  1. think about it this wa

you've got two 10 point mods. both are D polarity. you have one slotted, and you want to slot the second. You've decided to remove one warframe ability to fit it on.

Scenario 1: leave the ability slot, polarize one other slot to D

10 point mod A becomes 5 points by going in the D slot. 10 point mod B becomes 15 points by going in the ability slot. Total cost: 25 points.

if you go back to 4 abilities, mod A is 5 points and ability A is 2 points. Total cost: 7 points

Scenario 2: polarize the ability slot to D

10 point mod A becomes 5 points by going in the D slot. 10 point mod B stays 10 points. Total cost: 15 points

if you go back to 4 abilities, mod A is 5 points and ability A is 3 points. Total cost: 8 points.

Polarizing one ability slot gives you a 10 point swing when not using all 4 abilities, at the cost of 1 point when you are using all 4.

And if you use a higher ranked mod than 10 points, it becomes even more.

  2. If you ever only want to bring 3  abilities, repolarizing ability slots is a good idea, because your 1 ability on any frame maxes out at 3 points. There's not really any other mods you can max out for that cost.

Those times you want to bring 3 abilities, you can fit a maxed out card in the repolarized ability slot. When you want to bring all 4 abilities, you just put tesla in a non-ability slot for 3 points instead of 2.

  3. Easiest way to a challenge in this game is to bring your frames that aren't Trinty/Frost/Vauban/Nyx/Nekros/Nova.  Invulnerability, full heals, Safety cones, huge AOE enemy lockdowns, unlimited health orbs/life support packs, etc. nerf the hell out of high level survivals and defenses.

Loki, Mag, Ember, Volt, Rhino, Saryn, Oberon, Ash, Excalibur, Banshee, Valkyr... there's a lot of other frames in the game with a lot of strengths and weaknesses. But when you go to do the hard content most people bring two or more of the frames that negate the challenge.

  4. I dont see a problem with it. If you put it on a Rapid Fire weapon it kicks like a mule if you want extra damage. I mean, just try the Burston for example. No chance you'll hit a barn door with that.

The only weapons it has a decent effect on are hardly the best.

Flux Rifle - Drinks ammo like a faulty car drinks petrol

    Dera - Moderate damage.

    Torid - Very situational

    Lanka - Single shot.

Vulkar - Tiny mag, single shot.

Snipetron - Tiny mag, single shot.

The only two weapons I could see it possibly becoming a problem on is the Latron Prime and Ogris, seeing as it turns the Ogris into a nuke launcher, and the Latron has very high damage for it's class, and is very accurate with fire control, but that's all I can see a problem with.

Why do people insist on screaming at every single little thing that's remotely good and yell nerf? If they nerf everything you ask them too, you might as well remove all abilities and we'll all run around with water pistols and fight spud gun wielding Grineer.

Dude have you used this mod with the synapse? It's ridiculous. Just melts things. Flux Rifle too. Toss a Rifle conversion mod on either of those and you've got infinite ammo. You run a fully kitted synapse (split chamber, crit mods, serration, this, 3 elemental mods) with a volt shield and you can melt an entire room of level 100s.

  5. Waiting for everyone on your team to decide they're ready to go in a survival mission is getting pretty tedious. I don't want to go 30 minutes on every survival, but I've not seen a pub group since the change that is willing to extract at 15 when I'm just trying to farm void keys.

I don't want to go back to the way it was, where I could force people out of the mission by going to the end. It's not fair to people who do want to go as far as they can. But I think a good compromise would be to let individual players extract when they want to. Go to the end of the mission solo, wait 30 seconds in the extraction area, and you get out with your rewards. The rest of the team gets a chat message that you've left, and the round continues without the people that left - just like endless defense.

  6. The failure to understand the problem in this thread is amazing. Running out of oxygen in t3 survivals even though you kill every enemy and do not waste any oxygen simply should not happen. The fact that it's even possible means the level is broken and needs fixing. I've seen this happen multiple times and the reason is generally because of spawning bugs - there's just not enough enemies to kill to generate the life support you need. You stand around for minutes with nothing to shoot even if you run all over the tower.  I've seen what the OP describes once also - a decent number enemies, but no life support packs spawning

The failure condition for survival should be tied to killing enemies and using life support capsules properly. If you use capsules too soon, you run out of oxygen and fail.  If you don't kill all the enemies, you run out of oxygen and fail, or they overwhelm you.

