  1. I have refrained from posting on the whole sorry business so far, but I might add my own opinion now that the s***storm has calmed down a little.

I'm more than willing to bet a good portion of the playerbase is more than aware of the shady, questionable approach of that company to games; had it not been so, I doubt this explosive response from the Forums would've taken place at all.

After all, it is common knowledge that you cannot lie to the internet, and the internet will uncover the b******t you throw at it and will forever remember it.

    That being said.

As of yet, we simply don't know just how big of a portion of the company has been issued in the form of outstanding shares for another party to survey and acquire. Sure the letter of intent seems to be hinting at a full purchase, but even in this scenario we just can't quantify.

While we can't ignore the worrying prospect of a full acquisition of at least the 50%+1, therefore of all physical and intellectual property of DE, making wild speculations on the future of the company and the game, stating the obvious to the point of degeneration isn't going to help.

Sure, it shows the studios just how aware and devoted we all are to a game many of us have infested large sums of money in, but in the end, what the Schmaltzs decide is what will happen, purely on the fact they are the sole executives, and that no Steve, Sheldon or Scott is the major shareholder.

It's nice to think we're making a difference somehow. But let's please not jump to assumptions on the base of incomplete evidence.

  2. I'm wanting to say the Technocyte is what we call a viral quasispecies, practically a constantly evolving pathogen into a highly mutagenic environment (a carrying host such as a Grineer or Corpus crewman, or Solar System wildlife).

Viruses are constantly evolving. Some strains can be created through a more selective evolution such as immunitary strengh of the host, pharmacological treatment, vaccines... in this case, Salad V insanity with a side order of vast financial resources and plenty of test subjects.

The reason why the Technocyte has been relatively stable for a while (or at the very least, this is what we've been led to believe) is probably a simple matter as finding the right blend of factors that can trigger a more drastic evolution, as opposed to minor, constant mutations that do not constitute a deep change (think seasonal influenza).

That being said, I can only speculate on how the Technocyte does reproduce inside a host and how such ability to reproduce can be boosted; it's science fiction, after all.

  3. My main loadout is Orthos Prime, Orthos Prime and Orthos Prime, but I do have some other weapons that I run just for the fun factor.

    Those weapons are:

    Primary:

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    Secondary:

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    Melee:

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

    - Orthos Prime

There you go buddy, I fixed it for you.

On a more serious note about the topic:

I tend to go with a combination of Viral, Radiation & Puncture against Grineer enemies Magnetic, Poison & Slash for Corpus, Corrosive, Fire & Slash against Infested.

Bear in mind this is the generic load-out and it's heavily influenced by how much Status chance I can build on the weapon. It's very fun to experiment with different loadouts, I am currently holding off on slapping more polarities on my weapons in the off-chance of new Damage/Status Chance mods being released in the future, which might or might not fit well in the current polarity setup on my main weapons.

My own take on damage is purely subjective, so don't take my advice for granted.

  4. This is my very first post on these forums, therefore I'm going to do my best to make it as meaningful as possible, at least to show a proper level of enthusiasm for the game and its evolution.

As premise, I have not read most of the topics started before this one, and I do not doubt some of the things I'll point out in this thread may have already been discussed previously. Forgive my laziness, I wish to bring my impressions in a form which is hopefully going to include as many details and thoughts as possible.

There is no doubt Warframe is best played together, be it in a public group with casual users or inside a clan. This is the very first thing I've confirmed after one hundred hours spent on my Excalibur. I've always felt you get the biggest amount of fun out of those giggling, spazzing Warframes who accompany you in your missions. It's because of this strong social component I feel the game still lacks a little bit of refinement under that point of view, a little something I'm going to try to describe at the best of my possibilities.

GOD DAMN IT DAVE WHERE ARE THE TABS

The very first thing that struck me as soon as I began to play my game in company of complete strangers, strangers I might have wanted to chat with and keep in touch with, is the very primitive chat system. While of course the chat window looks quite neat, adjustable and to be honest quite stylish, it ends up becoming a pretty annoying nuisance as soon as you start to demand that little bit more of functionality out of it: It's hard to keep track of your contacts from there, because of a continuously swapping general-to-group chat during matchmaking, being there no way to manage your tabs.

