  1. I am going to give it the old college try to get back into this game this weekend. I have a feeling even if I find this new movement decent, I think this game will have lost something special...

And no mods responded why this general discussion topic went into feedback yet. Mods always seem to do questionable actions on this forum.

  2. Some of those definetly do look interesting, but the ones that give more speed seem slower and a lot more 'wobbly'.

I can't help but notice you only talked about what was lost and didn't mention a single feature which was gained. In the interest of polite exchange, I would like to bring those up.

Bullet Jump: The big addition, sliding and jumping (as with the old front flip) causes a surge of momentum towards your aiming reticule. Requiring little (or no, depending on the angle you wish to go) momentum to get going, this offers traversal on the level of the old Super Jump and the current Tail Wind. You can also Double Jump and Roll after initiating to gain more height and more forward momentum respectively. It is slower than an optimized coptering, but it is consistent across all frames and melee weapons and more importantly it is much simpler to execute effectively.

Aim Glide: You can fly! No, jump good. Aiming as you're in the air causes a retention of forward movement while also letting you aim and fire at enemies as you do so. This makes large gaps easily crossed while not keeping you out of the fight for long. You can stop and Roll at any time to get back to the ground fast.

Double Jump: You can jump twice, which allows easy and simple traversal of gaps you previously would have had to copter to cross, probably launching you into a wall at the end of it.

Wall Hop: You can hop along and up walls with on-the-fly direction changing infinitely, which makes some of the gaps and climbs easier to do as you will not be capped on how far you can travel.

Zipline Walk: You can now change direction while on a zipline, and move up and down them far faster. This opens up a wealth of movement options as you can now go up to where you would normally have to begin the zipline at a nice sprinting speed.

Infinite Sprint + Exilus Slot: With Rush fitting into this slot and sprinting not being capped, some frames can just run comprably fast to how coptering could get you going. This combines with everything else to make you able to cover wide stretches of land quickly.

Was coptering faster? Yes. Is Parkour 2.0 a much lower barrier of entry and flows much more smoothly? Yes. Do I miss coptering? Absolutely not. I have not shed a single tear with it being put down.

Seems the theme here is that 'movement all around is better, but you can't move as fast'.

Another person who says will quit the game because coptering is not in-game anymore.

OP, you need to pratice your lying skills.

There are no lies. If I say I will do something or won't do it, I try my best to keep my word. For example: To this day ive yet to buy sc2 just because lack of lan (I used to play bw 2-4 hours a night).

    Moved to General Feedback.

This is not feedback, it was a discussion about coptering with other players. As I made clear in my post I barely played the game since it was gone, so I have no feedback to give on the new system.

  3. I logged in a several weeks ago and I was unable to copter. Found it kind of boring and did not play the game till last weekend (wanted to log in to get my primed ravage) and once again I found the game kind of lame and slow without coptering.

Here is my analysis of the games modes and how coptering helped:

Capture/ Deception: Slow mission, coptering made running across these big maps a lot quicker and more enjoyable/satisfying.

Excavation: Made collecting power cells quicker, powering the excavator quicker, going to an excavator across the map quicker, and helping a failing excavator or dying ally… With good movement and careful planning I could even shave minutes off this mode.... Bottom line: Coptering allowed players to be more aggressive in these missions, making them much more rewarding and fast paced.

Exterminate: Helped a little in normal games, but helped a lot when the last 1-2 survivals were on the other side of the map.

Interception: I seem to always have my allies dying and/or losing control of their location. Coptering made getting to them quicker and less painless. It also made it more viable to leave my own location for a few seconds (while there was no enemies) to give a quick hand to an ally…

Mobile Defense: Like deception and capture, this one is slow and very on low level missions…. Coptering only let you slightly increase the speed of the mission by getting to the terminal quicker. But I had a nifty trick, in low level void capture mission's id go search the map for secret rooms. If I did not find one I at least had fun zipping across the map, if I found one id let my allies known and everyone won…

Survival: Allowed me to leave a room quickly when no enemies were spawning. And get to my down allies. Also allowed a bigger buffer before id have to leave a room with spawning enemies to rush to another part of the map to get life support activated.

And that list is just for some of the things we lost... There was also fun things you could do, like copter with the ceramic dagger threw the nulifier and killing it as you passed thru (took good timing, but it worked)... Or some abilities could be casted while coptering (like oberon)... Or coppering thru a door before it closes in your face.

The game feels slower, dumbed down, and makes it harder to save dying allies. At best I see myself playing this a lot less and never putting more money into the game (I barely played the last +1 month), at worse I see myself quitting this game.

So overall, we need to ask ourselves…. Was losing coptering worth it? What did we gain by losing this?

  4. But WHY, for the love of the gods, he is locked at only 4 things at time? he sould bring 6. at least 2 guaranteed new things and at least 3 guaranteed old stuff (including event mods that i consider old)  and 1 slot that can be either,

said number can be decreased to 5 if shoulder and leg pads stop eating 2 slots.

I strongly agree with this point. Its very frustrating waiting for something you missed (for example if you spent christmas with your family instead of going to the void trader).

How does it hurt anyone to find 6 or even 8 items at the time? Or even 4 items EVERY friday, but maybe a new item every other friday?

The current system is just frustrating everyone. It frustrate old players, it frustrate players who missed something, and it frustate players who just started and might feel pressured into getting something due to the LONG time it might take for it to come back.

But doing a proper job is too much for DE, they would rather just hand out warnings to forum members and ignore PM's.... GJ DE, you continue to do a horrible job.

  5. Fro my experience the best meelee for oberon is the ceramic blade, you can copter at VERY high speeds and you can cast his ult in the air. With some practice this allows you to copter into an area, cast your ult in the air and move away from it.

You can also use this ceramic blade to copter in the bubbles quickly. But that also takes practice to get it just right.... And if you really good at it, you can copter thru the bubble and kill the nullifier without stopping (with the right primary of course, like the strun wraith, this works great and feels cool)

  6. That sounds like a step backward.

How is it a step backwards? It's simpler and quicker to get a game going.

My goal is to play the game, not look at the UI to get me into a game.

The problem withe the starchart is its too slow and clunky.... And it can be very hard to find a quick game.

  7. Won't read 72 replies.... but I will say ive been using the strun wraith for a while, its not only powerful, but its fun to use. With mods I find it has the perfect fire rate for fast fire without having really weak damage like some other shotguns.

So I do not know if its the 'best', it is by far the one I have the most fun with.