If you don't misuse life support and you kill all the enemies then failure should not be possible, at least not before the 15 minute mark. But it is. That is a problem.

All of you  saying it's a skill issue are flat-out stupid.

  7. I think you're overstating the number of alerts that are 100+. It's nice to have them once in a while, gives us old timers a chance to get a challenge. I got to fight Jackal today at level 158, it was actually a fight that I got to use my best frame loadout and best weapons and still be challenged. There are far more level 20-30 alerts than there are level 100+, and you're overstating the time and effort it takes to get a frame and weapons to 30.

Drop tables could use fixing so that some of the more desirable mods are available to low level players, but high level alerts need to stay.

  8. Its clearly to keep people playing O.D. missions even after they farm nekros. New players need experienced players running the content to keep them interested. I would expect detonite to disappear from normal drops before long too.... probably into a new tileset, possibly hidden behind keys that require nav point. ... since I have 120 of them with no use.

As for the performance issue.... buy a better rig. My computer is 3 years old and I can host 3 other players and still run 60 fps. Its not like you need haswell and a titan to get decent frame rate.

  9. I'm chain-running Tolstoj to get seer parts. in ~10 runs I've had 2 of them that rewarded me Rifle Ammo Boxes as a mission reward.

The first time I got 15. The second time it said I got 50, although my inventory screen tells me I have 60 of them total, so not sure what's up there. I'm pretty sure I had 6 of them before tonight, maybe 7 from before update 10.

I mean, it's kind of nice to have that many but it's clearly not right.

  10. I'm not sure if there's any frame worse than Nekros; it's definitely in the bottom 25% of frames for strength/usefulness as it stands.

Every other frame has either massive damage or super useful utility. Soul Punch is kind of cool, but pales in comparison to a good weapon. Desecrate is hard to use and buggy.  Terrify is worse CC than Chaos, Bastille, Rhino Stomp or Snow Globe. And Shadows of the Dead is cool looking, but much less effective than most ults.

It's cool looking, but I just don't see a reason to use it compared to most of the other frames.

  11. If you're not willing to spend $2000 on the game, they don't want you buying most of your weapons and frames. That's the point of the pricing. Laugh all you want, people can and do spend that kind of money on F2P games. And if you're not willing to pay that kind of cash? Then it's better to make you grind, to farm, to sink hours into the game - because in a multiplayer game, the players ARE the content. Without you in the game and playing, there's no game for the big spenders to play either - and they won't.

The big score in games like this is twofold: sell minor conveniences cheaply to a large playerbase, but also sell major conveniences at an expensive premium to the kinds of people who can and will pay it - aka the "whales". To keep the whales and to attract new players for the large normal-player playerbase, you need a large game population online and playing all the time. To achieve this, it's far better to have players farming materials and BPs and actually in the game than spending money on frames and weapons to skip the farming.

If you're a regular player, willing to spend a few dollars on the game to enhance your experience but can't or won't spend big bucks on it, the business model is for you to buy slots, forma, potatoes and cosmetics - the kinds of things you can't easily get without cash, but don't cost much. Buying weapons and frames is aimed at the big spenders. That's how F2P works.

  12. Some way of trading credits for plat seems like something that will most likely happen, or maybe as a reward (one per super hard mission), would also work. As for the pricing, at the moment it seems shaped around the 75% discount login rewards.

Yeah. Discount login rewards, the steam sale, the founder program, plat giveaways like the alienware promotion.... if you're paying full price for plat you're a sucker.

  13. I'm also seeing helmet/chassis from every boss kill, no systems, and no rare materials drop. 10 runs on Ruk, 15ish on golem, 4 on Kril, a half-dozen on hyena... no neurodes or orokin cells or control modules, but chassis and helmets on every kill.

  14. Things I like:

    *Nightmare modes,

    *the new boss

    *new weapons and a frame

    *upgrading the enemy's levels

Things I think are a backwards step:

*Pictures only for what materials drop

*you can't see what planet your teammate has selected

Things I don't like that are new:

    *aura mod system is bad

    *You can't select non-nightmare
