this is helpful I dont have an Arca Plasmor. I took a Titania into the index this morning. everyone was like are you sure? Yes im sure. I have her set for max strength and duration. I kill with my Tigris and run around and pick up energy orbs. then I start Razorwing and go to town I use whatever frame I feel like using at the time. Using a frame that isnt considered "meta" adds some challenge because you have to change your strategy.

Well I would absolutely suggest getting an Arca Plasmor built, even if not for Index just to experience the glory of the glob cannon. Tigris variants should be more than adequate though if that's what you like, I personally just don't like the Tigris family so I steer clear of them. I have also had good luck with my Corinth and Vaykor Hek, generally just any shotgun set up well will probably get the job done (as with most of the game these days). I've even gone in with Vectis Prime and just ripped off headshots and cleared it out just fine. That's the beauty of Warframe, if you get good with something you can make it work even where maybe it "shouldn't".

You only want to polarize stuff you plan on either using for a while, or plan on keeping, because you don't get any mastery rank for releveling up a weapon again. Polarizing is there to make a good weapon/warframe/whatever even better, so it's best to save it for things you REALLY do plan on keeping ahold of.

Or take the route I did and become a forma addict just shoving them into anything I get the urge to modify!

  3. I personally use my Arca Plasmor modded for magnetic and gas plus the innate radiation and it can one or two shot everything even in high index. For a secondary I use either Pyrana Prime because obviously, or I use my Mara Detron but mostly because I can mod the same elemental combos as the Plasmor AND I have a Detron riven. Without the riven I'd say Pyrana Prime performs much more solidly alongside the Plasmor.

As far as frames go, ignore the whiny people and the shamers and use whatever frame you feel most comfortable using. I've seen all kinds of different frames work out just fine, if you're smart and know your limits and you're enjoying yourself then just go do it.

  4. My Valkitty runs around with my Guandao on, because it's big and fast and makes with the slicing AND the dicing. But the others above are correct, if you're stingy with forma or reactors or just short on supplies/platinum then maybe hold off a few weeks and see what the new changes bring. I'm not overly worried about DE "ruining" anything but it's very possible some currently non-meta weapons can move up while obviously good weapons now drop down the rankings. I'm sure it'll all balance in the end, the primary and secondary balances went well so I have faith.

  5. This...is actually a pretty good idea all things considered. I don't see much of a downside to it, they don't need to reintroduce relics because they haven't been removed yet so it's really just more money coming in for DE and an easy way for somebody without much farming time to grab a set of items they may not have realized were going to be vaulted soon. So make the announcement one week before the vaulting and for just that week have a "legacy access" available. It's like getting the money from the unvaulting before it's even vaulted then again down the line when it is actually unvaulted. It'd be a nice gesture for us and a great way to bring in a little more money with ultimately no real work from DE.

And perhaps best of all, they can't be accused of just being a cash grab because the relics and items are still in the game for that entire week, freely obtainable by everybody, the access pack is just there for people who are impatient or have limited time and want to grab the items.

Kudos for this one, you can have my upvote tenno.

  6. Well firstly I will say if you ever encounter this riven challenge again...just use Ivara. Sleep arrow plus Covert Lethality, easy mode.

Next, rivens are purely a game of chance. They always have been, there has never been a guarantee of a better weapon or better stats for a more challenging unlock, particularly since "challenging" is very subjective. With a little creativity I have found most riven challenges to require minimal effort, maybe a little luck but not much effort in the grand scheme of things. And as such I don't think there's any way to really judge the difficulty of a challenge fairly to factor that into the riven received, and it would probably just lead to a massive surge in sales of the rivens DE had flagged as "difficult" so people could try to get better rivens. Basically it would really confuse and hurt the market IMO and for no real purpose.

Thanks for all the info. The only thing im curious about your second build is the steel charge. Is weapon damage more important later on or was it suppose to be energy siphon that was suppose to go there?

I will prob give your first build a try for now since i dont have umbral mods yet. only thing i might change is the cunning drift to power drift so power str is above 100%. 235% range should be enough to start with. But the 2nd build looks fun. just hope getting the umbral mods arent crazy hard

Steel Charge is there because it has to be in order to fit all of the Umbral mods at max rank, it gives 4 more capacity than other auras and you need every point you can squeeze out to make it work. You could theoretically under-rank Overextended and Continuity to fit in Energy Siphon instead but I feel like it hurts your stats too much to warrant the extra energy, by that late in the game pizzas are cheap and easy to pump out so I just always bring some to fix energy when I need it and use Steel Charge to maximize the rest of the build. The choice there is up to you but for obviously-biased reasons I suggest my setup.

