  1. This would be a great idea actually, not just for the Glaive, but maybe even for the other Alert-dropped weapons. (Although there's already a Dual Heatsword existing that doesn't require two heatswords.) Sell the "dual" version BPs on the Market, but keep the weapon BPs required (e.g. Pangolin Sword, etc.) from Alert missions.

Would make running alert missions that drop rewards you already have worthwhile besides just selling the Blueprint for credits.

Dual Plasma swords? Yes please. :)

  2. You can totally be that guy. It is definitely a problem with how crude the stats collection is. We're hoping to track it as kills based on squads to address support roles.

This would be awesome. I had a couple of people trying to catch up with the event for the rewards, begging if they could be the one to kill the MOAs to guarantee credit. None of us were sure how we could determine if they'd get credit for a collective kill or not.

  3. Ash, to me, is like Batman.

    His shuriken is his Batarang.

His smoke screen, used as a means of hiding himself in the shadows as he prepares to strike at an enemy.

His teleport - akin to Batman appearing before an enemy to land a blow.

Bladestorm, much like the Batman's montage of taking out multiple foes from the shadows.

Ash may often be compared to Loki (for obvious reasons), but he is no squishy trickster like the latter. He's not the Joker who uses sly tricks to his advantage like Loki, nor is he a Superman like Rhino or Excalibur who charges at their foes head-on. Neither is he a Martian Manhunter or Green Lantern of sorts like Mag, Nyx or Volt with telepathic/psychic/etc powers. (Probably would've been better if I used some Marvel references instead, but let's stick to DC. xD)

Ash may not be so appealing to everyone in his current state, and for good reason. Apart from their physical appearances, the Warframes are primarily differentiated by their Powers, and to a lesser extent, their base stats. To some, like myself, playing Ash feels great. He's a slightly tankier version of an Excalibur, having basically the same amount of base stats (Armor, Shield Capacity, Sprint Speed - based on the information on the wiki, but he seems to have more armor and sprint speed than the number values indicate) but with higher base health. Admittedly, most of his powers need a bit of improving, particularly Shuriken and Teleport. Shuriken is a bit lackluster compared to other frames' powers, but I'd probably use it if it costs less power. Teleport is situational. It's quite useful from time-to-time, but more often than not, it's more trouble than it's worth. Used offensively on an enemy, it ports you right in front of the enemy. putting you in quite a bad poition quite often.. It can probably be improved by porting you behind an enemy instead, or even better, make teleport into a "blink strike" wherein you land a melee blow upon teleporting to an enemy (making it like a cheaper, single-target bladestorm). But with that said, Teleport's nice to have for more mobility. Bladestorm is awesome - when it works properly. I've read some pretty decent replacement suggestions for it given by other players on a different topic thread, but I think it's relatively OK the way it is now, minus its buggy-ness. (You can actually shoot while you're Blade Storming for even more damage output. Works wonders with a Hek.)

What makes Ash so incredibly fun for me is Smoke Screen. Arguably, Loki's invisibility can be seen as better, but then again. it lacks the short stunning/blinding utility that Smoke Screen has, not to mention the difference in energy costs. Loki's Invisiblity costs 50 energy while Smoke Screen only costs 35. Personally, I run Ash with a Streamline mod (Power efficiency), a Continuity mod (Power duration) and use Energy Siphon for my Artifact as well as being armed with Dual-Heatswords/Dual Ethers with Charge speed/damage mods. With a max Streamline mod, that's 30% Power Efficiency - calculated as: "Base Energy Cost divided by (1+X), where X is the percent power efficiency and the result is always rounded up." - which brings down the cost of Smoke Screen to 27, Shuriken & Teleport to 20, and Blade Storm to 77. (A Loki with a similar mod brings down his Invisibility cost to 39, 35 if used in conjunction with the Essence Helm). In my personal experience, with such a mod setup, Ash feels even better to play being able to Smoke Screen followed by some high-critting charged melee attack a lot. With the incredible killing rate an Ash has set up that way, you'll find quite a lot of energy orbs around to further your killing-spree plus the energy siphon ticking @ 1 energy every 2 seconds, Ash to me really feels like playing Batman - stealth, take out enemies, stealth, then take out even more enemies - they won't know what hit em. In the end, every Warframe has a unique set of Powers and stats given to them by the Devs. Along with every other variable in the game, it's up to us, the players, to play around with all of them and find what combination/setup makes the game fun for us to play.

In my humble opinion, Ash is quite a potent warframe, and is incredibly fun to play. (Although Excalibur/Excalibur Prime will always be my favorite Warframe.)

"Because he's the Warframe that the Tenno deserves, but not the one it needs right now... And so we'll criticize him, shun him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... the Dark Knight..."

  4. I was on my Ash and I did a Blade Storm. Instead of the usual slice n' dice killing montage, he remained suspended in the air with the same camera angle and effects as Blade Storm's. (It looked like I was on LSD or something). I couldn't do a melee attack, but I could use my guns and I was invincible the entire time. Killed everything that was attacking me, but I had to quit the mission because I remained suspended in the air, unable to float down or up to get to extraction. lol

  5. After reading this, it's made me think of how cool it would have been if all the Warframes were named after famous, mythical or legendary weaponry. The Warframes are technically "weapons" that the Tenno use, so it might make a good fit. I mean, they already have Excalibur, they could just do a little research and see which weapons would fit whatever Warframe archetype they were working on. There could be Tyrfing, Caladbolg, Arondight, Mistilteinn, Hrunting, Mjolnir, Gungnir, Ascalon, Balmung, Brahmastra, Aegis, Svalinn, Muramasa, etc.

But then again, would following such a pattern be too restrictive?

Love the concept of Masamune. Hope they could implement a warframe like this. :)
