  1. IMHO, the Zenistar should be chargeable — the pro is dealing more damage for more time (like it used to be) but the con is you're vulnerable to attack — AND a melee weapons should be charge attacks that better reflect the weapon type.

ALSO, I think some weapons should get unique charge attacks (like Sancti Magistar and Caustacyst). Sibear comes to mind, maybe Lacera, Mire. These don't have to be gamebreaking, but charge attacks that do something unique to make moment-to-moment melee gameplay more interesting.

While everyone wants to know the date Fortuna comes out, I want to know where is the Dev workshop for Melee 3.0?

    I concur...

Fortuna looks amazing!  Let me repeat, AMAZING!

But personally, reworks (like Nezha's recent re-tool), the mainline update (big QoL stuff), and cosmetics (facelifts), are more meaningful to me personally.

That's why I'm more excited for Melee 3.0 as well...

DE has stated that content for Fortuna will be released in parts as it gonna be a big update so if they were gonna delay are blood an gore lady it wouldn't affect the release for Fortuna as DE would just put it into a later update if they change up her kit.

I personally want to play her kit as it is as will be pretty fun playing with all that cherry koolaid i was seeing floating about

Well, if your forum tag as an XB1 player means anything, it's that you'll have to wait regardless...

DE was a triple A developer when Warframe released... So let's kindly can that tripe.

Not really...The game is still F2P.

We get stuff when they get it to us... And if we don't like it, we go play other things until they do...Same as with any other F2P game.

     Do tell?

I'm very interested in this...What are those aspirations exactly? What goals did Leyou make for DE regarding content releases, revenue year over year expectations per revenue stream, new accounts, concurrent plays/time, and buys per player?

I'd love to know and you seem eager to educate... So do, please, tell us.

Golly, I'm so confused about that... I mean how does a studio that hasn't done any significant hiring for their flagship game actually manage to significantly expand it?

...You seem to have an actual answer to this so please share.

Your post count is a badge of honor indirectly displaying your passion for the game and involvement in its community, but what's with the vitriolic tone dressed in upbeat sarcasm?

One thing I love about this community is the generally conversational tone *I feel* the vast majority of fans seem to have with one another regardless of topic...

And I think you're the perfect person to have as a part of the larger discussion on "content droughts" and everything else that goes with it given your purported knowledge familiarity with the subject...

But man Tenno, why not err on the side of being constructive/inquisitive.

If you are in a desert...You aren't experiencing a drought.

DE has apologized for content slowdowns numerous times over the years...That doesn't make this time special Bud.

..It just means someone whined especially loudly.

    Welcome to Warframe?

If you want to have your cake and eat it too...You need to be prepared to pay for two cakes.

Are you prepared to pay for that?

DE's unprecedented growth, success, and attention (from industry, press, and fans) challenges the dev team and the community to evolve their attitudes and perspectives with the game.

Warframe isn't stuck in a time warp.  DE isn't a garage studio anymore.

Content slowdown/droughts become harder to just "gee shucks" away like some video game 'Mr. Smith Goes To Washington' making their first game to a small niche community.

With increased aspirations from DE and Leyou come increased expectations from this not-so-small studio and this community of millions.

It's not about Fortuna, it's about the next 4 "Fortunas", the next 10 warframes, and the next 20 micro-content updates.

Engaged players = active users = $$$ = more DE and more Warframe

  6. IMHO a content drought is a logical outcome of of stagnated growth re: DE personnel/new hires + 3 (almost 4) platforms that have content disparity.

I speculate that Leyou has directly or indirectly put pressure on DE's leadership team to produce re$ult$ (which is great for the organization's financial health) without adding more costs to the company's balance sheet.

I think this means that even if DE spent some time, money, and effort to expedite Warframe's updates/content across 4 platforms by growing the workforce and streamlining their process (which, I would argue is a move that might illicit greater revenue gains and grow the playerbase predictably for the long term) it would take some convincing to sway the primary shareholders without the short-term monetary gains everyone seems used to.

DE needs to plan for the long haul, not in terms of content, but in terms of IP stability and growth through the next generation of console lifecycles at least.

Devstreams, blogs, and DE employee social media just doesn't show much strategizing beyond the content for the next 6 to 12 months.

  7. Pets need a complete review.

MOAs are just bandages for temporary relief.

Vacuum is DEs unwanted child, but something born from their self-made game-flow choices, physics issues/unit collision, and sub-par non-sentinel (once, non-carrier) companion utility at all levels of difficulty.

  8. 2 hours ago, ReinAxefury said:

You know what would be a good solution? Just make sentinel weapons have their own mods. Same Damage/Multishot/Fire Rate etc as with primaries, but specifically for sentinel weapons. No mod conflicts, no need for duplicates and potential for more modding options.

    THAT'S CRAZY TALK!

Doing this would run the risk of potentially making sentinels valuable beyond vacuum—and no one wants that....

I hate it when people don't listen. Doesn't matter if it's newbie or veteran.

