Yep, there will still have to be maintenance done to it after it is implemented that will further take away from areas that would be more beneficial.

Frame Fighters is the best example of this.

    • A project that was done as something on the "side"
    • Something that most of the community knew would end up with a lower player activity than even conclave
    • Still requires steady maintenance even though it has even less people playing it than Conclave

I would play frame fighter more, but the lag is horrendous, and the game is bugged.

However, there are people who are only here for over, but there are people who would like a good PvP mode, there's been plenty of posts all over the internet looking for a good PvP mode, honestly I feel they should just polish Dark Sector's PvP mode and run with it.

I'm not against PvP by any means, but when your main component to a game is as bugged as it is, any "spare time" should be dedicated to fixing that instead, especially end game components.

  2. Thing I always tell my new players is to focus your Warframe for defense and your weapons for offense early on, it's cheaper and it works. Unfortunately the pictures aren't loading for me, so I don't know what frame you're using.

I'd recommend getting rhino, he's a great solo frame for a lot of things.

However if you don't have him then it's this.

If you're playing Excalibur throw on steel fiber/vitality rank 5 will do fine, then you can add intensify for power strength for your exalted blade ultimate, which can shred the tougher targets quickly like heavy gunners.

For Volt/Mag throw on redirection/vitality r5. For mag do range and power strength for polarize and magnetize combo. For Volt do stretch and continuity for Discharge ultimate is great CC.

Then just focus damage/multishot for your weapons. You can easily handle enemies/content with these builds to keep progressing through your star chart. Also learn enemy weaknesses to elements, using those can boost damage greatly.

I noticed a comment about being an on/off player, but you're gonna need to join a clan or make friends, or you'll have a slow and inefficient grind to get to a good solo point. This will allow you to progress through most everything and you shouldn't run into any trouble until Chains of Harrow, because there are enemies that are pure bullet sponges that you have to kill.

Or you will need to keep an eye out for recruiting chat, quite often you will have players offering to help with anything because they're bored, so have them help you progress or work towards attaining certain things.

    Best of luck to you.

We're still 560 000 mastery away from MR30, though. For reference, that's roughly the same as the total mastery required to get from MR0 to MR15.

I don't think DE can make it possible to reach it just by adding more equipment.

They'll have to pick up the pace a bit, but it's not as impossible as you're making it out to be.

    1. MOD CONFIG D, E, F - I would rather pay some plat to unlock additional slots, not restrict to MR. MR could give one for free, for one warframe. Other warframes would be unlocked one by one. These could be 50-day login rewards as well. I would make it a 3-mod config slot, D,E,F, instead of only D.

    2. UMBRAIFY FRAMES - Should be restricted to Primes. Also, should not be a 'drop-in feature, but laced with a quest and lore dump. I would make it related to the quest to restore sanity to the Stalker, making him the Anti-Lotus, and a new leader for the Tenno, with the upcoming New War.

It fits very well with the acolytes messages. While you may think the acolytes are talking to the Tenno following a false leader, they may very well be talking to the Warframes, for them to stop being puppets and acquiring agency, like the Umbra does. "Acolytes are trying to wake up the Warframes" is just a headcanon theory though, but the language they use is dubious and may be understood both ways.

    3. BUNDLE OF IDEAS - my ideas revolve around stacking Forma polarities on the same slot. So, if I polarize one slot as D, then re-forma as V, ir retains both V and D. Therefore the slot becomes flexible.
Other ideas which may work: Follow the Paracesis route, where each Forma applied increases the level cap by 2, adding mod points to the pool. Or installing an additional Orokin Reactor increases the mod cap by 5 or 10, which can only be done on Primes.

Currently there's not much of a reason to push MR ranks, and that's what is being addressed here, MR 30 has been in view, but unattainable for the longest. We're contemplating rewards for achieving it, while some people are going in the wrong direction with the rewards, like the ability to polarize for umbra mod. They're misunderstanding that umbral mods are what separate umbrals from primes, and while I'm not entirely against  umbra mods being able to be on non-umbra gear, they shouldn't be so easily integrated into frames cause then WHATS THE POINT?

