  1. Harrow for me. He's been my most played since he came out.

I love both his graxx and deluxe skins.

    (1) I like how all of his abilities complement each other , and they really complement gunplay. He doesn't have any abilities that kill enemies.

    (2) His second, penance, with the increased fire rate makes a lot of weapons fun to play, and then with melee, it's pretty funny how fast his melee goes.

    (3) He's such a self-sufficient frame with healing, energy, and even a little invincibility.

    (4) he's still a good support frame. His fast melee gives so much extra health and energy for everyone. I don't have trouble killing with him.

  2. I'm enjoying the gameplay elements of the events. I really hope to see squad link developed more in the future. It's fun working toward a cooperative goal.

So I'm having a good time with both the ground and space aspects. But I'm on console and didn't have to deal with all the early issues, so that makes a big difference.

I do think the matchmaking for the event needs to be more consolidated though. I feel like I end up playing solo quite a bit.

With games like Warframe and Destiny, that really is true, though. Since they are both designed to last forever and take up all your free time, you really can't play both at the same time. There just isn't enough time in the day for the average person to play them both and make any kind of decent progress.

This is a big problem with how many games these days are going for the "live service" model. When every game demands all your time, how can you play any of them? The market is choking itself to death, because no one ever considers the time investment all these games require.

    I both agree and disagree.

I agree that these live service games are designed to keep you always playing, and they are very time consuming.

But I disagree that that means you can't play other games. It just means your "progress" will be considerably slower, but since these games don't really have an end, that doesn't matter much.

I usually get to play video games about 2 hours a night. Sometimes I don't have a chance to play at all. I'm currently playing 4 games: Warframe, The Division 2, Monster Hunter World, and I just started the Spiderman dlc. I make progress in all of them, but my progress is super slow. As an example, it just took me 2.5 months to beat and platinum Days Gone. Usually I try to keep it to two games, but since I'm enjoying these  I play them all.

Sometimes I wish I had more time to play so I could make more progress though.

Ok, so, in 4 Arlo gets together his congregation. In the visual it's quite small (for some reason, probably performance or something) but it seems canonically it was a large crowd, including some pre-existing Zealots and Kenga. Arlo then basically vomits out a bunch of infection tentacles to turn all those there into infested of the same strain he and the Zealots are - or more likely 'activate' the strain already there from healing it. The idea being that he infected everyone he 'healed' with a latent strain that got them to swear loyalty to him, but remain normal and non-infective so they can go around and convince people to join the cult. Once members got large enough, phase 2 begins - bringing the derelicts to planets to swamp them with infested.

Part 5 is a conclusion, that IMO is pretty rushed (see my previous post). It's basically discussing the above and clarifying that Arlo wasn't ever actually a real person - he was a disguised Infested organism that administered the above 'cure' to spread the infestation in a more insidious manner. It also suggested that the Infestation on Eris is aware of its plan's limited success, and that it may be going for a repeat approach, since Arlo's shoes can be seen in shot, implying he either survived the infection process or more likely, just got recreated by the plague.

Ah, okay thanks. That's a bit of a let down of an ending. I was wondering the entire time if he knew what was going on or not, but since "Arlo" isn't really even a person but just a disguised infested organism, that makes it far less interesting. Spent all this time developing this character that isn't really a character at all.

  5. In addition to playing Warframe, I recently started Monster Hunter World, which I'm enjoying.

I've been playing through Remnant from the Ashes, which is a lot of fun. But it's a short game, and since I've already beat it, I only play it 2-3 times a week now. But I think this game has a good foundation, and it will be interesting to see how it evolves over the years (if the developers continue to work on it).

I think I've pretty much given up on the Division at this point. The developers don't have a clear sense of direction with the game, and the recent changes don't seem to be enough to fix the core problems with the game.

I may give Ghost Recon Breakpoint a chance. Overall I enjoyed the beta; I'm just not sure that it's a game I'll put a lot of hours into.

I also plan on buying Death Stranding in November.

  6. So are the people Arlo infected trying to kill themselves or are they somehow being called to that kenga thing, as if it's feeding? At first I thought they were trying to commit suicide, but they're all just running into that infested mouth. So I'm not really sure what's going on.