Swapping Cunning for Power is a definite option, I don't do it because spreading the spores further is more important IMO. If you keep spores stacking your damage bonus far exceeds what a little more strength would and with a high enough stack strength because even less important because the damage just becomes ridiculous. So you can eventually reach a point when strength stops adding to your output but range will continue to help at all times, so for that reason I use Cunning Drift. Also, in the Umbral setup Umbral Intensify takes you well past 100% power so you can really cut loose and use Cunning Drift to maximize range.

It is also terrible when open

Yeah I would be ok with the "spread" just being removed entirely to be honest. Once mutation stacks go up and your armor opens up, that plus the Syandana just really clutters field of view. I'd prefer it just rested in the down position at all times.

  9. Yeah a duration that low will absolute kill your spores, they need a little time to tick damage and strip armor, and also give you the opportunity to spread them. Not to mention Toxic Lash is amazing for spreading spores but with that low of a duration you'd basically be spamming it just to keep it up.

This build is a good one to start working with, high survival as long as you're smart and stay mobile, clears out massive areas easily, all in all a solid setup. And Energy Siphon IS the winner here for an aura, don't bother with Corrosive Projection as spores will strip armor for you quickly and you need your energy.

I personally use a slightly different version of this utilizing the mods from Sacrifice, if you haven't done that and don't want to spoil anything then don't check out the build, but if you're up to speed then feel free to check it out. It's an absolute monster of a setup, solos all kinds of intense content with ease.

This is it, and perhaps the funniest thing about this setup is that it only requires 4 forma on a fresh Saryn Prime where the first build requires 3 forma, so it's not as massive of an investment as it originally looks like. The problem of course is that it uses different forma from the normal build, so if you start with the first then eventually transition to the second it takes a few more (think my Saryn has 7 on her? Maybe 8 from experimenting).

Beyond the build, some basic tips are:

    - CAST spores only when you absolutely need to, casting it reduces your stacked damage so you want to spread them not cast them whenever possible.

    - Use Toxic Lash, like all the time. It works on guns now and not just melee weapons like previously, so if you use something like Ignis/Ignis Wraith you can spray huge areas with damage and force your spores to spread far and wide.

    - Be mobile, don't be afraid to get close and use melee when you need to, but know how to stick and move and never stay in one position for longer than you have to. You're tough but you're no tank, so don't act like it, take a hit if you have to, but then get away and make them regret it.

    - Use your molt, it gives a speed boost for escaping trouble, provides a target to draw fire away from you, and it explodes and deals a guaranteed damage proc to surrounding enemies. It's a great ability despite what some detractors claim, and you can find some pretty clever ways to use it and massively increase your survival potential.

    - Bring a melee with high range, good speed, and use Healing Return - I suggest a polearm like the Cassowar or a Zaw purpose built for this frame. Life Strike is a workable alternative, but it requires switching weapons and using your energy to channel...not the best option for Saryn. Healing Return can be utilized from quick melee strikes without removing your primary/secondary and with your forced procs spreading all over it heals plenty if you sweep it through a nice big group.

    - Feel free to use Miasma to finish off large groups. Once your spores are spreading and stacking, if a big group of enemies moves toward you never be afraid to just burn them down with a Miasma shot or two, just be mindful of the energy expenditure and keep yourself topped up with Zenurik/pizzas.

  10. As somebody who has maiming strike, has used maiming strike, now has it equipped on precisely zero weapons, but routinely solos whatever the hell I want...I don't think it's necessary in any way. Not to mention, DE themselves hate the mod and the playstyle it invokes, they have said as much many times, and they have plans to make it go away completely with melee 3.0. So really, if you want to spend a ton of plat and be bored to tears for a few months while not learning to actually get better with your arsenal then sure pick up a memestrike, but it's not required and it's honestly not worth it.

  11. I find this to be much more of a problem on Chroma than on Chromatic Blade. I personally just use whatever I want for fashionframe on Excal and then adjust mods on the exalted blade accordingly so my energy color is accounted for properly. I have never had a problem using this method, however I do think it would make a lot more sense for the blade's color to be the deciding factor and not Excal's now that the blade is separately customized.

  12. Yeah I was a bit disappointed in this skin being for claws and not fists, seeing as Hirudo is not only Nidus' signature fist weapon but there are only 3 claw weapons in the game while there are 5 sparring weapons. Not to mention claws are decent at best while some of the sparring weapons are downright awesome, also Kogake prime was introduced not all that long ago and while it looks awesome on its own it would've been nice to throw out a skin it could use. So all in all the skin would get far better use as a sparring skin than a claw skin, but alas DE does not agree.

