  1. The last sortie I did was an assassination with enemy physical enhancement. I finished it just fine. Now I'm looking for a primary or secondary weapon that has base elemental damage and can perform well against bosses in higher levels such as sorties.

We have good shotguns and beam weapons with base elemental damage such as Arca Plasmor, but they either don't go very far or have damage fall-off, and I don't want to get too close to the boss, so I count them out. Then we have the Lanka, which does go far but is a sniper rifle; it may perform well against the Eidolons, but some bosses are more agile and my aim with a thumbstick on a controller isn't great (one reason why I want to move to PC). We also have launchers which deal a lot of elemental damage per explosion but are limited in ammo capacity. I just feel more comfortable using an assault rifle or auto/burst pistol such as Akstiletto Prime against most bosses. So, I'm left with a handful of primaries and secondaries.

For primaries, I'm left with the Torid, Hema, and Paracyst. The Torid may just be the strongest elemental weapon against most bosses in the game; land a sticky grenade on them and watch their health melt! Better with a Terminal Velocity and/or a Jet Stream Zephyr to speed up their projectile speed. Next, we have the Hema. I like that it has a good status chance and deals Viral damage at base, but I'd count that out unless I'm a healer frame because it draws ammo from health and heals me by landing headshots and I don't see how that helps against a boss. Finally, we have the Paracyst. Despite being a projectile-firing weapon, I think the Paracyst best fits my play style. I can reach 100% status chance with all 4 dual-stat mods. I also have that Zebra skin from an event a long time ago.

For building, should I go for crit+status hybrid or just status+raw damage? Paracyst and Hema have only 10% and 11% critical chance, reaching 25% and 27.5% with a max Point Strike, respectively, which might be okay for 3-round burst rifles? (probably not for Hunter Munitions) I'd want Corrosive for bosses with armor, for sure, but I don't want Blast; I'd rather go with Heat or Cold. That means I won't get a 100% status chance, but then again they're not shotguns. Would Heavy Caliber be OK for the Paracyst as well, seeing it has an accuracy rating of 50 just like Boltor Prime?

I looked at the secondaries and I don't see any one that meets my criteria except for maybe the Staticor? I can certainly go for a crit+status hybrid build, but the projectiles are slow (again, best with Jet Stream Zephyr). What about Sancti Castanas, Pox, or even Stug?

Is there another primary or secondary better for assassination sorties with enemy physical enhancement?

  2. I lucked out on the Silva and Aegis Prime, Tiberon Prime, Pyrana Prime, and Destreza Prime, so I'm quite happy with that! I got the Destreza Prime blade from one intact Meso D2 relic, the Pyrana Prime blueprint from a random, a Tiberon Prime stock from just one radiant Meso T2, and a Silva and Aegis Prime Guard from a radiant Neo S7. I have just been really unlucky at getting a Sybaris Prime barrel.

I might just be spending a long time farming excavation, survival and defense missions for relics, and void fissures for void traces, Forma, and prime junk to sell for Ducats. I missed out on quite a bit of stuff from Baro Ki'Teer's Tennocon relay; I only managed to get a Primed Fever Strike, but I may just have enough Ducats to buy other stuff that I want such as Prisma Obex and a bunch of cosmetics, by the next time he brings them. I would also be farming the latest primes to sell so that I could buy some old primes like that Sybaris Prime barrel.

Maybe I should go for Ballistica Prime next, as that one has a unique ability as well as the Pyrana Prime. Going for dual primes such as Nami Skyla Prime and Akbolto Prime is going to be really time-consuming, unless I buy their rare parts with plat, of course.

I don't think that Sybaris Prime is a weaker version of Dex Sybaris; that fact that it has a high status chance and deals all 3 physical damage types at base including Slash means that I don't need to equip Hunter Munitions and that I can land multiple status effects such as Viral and Slash using only dual-stat mods and maybe a Hammer Shot.

  3. Honestly, I don't see any advantage of a controller over mouse+keyboard in a shooter game like Warframe other than playing more comfortably in front of a large TV. There are lapdesk solutions for PC that allow you to play your PC games with a mouse and keyboard on the couch and in front of a large TV, but those are expensive and require a cable coming from the PC next to the TV over to the couch. Controllers are better for a number of video game genres such as platformers and racing games.

