  1. As quoted by DE_Steve: Multishot increases the chance for an extra bullet to fire from your gun, without consuming the ammo...In most cases. In a shotgun, each pellet undergoes the Multishot treatment.

If a Hek fires 7 pellets, that is 7 pellets that WILL fire 2 shots, and each have a 20% chance of firing an additional pellet. By the law of averages, there is a higher possibility of something with a 20% chance occuring with 7, vs 4.

Conversely, we need to look at the damage breakdown.

If Hek fires 7 pellets for 140 damage, that is 20 damage per pellet. If Sobek fires 4 pellets for 100 damage, that's 25 damage a pellet. In order for Hek to overtake Sobek on damage effectiveness from Multishot, it must manage an average of 2 bonus pellets from that last 20% of Multishot.

I don't have a degree in Statistics and Probability, so I can't tell you which would have higher potential in a minute long span, but chances are...Hek WILL overtake it.

If that's the case, it's the opposite.  In the long run they'll both end up with an extra 20% damage overall.  In the short run, the hek is better because each individual shot will be closer to an average.

  2. There's already an extra one if you have 120% in a Hek. It increases 8 pellets (from the initial 7), and it has a 40% chance of a 9th pellet.

While with a Sobek, it increases 4 pellets (from the initial 4) with a 80% chance of a 5th pellet.

So, yes, Hek does benefits more than Sobek from Hell's Chamber

Your point being?  The overall average damage % increase ends up being the same.

    Look

    Let's say you fire 10 times with a 120% hell's chamber.

it would be reasonable to assume 8/10 of the sobek's will have an extra pellet, so you end up with

    200*2+225*8=2200 damage total.

without chamber it would just be 1000 damage.   So chamber is a 120% increase

WIth a hek, 4/10 would have an extra bullet, so that's

    300*6+320*4=3080

Without chamber, it would be 1400 damage.  So a 120% increase from chamber.

Of course, the hek is going to be more reliable in some ways, but overall it'll be the same percentage increase.

  3.

But if you max it you have 120%, not 100%, so:

    Hek      7 pellets -> 7 * 120% = 8.4 = 8 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 140 to 300 per shot.

    Sobek  4 pellets -> 4 * 120% = 4.8 = 4 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 100 to 200 per shot.

Except that it applies a % chance to the last pellet still.  You've got an 80% chance at an extra pellet with the sobek, and a 40% to get an extra one with the Hek.  The total average bonus damage ends up being the same.

edit: does not work the way Dasmir says it does either.

  4. I'm a warlord, albeit of a small clan, but the patch notes indicated to mess with clan emblems to go to account management on the main site.

I have done so,  and beyond showing some account information, it gives me password change, alias change, and the optional account reset.  I don't see anything involving emblems anywhere.

    Am I missing something?

  5. This is I think by far the best update ever.

    Just a couple things though.

I am a warlord, and on going to my account info, on warframe.com, I see no options regarding clan emblems.

Also, as an above poster pointed out, it's now no longer possible to see who voted for what.  This is pretty irritating, because it means everytime I'm playing with friends, and I vote somewhere to go, if they want to follow me I have to type out in steam or wherever the location, instead of them just being able to go straight there.

Also, about decorations-you seem to be able to place them on walls and cielings even when that wouldn't make sense.  I can place a koi pond upside down on the cieling, for instance.  I also found that it would be possible to block doors with some of these.  Unless there is an option to delete and get reimbursment for these, I have chosen not to place anything for the time being.

The raptor, as pointed out, is exceedingly easy with frost, but incredibly hard with other characters because of essentially instant death.  Furthermore, he still drops absolutely nothing for me.  Not just bps, but no mods, no materials, not even energy.

  6. They seem to get stuck in the doorways, so my advice is do kappa/kiste, and then run around between rounds to the edges of the rooms where the spawns are.  You'll know if you're near one because they disrupt your minimap.

  7. This thread is not a python attribute >_>

Also I don't mind that primes are a separate frame.  The only thing is, at one point they mentioned they were thinking of having primes have some kind of buff in the void that they gave to squadmates as well, and that never came to fruition.  I'd like to see that.  It wouldn't have to be anything game breaking and I wouldn't want it to be something that provided you with unique content, but having them do something would be nice.  Maybe have traps recognize players as friendly and not activate or something.  As is, they're just frames that potentially need one less forma and have slightly better recharge speed.

