But if you don't mod it for Viral, the heat would combine with the Cold and you would get blast. So if i would use Corrosive/Cold, i would have to take out the Riven. It can still proc Cold even when modded for Viral/Heat

    I stand corrected, thanks!

Gammacor’s incarnon is a combo of Proboscis Cernos and Lenz. Groups enemies up and explode with forced cold on the AoE, and forced Impact on direct hit. Even though both forms can use Cascadia Flare (by modding it for Viral/Heat) and it’s blast does the biggest damage, the direct hits gives the best results with Hemorrhage, especially with it’s 1 or higher fire rate and forced Impact, It’s AoE is only there to prime enemies with it’s status procs on armored targets past lvl 190 SP atleast. Not normal for me to mod a AoE Incarnon for direct hits, especially when it can proc heat reliably, but something about that Incarnon’s AoE that makes the AoE pretty weak.

If you mod Gammacor for Viral/Heat, the Incarnon explosion gives you Viral/Blast since it's Cold by itself.

Probably the worst Incarnon we've had by a very long shot.

  3. Whoever suggests buffing the enemies offensive scaling is clearly approaching the game from a very obtuse direction. Xaku himself proves how hard the strength of the enemies scales in comparison to anything else.

Overguard exists in order for you to act/think outside your very repetitive and clearly-not-macro'ed rotation. If everything was always susceptible to CC Warframe would get multiple steps closer to a functionally solved game and frames with access to good survability tools, some sort of offensive buff and AoE CC would always be on top of every other (Rhino's insane mainstay power over the years proves this). Limbo, for example, was straight-up bonkers without Eximuses (Eximii?) around.

The mechanic itself might be hated and annoy some of the player base, but it's definitely not a bad idea. Probably not the most creative of all possible executions, but certainly one of the most important ones. Allowing the player to get access to said tools is a step in the right direction given the ubiquitousness of Prime Sure Footed in any Endurance build.

So, no. We should be looking at ways to implement Overguard in a slightly more engaging way but the feature itself is solid and necessary.

    1) You are mentioning things (focus, arcane, mechanics) I never once said I was irked about

    2) It's not a "few starter frames". According to the wiki, there is a rotation of a total of 33 frames, which is more than half of the total frames that are currently in the game

    3) I have to reiterate that I AM glad that new players don't get to endure the grind we had to endure. Being "torn" though is not about gatekeeping, but about expressing conflicting emotions about an event. I do not aim to gatekeep, but I still feel like the hours I poured into the game to farm the frames just went up in flames, in a sense.

The post is more like a mini vent of sorts

Your time with the game was literally untouched. The "thing" that "went in flames" is your perception of value your time had in the game. It's a game nonetheless, and thus your time's worth is entirely up to you. Objectively speaking what you just grinded for is entirely untouched, and the time you spent doing it is worthless anyway, since it is a game.

On the data topic - statistics do show that after each new update there is a peak of users returning to game just to quit a week later.

And this is why i posted in the fist place  :  too many bugs , rushed content and not enough polish on the existing core components. Not saying it lightly like someone who played 30 hours total...

It`s like a mashed potato salad , some like it smooth , others with crunchy pieces , if you get me.

Or maybe reread my post about the tooth brush reference.

1500+ hours of Warframe, maybe more. Didn't even read your post lol, I was not reacting to your specific argument but to these "game is dying" threads which are absolute nonsense. If you don't like the game anymore then, as I posted above, leave. Game will be fine and dandy and when/if you return game will still be around for you to peruse and enjoy and maybe even criticize, again.

The reason you don't see bigger numbers on my post count is because I enjoy the game more than writing about it, AND I don't like to feed the trolls and I don't like engaging in Warframe-is-decaying threads, and sadly the forums are full of both.

Whenever I see any post titled: "this game is dying" I don't agree because the data does show otherwise, and avoid it if don't have anything else of value to add to a discussion that does not add anything of value itself. I could write a thesis-long post about why these doom-saying posts have no value on their own, and while I do appreciate the clear attempt from OP to separate financial success from entertaining gameplay (which is true, and if you need any example you have Pokémon, with shorter and simpler games overselling more complex ones time and again), there is nothing else there of value to the community in the post itself. Empyrean Part 1 needs polish? Yes, they know. Empyrean feels disconnected from the core gameplay experience?  Yes, they know. Empyrean plays differently from Starchart content? That's on purpose. You don't like it? That's on you. But instead of removing content (like Pokémon did) they are adding new one, so I don't think you can actually correlate your enjoyment of the game to the quality of it.

