  1. Didn't bother reading all the comments but I can attest that if you buy syndicate relic packs, any relic currently available in the game, can and will drop from those packs.  This includes the most recent unvaulted Rhino/Nyx relics.  Stock up about 300-400 medallions for 3 factions and buy the relic packs when new relics come out.  You will get some.  I can't speak as confidently about the packs you buy with plat as I only do that occasionally. Syndicate packs are 2 lith/meso and 1 Neo/Axis so you aren't going to get as many Neo/Axis but they will drop.

  2. Nova, molecular prime them and then shoot the Dargyn but you MUST shoot the Dargyn in the front for the pilot to get knocked off and then M prime finishes him off.  You shoot them from the side or rear AT ALL and the pilot dies as the Dargyn explodes and it won't register.  Patience is key but it works, works for the sliding challenge as well.

I do! It's because every Starter frame's usage drops to about 30% of their original levels by MR6. At MR5 it's 50%, consistent across the board with all of them. That MR is where other frames become actually fully levelled, explored and able to be played in preference of your Starter, no matter which it is.

In proportion, every Starter has equal abandonment, in actual numbers, however, far more people abandon Excal and Volt than abandon Mag. After all, a loss of 50% when you only have 100 to start with is only 50, but when you have 1000 it's 500.

By OP's chart, we should be looking at why so many more people abandon Excal and Volt by MR5 and 6 than abandon Mag.

I believe Mag needs work, but this chart is not the reason for it, and OP cannot read statistics.

nicely put.  I know I haven't played Excal, unless I use him to unlock a riven, in ages.  You move on and play something else.  Umbra didn't really excite me either but it seems he's pretty useful.

What I do know is the Mag I see fairly routinely can wipe a room pretty efficiently.  If someone doesn't like how she does that, ok, no problem, but she doesn't need a rework because she's not currently useful.  She's a mult-tooled killer of most anything in the game, hoards or a boss.

    This thread is really old.

And I have run the route and not gotten any wisps several times. I have a specific build with Loot Radar + Thief's Wit + Animal Instinct equipped every time I enter Cetus plains.  I didn't rely on that method to get wisps, I get them by doing bounties (as a bounty reward and by pure chance whenever I happen to be near water should they happen to spawn), I get more varied loot worth my time in the plains this way.

I don't enter plains specifically to farm only Wisps like a walking/flying simulator back & forth dealing with a loading screen gate multiple times, that is an inefficient (and boring) way of farming the Cetus Plains. I crafted everything that needs wisps by now and still have 300+ left over.

    From the wiki:

    • During the day, 3-4 Wisps will spawn across the entirety of the Plains. At night, the number of Wisps spawned will increase to 6-8.
    • Wisps have set spawn points and will choose from a subset of those to spawn at upon entering the Plains, after which no more Wisps will spawn for that session. To continue searching for more Wisps, players will have to spawn a new instance of the Plains.

If nothing spawns on the route, that means the wisps spawned at far away water spots. Since this is a RNG game, everybody has their own unique experience. You cannot use your personal experience as if it's representative for others.
You mentioned Ivara like she's hard to farm. Well, I got her parts very quickly.  Another big example: sorties. Some people go 2 weeks without getting rivens while I am sick of getting them so many times.

RNG = RNG.   No such thing as "this is more RNG than another RNG"

So EVERY time you enter the plains night or day, there are wisps there, you just have to find them.  To get Ivara BP and helm (IIRC) you have to flawlessly crack 3 vaults in a high level spy to get A CHANCE at one of those parts.  One of these is not like the other.  I don't remember how many spies I did to get all the Ivara parts but it was more than a few.  Couldn't get the helm while I got 3 bp's.  That is grinding, that is getting RNG'd.  You want to run bounties to get wisps, by all means, go for it.  That's relying on RNG, but have at it.  If someone can't find wisps on the plains while specifically farming wisps, something is wrong with their method.  You just supplied proof that the only thing random about that is where the wisps are, NOT that they are or are not there.  THEY ARE THERE, just go find them or go back to the gate and generate a new map, but STOP with the 'this is so HARD' garbage.  It may be boring, it may be tedious, it might not be your thing, but it is not difficult nor unfair and it is not the same RNG as getting a riven, a prime part or 8000 other things in this game.

Be grateful for your RNG luck on rivens, try getting sick on getting a sculpture, a booster, endo or any of the other rewards not named a riven.  That's me.

No way, no how is farming wisps even remotely the same RNG as 90% of the rest of this game.  Go farm Equinox and tell me that is the same.  Or Stalking Fan.  I have two of those mods.  Bought the first one, the second dropped sometime around day 500.  I'm approaching day 750.  Not sure how many hours I've played.  I'd rather not know.  I have two of those mods.  Somewhere someone has 30 of them.  That's RNG, so be it.  Wisps ARE NOT THE SAME.