Until the UI change in the console versions, I was able to navigate the menus just fine.

  4. I've been hosting Meso S7 Relics and nobody asked to join. I asked why, and they said "nothing good" or "it's the middle of the night". Not even the members of the clan that I'm in wanted to join me. Then I used up all of my radiant Meso S7 Relics and Void Traces to try to get a Sybaris Prime Barrel, and none of them yielded it. NONE OF THEM!!! I am very upset, right now.

I think nobody wants to obtain Sybaris Prime by relics right now is because, what you might say is, Sybaris Prime is essentially a weaker Dex Sybaris; it has a lower critical chance and, though it has a 25% status chance, it does NOT proc status effects reliably, unlike faster weapons such as Braton Prime and Tiberon Prime, because it is a slow, 2-round burst rifle which is best built towards critical damage. The only way I'll be able to get my hands on a barrel is to buy it from somebody for plat. I guess I'll be farming popular prime parts and Rivens for popular weapons, and it will take me a while to get a lot of plat so that I can buy prime parts as well as cosmetics and slots.

And that got me thinking: are prime warframes and weapons necessary to enjoy the game, even at higher levels? There are players who buy prime warframes and weapons from those who have played the game longer and are even just trading in the game. But then there are players like me, who don't buy platinum all the time, get fed up with the RNG and simply give up farming prime warframes/weapons and rare and valuable mods altogether, so I try to enjoy the game with what little I have and try to get by at higher-level content such as Sanctuary Onslaught. Prime warframes are only slightly stronger than their non-prime counterparts, and there are good alternatives to prime weapons already such as the Amprex, Sancti Tigris, Vaykor Marelok, and the Zaws, so that means you can enjoy the game without prime gear, right? That certainly beats farming relics, void traces, and void fissures to get the prime stuff that you want. So is buying them...

Do I need Sybaris Prime? No, absolutely not. I'm happy with what I already have so far, such as my Akstiletto Prime, Euphona Prime, Tigris Prime, and Galatine Prime. I've been getting the latest prime gear until I stopped playing over a year ago when the Second Dream came out on consoles, so I guess I'll stop right now. Farming not-so-popular prime stuff via relics isn't worth my time.

  5. When I was in the Philippines, I saw power strips in the stores which have outlets that accept more than one type of power plug. They look kinda like this.

I looked in the stores back here in Canada and I couldn't find any power strip like that; only portable travel adapters. I asked my PS4 WF friend from Utah if he was able to find power strips like that, and he said no. Stores in the UK have converters, which allow you to plug appliances with europlugs into UK outlets. There are converters like that in Philippine stores as well, but not in Canadian stores.

If you live outside of North America, are you able to find power strips like the ones in the Philippines, which accept more than one type of power plug?

for what it's worth, nothing resists Slash Status. i.e. Physical Enhancement doesn't apply to Slash Status so if your Weapons apply strong Slash Status in a reliable enough fashion, you'll still obliterate everything.

and Viral, ofcourse. fun fact, Viral+Radiation is higher Damage/faster Killing than Corrosive vs Infested Eximus if your Status rate is high enough that you can apply them fairly reliably.

Now that you mention it, I do have a Lesion. Maybe I should build that towards all factions on sorties with enemy physical enhancement. It won't deal as much damage, but those Slash procs...

Against Grineer, I would have all 4 dual-stat mods arranged for Viral and Radiation, Condition Overload, Primed Pressure Point, Shattering Impact, and either Life Strike, Healing Return, or Buzz Kill for more Slash damage. I'd use the same build for Infestation since they have MOAs that give them armor. Against the Corpus, the build will be similar except that the dual-stat mods are arranged for Gas and Magnetic and with Primed Reach instead of Shattering Impact. Against the Corrupted, It's a bit more complicated, but I decided to stick with a similar build to the Corpus but with the dual-stat mods arranged for Corrosive and Blast. With all 4 CP's against Grineer, I'd just bring my Galatine Prime with my build(s) above, or on sorties with enemy physical enhancement, my first Lesion build or another high-status melee weapon replacing Shattering Impact with Primed Fury, another Slash-damage mod or a Weeping Wounds.

Now that I think of it, I could build my Cassowar for non-tank/healer frames (because of its longer reach and faster attack speed) and Lesion for tanks/healers, mainly due to the limited number of mod configurations that you can make for each weapon (3), or I could build another Lesion...

