  1. Gonna be testing a viral+slash dagger build in index tom but i wanted to check if slash procs are any good vs robotic enemies.

The other thing i wanted to ask is if puncture on balla is a bad thing and should i try getting more slash for it. Also does CO affect slash procs?

I know, so many questions but i wanted to ask em before i test it.

  2. Id say teamplay revolves around frame choice and mission type. For missions where you need to protect a target, having only a dps or nuke frame wont do anything if the target gets hurt or downed. Same with survival where you want to have a loot frame to keep life support up past 30mins.

Capture, spy and exterminate are the ones you can do solo but unless you have a good setup or have decent player knowledge,  youll need help for the other mission types.

And theres this notion that the best cc is death but considering how hectic things can get solo, for the average player thats not usually the best option.

The results screen stats means nothing if the mission fails.

I usually use Wisp. Set up 1 of each pod at either base.  Everyone gets a nice speed boost, electric stun and health cushion. Equip a Tonkor and catchmoon for the win. Maybe a Zenistar with corrupt charge for some 20 second blast attacks at base. With the new melee changes can pretty much just one shot any mob in the game with my Hate Sythe. Could use that but i find it rather cheesy mechanics and kinda boring. So i tend to go with something more fun for melee.

Other times I will use Khora. She is very good at being a runner because her cat can use vacume and suck up all the points and mods. Her net is also amazing. As far as weapons go, anything with super high rad damage seems to do the trick. Fulmin is nice as well as kitguns with pax charge. Never need to get ammo refills.

Used to love using Revenant. He is pretty good in index to.

Im curious, how survivable is khora in high lvl index? Can she carry points or is she more of a killer frame?

Yea I just got WuPrime and wonder why people are making all these other nerf threads lol. The whole game is op it seems lol.

They consider him nerfed due to the melee rework essentially making his 4 useless(their words not mine).

Imo hes a really good frame and with the new arcanes, you can play him however you want. The crit buffs will make exalted weaps good enough to be an option to use again

Follow-up question: because a gas proc deals toxic damage, does a gas proc on, say, a ferrite Grineer (weak to toxic, strong against gas) deal more or less damage?

Id say it deals more dmg but because they still have armor, it counteracts the weakness.

With armor= even my strongest gas weap only deals miniscule dmg

    Stripped= they die instantly.

If your Lich doesn't have the bloodhound quirk they are hilariously weak against Ivara, I killed my first Lich that way, just stayed in stealth and whacked her over and over with my Paracesis.

Though thinking back to it, I would have had a more engaging fight if I used my Chroma Prime.

How do you view quirks? Ive been looking for a paranoid one cause thatd just be awesome to have on a mission.

  7. Idk, most of my status setups shred things just as fast as the crit builds ive seen.

My rakta dagger for example shreds even nox at 120+.

Honestly im tempted to try show casing my status weaps with all the ppl claiming status weapons are dead.

I know my mates current lich is immune to everything but corrosive.  I don't envy him lol

Its important to note tho that while theyre immune, they still use the armor type weak to corrosive so its not that bad to use it on them.

Something that was pointed out is hammers do more finisher damage than daggers in general which is...hilarious. Honestly I was expecting daggers to get more of a crit buff or something to make em stand out more from other melee as they are...still lacking after the melee.

Daggers have higher follow through than hammers which honestly im fine with. Makes sense you can pierce multiple enemies.

For hammers having higher finisher dmg, id say that comes down to them being a one hit kill kind of deal.

  10. I shoudlve clarified how i was killing em lol. Im using an armor stripping dagger so armor isnt the issue, its just around 175+ when suddenly most of my dmg is only tickling them. Ill give it a shot later with hildryns one but its kinda hard to take my time aiming while everything else is chaotic.

Any recommended secondaries? Im assuming catchmoon or tombfinger is good.

As far as I remember, it's the toxin value, faction mods, and crit. If the shot that triggered the gas proc was a crit, then the toxin procs will be strong

But would that be the same for a melee hit? And if so, does that mean adding more cd would benefit?

  12. Stealth frames till they patch it out and a decent crit weap. If yer on pc even better since heavy attack setups are pretty op.

Other frames ive had success killing lvl 5 liches are volt and mirage(if they arent resistant of course).

Also remember cc skills still work on them like khora or nova.

Forget status weaps tho since theyre status immune. Otherwise id be shredding them with my dagger setup regardless of their lvl.

Also this is why you need to really consider what frame you use to spawn them. Ive heard horror stories of ppl who made their liches with rhino since theyll use iron skin. I know its not completely set tho since my lich from ivara still had corrupted ground

Daggers really don't offer any concrete advantage over any other melee due to:

    - short range

    - low damage

    - no special features

Covert lethality gave them back a very specific niche role: mob assassination

    1) Range got fixed with the update. Now i dont have to be hugging an enemy to kill them.

    2) Their dmg is low yes but their dps can be high with the right setup. They wont be beating any weapons in the pure dng category thats for sure and it shouldnt be expected of them to.

Theres a reason theres a huge difference between dual daggers and daggers rn.

    3) bleed proc on heavy, initial combo count for the whole weapon category plus corrupt charge letting them start out higher than other weap classes. Granted if they removed cl entirely and gave those benefits permanently to all daggers, i wouldnt complain.

Covert lethality was the reason ppl touched daggers. Had it been for any other weapon, nobody wouldve touched them since they were crap pre update. At least now you can run them with a good build and even out perform other weaps.

You can hit them a lot with daggers but most other weapons kill them before the armor reduction gives you any advantage...

Daggers in general are the least favorable finisher class right now but if you are somewhat crazy enough to use them like a fast sword then the armor reduction can help your damage output.  (as long there is no nuke frame that clears the map)

What if you were the nuke frame tho. Just imagine for a moment a frame like equinox or mirage. Armor stripping groups of enemies, racking up dmg, and having room cc. Its not as good on saryn ironically enough since she can shred enemies before armor strip kicks in but pretty much any frame that can room clear or applies statuses benefits from daggers.

I armor stripped a nox with 1-2 hits and juggernaut in the same time with my setup.  Granted you lose a primary since argonak is crap but thats why secondaries exist aye?