It's not "personal rng experience." It's not Ivara, Harrow, Khora drops where people say "I got it in 5 runs." Apples... oranges. You run around the lake a number of times and YOU WILL GET lots and lots of wisps. You don't have to attack or kill mobs to do it. You don't have to sit in a farming group for an hour to do it. You don't have to have a certain build to do it. You just walk out a door and run around a lake or two. The more runs you do and the more efficiently you do it, the more you will get. That's NOT "personal RNG experience" any more than how many polymer bundles you get in this or that run is accurately termed "personal RNG experience." You are the one being fallacious here and still are in this thread I just happened by after leaving it some time ago.

I am getting near the end of selling off the stuff from my last 3 day POE booster farming jag 2-3 weeks ago. Paid 80p for 3 day resource and drop chance boosters and ran a bunch of bounties/farmed while watching tv and listening to tunes, did -not- play the game 24-7, nowhere remotely near that, lots of IRL stuff. Sold 3 sets of exodia arcanes for 2100 plat, 400 radian sentirum for 1200 plat, 100ish heart nyth for 250 plat. Just foundried up another 200 nyth last night to sell and STILL have 200 raw nyth left. This is -after- farming all the stuff to make all the gear I wanted for myself. That's nearly a 3500 plat return on an 80 plat investment for some of the easiest farming I've ever done in 20 years of playing MMOs.

How many wisps do I have left after all that? 296, with nothing to spend them on.

The whole "wisp whine" is a farce, utter and complete fantasy and make-believe, and the hilarious thing is you can tell -exactly why- the whiners don't succeed in getting what they want in the game easily by their responses to people trying to help and tell them how to do something that is, in a game that is built around farming stuff as a matter of fact, absurdly easy. Not once in one of these threads has someone said, "Thanks, I never thought of doing it that way, I'm going to try that." Not once, it's just the same lame arguments and rationalizations over and over.

"But... but... it's not fun! It's not enlightening or enriching!" If you are expecting everything in a FTP game built on a GRINDING MODEL where players pay $$ to AVOID GRINDING to be "fun," I don't know what to tell you. There are dozens of different grinds in WF, wisps are down near the bottom of grindiness as a matter of fact and not opinion.

    Thank you.

What Altre meant is there are 2 sides of the same coin.   Having the wisps spawn in the first place is RNG by itself.  Many can claim "I get X wisps per run" , but there are also others who run the same farming route around the lakes but come up empty.  Not once but several times in a row.  I can understand their frustration. You can run the route as much as you want but if RNG is never on your side, you are literally wasting your time.  Take farming Ivara and Nidus parts, those on the bad side of RNGesus will take months of trying to get them all, years trying to get all Stalker drops. I'm glad I'm not among them but those players exist and their concern is valid.  Honestly, they are better off buying 2 wisps per day, less frustrating, more guarantee despite the very long wait.

I got my wisps just like davej83 described, during bounties.  If no wisps spawn anywhere, at least I got some bounty rewards and cetus standing. My time wasn't wasted this way and I did some shooting along the way rather than just running a marathon like a mindless GPS drone. So this would be my advice: try combining and multi-tasking your goals; you always end up with something rather than nothing.

I have NEVER run the route and not gotten at least one wisp, not even sure I've gotten less than 2.  Max out your loot radar.  One on your companion and one on your frame.  If you can run a route and not get a wisp you better check your route.  They are there, EVERY time.  Wisps are not as RNG as an Ivara part, not even close

If Mag is as awesome as the posters in this thread claims she is, why does her usage drop to almost 5% (at best) at around MR6 and stay that way to MR25?

I don't know the answer to that but a friend of mine mains MagP and she doesn't need an upgrade.  She's a mass killer, boss killer, anything killer.  Saryn and Nidus MIGHT give her a run for her money on killing mobs but neither of those frames can hold a candle to Mag in killing most bosses. Would I want her as my starter frame, probably not but that does not mean MagP needs a rework.  She's a flat killer as good as any in the game.  I don't care what the stats say, I know what I see.

What I hated is when Octavia first came out for consoles the music room NEVER appeared for over 100 missions. I’ve killed enough sentients to make multiple broken war sets. So I finally said “screw this” and bought Octavia. About a week after I bought Octavia the music room started to appear and now I see it almost every 5 missions on lua. I don’t know if it was a glitch or if DE deliberately did that just to make more money. Either way, I wasted platinum and now I have my suspicions when it comes to new, non-prime warframes.

