    THE CONTROVERSY OF LIMBO

Limbo has been a repeated topic when it comes to rework, and there are many reasons as to why players want Limbo's ability set to be redone. I believe in one core problem when it comes to Limbo:

Limbo's theme as a dimension hopper and the Rift System connected to him is the core issue with Limbo.

Aside from the very popular argument that Limbo shines in Rescue and Sortie-Defense Missions, when it comes to other missions including many objective-focused missions it can be quite a workhorse to get Limbo right in those situations. The Rift itself prevents anyone inside to pick up Data-Modules and hack into Doors/Consoles. Combat-wise Limbo users will need to micromanage picking enemies off and can take so much time for him to do in combat compared to other players, and Limbo's stats doesn't help much in combat.

Limbo's current theme makes his gameplay feel a bit clunky and in the wrong hands can be a deterrent for effective gameplay. I would like to propose an alteration to this theme.

THE PROPOSAL OF THE NEW THEME OF LIMBO

Bear in mind when talking about changing the theme of Limbo, I am talking into heavy consideration the following:

    • The current lore of the Limbo Theorem
    • The current ability kit of Limbo and his Augments
    • An easier teamplay tactics with a Limbo

This new theme I am suggesting will add an "alternative reason" behind the Limbo Theorem lore and can encourage a more combat-support teamplay style. As for the current Augments of Limbo, I am trying my best to fit the effect of those within Limbo's new theme. This theme is: TIME-SPACE MANIPULATION

    WHAT IS TIME-SPACE MANIPULATION?

In the most general explanation: it is when a user is capable of distorting temporal and spatial forces and their continuum. Such a power can also be said to be the combination of manipulation of space (boundless three-dimensional extent) and time (measurement of flow of events), but in actuality the effect is much more powerful as it can alter reality and existence itself.

In relation to the events of the Limbo Theorem, Limbo experienced an accident that caused his parts to be separated across the Origin System. This event could also have Time-Space powers interlocked with this quest as it can show the devastation of Limbo's capabilities. After all, teleportation is not the only limit when it comes to time-space capabilities.

THE NEW ABILITIES FOR LIMBO IN SPACE-TIME THEME

    The Passive

    • The Rift Plane mechanic will be removed with this current theme, but only some evidence of its capabilities will be added into a few of its abilities. However, the "separation of planes" will be absent.

    • The Rift Efficiency grants the Holster and Reload Speed Buff which will be the main passive for Limbo. This would maintain the space-time theme within Limbo and will be renamed Continuum Efficiency.

The First Ability: Quantum {Single Target, Category: Buff/Debuff} [Duration dependent]

    • This ability has two effects based on the target. Enemy: Limbo applies a temporal energy that slows down the targeted enemy's movements and attacks. Ally and Self: Limbo applies a temporal energy on an ally that increases their movement, spell casting speed, and health/energy regeneration. Limbo can apply this effect on himself by holding down the command.

    • The previous Augment Haven makes Banish restore a portion of an injured ally's health. We will keep this effect for Quantum's Augment to emulate Limbo "rewinds the state of himself/ally."

    • Since this is in a sense of combining Rift Walk with Banish but instead in the theme of Time-Space, we can create a whole new ability for Limbo to have. However, we are moving Cataclysm to a somewhat adjusted space-time version of itself.

The Second Ability: Distortion {AOE Reticle Target, Category: Damage} [Strength, Duration, and Range dependent]

    • Limbo summons a dome of time-spacial stasis energy that banishes enemies that enter it and attacks that hit it acting as a barrier. After a short duration, the dome disappears and indicates as a buff accumulated damage added to the dome. Limbo can cast again reversing the space-time continuum direction to release a powerful shock wave in the direction of the reticle. Damage the shockwave does is based on the accumulation. Enemies that are banished in Distortion grant XXX additional damage for each enemy that enters it.

    • Enemies banished in Distortion receive double the damage from Distortion and they return on the spot of the shockwave.

    • Limbo can only hold onto Distortion after the dome disappears for a few seconds. Failure to recast the ability will cause the shockwave to occur where Limbo is located.

    • Cataclysm's Augment that causes increased Duration can be adjusted into Distortion's Augment in some way.

The Third Ability: Restoration {Summon, Category: Movement, Buff/Debuff} [Duration and Range dependent]

    • Limbo creates a temporal crack where he stands as a "save point." As long as Limbo is within reach of the crack, Limbo will auto revive when killed and will be teleported at that save point with the same Health stat he has with an additional few seconds of invulnerability.

    • Ally players can also be given the same effect if they press the [X] button to gain its effects.

    • A player that is revived this way cannot be revived again this way for 60 seconds. There will be a timer to indicate this on a player.

The Fourth Ability: Suspension {AOE, Category: Buff/Debuff} [Strength, Duration, and Range dependent]

    • An AOE cast ability where Limbo releases the highest level of space-time energy around him causing enemies within the range to be frozen in time. While an enemy affected with this ability do not receive damage, all damage will be accumulated and then dealt to the individual enemy once the ability ends. The damage received at the end of the ability is also multiplied by XXX%. This emulates that there is some sort of "temporal recoil" event being present with this ability.

    • Rift Surge's Augment can have some effect into Suspension.