There is a clear difference from useful feedback and obnoxious doom-and-gloom posts, and this thread falls in the latter. So, I'll leave it with the recently coined phrase: "ok, doomer" and be done with it. Hope you find the fun you lost here in whatever endeavor you decide to pursue, Awazx.

I have read quite carefully and my post precedes the one with the statistics....

Have not even commented on the financial side of things.

Logic is a bit missing , because feelings I guess.

P.S game rewards are a bit overrated, movie reviews as well, an example :

    https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_the_last_jedi

    Please entertain us....

I was not going to engage, but I want to clarify: there is a difference between an Award and a review, and those are not the same.

Awards are assigned by Steam based strictly on income generation (you can read about it, google that). In a nutshell, based on numbers.

Reviews are author-based opinions based, well, on whatever scale the reviewer feels like talking about. In a nutshell, based on feelings.

And numbers are objectively precise, while feelings are subjective. So Steam's Top Seller chart each year is a rather transparent way of telling the entire internet: "hey, kiddos, these things are generating the most money". Warframe has not moved from the Platinum category in 3 years, and it is consistently among the Most played games (Top 10-15). Based entirely on the data we can pretty quickly conclude the entire "this game is dying" premise is nonsense, because as a service it generates a ludicrous amount of money and attracts, despite apparent contractions, a really large amount of players to itself consistently every single month.

There you go. The beauty of data.

EDIT: Replaced "Reward" with "Award", which I assume was you meant behind "game rewards are a bit overrated", otherwise what you just said makes no sense.

Every doomsayer in the forums is about to get a very a very very big load of reality right in their face once they realize Warframe has been a Top Seller for 3 years straight, and a Gold one the year before that (2016).

As expected , let`s all vote for communism , we all know how that ends. Obviously expressing an opinion nowadays is not encouraged.

Kudos to the mind police !

Because real life government and politics in real life are equally important as an online-based game. Ok, doomer.

  9. I was about to post the same thing:

Every doomsayer in the forums is about to get a very a very very big load of reality right in their face once they realize Warframe has been a Top Seller for 3 years straight, and a Gold one the year before that (2016).

How people still engage in this "OH NO THE GAME IS DYING" mechanic is something that absolutely befuddles me. If you no longer enjoy the game LEAVE for a few weeks-months, game will be alright when/if you come back, and if you don't, dude, you're out of the addiction, enjoy your free time!

Can we put a forum-wide ban on "Warframe is dying" posts please, at least for two months? Those topics are becoming more stupid by the post and are only circle-jerk fiestas where all the doom-gloomers congregate to feed of each other's nihilism while masturbatorily grinning at each other for their unique, smart, and insightful perspective on how the game is decaying and how they no longer enjoy it (as if it was some sort of unnatural achievement). It's called the need for a Real Life, dipS#&$s, and yes, despite having a worse RNG system and being even more blindly grind-based than Warframe (and leaving aside the perma-death mechanic) it's infinitely satisfying, and sometimes it is even more rewarding than our favorite "OH NOES IT IS DYING" game.

  10. The minute Warframe got back into Steam's Top 10 this entire post and its existence got nerfed out of existence.

Naysayers and people who believe OP has a point have proven themselves oblivious to the fact that a) even broken clocks are right twice a day, and b) statistics do not mean anything to your beliefs because statistics are facts and beliefs are feelings. They FEEL the game is wrong and has wronged them, and no fact in the universe will ever convince them reality is not how they feel it is, despite several players arguing and proving otherwise.

Thread is dead, since we reached the proverbial tipping point of argumentum ad hominem, ad nauseam by now. We can put it on top: "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here". Have fun arguing with Toxic Ancients why Warframe is not dead.

If you have issues with OP, take them up with OP?

You said "this post is about X", but there's nothing about X in the original post nor title. So either you are wrong, or he's wrong, take your pick.

Also, the better chart comparison does show growth as well  (10k), I didn't pick the time of the chart, I simply entered a date on steamcharts tool and used the first and the last data points. And still proves my point so whatever, my mistake for not realizing those specific hours/days could be misinterpreted as malice.

Yes Lich system can be so much more, and I hope it improves. But OP's stating a lie, and numbers show how it is a lie.

  12. 11 minutes ago, Fire2box said:

But anyways the entire point of this topic is the consistent albeit minor downtrend of players. Updates and the follow up surge of activity are the outliers, not the norm.

Meanwhile the post is literally titled "Warframe drops out of Steam's top 10 after releasing a big update".