  7. I wanted to make a crit+CO build for my Galatine Prime, but as it turned out, I ran out of mod slots to work with. Without attack speed mods, even heavy blades and hammers such as Galatine Prime feel really slow even with an attack speed of 1.00, which is why I often run with Primed Fury installed on them. With Blood Rush, Drifting Contact, Primed Reach, Primed Pressure Point, Primed Fury, and Condition Overload, I'm left with 2 mod slots. I usually add a Life Strike or Healing Return into my melee builds, and for melee weapons with 14-20% base critical chance, I add a True Steel to get orange crits early on in my combos. In the end, I have no more mod slots to add any dual-stat elemental mods or a Weeping Wounds into the build. I end up with a critical build replacing Condition Overload with an Organ Shatter, and I won't have any room for any elemental mods. I guess I'll stick with the former build, replacing LS/HR with Buzz Kill or Organ Shatter if I have a tank/healer frame like Oberon. A kind of a shame since I like wielding great swords and 2-handed katanas.

I give up at this point and, looking at the melee weapons that I have now, I decided to use one melee weapon for a different purpose. I don't main melee, so status builds with Condition Overload and no combo duration mods such as Body Count could work well for me.

Now that I have the Endura, I plan on making a build with all 4 dual-stat mods arranged for Corrosive and Blast against high-level Grineer, leaving me with only 4 mod slots to work with. Then the obvious: Condition Overload, Primed Pressure Point, and Primed Fury, and 1 last slot to work with. I'd add a Healing Return for most warframes, or a Finishing Touch (because Blast status knocks enemies down opening them up for finishers) or Smite Grineer for a tank/healer warframe. On Grineer sorties with enemy physical enhancement, I use the same build(s) on the Dark Split-Sword with a heavy blade stance. On Grineer sorties with enemy elemental enhancement, I'd use a Destreza Prime with a crit+CO build and no elemental mods: Blood Rush, Drifting Contact, Primed Pressure Point, Berserker, Weeping Wounds, Shattering Impact, Condition Overload, and either Life Strike, Smite Grineer, Auger Strike, Rending Strike, or Organ Shatter. The armor at higher levels is quite ridiculous!

Against the Corpus, I'd like a melee weapon that has good reach so that I don't go inside of the Nullifier bubbles, disabling an ability that I need to survive. I looked at the Cassowar and I like the stats on that weapon: long reach, a good attack speed, a good status chance, and good slash damage. My build will be similar to the one for the Endura, except that the dual-stat mods are arranged for Gas and Magnetic, Primed Reach instead of Primed Fury, and either Shattering Impact, Smite Corpus or (Primed) Fever Strike with tank/healer frames. On Corpus sorties with enemy physical enhancement, I'd use Secura Lecta with a similar build as my Cassowar, only replacing Voltaic Strike with (Primed) Fever Strike and/or Molten Impact to increase that Gas damage. On Corpus sorties with enemy elemental enhancement, I'd use my Jat Kittag with Blood Rush, Drifting Contact, Primed Reach, Primed Pressure Point, Primed Fury, Weeping Wounds, Condition Overload, and either Life Strike, Smite Corpus, Primed Heavy Trauma, or even True Steel.

Against the Infestation, my Galatine Prime with the build above is my go to melee weapon in most cases. Infestation are resistant to Impact, Toxin, Gas, Magnetic, Viral and Radiation damage types, are only weaker against Slash, Heat and Corrosive, and are not really affected by most status types except maybe Cold and Radiation, so I often go for crit-only or crit+CO builds on my melee weapons against them. On Infested Sorties with enemy physical enhancement, I'd use Jat Kusar with (Primed) Fever Strike and Shocking Touch together for Corrosive damage, Blood Rush, Body Count, Primed Reach, Primed Fury, Primed Pressure Point, and either Life Strike, Molten Impact, or Smite Infested. On Infested sorties with enhanced enemy armor, I'd use Tonbo with Voltaic Strike, Virulent Scourge and Volcanic Edge arranged for Corrosive and Heat, Condition Overload, Primed Pressure Point, Primed Fury, Primed Reach, and either Life Strike, Healing Return, Smite Infested, or Molten Impact to increase that Heat damage.