PROS AND CONS FOR THIS SUGGESTION

    PROS

    • Introducing a new playstyle that is a lot easier to understand and is also teamwork-friendly. Less clunky
    • The theme space-time powers can fit well not only within the Warframe lore, but explicitly to the Limbo Theorem Quest lore
    • Probable minor changes to Limbo's current augments to be applied to these new abilities

    CONS

    • Suggestions of the removal of the Rift Plane can cause some outburst and there are players that still feel fine with the way Limbo is now
    • Limbo's stats are fragile and while his current theme he can be both vulnerable in the Normal and Rift Plane, the vulnerability is also in this new time-space theme
    • Possibility of no one accepting the new change to the theme and would prefer creating a "separate Warframe with the same theme or with a Time-based theme."

    CONCLUSION

*Basically, I am suggesting the change of removing Limbo's current mechanic of "existing in a separate plane where he can rule" into "time-space manipulation that can delay, store, and displace damage." This is just my general suggestion for an easier and more team friendly approach to a Warframe that has been under controversy from the get-go.

This is such an amazing idea, outshining whatever the deva had in plan for the akward limbo. I love limbo for the way he looks, but playing as him proved to be a chore. With this rework, I would love to have limbo with forma's ready. I have been hesitant to forma limbo in his current state, due to his akward mechanics. With this rework, I would be happy to play him at all times, because of his looks, theme, and cool abilities.

I think one of the bigger issues is why a huge portion of the player base is in such a hurry in the first place. Why? Who are you racing? Are you trying to keep up with dem lightspeed content releases so you can burn out again and have nothing to do?

The reason myself and many others used Draco was to forma things extensively. Without Draco, it will now take hours to get back into the real game, whereas before with Draco, 30 minutes. Forma'ing is NOT fun, and if you enjoy forma'ing something six times where each max takes an hour, I won't say anything, but a majority of players would rather not do that. Draco was a way to get business done so that we could get back into the real game, with our maxed out gear. It's not fun to go into a high level mission and having to tell your friends, "can I level up my frame? I just forma'd him."

I know  i tried that but my Dark blade only poisons them.... it does not knock down nor disable there shields. playing on keyboard and most times the keys to use that attack doesent even work. it just mid air slashes forwards when it shouldent.

When you want to do a ground slam, you have to aim at the ground mid-air with your sword. Don't aim forward

Also just maybe the lack of mods.

The F*** are you going to do with a skana? Every longsword in this game is trash without Crimson Dervish and there's no way a rank 2/3 will have one.

Dude in the mastery rank 3 test, you don't need a high level stance. First off, the enemies are level 1 so you will hit them on your first shot without any mods. That's what I did. Second off, you don't need the extra mod capacity at that early level because you don't have that many mods and they are not maxed out.

Sorry for not being a pro after 2-3 days of playing. shame on me for being new to the game.

In 2-3 days, you should have gathered a considerable amount of mods, just enough to get you past level 1 enemies, or whatever they throw at you in the mastery 3 test. And also, it's not just how you mod your weapons, it's how you play the game. Warframe has a very flexible parkour system meant to be utilized in combat extensively, in order to evade damage and be pretty badass. If you play it like your typical slow-paced fps without a tanky frame, you're going to die.

EDIT: Also, you can jump over those "stompy knockback droids' shockwaves. They will make a clear indicator whenever they are about to make the shockwaves anyways, because they raise their legs up for about like 3 seconds. Whenever you see their legs go up, run away, bullet jump, whatever you can do, and then avoid the thin orange shockwave circle. It's not that hard

I was hoping it was a troll or something. Hopefully it is some sort of tribute to Overwatch, cause i feel it's walking a bit too close to overwatch for no real reason. Like how did anyone make a connection between hindu gods, from Space matter?

    Point in case:
    latest?cb=20160601031307

Here's hoping the devs at DE and Blizzard get along.

    My thoughts exactly

  7. Two of us were Ivara, to do all the killing. We had Nekros' to desecrate the dead bodies for life support. I heard that enemies don't spawn after you kill them, so I told my team and we killed them periodically.

  8. I was doing that troll alert with the level 9999 enemies, using a Covert Lethality karyst with Ivara, when i witnessed a peculiar number color. It was a light purple number, higher than any number i had done in damage, but unfortunately i was not quick enough to screenshot. When i asked my team, another Ivara CL said he saw the same thing. Anyone else experienced this new level of crit? Or is it just a bug.

  9. One of the objectives for the saturn junction is to successfully complete a spy mission on jupiter 3/3. I did that twice, on the only spy node jupiter has, but it still says i have not done so. Anyone else experiencing this?

So today, the final sortie was the Raptor assassination.

I had pretty easily soloed the other two, so I took a Hybrid disarm/invis Loki P and a tonkor and made way for it. Then I discovered the issue:

    1. Its unreal tankiness

    2. Its ability to kill me with quite literally one hit from across the map

    3. The fact that it flies, which means that i'm shooting at a moving target while dodging the insane amount of Eximi below it, all trying to kill me.

I couldn't do it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't succeed. I tried Valkyr, Wukong, Loki, Ash, Excal, Rhino, Chroma, even Mesa with her Shatter Shield build (which is extremely powerful).

The result was the same If enemies remained Un-CC'd for even a second, you're screwed. If you pop out of your god-ability for even a second, you're doomed. Once you hit the Raptor's bombs that will kill you from 10ish meters away that are covering the ground, its just so hard to succeed.

I'm a 3 year vet. I know the game pretty well. I'm not the greatest player ever. But I went up with some of the most powerful combinations of gear in the game, and I couldn't even attack before I was ripped to shreds.

Is it just me with this problem? Or do I just need to get gud?

When i saw that it was a raptor assassination for the final sortie, I just gave up. I have attempted to do this sortie many times before, with no avail. He is simply just too godly to kill.
