  1. First few hours of playing. Here's my impressions:

    • Passing doesn't seem to be working as described. The way I understood it is that when you pass to a teammate with a chevron, it acts as sort of a lock-on. As it is, I'm just throwing as usual.
    • Sometimes the other team can interact with the ball without clearing. Can't really figure out how it happens, it just does.
    • Stunlocking problems are big. Especially if you're playing goalie. Tackling in general needs some serious work. I love the idea of being able to steal, but it's so easy that between the boom-timer and the risk of getting tackled, it makes more sense to just lob it once you've got it.
    • Visibility is rough. Many times I don't know if the ball is loose, but was last handled by the opposing team, or if it's in the hands of the opposing team. The three pillars make sense, but if you're playing defense, they cause some serious blindness (maybe just make players and the ball always show through them?). As many others have said, the fov is in too close.
    • If there are an even number of players, the teams should automatically balance. Nothing's worse than 3v1. Well, maybe 3v1 and being stunlocked.
    • Can we just have our team colors as an aura for all players? Including us? Sort of a holographic team uniform.
    • Right now, speed is...well, it's weird. Sprinting is super slow. Catching up with the ball, running to the other side of the field, trying to get to a teammate, it's all very difficult without the shoulder charge attack as a quick boost, but it being linked to an attack can make it a little unsportsmanlike.
    • Is it me, or does the block attractor need a little more magnetism? Right now it barely feels like it works, if it works at all.
    • Could we get a mercy rule, or a concede option that your team has to approve? If there's going to be a punishment system, it'd be really helpful, especially when the teams are unbalanced.

I gotta say, when Lunaro works, it's incredible. It makes me shout, and hoot, and holler so much I feel bad for my neighbors. When it doesn't work, it's really unpleasant. I'm not expecting you to fix people, but tweaks and safeguards could make this mad hermit play well with others. Oh, and I'd be so in for a little Folding@Warframe server action. Sorry, SETI, fictional sports are happening!

  2. 1. A while back Scott talked about changing the way stance mods were acquired. Has there been any progress on this? If so, any kind of ETA?

    2. Also mentioned a while back was weapons getting stat bumps as they level up (in an effort to stop the "essential mods" thinking). Any update on that?

    3. Valkyr's (one of my favorite frames) lore implies that it was the Zanuka project that changed her, twisted her into what she is now. Her Gersemi skin visually suggests something more than "just" a berserker. Were her abilities different before Alad V got his mitts on her? If so, what was her role, or theme prior to that?

    4. With the new star-chart, will the planets/celestial bodies be visible? If so, will they show evidence of their terraforming? I ask, because that isn't the case right now. Phobos still looks like a dead chunk of rock from orbit, but it clearly has an atmosphere. Earth still looks green and happy, and Venus still looks mighty warm.

  3. Long time listener, first time caller:

    1. Several streams back, Scott talked about redoing how melee stances are obtained. Any updates?

    2. Even further back, Scott mentioned changing how weapons rank up (stat boosts, and the like), along with the crusade against "essential" mods. Any update on that?

As someone with improbably bad luck, both potential changes are very exciting to me.

  4. Kaluza came about when I started thinking about a frame that redirected an enemy's energy a la aikido. This made me think of gravity and how it can curve space-time (redirecting energy, if you will), which led me to the idea of a gravity-themed frame. I know there are already several gravity concepts out there, but I've done my best to differentiate mine from the rest of the pack. I've also tried my very best to adhere as closely to the physics of gravity as I could. I love Nova, but hard sci-fi she ain't. I'm very open to suggestions, especially with the numbers, which I'll admit I'm not very good with.

    Concept and Name Origin:

Kaluza (named after Polish physicist/mathematician, and originator of the
Kaluza-Klein theory, Theodor Kaluza) focuses on crowd control, disruption, and redirection of energy.

    Lore:

Tu'kul enjoyed mining this far out in the Kuiper Belt. Peaceful, quiet, and one hell of a view. Not to mention little chance of being boarded by the Corpus, or being cut to ribbons by those Tenno psychopaths. Most shifts he puttered around in his mining rig, and the worst he had to worry about was hitting a gas pocket. Then there were the rare days that he and his crew found something from the past. Something that brought attention. Something the Kweens wanted. Something best left forgotten. Days like today. Days that involved fleets of Dregs and Dargyns, of interrogations, of machines with names Tu'kul was never supposed to hear.

