  1. Convectrix is probably one of the worst thought through weapons in the entire game.

The whole sweeping beams thing doesn't accomplish anything productive and just hampers normal usage severely, making the thing have a persistent wide cutting field and large punchthrough maybe would help it make sense but then you're still looking at absolutely miserable base damage from it. Of course it doesn't have anything to cover the expanded blind spot nor does it have any punchthrough inherently so it remains one of the clunkiest and user-unfriendly weapons ever.

The phage follows closely in sheer arbitrary inconvenience but the more erratic spread and additional beams means it tends to hit slightly more as it focuses than convectrix at least?

Personal grip with the polearm weapon class is the stances that completely waste the inherent reach of the weapons by doing short range twirls.

  2. Not quite sure what's up with the ground missions or what works right but the objectives feel spongy and for the railjack ones I can't even get a crew to join.

With this sticking around for a month I think i'll pass on playing any further until there's more clarity and order to this.

  3. It really should just show them unconditionally if you're on a K-Drive INCLUDING the free default one I feel, races are after all a way to work towards being able to build your own custom one.

The absence of markers on the default board leads to cases like these though and it does feel like being able to mod the custom ones vs not being able to mod the default one is enough incentive to work for it as well. Don't need the working bit to be extra confusing or tiresome on top of that.

  4. I've noted it in the update thread, as have others, but it's very hard to make any proper assessment of the controls at large when the camera moves around the way it does if you try to strafe while aiming.

Prior flight model kept it steady much akin to using a frame on the ground but the new one jerks around and tilts according to movement and it's... not great, it is very sickening.

Being unable to use a frame on account of motion sickness is a rather awkward issue.

  5. They SHOULD desecrate no matter how they're destroyed and regardless of the corpse being visible or not but this wouldn't be the first time something is broken.

If you happen to have blood rush and drifting contact or body count then atterax could be a strong alternative to the ignis for mowing down mobs.

There's no real balance issue in this considering how tanky the no-shield frames are that will still survive MUCH better than a simple shield gating will provide.  The shield gating feature was probably intended to deal with self-damaging weapons.

Inaros could use some tweaks to his sarcophagus before those are completely even, a bit of mobility in the mode to prevent enemies from just calmly walking away from him for one.

But indeed Nidus revolves around building stacks mechanically so as long as he is played "as intended" he effectively already has something akin to a more powerful but expensive method of surviving insta-death damage REPEATEDLY with fairly significant invul added too.

  7. I feel like perhaps this is saying parkour 2.0 basically does what zephyr was made to do, minus the energy cost.

Not terribly far from the truth either. She could use a couple of tweaks to make these abilities more appealing to use overall.

Something simple like adding a wind blast along the path of tailwind's travel to knock foes down and a larger wind blast to let divebomb hit a wider area maybe?

I like the concept as it adds more functionality and diversity for frames but I believe it should be applied to an entirely different system beyond cosmetics.  Mostly because mismatching armor to gain certain boosts would ruin fashionframe and after so long being cosmetic only it would feel odd to make certain pieces somewhat essential.

I believe they tried the whole armor giving boosts thing out before in a way with arcane helmets which were removed from the game.  Well, the means to obtain them were removed and now people try to sell them for plat, either way it didn't work out.

Forcing people to look a certain way just to gain advantages isn't a great way to go.

I would like to see some version of this someday, just not tied to cosmetics in any way.

Perhaps a better way would be craftable "mutations" from the infested/helminth room that you can add onto frames, purely a stat thing anyone can make provided they've progressed far enough in the game for it.

Preferably at that point it'd open with or without nidus too. This would be an entirely different approach than what OP is thinking however.

and why not? This game is ever changing. There is room for new armor, new weapons, new skins, whatever they want? This is to add a little bit more initiative about another aspect of the game we play.

Not only is it unfair to put stats onto pay-only extra gear you can use to freely boost stats, no matter how minor, on any frame/weapon/whathaveyou.

We used to have stats on helmets and it resulted in people feeling like they couldn't choose their favorite based on looks but rather had to use whatever was best in slot so to speak. Set bonuses and armor stats would merely hurt player choice in aesthetics and add more P2W-esque aspects to the game.

    A thousand times no.

    what does the cysts do

    and what is it for?

and does it effect your stats?

For now it is mostly a cosmetic blemish.

When fully grown you can either access the infested room and have it removed to immunize that frame from further infections or if you have a spare kubrow egg you can incubate a special infested kubrow pet.

If you are disagreeing please send mod list to make Nidus better.

If you really desperately need shields on Nidus you'll be pleased to know Suda sells shield drones that can add a flat 200 shields to him.

I cannot imagine why you would want shields over a simple steel fiber+vitality combo however. Yes he can't facetank level 100+ enemies like that but that is why you have your other powers, the 3rd power especially and combined with your 4th you can tank through almost anything long enough to nuke them down.

Just up your power strength, range, and don't worry too much about duration or efficiency.

  12. It would seem this is about the Twitch bundles which seems to be RNG on the end of what you get in terms of Twitch emotes? Not anything i'd ever want to spend money on still.

