  1. Throughout my various missions I have been experiencing the occasional auto-block, with or without my melee being explicitly equipped. I have yet to ever install the Reflex Guard mod, so seeing this happen is a bit bizarre.

    Has anyone else seen this happen recently? I'm pretty sure this started happening only after I finished The War Within. I've so far believed it's related to my choices in said quest, but now I'm not so sure.

  2. Founder's names on mission nodes have always been overlooked. I suspect the only reason someone would sit and read through the list of names they don't recognize and have nothing to do with them would be to try and pass the time while waiting for the mission to begin.

    Personally, I'd prefer my name on a plaque in a relay, where it could be seen by willing passerby, instead of having it be seen in a side-scrolling manner. Even in that scrolling list, missions usually start quickly enough so 99% of the names on the list aren't even seen.

    It's like having a Walk of Fame star in a Relay instead of your name on one of those headline LED scrolling signs you see in some big intersections. Nobody gives those a second glance, but if the name is immortalized in a public area, where it's there for good, it's much more valuable.

    ... but that's just my 2¢.

    [So, apparently, the Founder names in relays scroll through in a list anyway. I hadn't seen one until just now. Personally, I don't have a better idea. Too many names to handle. Founders have been honored, and still enjoy their rewards today. Having your name somewhere in-game sounds nice, but with so many to begin with, your or any other Founder's name isn't so special anymore.]

  3. The things I miss the most, beyond nostalgia, are sound-related. Ship speakers, enemy comments in a language we understand (which imo were hilarious but totally appropriate), menu/UI sounds, BG music, weapon noises, etc.

    What I see here is those of us who've been around since before open-beta, perhaps even sometime later, can barely recognize Warframe anymore. The game sounds different, feels different, behaves differently... it's just different. Bosses didn't have unique models and voices, and were just cheesy buffed normal units with names.
    Movement nowadays is radically fleshed-out, a complete turnaround verses what it used to be.

    Might be a terrible example, but the reason us veterans have this nostalgia in the first place is similar to the reason people like seeing swords in modern times, whether in fantasy/fiction settings or not. Guns and lasers are very different than swords and bows and other such things, but are nonetheless much more effective in their purpose. Despite that, we like these old tools because they have their own character, when put beside an automatic machine gun or anti-aircraft laser.

    Back in the day Warframe was new, but unpolished, but we all loved it anyway... and now it's changed, and some of us just feel different when playing Warframe 2016 than we did in older updates.

    I hate to say 'unfortunately', but as of now I feel like I should use it, but Warframe has gone on a path towards an end that DE has planned for the game. We will likely never hear a "Leave my mother out of this" again, but really, that's okay. We have archived videos online where we can remind ourselves on how Warframe used to be, but then log-in afterwards and revel in a fluid UI, fleshed-out factions, and a boat-load of canon lore information, to name a few things.

    Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure we old geezers are just a little burnt-out, what with hundreds or more hours poured into this flawed masterpiece of a video game.

    Take a month or two break, and before you log in again, look up a playlist of all official Warframe videos, be them trailers, new Update teasers, and other stuff. I'm sure that will help reignite the passion you have towards the game. Our experiences of the pre-Liset, clunky, and blue UI and a game without "Tenno Scoom" will always be there. We had them, and they're ours to treasure, or to stubbornly hold onto them, making us dislike the current state of the game.

    That's my bit. Wasn't expecting to put down all of this, but w/e. Hope I said something that moved you.

    And remember, "stay close to the walls!"

  4. I'm 100% with you here. I don't understand why this weapon can only be in one form at a time.

    At the very least, to keep with the one-stance-per-weapon, choosing a heavy blade vs a twin sword stance only makes that form of the weapon it's primary/favored form; You start the mission with that form and while you are using that form you can take advantage of the stance.
    For example, I prefer twin swords to heavy blades, so I would equip my Dark Sword with my twin blade stance. The weapon will, by default, be in the chosen form of dual swords. However, if the situation calls for a heavy blade weapon, I'd be able to switch to the heavy blade form of the Dark Sword, but I can't take advantage of a heavy blade stance's combos.

    I don't know the default control scheme while wielding melee, but why can't the Alt-fire key/mouse button switch between the Sword's forms?

    The Dark Sword's gimmick is nearly pointless if the Tenno can't change its form mid-mission. At the very most, this weapon only saves us a weapon slot that would otherwise house another dual sword/heavy blade weapon.

    more often than not, that usually unstucks one flap and stucks the other. I end up having to deny myself double jumping, rolling or ysing melee combos in order for it not to clip.