“Torsion Beam,” he thought they called it. It was pointed at an object so dark, you only knew it was there from the lack of stars behind it. His crew only found it when one of them got to close. Arkhoom's rig was crushed before he could finish the words “uh oh.” Shame. He owed Tu'kul five cred. And now, hours later, Tu'kul sat watching damn near half a planetary blockade, point this “Torsion Beam” at an object you could barely see.

An officers' Dreg unfolded its manipulators, and put something into the machine. Blinding, golden light flashed. Orokin technology. The Oppressors. Tu'kul shivered. The light coalesced into a beam that struck the invisible object, and like a bulkhead hatch opening, the object split down the middle, slid apart. He couldn't see what was inside, but boarding shuttles moved in, their umbilicals pushing into it. Minutes passed in silence, but for the pounding of his heart. Then screaming. Oh god, the screaming. Tu'kul desperately clawed at the radio controls, but he couldn't turn it off. He beat at the console, desperately until he couldn't feel his hands. Then silence. He sat, frozen. Couldn't move, only breath in ragged, panicked gulps. His heart felt like it would pound through his ribs.

Then he saw the strangest thing. The rocks, the chunks of dirty ice, even the stars themselves sort of...bent. They bent, smeared in a line. And suddenly his face hurt. It burned, and he could feel skin peeling off. And he was moving, tumbling. Then falling. His last thought was how silly his legs looked, all stretched out like that. Like noodles.

    Stats:

    Unranked (Level 30)
    Health: 100 (250)
    Shields: 75 (200)
    Armor: 300
    Energy: 150 (225)
    Speed: 1.0

    Abilities:

    Lensing:

Kaluza warps space-time around him into a semi-hemispherical lens, causing enemy attacks to curve away from him. This lens also amplifies friendly projectiles. Physical rounds (bullets, shells, etc) have Puncture and Blast damage (split evenly between the two) added to them due to an increase in velocity, while energy rounds are focused and gain an increase in damage. The lens lasts 5/10/15/20 seconds, and damage is increased by 10/20/30/40 percent

    Frame Drag:

Kaluza speeds forward 8/12/16/20 meters in shallow parabolic arc, warping space-time behind him. Enemies within .5/1/1.5/2 meters of this gravitational slipstream are rag-dolled. When Kaluza arrives at the end of his arc,  an explosion of radiation occurs due to the air molecules dragged around him (which were moving near the speed of light) coming to a sudden and complete stop. The blast knocks over enemies in a 5/6/7/8 meter sphere around him, and deals 125/150/175/200 Radiation damage.

    Graviton Sink:

Kaluza suddenly, and violently increases the local gravity within a 6/8/10/12 meter area, instantly dealing 100/120/140/175 damage. Those that survive the g-forces must deal with a vastly increased weight, and have their movement/attack speed reduced by 20/25/30/35 percent. The larger an enemy is, the more severe the effects, and a size multiplier is applied to the initial impact damage and the slowing effect (up to 2.5x)

    Collapsar:

Kaluza stretches out his hand and creates a region of infinite density, drawing almost everything into its singularity. Everything, other than friendly entities, within 9 meters of this singularity are drawn in, and adds to the mass. This includes all rounds, enemies, even pickups and mods (the latter two having the same, fixed mass). Maintaining this singularity drains 8/7/6/5 energy per second. When Kaluza stops applying energy, the singularity can no longer sustain itself, and explodes in a 6/8/10/12 meter sphere, dealing a maximum of 850/1000/1500/2000 damage, split between Blast and Radiation damage.

Entirely optional, totally rough, potentially unbalanced Passive:

Kaluza can make minor alterations to gravity as easily as you or I can drum our fingers and hum. As long as he's aware of it, he can redirect small amounts of force. As such, he gains a 20% (?) damage reduction when any of his own weapons would cause him damage (from the Penta, for example).

    Appearance:

Short as Nova, stocky as Frost Prime, Kaluza is dense and compact, with the musculature of someone born on a high-G planet. The sharper ornamentation and frills on other frames are muted on Kaluza, crushed closer to his body by his own gravity. Spheroids, ellipses, and parabolas dominate his form, to the point where one might see where the Grineer got their design philosophy. I'm thinking a heavy upper body, with large, spherical shoulder armor (think Samus Aran). Shallow parabolic arcs moving from the armpits to the hips, down to short (within reason), heavy legs. Colors range from dark, matte black, to deep reds (reflecting the redshift as light runs out of energy), to violet-whites (as light goes high-energy and moves towards the ultraviolet spectrum and beyond). Maybe throw in a dab of the purplish-green of the Void. His body is outlined by a slight distortion of space.

