  1. Greetings fellow Tenno,

    So we saw on last week’s Devstream #114 that Vauban, Nyx and Titania is slated for reworks. Sadly, what DE suggested for Vauban and Nyx feel lackluster at best.

    I would like to post my humble suggestions on how to rework them, as it feels like with all the workload DE has had lately, they were not able to allocate the appropriate personnel and resources on redesigning these frames.

     

    I. Vauban:

    Let’s talk about his current place, abilities and weakness in the game.

    Vauban is supposed to be the technician dude that builds chokepoints and defences with cc and stationary damage to hold down objectives, locking down the area into a death zone that nothing can violate.

    But what we have now is more akin to a child party planner, armed with the tesla display you see in science fairs as well as bouncy castles and harmless traps that entertain the children without doing too much damage, for his 1 and 2 at least. His 3 is his strongest skill, providing insane levels of cc although it bugs out sometimes and the enemies saunter through anyway. His 4 works great on infested and nothing else due to its embarrassing range.

    So here are my suggestions on how to bring him up to what he is supposed to be, the king of fortification. As a warning, these suggestions include large overhauls and changes to his current kit, and will be described at their maximum levels.

    For his passive, a brilliant person on Reddit suggested he gains self damage immunity, I think that idea is perfect, useful AND thematic.

    1 – Deploy:

    Full removal of the tesla grenades and instead, we get proper turrets.

    Vauban deploys 4 small turret structures (roller sized) to attack or defend the area.

    The turret works off the same principle as Khora’s Venari, but with only 2 modes, Attack and Defend. The turrets deploy wherever it is aimed (lasts 45 seconds at 100% duration), and in attack mode, it will stay stationary and fire its machine gun (think Soma) automatically at enemies. (40 meters range at 100% range), damage scales off Vauban’s primary weapon and Power Strength.  

    In Defend mode, the turrets grow wheels and follow Vauban in formation, forming an energy shield that gives a % damage reduction in an AOE (5m range at 100% range) around Vauban, it loses the ability to shoot.

    Augment: Attack, each turret equips different weapons, machine gun, homing missiles (angstrum), chain lightning (amprex) and flames (ignis). Defend, Turret loses mobility but creates an impenetrable shield.

    2- Minelayer:

    Most abilities will work the same as it is but with massive stat tweaks that allow them to be actually useful.

    Trip laser is fine as of now.

    Shred will cause a permanent stacking armor reduction and deal radiation damage instead of the temporary effect it has now.

    Concuss mines will last indefinitely.

    Bounce will not work on allies; instead it will become an interactable item, like a console. Bounced characters will also deal damage to every enemies hit on their way to their destination.

    3- Bastille:

    Will work as it does currently, but it needs bugfixes that will stop enemies from just walking through.

    4- Vortex:

    Firstly, Vortex’ range has to be increased to 15m (at 100% range), and instead of an invisible force that pulls enemies quickly into the vortex, it releases tesla arcs that attaches itself to enemies (same enemy count limit) that slowly pulls them into the centre, all the while stunning and dealing damage(scales off strength). Duration will be increased to 25 seconds.

     

    The idea of this rework is to allow Vauban to effectively build mobile bases like the combat engineer that he was meant to be, and update his kit to suit the current day mass murder meta while keeping his CC king identity. In short, Vauban will attac, protecc, and most importantly, look cool as hecc.

    The basic bread and butter combo will be as such: deploy turrets, drop bastille, drop vortex to pull the luckless victims into the Bastille, apply mines as you see fit, and have shredding mines reduce enemy protection as they are helplessly dragged to the bastille, where in the turrets can get to work and gun down the suspended enemies.

     

     

    II. Nyx:

    Nyx’s situation in the game is the same as Vauban.

    While interesting, her powers don’t really translate to the whole mind control theme that she has. They are also not very useful in the current scope of the game.

    With the announcement that psychic bolts will be removed, the potential of the new ability is quite vast.

    The following is my suggestions on how to change her.

    1-Mind Control:

    Mind Control will last indefinitely, pressing 1 while targeting other enemies will have the Mind controlled unit attack targeted enemy. Holding 1 with no enemies targeted will cause a mental overload, causing the mind controlled unit’s head to explode, dealing the remaining of its health damage multiplied by 1.5x (100% strength) as radiation damage in a 5m (100% range) around it. Holding 1 with another enemy targeted will cause the controlled unit’s head to explode as per the previous situation and take over the new unit.