    Yeah, it's off-putting when models in Warframe clip that badly.

    Maybe [DE] is addressing clipping in general now that they're working with custom melee weapon holsters.

    You can't build weapons and sell them. Only few special weapons from baro and syndicates can be traded and only if they are completely unused without potatoes or forma.

    IIRC the list of your sellable weapons shows their rank anyway. It'll at the very least show the items in the order you acquired them. Most often the one you want to sell is not the first item of that type.

    There aren't so many cases where you can sell weapons that this would be needed.

    Players with a budget wouldn't have the space to hold many items. Even people with platinum would reach a point where they'd want to sell an unused or disliked weapon to open space for another one.

    To do this players go the main menu, then navigate to their inventory. Most categories have something that can be sold for credits. A very meager amount of credits, but that's neither here or there.

  8. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I'm pretty sure Equinox suffers the same, or a related problem.

    Her Pacify/Provoke aura indicator shifts into the foreground, above everything but herself and the weapon. Not just with sniper sights, but with any manual aiming. I can't figure what benefit it could bring, so I've just assumed it was a bug that passed the sifter.

  9. Utterly beautiful design, I must say.

    Funny I was thinking about using a khopesh for one of my warframe ideas but machetes are mostly trash for the most part so Idk about the stance

    ... yes, I'm with you here. Ideally, [DE] would at least revisit the 'machete' class of melee weapons, in stats and in how they behave in the field.

    I was about to argue that khopesh' appear to be more like short-swords, but further reading tells me that they're designed similar to axes rather than a sword to flourish. So yeah, I agree that a khopesh weapon like the Phantarra would fit well with Warframe's other 'machete' weapons.

  10. I had a similar lightbulb when Operation Breeding Grounds was live.
    Players may have noticed a few poor souls around Breeding Ground tilesets where some Corpus crew are still alive. I made a thread wondering if a 'mini-event' similar to the Gradivus Dilemma was introduced to give players an incentive to help these guys out of infested growths. Influence points a-la Syndicates or the G-Dilemma.

    I'm 100% on-board with your idea. Super cool.

  11. I personally enjoy Warframe's present state regarding maps. I've been here a long time and the way things are must have just grown on me.

    The only way having a large free-roam map would make spatial sense would be on Earth, Phobos, or maybe the Moon. The rest of the game would (due to the setting of the game being in space, and by extension spaceships) need to stay as it is now, a pre-generated, random web of tiles.

    ... and to address the plausibility of large static maps, I'm not sure what your personal experience with Relays has been like, but I'm certain that most players have noticed that Relays with high traffic tend not to work very well. I don't know what the mechanical issue is, but if we had a supposed free-roam environment use the same technology as a Relay, Warframe would be near-impossible to play properly.

    In conclusion, a large free-roam map in Warframe is an extremely unlikely thing, unless the time-frame is at least a few years from now. By then, maybe, Warframe would have changed as much as it has over the past three years.

    To be frank, the maps generated as they are now are pretty much free-roam... X, Y, and Z movement with Parkour 2.0.... just relatively small compared to maps like in Planetside 2.

  12. Should someone feel that Excalibur Prime, Lato Prime, and Skana Prime should be available for everyone 'because of Mastery', I'd like to put this out there.

    For future reference:
    Out of the Mastery available as of Update 18.12.1, these three items are 0.0098% of the total.

  13. Polluted Waters isn't helpful relative to New Moon. There's very little point in adding 45 seconds to the focus ability, focus pool points, and Focus to have that passive. It costs more to unlock and costs more to upgrade.

    Most of the Vazarin school is fairly pointless. Upgrading a useless ability won't make it useful.

    The only abilities that I find worthwhile are New Moon and Disciplined Approach, and by extenstion Mending Tides itself and its Mastery passive.

    The 'healing' abilties in the Vazarin school can be used by anyone with the credits to afford respective Gear items. No special Warframes needed:
    Strengthen Defenses can be ignored because of Team Shield Restores.
    Even Mending Tides itself doesn't need to be upgraded because of Team Health Restores.
    ~~~~
    However, if by the small chance that [DE] did something like have Mending Tides be usable while in Bleedout, then Polluted Waters would be fantastic, even with the proc. Possibly even -all- of Vazarin would be useful, even at its present state... as long as it's usable in Bleedout.
    I don't see that happening though.
