  1. DE, you've done a really annoying thing here.

Ferchrissake, why fix what wasn't broken? Melee combat used to be one of the most enjoyable parts of your game. Now it's clunky and awkward.

Please, the fix is simple. Just let me press a button or scroll a wheel and switch into the familiar melee mode. It's annoying as all frackbot to use "quick melee" to switch to the melee and line up a kill strike only to have your primary auto-switch-timeout have happened and you wind up blasting whatever instead of slashing whatever. Finishers are darn near impossible.

Basically, I now either /won't/ melee at all, or I'll loadout /only/ my melee, if that's what I'm feeling like doing. Hardly flow. Much janky.

In closing, I do not like this, sam I am. I do not like it on my box0r, I do not think at all it rox0r.

  2. Not exclusive to profit taker, but happens approximately half of the time on this particular mission. No identified trigger. At some point during the battle (could be early, could be late), the sound cuts out completely, except for a "skip" sound, like when you've left a record on the player too long. This started happening approximately one weak ago. I believe it's only happened once outside of the PT boss fight, but I don't recall where. Might have been in an SU bounty. 80% sure it was in the Vallis, but might have actually been during an ESO run.

Oh, yeah, have to exit entirely out of the game to fix.

  3. I just wanted to point out that the barbs on the Mewan are pointing the wrong way. Positioned as they are, they would either increase drag on a thrusting strike or blunt the impact of a slash. You need to turn them around to make them effective for thrusts, and make them more angular (preferably with apexes in line with the blade) to mitigate the slashing issues.

Cheers, and thanks for all the fish.

  4. Also, most bounties feel like fast paced, but still smart combat. I've taken to soloing and just bringing a vectis, marelok, and galatine out on the plains. However, like ApplySci said, this just becomes an "equip melee, spam lmb" scenario. Pretty blah compared to the rest of the content.

All I'm saying is. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Baro to bring some new items every once in a while. This doesn't mean his Baro related crap either. His cape & pet armors are not good looking nor I consider new. (Well maybe except the sentinel wings. That wasnt bad) Only thing he brought that was new was Primed Cyro Rounds. It's like his can't release a new prisma weapon. There are plenty of weapons that could use a side grade.

Yeah, I know, I am in total agreement.  This junk is junk.

But of course!  How could I have forgotten primed cryo rounds, for all your D polarity needs!

I mean, come on.  Couldn't they have slipped us primed toxic mods this week?

New players wouldnt even know what to have. Everything would be new to them. This is not an excuse.

How about it's not fair to old players either.  I've been grinding for years, and now with Sicarus prime, I'm down to three items I don't own (but could; exclusives notwithstanding).    Baro's supposed to be a place for me to dump my worthless prime junk for something fun to play with.  I'm sitting on a stack of 4000 ducats worth right now, and I don't even void that much.

I get it, there's an economy in play here, but ffs, it's been half a year.

  7. Agree with OP 100%.  It's not that Baro didn't bring anything new this week, it's that he hasn't brought anything new since the temps were triple digits.  It's been like 6 months.

It's also that Baro brought mod packs.

What in the actual fricassee is that about?  How'm I gna spend ducats on cards I practically find in my crack after a single mission?  My ole lotus would have me in the kubrow house for that.  Just nonsense.

  8. Here's my take:

    * Too easy.  I mean, these dudes just aren't challenging to fight.  Part of this is related to...

    * Not exciting / not enough contact with the enemy.  And when you do, they don't team up on you.  The one time I ran into a pack of three or four, cutting them up one by one was cake.

    * Not enough of a bonus.  I realize you said you'd bump this, but, to be compelling, you need to fix the above two points, and then fix this.  Give me a chance at 1,000,000, but with the real possibility of losing the same.  That's exciting. Anything else and... well, H (any infested D) need EV, Chroma, Nekros, Speedva.

    * Those mods... like, why?  Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not going to farm these.  There's nothing in there like, say blood rush/body count or argon scope / whatever the +crit on kill is.

In short, the only real reason for me to do this is to get the badge & adapter.  I don't see myself making this a part of my regular experience as is.

  9. Further information:  I have Norton Security installed.  In addition to the normal AV functions, it records performance issues caused by processes.  I play Warframe on the daily.  As in, literally every day.  In the past three days, I have 10 alerts for high memory usage.  This is more than in the rest of September or August combined.

i'm quite surprised Warframe is that low on memory usage at any point, frankly.

i assume this is a 32-Bit version of Windows and/or you're playing Warframe in DirectX 9? as those could possibly explain why it's that low.
it doesn't however, explain memory usage changing by any significant degree. you may want to provide specific play situations as there aren't any noticeably sized Memory Leaks in Warframe as of current, but unusual combinations of things could ofcourse be broken in some fashion.

    Direct X 11, Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, 8 GB RAM, AMD 6300 (6 core), Radeon R7, 400 MHz, 6 GB RAM.

No changes in my config in about a month (and that was a simple reformat & reload).

No changes in hardware in over a year.

No particular mission types/scenarios.  It just seems to be a product of playing the game over a period of time.