And I just showed you how that is simply not true. Quoted from OP:

"Warframe has been dropping in and out of steams top 10 since Destiny 2 went free to play. This update didn’t bring players back. I’m worried this update did more harm then good..  "

And guess what? That's not true!

So you can say this post is about whatever. OP is literally lying, and you are defending a different thing that you think this post is about, while it's not.

35k players from 60k in a week. And the whole peak thing is only affected when that mean are logged on. And you see the peaks on the graph. they last a hour tops.

I will do you one better: One day before patch we had 22k players. The day after we had 87k. We're sitting at 43k right now.

Cutting charts when it's convenient for your point is older than you or me, in any case, as I said before, I know most of you that keep complaining would be undoubtedly happy to see the game die because you would have then the upper ground and say "told DE this was a bad update but they didn't listen". But the data is super clear cut on this. We have more players now than we had before the patch, and that is how it is.

    yFUFOAj.jpg

But I guess realizing how 20k Steam players are logging in to lich hunt while you're complaining that it is "too RNG", "too hard", "too stupid", "too difficult", "too easy", or outright "boring" does not fit your narrative. There are people that are enjoying the new patch, more than you want to even acknowledge. I know it's shocking for you, and a surprise, but I'd not be too quick to say "OH NOES WF IS DOOMED CUZ LICHES ARE TOO <insert adjective here>", because that is not the truth, period.

That is one of the most hilarious excuses i have ever seen.

Then why are you hiding behind an alt account if this is true?

Just barely passed the 100 days old, this is my only account, don't need to hide anything.

I've several friends that have been playing for years and just recently came back. Years, as in 5+. They tried to convince me several times to give this game a chance. And their vet friends, most of them reinstalled. It's anecdotical but for every truly salty "I won't come back" veteran I know 4 that are lich hunting.

And again, game's population has been steadily going up since release. Last month we had like 60k peak. We're on our way to 90k peak this month. All of you need to take a chill pill because content you don't personally enjoy is not same as bad or poor content, in pretty much the same way content you personally like is automatically good, guess it's natural bias, understandable but hardly objective. This thread has a lot of examples of "criticism" that is neither helpful, nor accurate, nor actually criticism (it's like a big child's tantrum).

I won't reply so don't bother quoting me anyway, I will be busy murmur farming. Rise above your bias and look at the game dispassionately. In January 2015 we had on average 20k players. We're about to double that number for this month. The playerbase is not shrinking, people come and go from "live services" games all the time.

You keep comparing it to Destiny 2 without realizing Bungie is twice the size DE is, with much more exposure (because Blizzard's BattleNet had the game previously), and that people are going to naturally flock to that game because it's the "new" thing. Elder Scrolls Online (Bethesda/Zenimax)  has less players than Warframe has. We are back in top 10 now, as of RIGHT NOW. That's as GG to this thread's title and to this thread as you will ever have, so quit crying, game's not dying.

  15. 1. After the first, liches take 2-4 hours each.

    2. Several Kuva weapons are top tier in damage. As in top 10.

    3. Melee overscaling was removed, but you can pretty much kill anything in less than 5 seconds if you know what you are doing.

    4. Not everyone is mad at DE. Most of the veterans I know actually came back to lich hunt.

All of you are overblowing your own anger. The only reason no one runs counter to your arguments is because people are busy enjoying the game.

  16. Disclaimer: I write this forum post for two reasons. First and foremost, to give back to the developers of this fantastic game an unbiased opinion that is not attached or linked to any sort of personal opinion about them or the work they do. Second, as a snapshot of sorts of my personal thoughts about the game after playing for 95 days, on a daily basis. It is going to be a fairly lengthy post so be warned. Also, I am just MR 17 and have not experienced everything this game has to offer. I am in love with this game. Should come without saying. It feels like a passion project that somehow became a sleeper hit before finally coalescing into an industry milestone out of the sheer scope and ambition behind it. The boldness, the uniqueness, the bravado from Warframe's core concept feels palpable and within player's reach every time the frame lands from a ten-stories high dive after bullet jumping our way through the scenario, just to rain down pure death on the enemies around when we finally hit the ground. The game knocks it out of the park as it does the Space Ninja Warmachine simulation in a completely mindblowing way. Congratulations to each and every individual that contributed to this game become what it is now. You should be proud. And, as if often is the case with these kind of ambitious projects, it has some rought edges around the incredibly polished experience that it presents that could use some work. They do not detract from the experience but in the slightest, and it would benefit everyone if those unpolished bits went under some adjustments.
    ______________
    VISUAL STRAIN