Not only it is not possible to open chat tabs to talk with a simple user, it is not possible to customize the tabs at all. I have nothing against Global chat or Council chat, sometimes however I wish that chat window to be dedicated entirely to the people I personally wish to talk to, and to give me the opportunity to join said channels only when I intend to. I really do not mind to manage my contacts via chat commands, but to be brutally honest it feels like I'm using a primitive IRC protocol instead of a modern game interface. That, in my opinion, is not good, and is one of the first things I'd work on to make it more appealing, more functional and more social-friendly.

BUT DAVE, WHAT THE RUDDY HELL DO YOU WANT FROM IT

Manageable tabs: The ability to open, close, move and generally manage chat tabs to ensure I can talk to the people I want to immediately without fiddling with chat history and chat commands all the time. Customizable transparency and colours might also be welcome.

    IN-GAME INTERFACE

Beside the chat tweaks that might come in handy for both lobby and mission interface, there are some specific in-game features I feel should have some more polish. Let me suggest you what I personally feel would work better for Warframe:

GREAT SCOTT WHAT DID I JUST PICK UP

Many players will probably know what I'm talking about: the loot notice is reduced to a shabby one-line-alert at the bottom of the UI which alerts you of what you have picked up and what you cannot pick up all at once, most of the times transforming it in a messy, delayed, unfunctional stream of words players are forced to wait on in order to figure out what the loot was.

I may be presumptuous in this, but figuring out what kind of ammunition that colourful shiny box is becomes really easy after some three-four missions, and the player may or may not figure out on his/her own why is it that the ammo box just won't be picked up. We don't need that kind of notice cluttering up the loot strea. What we do need, on the other hand, is to move that line to maybe a more functional column of drop information on the side of the UI, as a sort of escalading list of what has been added to the inventory, making the reading of the loot functional and immediate for a change. I don't speak of a separate window or a pop-up, I speak of sliding text put in order, to ensure the player won't have to figure the loot out after 2-3 seconds, or miss the drop at all because of just how cluttered the notices are.

DAMN IT JACK DO NOT GET HURT THAT IS AN ORDER

Keeping an eye on your team mates is vital, especially if you play a supportive role such as Trinity over a tank/dps Warframe. What really becomes challenging, many times over the actual gameplay, is to guess who is able to witstand another wave of enemies on his/her own or who is just too crippled to continue without some immediate healing.

Now, while it may be a tad too cliché, I've always liked the idea of player icons on a corner of the UI, where their health bars, energy bars and all are displayed for you to know who's doing well or who's getting a plain &#! whoopin' by Geoffrey McGrineer O'Blimey.

NO DAVE WE DO NOT NEED A STUPID WOW INTERFACE

It's true, I'm not going to lie. That sort of group interface is sort of reminescent of a game I've sadly spent far too many years on, which is World of Warcraft, a game I now forsake for its total disregard of the lore, its recent money printing frenzy and, most of all, its distasteful shark-jumping lore charade. In spite of all these despicable traits, I feel a game of that kind devised some social and UI features better than Warframe currently shows.

YOUSE GOTS THE STUPID OR SOMMAT YA RUDDY GIT

It's a long topic, yes. I probably wouldn't have written half the amount of words I deployed on this topic if I were not interested the way I am in the future development of this game. As you can probably figure out from the forum profile, I signed for a Founder Account, which should hopefully signify how interested I am in the future of this game. These are just some of the tips I feel like suggesting for the improvement of the interface, and I most likely missed a few. Truth be told these are the biggest issues I felt like sharing with the forum community, and I may or may not get back on it to add more things. This is by no means a complaint, I wouldn't be writing on the forums if I weren't certain suggestions are welcomed and taken in account for future versions.

Thanks a lot for reading. Please, let me know what you think, and in what way I may be wrong on these subjects, or in what way what I suggested could be improved even further.