I could go on with the Corrupted, the Sentients (thanks to the Sacrificial mods), and the Grineer with all of their armor stripped via 4 Corrosive Projections, but I'll stop it here for now. Are these good builds against their respective factions?

There are the Zaws as well. Once I get my Ostron reputation up, I'll pick up some zaw parts and build zaws with end-game-viable stats. I've yet to build my 2-handed Plague Kripath with a high attack speed, decent crit chance and high status chance, making it an end-game-viable weapon against almost every faction!

Also, the changes to melee will be coming eventually with stat changes, so when that happens these builds will probably be outdated.

  8. Right now, Sony is receiving backlash for not allowing cross-platform play for popular multi-platform games like Minecraft, Rocket League, and Fortnite on PS4. Once Sony does allow cross-platform play, I'm wondering, will Warframe ever get cross-platform play?

I understand that PC players get the latest updates to Warframe and we "console peasant" players get them later due to Sony's and Microsoft's certification process. Is it fair to us? Maybe.

Still, I want to be able to play with other players across all platforms. There are more PC players than there are console players, and I'd like a higher chance of joining a group on any difficult mission on the star chart, such as Hieracon (because I don't want to farm Syndicate standing and spend it on relic packs to get Axi relics). Plus, if I wanted to move to PC, my progress will be there (I don't want to start all over again).

Adding cross-platform play would also be good for Nintendo Switch players if DE decides to port the game to the Switch.

  9. After the Sacrifice quest has been released for you PC players, I looked at the mods that come with it: the Umbral mods and Sacrificial mods. Right now, only Excalibur Umbra and Skiajati have the Umbra polarities to fit those mods for half mod capacity drain and there is no way to add Umbra polarities to other warframes and weapons. With both Sacrificial mods on a melee weapon, you can deal more damage to Sentients, which often come into Lua missions. Thing is, Sentients are immune to status effects, so a crit+CO hybrid build wouldn't be very effective on them and a high crit build with Shattering Impact and maybe Berserker would be better against them. The idea is to kill them quickly with a few melee strikes before they adapt to the damage types that the weapon provides. The Skiajati has the two Umbra polarities to fit both Sacrificial mods but it has a rather low base crit chance of only 15% and a good status chance of 27%, so a crit+CO hybrid build would be more suitable for this melee weapon. That's why I'm looking for alternative melee weapons to equip the two mods on.

There are the Zaws, of course. One with a Dehat strike, a Vargeet II Ruhang link, and a slow, higher-damage grip and modded with Berserker and Blood Rush would do great against Sentients, I imagine, based on the damage types that they are weaker against (before their resistances kick in). I don't have a high Ostron ranking, so I can't build one right now because I can't buy the links or the resource blueprints due to my low Ostron ranking. So, I turn to named melee weapons for now.

There are quite a few melee weapons with a good base crit chance (over 20%), and right now I'm looking at the Dual Keres: they're fast, have a high base crit chance and good crit damage multiplier, and deal impact damage which make them viable for Shattering Impact. I haven't made the build yet, but here's what I'm going to aim for: https://goo.gl/UdwGzw. It will take a whopping 5 Forma, because of the inability to add Umbra polarities, which would otherwise take as little Forma as with other melee weapon builds. I have other melee weapons that I can use against other factions, such as the Dual Krohkur, simply because they are not immune to status effects so that I can use CO builds against them.

Are the Dual Keres a good melee weapon to build against the Sentients? How about other high-crit melee weapons like the Guandao, the Krohkur, or even the Fragor Prime?

  10. We've joined a clan called "Disintegrators". A recruiter sent us invites after I asked to join a "sizable, active clan with no inactivity limit" in Recruiting chat. Currently, it has over 800 members. Is it a good clan? Does it have everything that I'm looking for? I'll have to see for myself.

  11. Since I started playing Warframe on PS4 almost 5 years ago, I was in a small clan made by one of my PS Home friends and his buddies. Much of the dojo was planned and decorated by one clan member in the early days, but since I played so much of Warframe I contributed to much of the clan research later on over the years. I was also able to get all of the mods, warframes and prime stuff except for PvP stuff and arcanes. Shortly after the Second Dream update came out for console over a year ago, I stopped playing Warframe, because I was tired of the grind and it was getting complicated for me.

