  1. Warframe has lots of movement options to explore, all tailor-made to the persona of us robot space ninjas. It all started, of course, with "Parkour 1.0", as it might be called after the release of the aptly-named Parkour 2.0. There's no denying Parkour 2.0 was a huge improvement, considering how janky 1.0 was. Perhaps the most noteworthy change, or perhaps the most controversial, was the removal of "coptering". (As well as the removal of wall-running)

This is not a plea to bring back coptering. It was fun, sure, but, all things considered: Please don't. Once Parkour 2.0 dropped, coptering was simply replaced by a nameless technique (I'm not informed on official perspectives on it, but it seems to me to be just a bug that has been tolerated) wherein you bullet jump then follow up with a double jump and a mid air roll. Despite all of Warframe's movement options, "bullet rolling", as I'll call it from now on in this post, is always the most rewarding. Be it a close-quarters corpus ship tile or the massive expanse of the plains of eidolon, bullet rolling is always the most efficient on-foot method of transport.

    My opinion

My take on the matter is: I simply wish it weren't the most efficient method of transport. I enjoy chaining bullet jump and wall jumps; leaping from wall to wall, making full use of my arsenal of movement options. Yet, that entertainment is heavily tempered by the knowledge that bullet rolling will always be faster. If I want to complete a mission fast, you bet I'll be bullet rolling. Now what really has made me personally dislike this technique is having to use it in the plains. In bounties, standard movement between zones is, lo and behold, bullet rolling. It's a whole bunch of inputs (and may I mention, hell on the fingers and wrists) just so one can have grounded movement faster than what one's warframe's sprint speed allows. I would also like to add that this makes the warframe sprint speed statistic (and, by extension, modding for said statistic) not very impactful. Warframe's current parkour 2.0 system is already a good skill-based movement system, but being good at it doesn't translate into going the very fastest you can. Rather, it is always more efficient to bullet roll than to attempt other more skill-intensive maneuvers. Bullet rolling is, additionally, not a technique that newcomers tend to know, and can, as such, be considered not very accessible. Given this, I feel this technique should be patched out.

The problems with the removal of bullet rolling

However, were bullet rolling removed, everyone now moves slower. If the fastest option is removed, you just have to opt for slower ones.

In the plains, your best option would be to spam horizontal bullet jumps. This falls into the same category as bullet rolling. A lot of meaningless inputs just to move faster than what your sprint speed would allow.

In more traditional close-quarters tilesets, things would look better. To move at max speed, you would actually need to make full use of warframe's mobility techniques. However, this doesn't change that the removal of bullet rolling would make things slower overall.

My suggestions to fix these potential issues

In the plains, I believe a so-called "travel mode" should be incorporated in warframes. Simply put, a mode that allows the warframe to sprint at speeds much too fast for close-quarters tiles, but more suitable for open-ended areas like the plains. It would probably fit best on a gear slot, and the idea is that travel mode would make the warframe wind up a second or two and, afterwards, accelerates to a speed much beyond what the warframe's regular sprint speed would be. The effect would last a set amount of seconds, (basically, just long enough to run from one bounty zone to the other) and then be put on cooldown for around a minute. "Travel mode" would allow for a simplistic way to move from point A to point B in the plains: requiring little inputs and being accessible to new players, all the whilst being slower than using a Dargyn or an Archwing: the "premium" forms of travel on the plains.

In traditional tilesets, things are a bit more complex. However, I feel like these changes would go a long way:

    • Merge the old wall-running and today's wall-hopping. On key-press, a wall run is commenced, taking a second or two to accelerate to max speed (needless to say, faster than one's warframe's sprint speed). On key-release, the warframe hops off, and gains a short speed buff, as to reward chaining wall-hops between different walls and pillars.
    • Increase overall warframe sprint speed. I understand that warframe sprint speeds have to accommodate new players who aren't quite used to the movement, but, even then, I feel steering is easy even on max-sprint speed modded warframes. (Though I do concede that once a full power-strength volt steps in, things get difficult, and many a doorway is bumped). A bump up of maybe 10% across-the-board sprint speed would be a welcome change, though walking movement speed should be maintained.
    • Implement the conclave's "mobility" stat into regular, PvE play. Though this would initially slow down some warframes, such as Rhino and Atlas aforementioned suggestions such as an across-the-board movement speed buff and wallrunning would end up evening their loss out. Mainly, implementing the mobility stat would make modding for speed much more viable in general play, and improve build variety according to player preference. I'm sure many people would be willing to sacrifice a little bit of their power strength or whatnot to parkour around better. I feel replacing sprint speed with the mobility stat from the conclave would encourage player choice.

