  1. I wonder if the issue is related to drivers? As I am on the 970 currently, I'm on driver version 347.52. Is that the same one that you're running? I ask as I've not been using Nvidia cards long and am curious if the 900 series and the 700 series have the same version.

The latest driver version from Nvidia is 347.52 and should be compatibile with basically every card from the 400 series onwards. So our drivers should effectively be identical.

  2. Most prices, I have very little issue with. Frame prices are weird and not super coherent but they look pretty reasonable, more or less. My guess is that they're priced according to demand or something similar. Primary weapons are pretty universally overpriced (but not hugely) and the prices are all over the place but secondary weapons and melee weapons seem a little more measured and reasoned (minus a few exceptions). Cosmetics are what they are, and seem fair enough.

The items I think are completely ridiculously priced are the resources. 10 plat for one Control Module or one Neurode? 15 plat for a Mutagen Sample? Or 30 plat for 3000 Ferrite or for 300 (i.e. just three HUNDRED) Polymer Bundles? Just one resource booster can get you dozens+ of Neurodes, Neural Sensors, etc, along with tens of thousands+ of Ferrite, Polymer Bundles, etc. And a 3 day resource booster is just 40 plat (80 plat if you go for a full week instead). The value proposition there is just unfathomably bad. I cannot think of a single worse way to spend platinum.

  3. For starters, I would like to emphasize that I really, really enjoy Warframe as it exists right now. Having disappeared for about a year or so due to a whole bunch of different factors, coming back in the last few months has almost overwhelmed me with how much has changed and been added. It's great and I love every second of it.

With that said, I do think there's a kernel of validity to some of what's been said here. I do think the game doesn't feel quite as... broody, perhaps? Mysterious? The last time I played we were still kneeling in front of a starmap suspended in an abyss. Things felt a little more... mystical. Sort of cloak-and-dagger-esque. Like the Tenno and the Lotus were part of some sub rosa organization, moving to achieve esoteric ends. Things seemed... greyer, muddier then, in terms of motivation and morality. The mood seemed a little darker and more ambivalent. I kind of miss the notion of the Lotus actually being an entire organization that merely contacts you through a representative. A sort of black hand that silently moves through the solar system and steers events towards some inscrutable goal.

Maybe all of this just sort of arose accidentally from a lack of information or something. Who knows. But I did like that sort of feeling, and it's not as present as it used to be. Things have been clarified, brightened up. The Tenno and the Lotus seem like the not-so-ambiguously "good" guys in the fight these days. The Tenno feel a bit less like assassins and spies (ninjas, I guess) and more like... samurai, maybe? They have their own living spaces and hub areas and bunches of other stuff that kind of... humanizes them, in a lot of ways. And things feel less strange and "spooky" that way.

In terms of visuals and what-have-you, I don't really have any qualms. Things are literally brighter than they used to be but I don't necessarily see this as a glaring flaw or anything. You can still make a game with brighter visuals feel dark in tone.

Sorry, this is a little rambly. Probably not super coherent.

    Still love the game, regardless.

  4. I've had similar problems with the same (or very similar) symptoms. Driver crashes briefly, recovers, I'm switched to a view of my desktop but the game can still be heard running and (audibly) responds to key presses and mouse clicks (clicking still makes shooty-bangy noises, ESC key still makes the menu-pop noise, etc). I thought it might have had something to do with forcing some graphical setting through my GPU driver but the issue seems to persist even with the driver's default profile for Warframe. Windows Event Viewer very generically and unhelpfully describes the event as "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered". If I alt-tab I can interact with my desktop and close the game, but alt-tabbing back in doesn't fix the issue: the game still acts like it's running but all it shows is my desktop. Neither the game nor my computer actually crash.

This is with a 770 and the latest WHQL drivers from NVIDIA. I'm running the game with the borderless window option if that makes any difference.

It isn't a super common occurence, either (about six events total in the last month if the event viewer is to be believed) but it's irritating enough to take note of.

  5. I'm not certain what that is but I doubt it's a nod to the trans community. I would figure any LGBT references would be a little more... tactful?... than a... uh... 'suit boner.' It's probably just a piece of the suit somehow.

I say this as a fully sympathetic member of the LGBT community. And for what it's worth I'm sorry for the more casual transphobia you might be seeing in this thread, but I doubt a lot of it is intentional. Gaming communities are rarely known for their tact.