  13. The best way to get results when making recommendations to a developer is a to use a vaguely confusing thread title relating to a topic that has no real bearing on any actual gameplay, refuse to reply to comments, demand that what you want is done rather than ask for it, and then just post "^" as your only further input.

You pretty much nailed it here, textbook feedback post, kudos, I'm sure this change will hit with the very next hotfix.

    -snip-

than sadly i have to delete the older plain vanilla one 😞 (i love my Rhino but of course i don't need both vanilla and prime)

Just for the record...there's nothing wrong with having vanilla and prime. Because of different prime access and vaults and such I actually have 61 frames right now in my arsenal...while there are only 56 obtainable frames. I don't delete frames, I just can't bring myself to do it. So if you want to keep your normal Rhino for the memories (I certainly did with mine) then don't feel like you need to delete it just because you have prime. A layer of dust on top is better than slagging your beloved stompy boi.

  15. I will repeat some of the things said above, Valkyr is a far more sturdy frame and generally can tackle more things with ease than Zephyr can. That said, I do love Zephyr and have taken her through all kinds of difficult content and come out on the other side just fine, with enough knowledge and preparation she is a good enough frame to see some use.

I would recommend using normal variants of the frames first, if only because neither is too hard to get and they'll give you a good idea of which you like better.

Ultimately, playstyle and personal preference play the largest factors, and the choice is yours...but the correct choice is Rhino ~.^

  16. I have unfortunately noticed a lot of color matching issues with the deluxe skins. Many of the skins are amazing for sure, but when used with helmets that they don't come with or with some armors, what should be identical colors just mismatch with each other terribly. I have also seen some deluxe skins whose architecture doesn't line up with non-deluxe helmets as well, a good example being Ember's Kentucky Fried Warframe skin. If you equip the chicken suit with any other helm there is a very large wedge-shaped gap below her chin where it looks like her head is disconnecting from her body. Mesa's deluxe skin does the same with some helmets.

Overall I'd love to see some attention paid to optimizing skin, helmet, armor, and even syandana meshing across frames but the amount of combinations possible would mean way too much work for DE to feasibly do while also working on new content. I think the best course of action is actually if they added shading sliders to our colors and allowed us to position armor, syandanas, and primary/secondary weapons on our frames the same way we currently do with melee weapons. That would also take a little work to implement for DE but FAR less work than optimizing every gear combination AND it would let the players have far more control over the customization of their frames.

But alas, it's wonderful to want things and hope for things, but I have very little actual belief DE will ever be not-busy enough to notice this type of request and even less belief they'll implement it or something like it. It's fun to dream though isn't it?

  17. I am just assuming you're talking reactant and not void traces as you said gathering 10 per run, I don't want to be pedantic but they are quite different things so I want to be precise in my response. I believe that's what we're talking about though and if that's the case then yes I must echo the other responders, I dislike reactant for a multitude of reasons but it's not there to be an interesting mechanic it's there to make sure everybody is involved at least enough to pick up 10 of the things through the course of the mission and not just afk at the start and reap the rewards. People leech off of relic runs enough (looking at you Limbo, Loki, and Ash players that do nothing but collect your glowy bits), removing the one thing that makes them even have to move would end badly.

  18. Or very similarly (just trying to flesh it out for my own visualization) perhaps a group of 8 but they are physically separated from each other in two groups of 4.

    Phase 1:

    - Group A defends an access panel while Group B clears through a different section of the facility or ship to reach an objective.

    - Group B reaches their objective and Group A can then activate the panel they've been defending granting access to Group B. Group B advances inside to find a new defense objective which could be some sort of cryo pod as many defense missions have.

    Phase 2:

    - Group B now defends their objective while Group A has to work their way toward group B, basically reversing the roles as you suggested.

    - Group A unites with Group B at the cryo pod/defense objective which now becomes an escort similar to a Hijack target and needs to be extracted while massive waves of enemies set upon the area.

    Phase 3:

    - The united team escorts their objective, trading as they do to use their shields to power the objective's movement, while battling off seemingly endless waves of attackers.

    - Escort is successful and everybody gets some sort of decent reward, perhaps with bonuses based on time spent clearing between defense objectives or time spent escorting.

This would allow the devs to use existing resources from say mobile defense, regular defense, maybe even survival for some added urgency, and hijack. These are existing assets within the game that could just be adapted and combined making it easier to develop because a whole new system doesn't need to be built from the ground up. Have different scaling levels of difficulty as Bounties do with scaling reward levels and maybe even the option of activating special lockouts or hindrances like ESO and Sorties for even better reward chances and to scale the challenge more.

This could actually be a really cool way to bring back a real raid to the game that would feel familiar but challenging and rewarding. I like it, great suggestion!