    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The game is, at least in the starting areas, visually tiresome. The contrast is really high from tile to tile, sometimes even in the same tile you will have issues, just take a look at Earth's forests and caverns to see what I mean: massive pitch-black areas side by side with open bright skies. Greens, yellows and browns taking all the space in the color palette in between those near-000000 blacks and near-FFFFFF whites. For example, this was taken on E Prime's exit:

    1uuaHSd.jpg

It improves a lot once you get to Jupiter, with its vast, open scenarios that have a more varied and less strained color palette, but it is mostly hit and miss. Lua has areas that are less stressful on your eyes than other tilesets (and some that are kinda harsh as well), but can't say the same of all of them. The Corpus scenarios, at least in this regard, are much better.

There's one example I really want to highlight here: getting hit by an Ancient Disruptor while on the Grineer Galleon takes this high-contrast issues and turns them up to eleven. I will try to get a screenshot of this to illustrate the point later today.

It would help a lot to alleviate the visual strain tuning down that contrast a bit to enrich the tonal values all across the game.

    INFORMATION OBFUSCATION
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

There are too many tidbits of info that are left behind. For example, there's no easy way to tell if a weapon is a hitscan or a projectile one. All the little details of each weapon, like Cernos Prime's 3 arrow shots, or any weapon's origin, or Ballistica Prime's ghost summon ability are nowhere to be seen or read about, or at least there is no easy access to it. And all of them are very important!

As it keeps happening all the time, not just with weapons, it becomes evident that the only way to play Warframe as a newcomer that wants to improve and carry its own weight at least is to have open the wiki at all times. It would be awesome if we could check the perks and oddities of our own gear somewhere in the Arsenal directly. In the same vein, it would be awesome if we could read about the buffs and debuffs we have active at any given time by hovering over the icons, at least in SOLO play.

    ____________________
    NEW PLAYER PITFALLS
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The consequence of not having enough information is having an enormous amount of noobie-traps that hinder progress. I'll provide concrete examples:

The Mods Rifle Aptitude (+15% Status Chance at Rank 5) and Shotgun Savy (+30% Status Chance at Rank 5). Both are Uncommon mods that are vastly overshadowed by rare mods (as it should be the case) but in such a way that makes it particularly bad for people that invested in any of them. Not sure about this but both mods would rarely see play if at all if they were +40% Status Chance mods... And why they don't offer the same bonus, why is the Rifle one worse than the Shotgun one? It would help new players mostly if they were buffed to, lets say, +10/20/30/40/50% Status Chance and no player with access to any 60/60 mod would use it anyway. Alternatively, they could be downgraded to Common rarity and add +30% SC at rank 5. Sure Shot (the Uncommon mod for Pistols) is another example of this; and compare to Melee Prowess that is a Common mod (with +15% SC at rank 5).

Not using starter Platinum for Warframe and Weapon Slots is another mistake I did when I started playing (Orokin Cell Blueprint, I'm looking at you). And speaking of the Marketplace..

    _______________________
    OVERCROWDED OPTIONS
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The Marketplace "for Platinum" store is full of buying options that could be relocated to NPC's. Anti-toxins, for example. At the same time, it has some confusing options (why there are Update Mega Bundles, but not all of them are there? Why Update 10 and 12 are there, but not 11? Why 13 is there, but it's called Mega Pack?

There's a plethora of things that you can buy there, that are easy or relatively easy to farm, that simply exist as Platinum-acquirable out of comfort. Pay to skip. And it's not bad per sé that they are there, but it would be awesome if it was on its own interface aside from the place where you get your cosmetics.

    MINOR DETAILS
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
It would be great to have any, or all of the following:

     - A Mod for Helios to scan plants.
     - Early game Kavats.
     - Full Mod Symmetry (Toxin Resistance exists as an Aura and as a regular mod, while some other elemental resistances don't even exist yet as mods). If not full at least better mod symmetry.
     - A way to highlight certain nodes according to loot search parameters, like this:
    4cYAeau.jpg
     - A descriptive text or a graphical way to show where you get parts of specific frames. Maybe something along the lines of a cryptic dialogue from the Lotus or Ordis like "We have reports of possible fire Tenno technology in the hands of General Sargas Ruk. If you rendezvous with him don't forget to bring back anything that catches your eye from his personal quarters."
     - Weapon blueprints as rewards after reaching certain Mastery Ranks. Maybe a selection of 1 out of 3 (just like the Daily Tribute). It would help new players with direction and a minor amount of resources (credits saved).
     - Better scaling of Rush platinum costs in the Forge.

    Thanks for reading.