    1. 6 configuration slots is absolute overkill, and only getting ONE slot for achieving MR 30 is a bogus "reward." Kind of costly for taste when you're using everything in your arsenal and not just meta items.

Having to wait till after a thousand log in days to start getting slots for free is bogus enough as it is, considering that you'll manage to get plenty long before then and they are most valuable to newer players than vets, it's just adding another thing in to tear your wallet in half. I get micro transactions, but no need to go overboard on them.

Cost wise, consider everything in game; frames, frame ultimate weapons (regulators etc.), all 3 weapon slots, all companions, archwings/weapons. You're already fighting the market to make additional plat, and while everyone brags about being masters of the market, there is way to much to buy as it is.

I use every single frame I own at one point or another, and the only reason I'm not using every weapon is because I've not acquired enough forma to make every one of them viable yet.

    2. Your lore is a cool concept, but makes no sense, the stalker hates us, he wouldn't become our leader, he's trying to end us. It won't and properly shouldn't be a thing, primes only? Yeah it'll be a blast trying to get my hands on vaulted prime frames again. Yes, I would still keep my prime frames.

I don't see it happening because there would have to be an item you'd use to "umbrify" your frames, and that item would have to be difficult to obtain otherwise you'll end up having more of this item than there are umbras in the game, let's not forget that they would have to rush (never ends well) to make umbral variants for every primed frame already in the game, as well as make an umbral variant every time they release a prime frame. Let's also not forget that if they continue their path, they're going to release umbra based weapons with each umrba frame they make. Too much work.

    3. What is it with you and restricting things to prime frames only? Currently nothing is really restricted to primes, just takes more resources to do with regular frames.

The hybrid polarity slots is a great idea, but why would you want that of all things restricted to MR 30? Would be really nice to have that now, seeing as a lot of frames have multiple build potential to them.

There will be as much mastery rank as much weapon - frame they release. Each gives mastery points so once they end up adding mastery rank the game will die due no more content or level to reach.

I guess we will reach mastery 100 aswell so that will be a long process and in the meantime they will add 5-10 times of the content what we have now.

Pretty bold assumption you have going here, they don't really have to keep increasing mastery rank, it's not even a main goal for a lot of players to reach the highest mastery rank.

Leveling MR isn't a challenge till you start getting to the rare drop chance items, I took a year break at MR 12 and came back and got to MR 23 in about a month, now I'm sitting here because I'm waiting on Baro rotations and I don't have the motivation or good teams to farm ESO, as well as I keep missing the invasion mission for the last sheev (?) Part I'm missing.

    5. Prestige System

I'm not entirely against this idea, but there would be some things that would need to change.

    1. At the very least it should unlock enough slots for every weapon/Warframe in the game at the moment of reaching MR 30

    2. No more building time waits for weapons/warframes, or all should be brought down to 12 hours or less

    3. Event specific weapons should be maintained, but maybe MR restricted?

    4. I would be mildly concerned about the Mass amount of forma I've put into things, would be a shame to lose all that, as well as reactors/catalysts, so maybe make them a credit purchase in the marketplace, or just refund them to your inventory.

    5. Would also be a shame to lose the millions of Endo spent on mods, and billions of credits, but it wouldn't be a fresh start if you just had to build/level frames again. (Reactors/catalysts are rare enough as it is, in relation to #4)

    6. Change focus exp to something easier to level, rather than waiting 132 days (just for daily resets as if you were level 30 the entire time) or having to grind out eidolon like crazy. Maybe make it so mastery ranks give a good chunk of focus exp?(Not a fantastic idea, but at least I'd be able to get my operator back rather than grinding that over again)

Call of duty is the only game I bothered prestiging in, but they don't rip your weapon levels from you, you just have to level up enough to get them, this would also be a pain for primed warframes, seeing as how the vault exists.

The main issue with this idea is that there are far too many things that need to be fixed to "enjoy" starting over again.