    2- Chaos:

    Affected chaos units will always prioritise enemy units before targeting Nyx or her allies, a chaos affected unit will only attack Nyx after all other enemies are killed.

    3- Aggression:

    For the new ability, Nyx will cause all enemies affected by chaos to close into within close combat range and assault the targeted enemy, the increased aggression levels causes the chaos affected units to deal 200% damage (100% strength) for the duration of its effect(10 seconds at 100% duration or on death of target). This ability can be used to target mind controlled units.

     

    The basic gameplay loop will have Nyx take over an enemy, creating a permanent specter like unit that can be issued attack orders. Now the Nyx player can choose to either spread general chaos on the enemies and lock the area down, or gather up enemies for easy killing, by having chaos affected enemies assault the mind controlled unit, killing it (or manually detonated) and causing a mental nuke that wipes out the chaos affected enemies.

    As per the suggestion for Vauban, this rework will hopefully update Nyx to fit into the modern killing meta, while still keeping her own flavor of unique CC and re-establishing her theme of control.

     

    I submit this for your consideration, overlords at DE and fellow Tenno.

    I truly understand the game structure logic of DE & refreshing the raid content based on the current system by taking them out of the game build which is hard keeping them ingame but DE should also understand that its gonna have a great impact on a considerably large group of people who dedicatedly invested their time for playing and managing raid groups on daily basis along with making media contents to do the publicity of this game. Clans will have a shake to redesign their activity & recruitment system cause till now raids were their main focus to prove that yes they are one the best active clans but as they are gone, what now? everything else are literally repetitive in this game which offer no motivation or even the lowest level of variation while engaging with 8 players at the same time (1-2 might show up with the intention of trolling by using the myth known as PvP, please don't)

    I never felt this bad reading comments from fellow tenno before until today when they directly attacked those who used to love the raids with passion and also found them tagging those who said something in favor of raids, this not a fight among groups deciding what is bad or good. Before anyone judge, I'm a tenno with around 2.4K hours of ingame and 5K+ steam hours

    Now You see the hypocrites for what they really are, "welcoming" community that wishes their fellow players to lose their fav game modes. If that aint toxic I dont know what is.

  5. There's an issue with Nyx and her prime's model where part of her butt just eats into itself. I will attach a picture as spoiler.

    This issue also affects Excalibur and Titania.

    To the Tenno with Nyx Tennogen skins, does this bug also affect them?

  6. Please DE. I beg you. Don't gate Oberon's powers behind hallowed ground. Right now Oberon is already very energy starved. Having to rely on a static ability to properly use his kit is a heavy punishment, and can oftentimes make oberon ineffective due to no energy. 

    Change this by either making hallowed ground an aura that follows oberon. While this still gates oberon to an extent, he is not punished for when allies decide to move out of the hallowed ground.

    Or, make renewal and reckoning do what they currently do, without the need of hallowed ground. And when you sucessfully execute it inside hallowed ground, you get to extend hallowed ground's duration or increased energy regeneration, giving him a better flow.

    What is currently happening to oberon is not synergy. Its more like a rape of the word synergy. Again i beg of you. Think of your playerbase and your own creation and do right by them.

    lastly, while talking about "imagined" problems: think about the rage, hate and harsh language raining down on you if you nerf the thing - you really should learn to think about consequences when putting new stuff into wild. by know you should know that people excel at finding cheesy methods with frame, weapons, mods, and playstyles - either test the stuff better BEFORE releasing it or live with the consequences...

    You dont understand. All the other problems dont affect revenue generation. While a drop in credit booster sales certainly does. Its all about the money man.

  11. Hi, just an update. I managed to get my entire motherboard changed, so that includes gpu, psu and the whole shebang.

     

    So far i have not been actually able to play for an extended amount of time, but in 2 or more weeks of short duration playing there have been no crashes.

     

    However, i am facing two issues, one is sometimes the game will freeze for half a second, this happens when people spawn into a game, but also when nobody is joining.

     

    Secondly, i sometimes suffer from an extreme fps drop, to about 5 or so fps for a few seconds before things go back to normal.

     

    Are these issues i should be worried about?
