. I agree that having the Operator with a larger health pool would be nice, and that the damage-related should scale based on HP percentage. The other option would be to keep the Operator squishy, but have the Void Beam and Void Blast melt face like in TSD.

That said, I am so happy that DE lets us switch between Tenno and 'Frame at will. I was wondering when they'd do that.

On the other hand, I think Operator development should be separate from Focus... ie: Operator abilities are abilities shared by all Tenno, but Focus powers are power gained from focusing (see what I did there) on one Tenno School.

  9. As for the powers, i am really curious is, why during the quest we have that "frontal shockwave" and on the focus powers we have nothing similar to that.

This... I think that this should be an attack common to all paths, which would allow an "Oh, $#!%" against Sentients.

Also, how do Sentients adapt to our powers, which are channeled void energy, AKA Sentient poison?

  10. My mind was blown and my heart was touched. There's no way to really express it... this little bit of gameplay stirred more emotion than I thought possible. Keep up with the genuine warmth and maternal love of the Lotus, Hunhow's unbridled hatred of everything non-Sentient, and the Stalker's obvious internal conflicts over the Tenno and Orokin.

    Congratulations, DE!

  11. Trying to write this by hand reveals a few issues:

    1. The slant ends up being a bit more pronounced than in the original font.

    2. "M" and "H", and "N" and "L" are hard to distinguish... with "N" and "L", placement of the small "tick" is important (middle of the bar on L, towards the left on N).

    3. The difference between the font and handwriting is real. That said, unlike the Grineer font and the Corpus font, this one can be feasibly handwritten.

    4. On an unrelated note, someone at class tried to peek at my notes to find her place in the lecture after a nap... the look on her face was priceless

If I get the chance, I'll write at length on some inane topic, and photograph the results for the Tenno Community.

Kudos DE, for such a well-designed writing system. Who's the linguist?

  12. I've been trying to play the open space archwing missions, but I keep getting auto extracted. There is zero indication where the boundaries are nor is there any seeming logic to where they are placed. This renders all but the "trench run" missions impossible.

DE: Please look into adding a working map for Archwing missions, and perhaps having some sort of indication where map boundaries are.

    Otherwise, a fantastic update.

  13. To the devs: In the "free flight" missions (like the archwing mission on Mercury) I have no idea where the map boundaries are and how the boundary system even works. I keep getting a forced extraction because there is no logical way to predict where the boundaries are.

Could a functioning map be added to archwing missions, so that they are actually playable?

  14. I recently acquired Saryn, and have leveled her to lvl 15 with a potato. I've been trying to get some Venom awesomeness this whole time to no avail... any weapon I use is at best a crapshoot as to whether or not the spore will pop. Boltor, Flux, Grakata, Hek, Boar, Sobek, Akbolto, Dual Bronco... all had at best a scant chance to actually pop the spore.

My question is this: How the heck am I supposed to pop these spores? Is there some rain dance ritual I need to perform, or is there a reliable method for popping the spores? If there is indeed a method to it, shooting the spore seems to not be involved.

  15. Her ult seems OP early game, but falls off FAST. It's almost entirely reliant on one-hitting primed enemies. Other skills are pretty good.