I understand making them difficult to obtain but I do feel like I’m being played. No pun intended.

Ha, I've killed hundreds of sentients and I don't think I've gotten any broken war parts.  RNG baby, gotta love it.

If they don't put any rewards, then the it's gonna pretty much DOA. Yeah, some people would play for the E-peen of being on the leaderboard, but I doubt most of the player base would even touch it if they didn't get any worthwhile/substantial rewards for it. Making a mode without ANY rewards is nowhere in the devs best interest IMO.

Then you get exactly what we have always gotten. It will be difficult until someone figures out how to cheese it or DE makes it easier for everyone to do. When they put valuable loot behind a wall like this then everyone wants it and you get what happened with onslaught and nuke trin or you get an item that is worth a boatload of plat, or both.  I used nuke trin, not because I liked it, it was boring as heck.  The only reason I did it was to not waste my time trying to make wave 8 and fail.

I get what you are saying but most people say they just want harder missions, they want a challenge.  Why then put a rewards on those missions that will make those missions no longer a challenge?

  10. I'm in favor of this but on one condition, don't put any rewards for it.

Elite Sanctuary was supposed to be this, no?  Why did Nuke Trin become a thing?  Because it was the one sure way to get thru round 8 and have a chance for a Lato/Braton part. You want really challenging content? I'm all for it but don't put any significant rewards behind it because you then create a situation where something is locked behind a door.  If all you want is a challenge then you will play this without any loot waiting for you.  Put loot behind it and eventually it will become easy.  Either DE will make it easy or someone will figure out a way to make it easy. Now that I think of it, they already have this.  Go play elite sanctuary solo.  They can put up leader boards per frame used.  Who can go the farthest in ES with a frost or Nekros, etc.

  13. I'm on a 30 day resource booster and after doing a relic run last night, somehow I got 17 traces.  How is that not an even number if my resource booster should double whatever I was supposed to get?

That's a good point and it probably explains it. Burned through another 120K of standing and still haven't had any but that's the way it goes, getting the relics from the void has been easy by comparison.

I rely on relic packs for Lith, Meso, usually get plenty of those that way.  The occasional Neo, Axi is just bonus. Leaves me to farm just Neo and Axi relics

  15. do you have to be aim gliding when you kill them?  I use Nova for this.  Molecular prime will kill the pilot when the dargyn explodes.  Just make sure you shoot the front of the dargyn so you kill it first.  Barrel jump up in the air and cast MP, let the dargyn fly thru it, if it slows down, you know you're good.  Just wait til he's facing you again and fire away.

  16. Run your radiant relics in a group, it's not 100% but the math is much better that you will get the rare drop you want.  Yes it costs you some time on the recruiting channel and it's not seamless by any means but I generally have pretty good success with it. Much better than just random anyway.

As for farming the relics, do the high level sabotage for Neo and Axi and skip finding the caches.  I can do one run in 5 minutes.  The drop rate isn't as good but I figure it comes close to evening out with doing the interception to rotation C, which is close to 20 min. If nothing else, it will give you some variety if not exactly the same odds of getting the relic you want.

OR do all your syndicate missions, find as many medallions as you can and you can buy at least a couple of relic packs every day depending on your MR. This is shotgun approach will net you plenty of Lith and Meso relics and maybe a few Neo/Axi's

I save up the medallions for a couple of months and then turn them in.  Think I had 300 with 3 different factions. Bought maybe 50 relic packs.  Think I got 4, Axi S3.  So far I have a crap ton of Lith B4's, in the teens for Meso and single digits for Neo and Axi.  About the normal ratios thru the relic packs

Can anyone, especially any PS players, confirm that they've had unvaulted relics from relic packs? I opened eight or so packs with some of my syndicate standing and didn't get a sniff, I assume it's just bad luck but I've got a fat stack of syndicate medals ready to go and I'm reluctant to turn them in without being sure it's up and running.

I know it is in missions because I got one from Mot.

I did, seemed pretty sparse but I got all of them to drop from relic packs.  Just remember though, of the three relics you get, 2 will be meso or lith.  Only 1 will be a neo or axi so odds are pretty slim you will get the axi or neo you are looking for.

  19. There are times during the hunts that I cannot reload my Lanka.  I've even emptied the magazine and had to switch weapons to get it to reload.  Other times, I have half a magazine left but can't reload manually.

  20. Seems like this happens anywhere there's an elevator but I'm running along and all of a sudden I'm teleported backwards, sometimes on the other side of an elevator.  I used to experience this on Akkad or Kalazar, get teleported to a different part of the map randomly.  Now it is happening on other maps and I'm being moved much further from where I was.  Just a really odd thing.