I came back only a month or two ago because a friend in the same clan wanted to play with me online again. The small clan that I'm in has been pretty much neglected over the months; no research done for good things like the Archwing Launcher segment and I didn't have the resources to contribute even though it is a shadow clan, so I couldn't keep up with other players on the Plains. I was able to finish all of the quests so far and get most of the new warframes. I've been trying to get new mods like Condition Overload and the latest prime gear, but I get burnt out of the grind fairly quickly. I tried to get CO by transmutation, but all I did was waste thousands of credits and rare mods and got a Guardian Derision, a Twirling Spire and a bunch of Covert Lethalities as well as a ton of junk mods. My friend and I are also trying to get Khora from Sanctuary Onslaught; I'm missing the systems and blueprint, but most of the time we get matched with low MR players and we don't reach the end of zone 8. I see why even standard Sanctuary Onslaught is considered to be end-game: the enemies scale very quickly and the efficiency drains faster. Looks like I'll never be able to get Khora until the prime comes out which won't be for another 2 years or more. Also I don't have a lot of Ducats like I had before (thanks to the old Void Tower key system and a lot of Bronco Prime parts), so I can't buy things like Primed Cryo Rounds.

Now I'm looking for a different, larger clan for me and my friend. One that is full of active players and helpful to new and returning players. The thing is, I do take breaks from warframe and play a single-player game from time to time, so I won't be around all the time to contribute my resources or help newer players with things like gathering warframe parts or farming resources/endo, and I would appreciate it if the other clan members would be OK with me not being there all the time. I could certainly use the help to get things that are hard to get like Khora, Condition Overload, corrupted mods, prime gear, and even arcanes. My friend could use more help as well, because he has a low MR and is more of a casual player. Completed research for things like the Archwing Launcher and the Lenz are also appreciated. I do have all of the corrupted mods and multiple forma for frames like Nova and Saryn so that I can contribute in missions such as Defense and Interception. I also have most of the Acolyte mods including Blood Rush and Body Count, Primed Pressure Point, Primed Point Blank, Primed Fury, and all of the dual-stat mods to make my weapons strong.

If you are in a clan or know one that could take me and my friend in, that would be great! We haven't left our shadow clan, yet, and I'll have to talk to him before we leave. I'll let you know if we are ready to join. Thanks!

  12. My biggest disappointment is Forma and Orokin potatoes. Seriously? This is taking rebirthing in White Knight Chronicles to a whole new level (yes, I've played that piece of crap on PS3, and that's where I met one of my friends who plays this game as well). I don't want to level up my warframes and weapons over and over again to make them usable above enemy level 10 or use certain builds/mods; I just want to take them into just about any content in the game. The starting mod capacity that we get which scales at mastery rank does help that a little.

  13. What about autistic pride? Pride month is not just for LGBT, but also for people diagnosed with ASDs and other diagnoses that don't make someone neurotypical.

OK, I don't particularly agree with labels, but they do help people...get help...

  14. I'd say I'm a "mobile turret". That is, whenever I shoot I hold down the aim button and when I move, I move as fast as I can but still slowly, and I depend more on my weapons than my frames. That's why I use a tank frame like Rhino or Inaros or, for some mission types like defense, a support/defensive frame like Frost.

  15. I got it, finally. It only took me several tries to get it from Copernicus. I tried Plato in public and the room didn't spawn for me.

The Octavia Chassis blueprint may be a guaranteed reward, but it is STILL bound by RNG because of that puzzle room not popping up all the time.

  16. According to the wiki page, I can get Octavia's Chassis blueprint from the choral musical note memory puzzle in Lua missions. I've been running Copernicus (Capture) solo many times over and the puzzle room NEVER showed up for me. I looked everywhere, and it didn't show up.

What am I doing wrong, here? What is a better mission to get this room to spawn? That is, the mission and/or settings that give me the highest chance of having the choral musical note puzzle room to spawn.

  17. 1 hour ago, o.0- said:

Well, I'll start with a question, what warframes and weapons do you have that you like using the most? I think starting there would be good then can get into things like Kuva and Onslaught.

For primary and secondary, I like using auto/burst fire weapons, shotguns, launchers and beam weapons such as Ignis Wraith, but on the Plains, I bring a sniper rifle like Rubico and Lanka so that I can target enemies from a distance. For melee weapons, I have Blood Rush, Primed Pressure Point, Primed Fury, Primed Reach, and Maiming Strike, but no Condition Overload nor Guardian Derision, so my only option for now is crit. I use polearms and greatswords most of the time.

