    I love how everyone is always quick to jump on an OP. Those who agree are far too underrepresented. 

     

    My opinion on the matter is that nerfs are generally bad for any game. Instead why don't we buff the enemies. Like it's been said, we play this game to feel challenged. Like it's been said, try to go an hour into a mission and not empty a clip on a mob. I think customization is healthy for game play. I think nerfing things to the ground restricts players and limits creativity. At the end of the day nerfing is a lazy, inartistic way to balance.

    48.5 seconds is constant upkeep? i wont deny maximizing his buffs are bad for his other 2 abilities

    but the duration on both are pretty good, you can get 48.5 seconds, and thats with a maxed fleeting

    if you take out fleeting and put in constitution, you only have to reuse vex armor once every 70 seconds

    also, most frames comprimise1 or 2 abilities if they try to maximise the any one or 2 abilities

     

     

    The problem isn't the duration. The problem is having to recast. It's puts a damper on gameplay. I also am not fond of how you're limited to one build. All build should be viable. Abilities on frames should share a theme (and mods).

    I see a lot of responses defending his abilities and suggesting builds. If that was the problem I would have named this thread "Chroma is Underpowered." But it isn't The problem I'm having isn't with his strength. The problem I'm having is the restrictions on his build and how strengthening one ability cripples the other. This is a problem littered throughout many frames, not just chroma and I'm here to discuss. I don't need suggestions or anything like that. I just wanted to be understood and to have a discussion.

    Effigy's actually not all that great. Chroma tends to be most effective when you focus on Ward and Vex Armor. Fleeting Expertise is counterproductive, it's better to go with Rage for energy generation and actively get into harm's way to take advantage of Vex's bonus.

    I agree with you completely Xeno. But that's the problem. Build like Effigy, Loki Stealth, Mirage, clones, they all break the pattern of gameplay which isn't fun. I don't like that an effigy build isn't possible. I don't enjoy constantly reactivating my ability. It breaks me out of the immersion.

    Even still. His best ability Vex armor needs to be babied for upkeep. An effigy build isn't even viable. I think they need to learn a lesson from exalted blade when it comes to upkeep. I very desperately want an effigy build.

    Sooo I recently got Chroma and maxed him out. After playing him for a bit I started to dislike the inconsistency of his kit. For one, modding him is a nightmare because focusing on one ability weakens the others. But even worse everything feels clunky. The constant required upkeep on his two best abilities elemental ward and vex armor just isn't rewarding. On top of that: maximizing makes the far rewarding. My favorite ability of his, effigy takes up entirely too much energy. And we all know how useless spectral scream is. I would gladly forsake the group aspect of Chroma's buff's (which can't reach teammates with the god awful base range + -range mods) for decent upkeep mechanics.

     

    Sorry this post isn't overly well written. I don't post often.

     

    TL;DR: Chroma's kit feels clunky and upkeep on abilities aren't rewarding.