If I'm joining pub, I don't really care if its your first time as long as you listen. But of course I don't really expect you to know what I'm talking about right away but you should at least try.

If its too overwhelming for you just take a step back someplace then watch what we're doing and learn from there. Any decent player wouldn't blame you for that.

And just like real life, there's different kind of people. Sometimes you meet the bad one, other times the good one. That guy could've been matched with newbies all night and he's sick of it or he just dislike newbies in general, but who knows? Don't let this this experience let you down, keep trying and you'll meet the right person.

    ^Great point(s)!

And it's worth saying that players have to learn somehow—firsthand experience is most often the best way...

  10. I'm MR 17 or 18 (honestly don't remember), and I was in a hunt as Oberon, with a Harrow, Chroma, Rhino (public)...

The Harrow blocked almost none of the radial damage pulses, and then ridiculed me for struggling to keep everyone + the lures healed.

He touted his veterancy as he scolded me.

If he knew the mechanics of Renewal (regardless of the hallowed ground buff w/renewal active) and the energy drain on the caster despite Zenurik's ED and energy pizzas, perhaps he'd have withheld his criticism.

My point is what's already been said:

    Be a team player...

Try to "listen" to your team and their needs (even if there are no mics)...

    Be willing to learn...

Right, I'll keep that in mind as well. But I might want to get a bit more helpful in squads in the meantime

Absolutely, and I think that is a really proactive and humble way to go about Eidolons as someone who isn't a skilled and/or frequently successful hunter.

I think your attitude is indicative of a community ideal, so...way to set a good example 🙂

  12. MR does not = veterancy or competency, it's a singular number that represents how many weapons, frames, pets/sentinels a person leveled, rinsed, and repeated.

I'm not saying an MR25 player can't be a Warframe expert or sage, just note one doesn't automatically beget the other.

But, on the topic of priming weapons... Will we ever see a primed versions of the weapons used by the shadow stalker? I mean, he's a tenno. Dread, Despair and Hate could be from him, too, or could even be older. He's a tenno, a fallen one, but still. And he's hunting other tennos. Maybe that he was in the side of the Orokins, and since we're part a reason why they are extinct... It wouldn't be that far stretched to think that the Orokins might have wanted to give the Stalker better weapon, for their best assassin ( if he was their ally. While reading the lore, I have thus feeling. ) Primed versions of the one he is using, and in term of lore, it could easily be "found" in a derelict, abandoned, once thought lost. I think we have a better chance to get his version primed than his War. ( Also we already have a primed bow that deals Impact, a Primed bow that deals Puncture, and if I'm not mistaken, we still don't have a primed bow for slash. And HO GOD I would like a probe version of Dread. )

IMHO, I would love to have a story quest where the Tenno awaken the Stalker's weapons and unlock passives for each.

But they already stated that it was made out of Hunhow himself

    Sure...

And (in my theoretical fan-fic explanation) it was based on a design used by ancient Dex Elite (information the Hunhow would be aware of).  The Hunhow has all knowledge of the Orokin era, including weapons, history, etc., so again, lore could easily explain a War Prime through (for example) my spit-balled statement that the Hunhow basically bastardized/repurposed an old design—thematically it's really no different than any of the infested weapons currently available.

My point is just that lore can easily explain something into existence if and when there's a gap in the lore..and in this case, there is 🙂

    Will never happen.

"Never" is a word that is perpetually begging to be challenged...

Warframe lore is so open to possibility that I wouldn't rule anything out.

EX: "War was born from an ancient Orokin design used by the most elite of Dex warriors, but twisted by centuries of hate held by the Sentients and fueled by the Stalker's rage.  War Prime is the 'true form' of this 2-handed weapon that once cut a swath of justice and order across the Orokin Empire."

^There, I just rationalized the existence of a new Prime weapon.

the one from the update pc got today. I don't have the link but I can sum it up for you. the thralls pillars will now fire off seeker rounds like the phantasma alt fire. if you hit the pillar with danse macabre itll explode dealing radial damage. Mesmer skin is now recastable. reave has been reduced from 75 to 50 base energy. reaving through thralls with Mesmer skin active will add charges. reave goes based off of cursor direction not warframe direction. reaving a teammate with Mesmer skin will provide a defensive buff to them. reave also provides 100% immunity to damage

I just saw the build notes LOL...

Yes, you are correct—these are worth getting excited for!

I know this stuff wont be in our build tomorrow but de PLEASE SEND IT TO CERT ON ITS OWN these revenant changes look amazing.

What changes are you referring to—do you have a link perchance?

The changes I've seen, thus far, appear to be incredibly lackluster and NOT informed by community feedback at all.

Passives in this game are long but forgotten, as they do literally nothing, except for Mag, because self vacuum is always great and should be on every frame doing bullet jumps.

...or they're horribly inconsistent in terms of quality.  IMHO Ash, Excal (Umbra included), and Nekros have some viable passives.  As DE adds more frames I think at some point passives will need to be readdressed for long-term viability and balance.