Personally the exilus conversation would be nice, I personally feel weapons should already have an exilus slot for "attachments" the silencer, ammo max, mag size, etc. Even being able to put one of these on without screwing a build would be nice, don't even add the ammo mutation mods, I'm fine without those.

I think you lost me with the mod slot that takes no drain, are you saying convert an already existing slot to take no drain? Or give each thing a new slot? Doesn't matter honestly cause I feel like it'd be a little overpowering. Similar to umbral polarization should be a thing, but only for umbral warframes/weapons.

  7. You absolutely and entirely hate something you haven't even tried? That's the problem with this community.

First of all, 5 eidolon shards isn't hard to get at all. The rep grind for quills isn't horrific either, you're MR 22, I ground it out when I was MR 15, it's even worse for MR 10's as I found out by helping friends I got to start playing. The hardest part was figuring out which amp to get because everyone says the numbers to the order which the parts were like 223, but then come to find out they meant 333 or 323 when they actually tell you what parts they have. If your operator is maxed or you don't mind waiting for daily resets, then it's not gonna kill you to get into a few tricaps, get your shards and amp and move on.

MR25 and still haven't touched the last two Eidolons. I hate the fight! I can barely see the spots to do damage, can tell which phase of the fight I'm in, often can't find or damage the hotspots. I just bring a max strength Chroma and stay as close as possible to the squad member that seems to know what they're doing. Speaking of which, I still have to reach max rank Quills in order to get that last Amp strike, time to pull up the Eidolon clock app...

EDIT: tipsy posting, but I think I got my point across!

Teralyst has biceps and knees, gauntalyst and hydrolyst have armpits, biceps, and knees, dunno how it's so difficult for you to see the damage spots, literally shows a health bar on it. About the only thing I can figure is you don't know how the fight works and that you need to remove the shield first before you can damage the limbs.

Not sure what you mean by being unable to tell which phase of the fight you're in, remove shield then destroy the limb, rinse and repeat till quill onkko says sentient energy contained (the eidolon will lay on the ground for a bit) when it stands back up you kill it.

The only thing I hate about them is operator mode and how strict people are about meta frames. I hope the big spider boys can be killed with normal weapons and I'm glad they're removing time gate for spiders cause of feedback on eidolons

Play chroma or Trinity and you won't really even need to use operator mode. Strict is good, there's a lot of content where you can bring variety, but some content should narrow down to strategic compositions. There are actually a few different team comps that can be taken into eidolon hunting, but one is most efficient in comparison to the others if you're trying to do 3+ caps. I can agree that having to use snipers is annoying, and I would agree that it would be better with less of a time restraint, but with the way eidolon are you can pull more rewards than you used to from LoR.

Im not comparing warframe to destiny.

And yet you go and do JUST that.

On top of that, everything you're listing is just you trying to say it should be more like destiny rather than finding their own thing or tweaking what they already have.

    1. They may have servers for you to connect to, but the amount of disconnect is unreal when so many people are popping in when a dlc drops, and it screws everyone. When doc drops for Warframe I get disconnected maybe once or twice the first day, not every 30 minutes then sit there in a log in queue waiting to play.

    2. (Not saying sorties are perfect, because 9/10 times I just get the sculpture, and I now call the  riven mod a bronze gold tier reward) you complain about alerts and sorties which are actual engaging missions, you want to remove the challenging missions just to go and kill one enemy? What do you want as a reward? A rank 3 arcane energize? They're not going to give you anything good for something so easy and destiny doesn't either, they give you a piece of gear, which is practically cosmetic, because it's not at max light level, so you have to power that gear up. 2 different game styles, and I prefer warframes in this instance.

    3. While incursions may not be as engaging as Destiny's public events, the public events in destiny are hardly rewarding and have mostly been used for quests.

    4. That's in the game now, and not many like the constant loading, which is why they said they're allowing you to start new bounties without returning to the non-combat zone, which was announced on like the first fortuna preview, how can you miss this?

    5. Boils down to screen clutter, and that's not what they want. If I recall correctly destiny doesn't have this as well, you have to go to your inventory and go over to a certain tab. The only thing Warframe would need to do is add each progress bar in the start menu rather than having it cycle between your affinity challenge and riven progress.

