  1. The recent, "Fixed some holes within the new Orbiter" patch deployed in update 26.1.2 has caused stencils to be covered by a section of newly expanded bulkhead.

As seen here, in the recent patch the wall of the orbiter to the left of the window in the operator quarters was expanded in size or moved position slightly in order to cover a barely noticeable hole in the floor (seen here). This caused the wall to also overlap with any stencil in that area, from floor to ceiling, which is incredibly noticeable on some stencils.

We are currently working on a bunch of fixes to the dojo controls and systems. If there are any other issues related to dojo decoration please let me know. Thank you.

Sorry for the huge list, but you did ask for it :)

These are bugs reposted from the "Ikeaframe Central" discord.

Bug: Clicking on empty ayatan makes them filled [resolves on reload]

Bug: Sometimes, regardless of decoration type, the decoration will not move on screen, but it is actually moving. Leaving dojo and coming back will fix it sometimes.

Bug: When decorating sometimes you have to place one decoration INSIDE another decoration, and you can usually do this by being inside one of the decorations, which allows you to still select decorations in a room. The decoration you're in doesn't obstruct your view or your ability to hover over decorations. It seems the Corpus Conduit Pillar is an exception. If you go inside the corpus conduit pillar and attempt to select another decoration, you'll find it's impossible as your pointer will always have the corpus conduit pillar highlighted.

Bug:Sometimes using the clone function will spawn a new instance of a decoration in his vanilla state instead of the angle and size of the original, and it would persist for certain kinds of decorations. Only fix is to exit the dojo and reenter

The following bugs are from my own experience, or were found on the forums.

Bug: Dojo decorations are immovable until another decoration has been placed. Does not occur to all items or in all situations, but occurs on many items, most notably atmospherics and catwalks.

    User: Isaac_Ross
Bug: Seeming related to the previous bug. Some decorations are movable when placed, but only move part of the decoration. Examples include the fountain and lantern decorations

Bug: Scaling gets bugged sometimes. You can scale an item once and then it freezes and you can't scale it anymore. You have to either use the free scaling with the letter R or just re-enter the decoration mode (doesn't always work, the decoration stays frozen sometimes).

Items below are not bugs, but they do really bug me (ba-dum tss) and I would really love you forever if you fixed them.

Problem: When in the escape>decorations>decorate menu you must first click the item you wish to place, and then click the "place decoration" button. This is different to how decoration selection worked prior to 2019, where you could simply double-click the item you wished to place, which made the selection of items much less tedious. Currently the escape>decorations>personal decorations menu only requires a single click to select an item to place, with no confirmation required.
Desired Solution: Please make it so that decorations in the escape>decorations>decorate menu can be selected with a double click or single click, without having to consult the "place decoration" button. It's really really annoying to have to click two entirely separate places on the screen in order to confirm item placement, when a double-click to confirm would work just as well.

Problem: Many of the atmospherics decorations have selection hitboxes much larger than the 'diamond' selection marker. This makes them extremely hard to work around, as you must move any atmospherics out of the way of a project lest you unintentionally select the atmospherics decorations instead of the item you are aiming at. It is especially egregious on the larger spherical effects such as gravity wells, energy clouds, etc.
Desired Solution: Please restrain the selection hitbox to the size of the diamond for all atmospherics.

Problem: Possibly a bug, possible not. When atmospherics launched they had a single sized selection diamond. Now there are several sizes of selection diamond depending on the atmospheric you select.
Solution: Make them all the same size. Or don't, I'm not particularly bothered, I just though it was weird.

Problem: The Parent-Child system for dojo rooms prevents deletion of rooms, even if there is a valid path remaining to that room.
Solution: Do a path check to make sure there is a valid path to a room when one of its parent connections is deleted. If there is a valid path, allow the deletion. If not, prevent it.

Problem: Moving a room is a pain in the bottom, double so if you have it decorated.Decorating endless halls in a consistent fashion is also annoying.
Solution: Allow us to "save" a number of rooms, including decoration placement, which can then be duplicated or placed elsewhere in the dojo. Copy-Paste for dojo rooms.

Problem: Infested decorations are under the tenno tab, instead of in their own tab. I'm no infested!"
Solution: Move Infested decorations to their own tab.

Problem: It's pretty difficult to make stairs/catwalks line up properly. Especially orokin stairs.
Solution: Add optional "magnetic" effect to stairs/catwalks that connect them properly automatically.

Problem: There are not enough inspiration halls allowed. It's by far the best room, and you can only build three of them.
Solution: Increase number of inspiration halls allowed. We already have a 100 room cap, which seems sufficient to limit the number of rooms built.

Problem: Accent lighting has some really cool interactions with some objects, like making ice objects glow, but can only be done near accent lights, which restricts which locations these effects are available in.
Solution: Give us an accent lighting decoration that actively affects the lighting in a room, even if it costs a ton of decoration capacity.

  3. Can we please get a response or fix for dojo decorations rotating without user input as reported:

    https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1061742-dojo-decor-rotation-bug/

This has been going on since January. I'd love to decorate my dojo for this contest, but I can't because it's impossible to precisely position objects with this bug ongoing. Super frustrating in addition to the new lighting/transparency issues.

  4. This bug is almost eight months old now, has persisted through at least two dojo decoration contests that resulted in in-game rewards, and was reportedly submitted by [DE]Helen to QA directly three months ago. I vaguely remember hearing Steve say something about it being related to railjack, so hopefully it's fixed during railjack update.