  8. I for one, and I'm probably not alone on this, feel that this is one of the most beneficial abilities.  Not only does it allow us to pull enemies together so they can be Ulted and AoE'ed much easier, but it also gives us a way to permanently remove the trolls that camp spawn points in unlimited defense maps.

Step 1.  Wait for enemy to swarm troll.

Step 2. Wait for enemy to kill troll.

    Step 3.  Vortex Troll

Rinse and Repeat till they exhaust their revives.  Happy Gaming!

Hey guess who else can prevent revives?  By throwing out vortex?

    Trolls.

    It goes both ways, buddy.

  9. You don't, but they're very good at monitoring their forums and listening to feedback.  If you have put up a reasonable suggestion like this one, they will most likely see it.

  10. I guess I would be okay with this.  Extraction countdowns are a way to prevent one player from screwing over everyone else because they don't feel like finishing yet, it would be nice if there was a corresponding solution to the opposite end of the spectrum.

For the record, I am not against rushing in the least.  I do it myself sometimes when I need to farm a rare resource.  My volt is entirely decked out for speed.  But when I do it, I do it by myself or with other players who are like-minded.  The problem is, if you're going to rush, why are you bothering to join other players if you're going to solo the boss anyways?  Oh wait, there's one reason-to leech off other players who are partway through to the boss, so that you just have less ground to cover.  Basically, you're using others to save yourself time, and then screwing them over in the process.

I've read responses saying "too bad you don't like rushing, you could just rush too".  How does that happen when I'm a loki or a volt, and can move about three times faster than your rhino?  Even if the rhino tries to go along with it, they're going to be left behind, and they're going to miss out on resources and mod drops.

The mentality of "if you're playing public, you shouldn't complain about other players" doesn't really cut it.  If you're going to be playing to one extreme or another(rushing as fast as possible, or taking as much time as possible and looting absolutely EVERYTHING), you should just be playing by yourself or with your friends.  What's the point of joining public if you don't intend to actually play with your squad?  Public should be balanced for cooperation, because that is the entire point of pubs.

Imo, placing a door on boss entrances is a MUCH better solution than slide cooldown was, because it allows players to play quickly if they want on their own or with friends, while still ensuring that newer or slightly slower players in pubs don't get $&*^ed over.

  11. Dear OP, I didn't fail these missions once, and I did it with randoms.  Except for one that was corpus and went to Frost.  Not that I failed, or did it with randoms, I did it solo.

Getting a frame to 30 takes no more than a few weeks if you're just playing the game like normal.  I'm sorry if you think event should be so easy that a brand new player can get through them, but for the rest of us, events are something to do when we've done a lot of the game.  New players really don't have to worry too much about a defense event when they have the entire rest of the game to play.

As to netcode, yes, lag is a result of it in some cases.  But you mention lag when the number of enemies increase.  This is due to the fact that the host is burdened with basically all of the computation, and if they don't have a high-spec machine, they're going to get a choppy frame rate.  When that happens, the information that they can send out gets choppy as well.  They understand things don't go smoothly, that's why they're trying to fix them.  Would you prefer they just shut the game down for the next x months while they try to fix it?

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience.  I really am.  I just don't think the general public is as terrible at the game as you think they are(read:  most of the general public has at least okish gear).  I did a grineer defense with a level 10 frame, and my three teammates were just completely random non-defense oriented frames(saryn, excalibur, rhino).  You mention your teammates being idiots and doing their own thing and failing as a result...that's going to happen literally in any multiplayer/co-op game.  You are going to get dumb people if you play with randoms.  There isn't anything a developer can do about that.  Which is why we have clans, as well as a chat, as well as a subforum, all to organize squads if you so desire.

  12. The drops are random for everyone, when someone else might get a neurode that doesn't mean when you pick it up it will also be a neurode. If I farm Mercury for Morphics from Captain Vor, my whole team can be lucky and pick up Morphics from the boss resource drop--but that doesn't mean when i pick it up it will be the same thing. Your friend was just very lucky to be able to get so many.

That's incorrect.  Resource drops are the same for each player(if vor drops a morphics, every player can get said morphics).  They work just like blueprint drops.

  13. I'd personally like them to be in a slot of their own but to take up mod points due to the fact that they will be upgradable will make them pretty powerful.  I already have decisions to make with the number of slots I have, so I'd prefer not to lose another to an artifact, but I also don't want to just have a free powerful passive ability (hence I'd like them to use up mod points as per usual).