It will be interesting to find out whether Arlo knows that he's infecting people or whether he believes he's healing them and being used by someone else.

  7. I agree with the general sentiment, but I also think it's a bit exaggerated in this context.

The Division 2 is also running a summer apparel event, and instead of cool looking tactical gear, we get sandals with socks, shorts with the American flag on it, and a bunch of other butt ass ugly clothes. It is a bit stupid to see people running around in this stuff, and it also means there won't be any tactical gear until the next DLC comes outs in November/December. So I definitely hate it there.

But I don't see the problem here. This event is pretty sequestered from the rest of the game. You don't have to participate in it for the 10 days that it's around. Plus, I didn't see any outrageous cosmetic items for sale by Nakah. The ball floofs are private to individuals' landing crafts. So I don't really see how this event kills immersion of the game. I could understand if you saw people with tubes around their warframes in regular missions. But all of the ridiculous stuff is sequestered to the event itself, and the rewards aren't ridiculous.

So again, while I certainly understand the sentiment, it doesn't really seem to me to apply in this case. (I also just started playing ESO two months ago, so I'm not too familiar with all the lore stuff there.)

If its the shoulders you're refeering to, they are still there. For some reason it didnt show up while they messed around with random colors. However, there is a moment where you can see the shoulder pads for only a second.

    Here:unknown.png

It looks a little bit better with the shoulder pads, but I don't get why they made the skin look like scales so much. It's just weird. It's too bad as I was extremely excited about this skin. I'll most likely just stick with the prime version now.

  9. This isn't the case just for F2P games; it's the case for most, if not all, games.

I don't have my PS4 in front of me as I type this, but a quick check of the trophies for other games would confirm this. Again, I'd have to check my ps4, but the percentage of players who hit level 30 on their characters or finished a certain number of story missions in the Division 2 isn't all that high. It may be higher than the numbers on Warframe, and that's probably because Warframe is F2P. Nonetheless, it's very surprising to see the amount of people that quit playing a particular game--F2P or not--after a very short period of time. If I checked the numbers for Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. the number of people who completed even the beginning missions tends not to exceed 50-60%. For these games at least maybe there are people who aren't connected to the internet, so their trophies never update. But in general, it's pretty surprising I think.

  10. You're not the only one.

Overall I enjoy the entire riven part of the game.  But I don't do kuva survivals very often. I would do them a lot more if they just gave more kuva, but right now it's just a pain doing it for 30 minutes for 1 or 2 rolls. I think it would be fair to have 30 minutes without a resource booster given enough for three rolls. 10 minutes per roll seems pretty fair to me.

Giving more kuva is hardly going to ruin the riven market given the amount of rng already embedded within the system. I've rolled my baza riven 65 times. I'm not even looking for a god riven. All I want is positive critical chance (I've gotten negative critical chance twice), and I'll take basically anything else with it. But in 65 rolls, I've never gotten a positive critical chance.

  11. Favorite Frame: Harrow

Favorite Primary: Ferrox is my most used cause I use it with Harrow, but I also like the Zenith quite a bit.

    Favorite Secondary: Akbolto Prime

Favorite Melee: plague zaw that looks like a huge scythe (goes well with Harrow), and I also like dual swords a lot, like twin krokhor and dueal keres (sp for both).

Luckily I’ve seen this discussed before. We do get discount coupons, but we can only use them on the in game market.

    We cant buy discounted platinum.

But as a trade off, we can use those coupons on Tennogen items.

I just wanted to point out for console players that you can buy discounted plat directly from ps store when DE have their seasonal sales. They typically have a spring or summer and winter sales where the plat bundles are usually around 40% off. If you check the announcements forum, you'll see the past posts for this.

You do also get market discounts (25%-75% off) as login rewards; these, however, cannot be used on tennogen items.

Missing out an "Exclusive reward" (armor, syandana, emote, Umbral Forma) is very likely definitive. Miss out any weekly challenge and you're screwed. This is the kind of pressure that wasn't required.