Hopefully the crates stay on Twitch's side of this deal in full, Warframe has enough RNG as is.

  13. I would think the reason helminth fears the operators and other infested don't is because canonically only helminth has met or interacted with the operators.

To a being that can merge, assimilate, and transform any organic or mechanical thing they come across, would it not be terrifying to encounter something completely immune to that? A being that cannot be infested is incomprehensible abomination to the infestation.

Excuse me, but as a ps4 player that doesnt have this yet, I have no idea how annoying it can be, so maybe I'm not getting a full scope of it. But if it's such a problem, then wouldn't the practical fix be to just turn down the computer and/or game volume (and possibly play your own music in the background instead)?

    • I understand the problem is "I can't hear the game's music" but I (as someone that isn't directly affected by this yet anyways) don't think that's quite such a serious problem that they need to be adding dongles and sliders to counteract one specific warframe, do you? That's just asking for a cluttered UI in my opinion.
    • Additionally, it's not like this is Overwatch or something where you could argue a case that in-game audio is important or essential. Turning down the game volume for the duration of the octavia-filled mission and putting on some tunes you might enjoy yourself meanwhile won't take anything away from the Warframe experience or put you at a disadvantage (Youtube Warframe OST if it means that much to you will grant you virtually the same pleasant experience)
    • And finally, Octavia is a new frame fresh off the tennopress, so she's everywhere right now I'd imagine for PC players but give it 1-2 months and the number of "Octavia mains" will mellow out, and so will the problem I'm sure.

Maybe I'm going against the grain/popular opinion for this, but I'd rather not see my UI start getting needlessly cluttered for very specific situations, like this one.

I'm not heavy on music listening myself and the stock music is thankfully mostly inoffensive background filler helping keep the game from feeling too empty if that makes sense? I don't want to have to change my options any time an Octavia happens to be in squad.

If a single specific frame consistently makes people wish to turn the game music off completely and substitute it through youtube/spotify/whathaveyou then, regardless of audio importance, I feel perhaps it warrants an opt-out like how other frames that change your experience have already.

Backflipping shuts Volt's speed buff off if unwanted, you can roll out of Limbo's rift/banish. I hope people will have the freedom to just always opt out of Octavia's music too.

Even if their numbers would drop off significantly to the point of being as rare as hydroid or titania I would still not want to be "surprised" by whatever tunes they've made.

Edit: I should note I turned the sound down to inaudible levels on my own Octavia's mixer but this has the effect of instead practically muting the normal level music for the ability duration.

Solution has already been found, which is to have an on/off setting for Octavia's music. This has come as a direct result of OP expressing his opinion of finding the music annoying. Lets not make this thread any longer than it needs to be or drift from the original point, it has already been resolved.

I imagine complaints will continue to pile up until a toggle or slider is implemented. Really though, as cool as it is that they took the time to make this frame I do feel like they should have foreseen issues arising from music by nature being a very subjective experience.

I hope to see a slider to shut it all off implemented while leaving the game music intact ASAP and perhaps a way to play your own music as inaudibly as possible.

I don't have any interest in making music myself but the note placement and amount still affects how the powers preform so it'd probably be quite a blessing for others to not have to hear the mess I use for that purpose.

  16. You may as well ask what the point of grinding good gear is when prime/wraith/vandal/prisma/mara version may make them obsolete eventually too.

Bless may be weaker in pure numbers now but it also gives the full buff regardless of ally hp where as previously you had to bring yourself or an ally to 1-2 hp before casting to get full effect.

As for the rest of your post it was barely readable, lith on earth is supposed to be a struggle for any frame? you want mirage to be able to solo-stunlock an interception map through walls without even aiming again?

How about making the Focus to also unlock Operator abilities?

Indeed this feels like what may be needed to make the two systems mesh.

Perhaps going as far as to make the neglected/worse focus trees better at empowering your operator both actively and passively than the favored current meta ones.

  18. Their weakpoint is the terminal on their back rather than the front/head parts if I recall correctly.

Beyond that they're also just exceptionally tough and armored jerks with a lot of knockdowns and disables.

High burst damage weaponry applied directly to bursa butt may be your best choice.

DE has been talking about wanting to drag the clans more to the foreground for months. This event should come as no surprise to anyone who has payed attention. It is a CLAN event. DE is working on CLAN related content. People have been complaining about how there is hardly any CLAN content for over a year now. Don't blame them for picking up on this.

If anyone has been tone-deaf it's those who apparently didn't pick up on these CLAN related efforts.

This event is not to punish solo players but to reward clan activity. If you can't see the distinction between those two, that is on you - not DE.

I do not count this as a reward, it is stupid and disrespectful to think that merely increasing participation in bodycount based labor is actually going to make anything better.

DE picked the dart up, threw it, and missed the mark completely. Get the underlying framework to encourage active clans FIRST.

DO NOT suddenly try to force a complete reversal in clan function to the community because then we get this situation where the change feels completely arbitrary and unfair to most because clans did not serve a purpose like this up until now, despite previous events having a clan competition aspect to them.
