I'm not going into the "What is content" territory since my translation of it does not hold the road.

To me "not being content" sounds weird and falls short. So yeah "The perception of what is added "new to the game" seems to be very different from one tenno to another."

I dont know where the "White-knight" parts comes from either honestly but yeah hey why not toss pejorative names at People too ^.^ as long as you remain constructive in your criticism.

Pretending whiteknighting isn't an omnipresent thing in the Warframe community is laughable.

but we still remains into the The perception of what is added "new to the game" seems to be very different from one tenno to another.

Grind isn't content. Like. At all. Unique encounters, story quests, boss fights, raids; those are actual content. If you look at it from an outside point of view, realistically, Warframe has next to no actual content. Weapons? Grind and use to further the grind. Cosmetics? Grind to look pretty. Resources? Grind. Warframes? Grind to make grind a bit more interesting and diverse.

The only actual rewarding part of Warframe are Eidolon hunts, *certain* boss fights, story (which there isn't that much of) and just the plain old completionism that's present in all of the games of this type. People can white-knight all they want, it won't change a thing. Criticism just might.

I agree with you on that front, the only issue is overcoming the infrastructure issues with Warframe, and I'm not sure it would be worth it to invest in something like the "Grineer v Corpus" system which would be pretty much making an entire different system for PvP.

Now an interesting idea I had while writing this could tie into the Duviri Paradox trailer we saw, I'll put it in spoilers out of a courtesy to those who may have missed it.

      Hide contents

If our Tenno will be growing up and, as we saw in the trailer able to use weapons without needing to be in a Warframe, it could be used as a system where our movement is more realistically bound while our armaments are still functional, this would be a way to integrate a (theoretical) system for both PvP and PvE while also overcoming the severe issues of how Warframes behave against enemies compared to how they behave against each other.

Granted that idea is just a bit of spitballing, but what do you think of it all the same?

Yeah, exactly that was my idea. I don't know how understandable my ball of creative mess is (which I didn't even proof read, lol), but that is exactly what I was going for. Removing the overpowered aspects of Warframe and keeping the technical, interesting side of the space/shooter aspect of Warframe (which would really require Duviri not to flop).

The only PvP you might be able to get away with in Warframe is PvP where direct conflict doesn't occur.

In other words have ways to negatively effect opponents trying to accomplish a goal while also trying to accomplish the same goal.

Though secretly I must admit when the teams are balanced Lunaro is a guilty pleasure of mine.

The thing about that is, it'd have to be one hell of a fun goal to make sure people would actually play this and not turn it into another Frame Fighter (aka, play for a day and never touch again). There has to be some form of interactive content that would be easy to access and just as easy to navigate, with clear goals and engaging gameplay.

Not a fan of PVP in Warframe, so I'm going to go with a no on this.

The game was never built for PVP, and the Devs trying to fit it into the game lead to what it is now, largely ignored. Balance will be a difficult issue, modding will be a huge disadvantage to those who have PVP mods vs who don't, investing resources into this would mean more PVE delay, which is what a majority of Warframe is built around. Parkour makes PVP irrelevant. A good player can evade shots almost indefinitely.

Do you want Destiny style movement? This is how you get Destiny style movement. No bulletjumping for you.

Warframe abilities and weapons will need to be looked at and reworked, lest you only have x amount of frames and weapons to use. Meta's? Good luck having fun. Rewards? Without good ones, the mode will be dead on arrival. Good rewards behind PVP in Warframe? I see this going very well with the community.

Ultimately this will just be a side mode / gimmick. PVE can't be just a side mode / gimmick. It has to be meticulously balanced, optimised, and built from the ground up. The Amazing Eternals died simply because it could not generate enough hype, and there were too many PVP games to compete with.

TLDR/TLDC: Warframe is a primarily PvE focused game and that's what it is going to keep doing.

Did you even read the post?

  6. With TennoCon behind us, there are lots of new, and returning, eyes fixated on Warframe, and with those, a lot of wants and needs and wishful thinking. A lot of people are speculating that Empyrean would be a great PVP gamemode (to which I am inclined to agree), with the possibility to have what is essentially a Space Pirate combat simulator, complete with boarding, killing, destroying and pillaging resources.

As good as that may sound, that still wouldn't fix the current PVP, Conclave (but it sure would be a damn welcome addition to the game that would attract a broader audience).