Have been experiencing symptoms of a memory leak for the past day.  I can get about 4 moderately long (20 min) missions before the game becomes unplayable and eventually discos from host.  If I ctrl-alt-del and pull up taskmgr, I can see that I'm using around 1.6 GB of memory, and that keeps climbing, even as the game is locked/frozen.  There appears to be pretty heavy disk activity as well, my assumption is that this is a swap-fest taking place.

For contrast, just played a 10 round defense Nitain alert on the tileset formerly known as Draco.  Memory steady at 900 MB, disk I/O normal.  It pops up after longer use, consistently.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but I have heard that mastery rank actually affects the drop rates/rarity. I think. So maybe look for a squad with high mastery rank average and you should be good.

    I don't think that's correct.  I am a squad with high mastery rank :P

So out of all of those claimed "100" rounds, I'd suppose you got a bunch of Axi G1's, consider trading them and become a resourceful player. I do however notice Axi N3 is a very low chance, I have gotten them, I also have more of everything else and ended up trading for them.

There will always be parts we all do not like my friend, that's part of life, and games are reflections of life through fiction and imagination. Buy or trade for what you cannot get so quickly. Wouldn't be any fun if it was so easy now would it?

    Calm down there, Dr. Seuss.

While you may not have gotten the Axi key you wanted, you most certainly got an Axi key containing a new part at least a couple times. Trade those for the key you want, or run them for the rare part which you can then trade in for part you want. Even if you're not getting Nekros directly, you're getting him by proxy.

I'm sorry you had terrible luck, but we all do from time to time.

So, kinda to my point, right... I have all the other primes, the hundreds of relics I have stockpiled from the Keytacious era are pretty much useless.  I didn't think to trade them, so that's good to know.  So, I'm a spreadsheet gamer.  I've got tabs for my syndicates, my outstanding mastery, etc, etc.  On the tab that has my relics, I can see that for Nekros, Gal, and Tigris combined, in those 100 excavators, I've dropped the following:  1 Neo V3, 2 Axi A1, 1 Axi T1.  Now, as some said:

And yes, there's certainly that in play, but my rant is a little bit more about farming:  specifically, farming so that I can farm.

  15. So, Nekros has always been a personal favorite of mine, even after the jank desecrate changes.  Nekros prime, I gotta have, right?

But wait.  My stockpile of relics from previous primes is now completely useless, and can't be used to drop new prime parts.  Well, ok, I guess I just have to farm the new relics, right?

Not until tonight, my fifth straight night of farming relics, did it become apparent to me just how fracking terrible void 2.0 is.

So, in approximately 100 rounds of Heiracon, I haven't dropped a single Axi N3 (that's 25 C rounds; with the reported drop rate of .125, I should have 3 by now).  Even with a full crew of radiant relics, I'll need a full crew to get a BP in approximately 3 runs (on average, reported on the wiki), so that means somewhere around 300 rounds of Heiracon.

Wasn't the point of all this to reduce the repetition?  This is getting fracking tedious as hell.

In short, I do not like this.  I would not, could not in a tree.  Not in a car!  You broke it, DE.  I do not like it in a box.  I do not like it with a fox.  I do not like it in a house.  I do not like it with a mouse.  I do not like it here or there.  I do not like it anywhere.  I do not like relics and traces.  I do not like them, clem clem grakata!

  16. Agree with general consensus on movement system being... unworkable.  I seem to just randomly roll around like an old dog.  I tried playing a trench run, but finally just gave up on trying to use actual movement keys unless as a last resort.  Much more efficient to play connect the dots in melee.

I do like the new targeting reticle, and the general IDEA of a movement system that incorporates roll.  But guys, come on.  If you're going to add roll, I need explicit controls for that.

As to the camera, I haven't had a problem with it, but that may be masked by the disorientation from having my "up" be at 35 degrees off horizontal.

    Idunno man, read it.

Still tells me jack-all about how to actually function in this non-intuitive new era.

Old way:  Have key, select segment, click.

New way:  Place tender heart in blender; watch spin around into a beautiful oblivion; rendezvous.

  18. Well, it'll be a while before I put time into this game again.  You've got a lot to fix.  For one thing, the fissures?  Tearable.  Get it?  I can't equip a relic if someone on my squad has selected a node.  By the way, equipping a relic selects a node.  Fahagudatz.  Then, I go and just select the relic before squadding up, and get tossed into some PUG where half the team says "What's tear do loool?"  I should be able to select my dang relic without so much gul darn hassle.  I frankly don't care if you just make it a slot on the gear screen, so every time I play a round, that's the dang gul durn shampoo I'm bringing with me!  Do you even playtest, bruh?

    Furthermore:

    - new map system:  How?

    - kavats:  How?

    - what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks are all these new nodes for?

How about some documentation for those of us who don't want to sit through your devstreams?

I realize this has been a lot in the works, and it's a big change.  So how about some standard change management practices:  test the dang thing on actual people, make sure it doesn't suck, and for the love of god, hit me with more than brochureware and twitch feeds.  You spend too much time on this stuff not to polish it a bit more before release.
