  1. One thing that definitely would help players feel less overwhelmed by the sheer number of rewards possible on different Void missions, would be the ability to choose a reward, from a slightly larger RNG pool, especially at the end of single-run missions.

    [tl;dr at the bottom]

Give players the option to stay or leave, and once they choose leave, give them two or three reward options, based on the tier of the mission ,and the amount of time/waves/etc. I can't decide if it's better to wait until they've chosen to leave, or if they would see all the options first, then choose to stay or continue. A lot of players determine whether they will continue fighting or not, by the difficulty in conjunction with the reward at hand. So perhaps showing them the possible exit reward options would be best. It would depend on the outlook you wanted players to have at that point. Play until you can't, or play until you get what you want. If you went with the former, it would certainly detract from the do the mission --> get the piece, farming aspect. It would also make people very mad, not to know what they're going to get when they leave.

I recently spent a good long time doing speed runs of Void capture missions, and Mobile defense missions (about a total of 15 of each), and from that I 7 boar prime receivers, and something like a few unremarkable void keys, as well as a few blueprints for weapons I've had for a long time. It would've been nice, at the end of those missions, to have at least one other choice, so instead of a 5th or 6th Boar Prime receiver, I could've chosen another key, or a Forma BP, or anything else really from that pool, other than another freaking receiver. I don't need that many. No one does.

A good tip, I think, would be to remove the Forma BP and keys from the Tier 4 missions. If people want keys, they can go pretty much anywhere to get one. If they want formas, there's (slim) chances to get them in the lower tiers. Cutting down the 'fluff' would help tremendously with making players more keen on working hard to do Tier 4 missions. Likewise, having multiple instances of the same prime piece is frustrating, especially when the piece is available in different difficulties. A Sicarus Prime receiver should not be a reward from both Tier 3 and Tier 4. It would infuriate me to be at my limit of offensive ability, pushed into a corner where I have to leave the mission at the very next checkpoint, only to receive another Sicarus Prime receiver that I already got from farming the Tier 3's for a week.

Ok. Well. That's my two cents. As a side note, I want to state my appreciation at your continued ability to improve the game beyond my greatest expectations. Your team is clearly actively working on making the game more enjoyable, and I hope to see this title become as well known a name as World of Warcraft. I've spent so much money on this game, more than I've ever spent on any other game, or indeed on my entire collection of other games I own, and it has been worth every penny. This is a free-to-play game that would be worth buying for $60 (in my case closer to $250+, but who's counting?).

    Keep it up DE!

tl;dr: Three exit choices for single run missions, two exit choices for endless missions.

Edit: If you like the idea, make it happen. Comment, upvote, follow, do whatever you can to get attention from DE.

  2. It's a slippery slope to charge for the app, because the whole thing I love and respect and the DE Team, and their efforts with Warframe, is that the game is free to play. And it's such a good game (in my opinion) that I've often said I would have gladly paid $60 like I would for a new 360 game. In fact, I've probably spent over $100 of my hard-earned cash on platinum and founders junk.

    ~Loving the headband, btw~

But that's just it, I didn't HAVE to spend the money, I WANTED to. The same should go with the app. You don't have to pay a dime to get it, but you have the option to, if you really want to.

As long as they never charge me to play the game, I'll gladly keep spending a spare $20, or $30 here or there when I get the 20% or even 50% bonus (40% or 50%, something like that, got that once).

I agree that the game does need some work, but a lot of those changes are either a) A NEW CAR gui or b) huge game infrastructure change relating to the purchasing and maintenance of dedicated game servers.

In the meantime, there's the possiblity of corroborating with other application developers, especially those that program with the Unreal Engine. Gosh, I would love to see some cool extractor minigames made using that...

  3. So I've been thinking about this game a lot, and about games in general, and the unfortunate trend towards more and more superfluous updates that become unnecessary and rarely looked forward to. The incorporation of more interactive elements within the game and involving the game should be looked into.

I know that's really vague, but that's because it's the introduction and you're not supposed to show your whole hand all at once.

The idea is this: utilize the omnipresence of Smartphones (Android/iPhone) to the advantage of the games more or less downplayed elements. In other words: Minigames.

Consider the extractors. For the moment, they're mostly useless. Sure, they're provide small bits of materials while AFK, but aside from that, they're just...there. So how about a slight change to them, and the ability to log on to you Warframe account on your phone, and 'hijack' one to control for a supply gathering mission? Make it interesting too, so that if you handle it well, it will lose less health on difficult planets, and if you handle it poorly, it will take more damage and be destroyed sooner. This would be a great way for DE to make more money too, if they gave you the ability to 'field repair' the drones at a platinum cost. If you're good, you don't have to spend money, but you can if you want to.

That in itself could be done fairly easily with a good crack team working on it.

Maybe incorporate the sentinels as well? Perhaps there's something you could do with those? How about an app that links with your account's Dojo, so you could explore a 3d map of it on your phone?

What other ideas do you guys have?