Conclave seems to be stuck in a rut of "Ninja combat," where everyone is utilizing the ever loving hell out of bullet jumping and aim gliding all over the place, resulting in generally uninteresting and bland gameplay (despite sounding cool). What if we took the ninja aspect out of it, but introduce the PVE aspect back into it, for a Player vs Environment vs Player tactical based combat? What if, say, after the Duviri Paradox, when we see what becomes of the operators and their grown up selves, operators could use all of the weapons we now use as Warframes? You put those operators wielding 1-3 weapons (likely a matter of balance) of choice in a 4v4 randomly generated tileset (preferably more z-linear) where tileset-specific enemies would spawn. These enemies would drop either the weapons they are carrying and/or Spec Points which you can use towards building up your operators abilities for that specific game. Naturally, this sounds extremely like a combination of a Hero-shooter meets MOBA meets Warframe, right? So what would be the objective of such a gamemode? Flags? Kills per team? Well, how does building up your operator power up to transference (via killing enemies and/or mobs) and taking control of the (enemy) Warframe being protected by the enemy team? Yeah, that's right, defense missions with Pod-Frames. You read that right.

I'm almost certain this post won't get any traction (as it's about PVP) and it definitely won't be seen by a Developer. So tell me, my fellow Tenno, what do you think about such an idea? Prizes? Changes? Ideas? Anything goes!

Why couldn't they just leave the event running until it actually finishes, even if it would take a month.

Because no one wants to wait another month to get some sort of content after waiting for 2 months already...? I don't know how much of the game you've played, but us who've done, obtained and just pillaged the entirety this game has to offer kinda live from update to update.

It's not fun waiting. You must be able to understand that (I hope).

Does it matter? Did it hurt you to know that every last scan didn't fully matter? Did you waist a week and a good job opportunity searching for little scanable things just to find out that you didn't unlock the secret to life, the universe, and everything?

Seriously, does it really matter? How dare DE quicken a event for us, how dare they make a wonderful free game and then trick us by giving us more content. Terrible, just terrible.

Your comment contributes even less than the other guy's. Criticism should always be presented (this is what this forum's for), ass-kissing doesn't benefit anyone.

Right, because we all clearly live in the same country and the paychecks are the same everywhere. Oh and, the prices of PC components are clearly the same everywhere.

    Get a grip on reality.

    Pretty questionable definition of "predatory."

They aren't preying on anyone's addiction. They aren't subjecting anyone to questionable odds. They aren't forcing you to do or buy anything. They aren't selling incomplete products. They aren't attaching hidden fees or restrictions.

All they're doing is offering a package deal. You can decide if that package is something you believe is worth the price or not. The contents and price are made known upfront.

You not liking something doesn't make it predatory. Them not offering a precise package you want isn't predatory. Them not offering to sell you the contents of a package individually isn't predatory (me wanting six Oreos instead of a whole bag doesn't make Nabisco an evil company looking to exploit my cookie needs).

Seriously... You wish you could buy something without having to buy a package deal. Fine. Say that. Don't try and make this into a consumers rights thing with a big bad exploitative evil company when it ain't one.

If you want something say so, ask for it, and maybe leave the hyperbolic rhetoric at the door because it's not likely to sway DE in your favor, if anything quite the opposite. Catch more flies with honey and all that...

Bless this reply for being real and honest and calling out the cult of outrage. Love you.

Warframe has added frame fighter which is a 2d fighter not shooting i dont see why they can keep going

Yes, but Warframe Fighter was added as a spin-off game within a game. By no means is it at the centre of the gameplay. It's the same as if you said Warframe should add a Clash of Clans spin-off because it already has phone game spin-offs such as 'Flappy Zephyr' or whatever the Worm minigame's called.

  12. I knew this was going to happen as soon as new players joined in droves.

Let me explain why this isn't a good idea:

The majority of Warframe players, myself included, play the game for the relaxing and thrilling entertainment that this game provides. it's been this way for 5+ years and we've all come to accept that Warframe is a PVE game. Digital Extremes are now, or should be, known for their amazing creativity and boldness in creating new aspects of their products and are, what i would like to call, pioneers of the new F2P system, as well as improved Sci-fi genre. What makes people want to try Warframe is exactly that, not following standards set by 1-2 succesfull games, but rather creating new standards that are applicable only in Warframe.

While  a different type of PVP could attract even more people to Warframe, it would also ruin the mood of the game. Not one person in the Warframe community wants their game to get infested by standard competitive toxicity.

Therefore, adding a directly PVP centred competition would be a terrible idea.

If you enjoy BR style games, you've Fortnite, PUBG, Realm Royale (although I wouldn't recommend playing any HiRez games), etc.

  13. As the title suggests, this topic is about players purposefully going AFK. Note: this does not include players to tell you "Hey, sorry guys, I have to do x and x, I'll be right back!" or "I'm sorry but I'll be AFK for a bit." This is about the players who enter, say, an endless mission i.e. Hieracon, watch you do one excavator and then jump to a corner where they can't be targeted by enemies and occasionally move to keep getting rewards.

What I want to know is, with the abundance of players jumping back into warframe or just joining, we're bound to see more of this type of players (and I've already noticed this occuring mroe now than ever before), will we be getting another option under the 'Report' section called 'AFK'?

I'm not too keen on being the negative nancy here either, but I want to enjoy the game without being obstructed in doing so by lazy leechers.
    Constructive criticism is much appreciated!