Conclusion (or "TL;DR", depending on the degree of formality you wish to read this with)

Spamming bullet rolls on the plains is unleashing hell on my fingers and wrists. Bullet rolling is no different than coptering. Simple inputs you only need spam to pretty much completely circumvent the intended method of movement. As such, it is my opinion that bullet rolling should be patched out. However, this technique does have its place, particularly in the plains, where it is too slow to run and too expensive to fly around with archwing, and, as such, a "travel mode" should be introduced (if you haven't, read under the suggestions to see what I mean by "travel mode"). That being said, the current Parkour 2.0 system, while already quite complex and skill-based, could do better to reward players who are proficient at it. And wall-running should be reintroduced. Because it was fun. And hey, that's most of all that matters, right?

  2. Hello, I was looking for a relaxed clan, with a medium community for me and for my friend who just picked up the game. This looks like a great fit, so I just wanted to ask for an invitation. Another thing is, my friend won't reach mastery rank 3 until tomorrow b/c of the one-mastery-mission-per-day limit, so, if you could invite him, say, at least 24 hours (just whenever you're available after a day's passed, don't want to pressure you) after you send my invite, I'd really, really appreciate it (if you want him to make a separate forum post to be invited that's understandable, just tell me so if needed).

    Friend's IGN: Divfate

    Cheers!

  3. I started going to T2 with a kestrel. There is this slightly deeper pool of water and when enemies fall in it they never stand up and just die after a while. Most fun I've had thus far. It's priceless to knock down a gunner down a flight of stairs, wait for them to climb back up and do it again.

  4. Early game experience for new players needs some heavy work, such as revamping Mercury as being an entire "tutorial" system that walks players through the basics of mods, equipping gear, building things in the foundry and damage types and the like.

I think this would definitely improve the overall beginner experience. It would be nice if once you complete the first Mercury mission it branched into 3 missions, each one made to learn your starter frame's strengths and weaknesses. Another thing that would be nice would be if we had "starter weapons" to choose from to further diversify play styles.

  5. Not necessarily a bug, but I know I am not alone when I say that donators should have the capability to obtain trading card drops, considering those donations were external to steam, and did not count to the money spent in warframe. So many other card fanatics, including me, would be glad to have trading card drops

    Thanks for your time,

  6. You think I was just absent form the forum all these months? Nope. I was building up momentum, as I ran all the way from Andromeda (Physics don't matter when you are a Tenno) back to this hill, making time paradoxes on my way. Now the time has come, and my roundhouse kick is charged! Prepare for annihilation!

    *trip on rock*

    FU-

Science break! As demonstrtaed by the equation E=MC^2, Energy = mass and speed squared, Now now, going at these speeds, both my mass and my speed are huge, and tripping is enough to well...

    *Earthquake*

The Tenno watch in horror as the world cracks beneath them, and the planet collides upon itself. Objects of huge size fly here and there, as a black hole is made. The world ends.

Except.... out in the horizon... A blurry figure is made out. Amongst the debris and the destruction, one thing is clear. A hill. A beautiful motherf**king hill.

I climb upon it, and plant my flag.

    My hill.

  7. I just had a thought ~

    1.  the Greener use cloning, and are working on perfecting coning - and thus the clones come out with those ugly faces = the cloning process in the galaxy is not perfect enough for the Tenno to use -

the tenno need to be as perfect as possible in order to carry out their duties and be superior to the Greener.

2  If cloning is not possible  and assuming tenno are completely  biological - then it's safe to assume they reproduce-  yet I beleive that due to the nature of them still keeping human likeness that they have sex as any other humans would.

    - but -

What happens to women tenno if they are pregnant ? that equals to less time in battle

my solution - Tenno lay eggs or spawn in some way which would avoid long pregnancy periods for female tenno

I think they just rip the small tennos outta the mother's stomach and tell them to man the F*** up

  8. What else is your Tenno to do while you are not playing the game. Sit around and wait for you to come back? No, your Tenno is out mingling with other Tenno. Then when two Tenno love eachother verrry they get married. Eventually they have little Tenno babies. Time for them is much faster then time for us. Maby even your origonal Tenno is dead from age and you are actually playing as one of the children of said Tenno. You would never know because we never see thier face. Also you may inadvertently cause your Tennos love relationship by who you play with in game. I mean every mission is just showing off how strong or skilled you are so natuaraly some of the stronger ones and smarter ones may be drawn togther. Those are just my thought though.

So... When I am gone, my tenno chills for a while, then goes to a meeting and gets kinky with tennos wearing warframes?

  9. I create a lego launcher. I shoot legos at all of you, quickly disbanding armies, making them question morals, heavily wounded, of their living condition, creating revolutions, starting all sorts of wars. And meanwhile, im sitting here, masturbating

    My hill

  10. No, what I was saying Mr. chantoxxtreme is that they have been reproducing the whole time and the open beta testers are the babies of the closed beta testers (they have had to have time to grow). So they've always been in baller mode.

So... My tenno reproduces behind my back!?