Yeah, I know, a little vague. This isn't my area of expertise. Heck, even “happy little trees” make me swear like a particularly foul sailor. I'll try to find someone who has talent in this area.

So there it is. Let me know what you think (this is my first fleshed out frame idea), and if you like it, an upvote would be appreciated. If you don't, constructive criticism would be wonderful.
  5. knowing I live like 30 minutes from DE headquarters is awesome!

Love thy warframe DE, keep up the great work.

So if we see someone licking the glass facade during one of the dev streams, we'll know it's you? Are you also one of the town/city's firemen? Because then every time we hear sirens during one of the streams we can say "welp, looks like Jack's on his way to work."

  6. --collstro--, this is fantastic. I haven't been playing much as of late since Cicero started (in part because a ton of stuff came out, and those damnable Steam holiday sales), but I've been keeping up with everything. Things have become way more occult since I started playing, and things do need addressing. You hit the nail on the head with everything. While I'm not part of one of the massive clans, I'd be honored if you put my name on the cosigner's list.

  7. Alas, the twentieth Livestream and I won't get to watch it live...

Anyhoo, here's my question: Warframes are being added at a remarkable rate, however we seem to have run out of planets. Are we going to see more "planets" (moons, dwarf planets, maybe even the entire asteroid belt) added, or will there be more shuffling things into alerts, survival rewards, and Invasion bosses? Honestly, to quote a great man, it's "getting awful crowded in my sky."

Oh, and forgive me if this question has already been posed. I did a search of the thread, and turned up nothing. And for some reason, the idea of reading 12 pages (at the time of me writing this) isn't all that appealing.

    EDIT:

I just thought of a new one: Right now we only have the Grineer ciphers. Will we ever see new ciphers for the two other factions that have dedicated tilesets, that is, an Orokin cipher and a Corpus cipher? I'd love to see new puzzles, as well as get a look into how our Warframes' systems interact with different code/computers.

  8. This is fantastic. The first thing I thought of when I saw the weapon was the Macuahuitl, and lo, I saw that you are up for suggestions for the next project.

Naturally it'd be a slightly more futuristic take on that weapon, perhaps using some other material for the obsidian blades (too tired to look for one now). I can see two versions: a single handed long sword version, and a huge two hander version. Equal parts slashing and impact, with maybe just a hint of puncture. Hell, obsidian is still sharper than our best metal blades, so it'd be pretty devastating on soft targets.

  9. The mythological ones, at least, cause death to whomever hears their voices. I'm not sure we'd want to hear that. o.0

This. If I'm going to die while sitting at my computer, I'd rather it be from a recreation of that one scene from Swordfish. Also, just thinking of the powers, most would probably use infrasound (lower than we can hear, and can also cause humans to quasi-hallucinate and instill a deep feeling of dread), or ultrasound, which we couldn't hear. So I'll just keep imagining the opening vocal to the Immigrant Song every time I use one of her powers. And wooden clog noises every time she moves with those kayak shoes she's rocking.

  10. Just a heads-up: it still deals Physical (Impact, Puncture and Slashing) rather than Toxic.

I was about to make a thread about this. I'm glad I looked before I posted. Yeah, now the Mire is even more useless than before (which is saying something), and is totally inconsistent with its description/visual theme. Now it's like I'm running around in that Monty Python fish fighting sketch, only instead of fish I'm using a frozen pork belly with some spines in it. Dangerous in a fish slapping contest, but stupidly insane (insanely stupid?) in actual combat.

  11. This...this is beautiful. I cannot handle the beauty. I have tears streaming down my face. Not really, but yay for hyperbole. Seriously, though. This is a great idea. I'm for keeping the keys tiered, but choosing what kind of mission you want to run. As someone who's spent entirely too much time farming for T1 and 3 Capture keys, and having a ton of other keys that are useless to me, I'm SO for this.

  12. I get this as well, only I just have to go through the portal to the other side and it'll happen without all the fancy footwork. It seems to be the same sound filter that get's applied when you enter a vacuum/decompress the ship when you break a window, or lose life support. I'm glad someone got a video of this. Also, nice find on the secret room.

  13. I'm getting this as well, although only in the current Invasion maps. I'm 99% sure it's the same sound filter used for when a room undergoes decompression (when you shoot out a window). For me, it usually happens after I transition when I move through the portal to the Infested side.

Oh, and if this isn't the same sound issue, let me know and I'll start a thread of my own.