As for warframes, I use only 1 or 2 abilities depending on the mission type. For stealth missions like Spy, just Loki with Hushed Invisibility and Ivara. For defense-type missions, it's Frost, Vauban and slow/speed Nova, and Limbo for defending personnel on sorties and energy regen. For farming/survival, it's Nekros with 3 of his augments. For most boss fights, it's Banshee with Resonance augment for Sonar. For healing/buffing the squad, it's Oberon. For speed runs, it's Ember and Volt. In most cases, a tank frame like Rhino and Inaros.

I typically depend more on my weapons than my warframes and companions in missions.

  18. I stopped playing Warframe over a year ago when the Second Dream came out on consoles because it was getting too complicated for me, not to mention the BS RNG when it comes to desirable gear and mods such as Primes, but I came back because a friend wanted to play with me online again

The Kuva farming methods, the current Focus system, the methods to kill Eidolons, warframes with synergizing abilities, dealing with Eximus units especially parasitic eximi; they are rather complicated for me to wrap my mushy head around. I'm not a good team player, which is why quite a few players hate me, but I just want to jump in and have fun without anyone expressing their hate of my play style or builds. And I'm very, what do you call it, sensitive? My feelings get hurt when somebody gets so negative on me. The toxicity of online communities is the reason why I play mostly single-player games. The time I had away from Warframe and other online multiplayer games was a breath of fresh air for me. Recently I played the Plague Star event several times, and though I was successful every time, some of them were struggles, and one player hated my Nova build (I thought it was a slow build already with no power strength mods) and left being pissed when the going got hard, but another player joined, I stayed, and we took the 4th Hemocyte down once and for all! Another time, I was going into late T4 Defense with a friend and his buddies, and one of them slammed me for not building my Frost "properly" -- Rejuvenation instead of CP, and no extra range on the Snow Globe. I got so upset I left the squad and blocked him. I don't want to deal with these meanies anymore! I just want to jump in and play the game my way!

Weapon builds are simple enough for me to understand, but I'd like some easy/simple warframe and companion builds that keep me useful at higher-level content especially in Sancutary Onslaught. I'm not a good team player so I don't have much arcanes if at all, and I'm struggling to understand the new Focus system. I don't have much Forma or good mods like Condition Overload, either, but I do farm Syndicate standing. I often build for power efficiency and extra health and shields because, for me, energy is scarce and, at the higher levels, enemies hit me REALLY HARD. How other players can survive without power efficiency, Life Strike or warframes with healing abilities amazes me.

I'm in a small clan that doesn't have much active players nor does it have research for good stuff like the Archwing Launcher segnent or the Lenz. Should I move to a larger, more active clan that helps newbies and returning players like me? I HATE GRINDING AND FARMING and want to get it done as quickly as possible so that I can actually enjoy the game like the casual, non-co-ordinated player that I've always been.

Sounds like Warframe is not for me, nor is every other online multiplayer game, is it? You'd probably be right. But I started playing this game because I saw another friend playing it when the PS4 came out and, Warframe being free to play, I tried it out and, somehow, got hooked. I even suggested the former friend to play because it was free, and yet he is still MR 11. I've actually made a few friends here, but nowadays they don't play Warframe very often anymore. Still, I stop for some time and play a single-player game. Right now, I have a rather large backlog of games, most of which are single-player, thanks to steam sales and PSN flash sales. Also, I like to go for the platinum trophy for some games on PlayStation. It would be great if I could simply jump in whenever the next event hits PS4 Warframe without being completely useless.

Sorry for the long post. I did bold some key points in this topic to make it easier for you to help me. Thank you in advance.

  19. It's been over a year since I stopped playing WF, and when I came back on I encountered players with glyphs that consist of a fox with its eyes and mouth wide open and a kid wearing a duck onesie and drinking from a juice box. I couldn't find them in the market or in the profile icon selection. How do I get some of these glyphs?

  20. I've been having login issues for 3 days straight. Keeps me out for the most part, and if I do get in I get kicked out shortly after. Nobody else seems to have this problem but me. It's driving me insane.