This is incorrect. The dev's have stated that you only need to complete about 65-70% and you can still reach tier 30 in the allotted time (10 weeks currently).

Many people are criticizing and making judgments without gathering all of the relevant information first. Get the information first, then make a judgment, not the other way around.

  14. So the description says:

    CRED OFFERINGS
Visit the Nightwave Cred Offerings to acquire the former Alert System Rewards you want the most, including Nitain Extract, Weapon and Helmet Blueprints, Catalysts, Reactors and rare Aura Mods. Earn up to 300 Wolf Cred by completing daily and weekly Acts, and even more with prestige once you rise past Tier 30! Wolf Creds must be redeemed before the Series is over or sold for credits, so use them before the frequency is lost.

So it seems that we do. Those tier rewards are just extra.

Edit: nevermind! There's 6 times we get those wolf credits.

  15. I'm cautiously optimistic for both Anthem and The Division 2. I'll be waiting a week or so after release to decide if I will purchase either (although I did put 300 hours into the Division). However, so far Bioware's transparency and dev streams have been relatively refreshing, but we'll see if they continue post release. One advantage for both DE and Massive (developers of The Division 2) is that they both have considerable experience developing looter shooters now, whereas this will be Bioware's first foray into the genre, so I expect more bumps along the way in regards to Anthem.

I'm fine with random rolls for weapons, but I'm not sure how I feel about it for the components (mods). The Division 1 had random rolls for mods too, but I believe they said they're changing it for The Division 2 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). With so many options, it becomes almost pointless trying to grind for specific items. One other concern I have for Anthem is that while they said there will be loot tables, they didn't make it altogether clear whether different bosses and strongholds would have different loot tables. This was something the Division 1 struggled with for awhile. On the one hand, if the same loot is everywhere, you can do whatever activities you want in order to acquire that loot; the problem, however, is that the loot tables become so diluted that it becomes difficult to get what you want, let alone with the right stats.

One interesting point you made is regarding the lack of rewards in Warframe, and Warframe is in a weird spot on this aspect compared to these other games. Because Warframe is F2P, nearly all of the cosmetic items are acquired exclusively through the store. But for Anthem and the Division 2, while i know they will both have cosmetic microtransactions, many, if not all, of the cosmetic items can be acquired through playing the game as well, which gives players an additional incentive to grind. Warframe doesn't really have this.

Anyhow, as I mentioned before, I'm cautiously optimistic for both Anthem and The Division 2, and I'm looking forward to watching reviews and gameplay before I make a decision to buy either.

My worry is that I have no idea what I'm going to do if I like both Anthem and The Division 2. How am I going to alternate between 3 of these games plus any single player games I want to play?! lol

  16. Although I tend to swap around between 4-5 different frames, my main, favorite, and most used frame is Harrow.

I use the ferrox with him, as I have a riven for it which gives me somewhere around 150% cc, and then with a number of different mods, it goes even higher.

I use the secura dual cestra's (sp?) (I like the idle animation with him) and the dorkham plague zaw also, mostly for fashion purposes.

I like the synergy with his abilities and how they nicely complement gun play.

Frost is my second most used frame and second favorite.

My preferences for the rest change a lot, but currently it would be:

    3) Gara

    4) Inaros, although it's been a long time since I've played with him.

    5) Rhino

    6) Atlas, has recently dropped considerably in use, although I used him a lot over the summer.

Recently been playing a good amount with Revenant, and while I like him and think he's a great solo frame, I'm just not sure how much fun I find him to play. But I also like his look a lot too, so I use him for that haha

  17. There's a few similarities with Rev's 4, but Garuda's 4 seems like an inferior version of Gara's 2 to me. Although I don't know the exact details, they both seem limited by range. However, Gara's 2 has the effect of reducing incoming damage, while it doesn't seem that Garuda's 4 makes you invincible or reduces damage. But with Gara's 2 I can still use normal movement and my weapons, whereas I can't do any of that with Garuda's 4. However, the one advantage that Garuda's 4 has over Gara's 2 is that it probably has a slightly longer range, and it does suck enemies into the blades, but it probably doesn't scale infinitely either.