I know dojo's aren't exactly core gameplay, and even less of the user base gets heavy into decorating, but this bug has gone on for a ridiculously long time consider how many people it impacts. Please fix, DE. My dojo has been half built for the better part of a year now because I can't place anything with precision.

  5. Bug: All of the "Corpus Robot Crusher Teeth" in my dojo have resized to the minimum size, as seen here. Before the update all of those teeth were interlocked like gears. Can't even fix it easily because the auto rotation bug still exists.

Probable cause: Corpus robot crusher teeth were a gas planet tileset asset, removal of the tileset borked things.

That would be me. I can't remember exactly when it started, but I know it was a very specific update. As the only real architect of the clan, it pretty well means the dojo is no longer being worked on (not great for trying to enter these contests now). In fact, when I tried to describe the issue to our warlord, he said it had ALWAYS behaved like that for him, as of the grid/snapping update. Now I can barely even put things down in my ship in a reasonable amount of time, trying to line everything up and rotate free-hand. I'm almost tempted to make a new account to see if I can get it to work on that one.

Now that I think about it, I believe it had started right after the first dojo contest was done with. Not sure which update came after that. Probably fortuna.

That sounds about right, I posted about it back in January when I first noticed it. I was right in the middle of a huge decorating project that's been on hold for a quarter of a year now. Please fix this bug, DE. 😭

  8. As seen in the following two videos dojo decorations are auto-rotating without user input and in violation of user-selected restraints.

    Items rotating mid-placement

Items that have already been placed occasionally rotate without prompting when selected

For both of these demonstrations I had billboard facing off, and angle locked at 45 degrees. There is no reason the item should not be parallel or perpendicular to the main axis of the room.

As far as I can tell the bug in the first video is caused by rotating through the 3 axis options (hold right click, press "Z" 3 times while in decorator mode) sometimes seems to add a rotation of approximately 5 degrees to the object. This new rotation becomes the absolute reference for rotation; that is to say if this bug happens, and then you lock to 45 degree rotation and rotate, it will rotate 45 degrees from the new center instead of aligning 45 degrees to the axis of the room.
The bug in the second video seems to be related. An item that has already been rotated several times will, when selected, occasionally rotate approximately 5 degrees off the center of its previous rotation.

    Additional notes:
As far as I can tell this only happens around the blue "Yaw" axis.
It also seems to only happen to an item that has been rotated through multiple axis in a single go. Rotating around a single axis, placing the item, rotating around the next axis, placing the item, etc... doesn't seem to trigger the bug.

I know ya'll are just getting back from vacation, but this bug is incredibly annoying when trying to make nice looking creations in the dojo. Please fix.

    Thank you for your time.

  9. DE, Please increase or remove the limit on inspiration halls.

TLDR: It is by far the best room. Without it players are forced to break out of the observatory in order to have access to a large unrestricted building space.

As someone who likes to seriously jazz up their dojo the inspiration hall was an absolute breath of fresh air. The other rooms are all frustrating to decorate in some way or another.
Every garden has prebuilt items or structures that force you to adapt your design to them, as does the hall of honor, and in the smaller gardens the no-build zones near the doors eat up a significant portion of the available space. Many of the larger dojo pieces like the curved ice wall literally do not fit in these rooms at all except at the smallest sizes and strangest angles, making them worthless in those rooms.
The other halls, in addition to being smaller and limited to a single instance each, all have columns that are annoying to design around or hide.

When I went on a tour of the winners from the dojo contest I noticed something that is common in my own dojo designs. Tons and tons of Observatories with almost nothing built inside the actual structure, but lots of stuff built outside them in space... in a zone that is supposed to be inaccessible to players.
Players are literally breaking your game in order to gain access to unfettered building space. On top of that, every single dojo you gave a 1st place spot to in the contest used multiple observatories in this manner. Your dojo contest judges already implicitly admitted that more free-build space makes for better dojo designs.

Which is why I was so excited about the inspiration hall which has massive unrestricted building space. It's big enough that the even the 6 doors don't eat a significant portion of the space, it has no pre-built structures inside the space that you have to work around, and it is big enough to place even the largest decoration pieces at their maximum size somewhat comfortably.

I was proud of my entry into the dojo contest, with what I'd been able to build with the available rooms and decorations that fit in them, but with the new hall I knew that I could make a much, much, much better dojo. Which is why when the dojo contest ended I blew up my entire dojo to re-build it from the ground up based around inspiration halls. The dojo I planned out had 11 inspiration halls, all with design themes already picked out.

I'm still going to be rebuilding my dojo. But now in order to have access to the same kind of building space, i'm going to have to build a minimum of 20 observatories, probably more to make up for lost space. In each one of those observatories I will be have to break your game in a minor way, just to be able to build in relatively unrestricted space. Then I will have to break it again, connecting each observatory through the void between them, just so players will be able to walk between those rooms without having to teleport.

So please, please increase the inspiration hall cap! Even if it's limited to like ten instances, even if that means having to reduce the available decoration capacity available in it. Please give us a way to enjoy decorating without having to resort to breaking your game!

I completely re-made my dojo once the first new set of decorations came out. It's intended to being looking like a natural structure that becomes more technological the deeper in you go. I was mostly a one person operation, I hope it stacks up!

    Thank you for your consideration.

  11. When in the arsenal main screen with the aksomati equipped it will play the sound of a single aksomati shot firing every time you mouse over the aksomati slot. 100% reproducability.