    6. Destiny isn't even as seamless as you want to think it is, yeah there's a building you can walk into that enemies don't bother to take over for whatever reason and you don't have to worry about combat, but free roam in destiny for these areas is boring to start with and the only reason you find yourself there is when the game says you need to be.

    7. While I don personally enjoy having to go an hour before I start engaging challenging enemies, but you're suggesting that they add in...something....like....TACTICAL ALERTS?? so what? They have to add it into the open environment for you to care about it? If you're unhappy with the game stop playing it, but if they ever turn Warframe into an open world and get rid of what Warframe started as, not only will it be a while, but it probably won't happen. Not unless the game is on the brink of death and they've no other option.

I honestly feel like you've not played destiny 1 or 2 as much as you supposedly have played Warframe, I mean for starters both destiny games lacked on launch and through majority of their dlcs, playing 5 hours a day and I'd be done with content almost as soon as it was released, but maybe the difference is, I didn't get distracted running around doing unrewarding content, while thinking "it's fun to sit here and not progress"

If you wanna uninstall it, then by all means, go ahead. I highly doubt DE is going to worry about someone who seems like they don't care for their game in the first place and have posted in their forums promoting someone else's game. Warframe isn't perfect, but I'll play it over the BS that Bungie has dropped on me for a straight 4 years.

Edit: how come every post asking for new content starts with "I love Warframe" and then just goes on to list that you basically hate it? And you want it turned into another game like destiny or fortnite? It's funny though because you're here, playing this game, because the other game that you seem to really love more than warframe, is failing to keep you interested. If you have actual constructive criticism, then provide it, but if all you can do is say "become this game" then you don't actually love the game, and you're wasting the time of DE to make them sit here and read what they already know about other games. Warframe doesn't charge you a dime to play their game, and anything that actually matters in the game can be earned, if you choose to buy platinum or access packs, it's on you. I have and will continue to buy prime access packs every now and again to support the game, but I'm not going to sit here expecting Warframe to excel past AAA devs that not only charge you for their game, but charge you for a full game and provide 50-75% of a game, or charge you $40+ for minimal content and constant walls to slow you down while they half ass it to release new content that's glitched, and more than likely won't be revisited, or even of it is revisited, it will still be glitched.

  9. 32 minutes ago, zteeldragon said:

Have you heard the story about an AAA game dev that develop their game based on the focus group, the casual one that their data scientist advice. They end up released the game that lost almost entire player base in a month after release. Even its first iteration have one of the best raid mission in its genre. But because only around 1% of the player achieve that mission so it not a good record to make the dev invest in develop a good endgame content or raid anymore. At the end they come back with the 3rd DLC which fix above issue by focus on the content for their die hard fan. Yes, I'm talking about Destiny 2 and how it regain its player base back.

Warframe can't keep going like this, piling up content one over another to appeal to casual player. This won't last, it will run dry one day. End game content will definitely remedy that pressure of releasing the new content, so that DE can have time to develop a good content rather than release a bunch of mastery fodder weapon every single week.

Hey man, we get it, you can subscribe to news places and get fed bogus statements by third party people who's entire job is to create click-bait titles to get you to read their theory as to why a game is succeeding or failing.

The real reason destiny continues to fail in the pve aspect is due to relevance, they don't understand what a pve player plays for. Their "raids" as they like to call them, which is more like bugged beyond belief, glitchable, only there for gear group activities, bear little to no relevance to progressing story, as well as the only story progress came from the start of destiny 1 and the start of destiny 2 and veers off into the enemy factions just to give you 20 different sub factions which still don't actually provide anything important to story.

Is Warframe perfect in this aspect? No, but at least they don't need to release a whole new game and charge me a whopping $60 for 2 hours of story before veering off into the background of a faction splitting into 3 other factions and fighting each other, while still some how having the resources to pick fights with super powered invincible crusaders protecting the remains of their life and still somehow managing to lose, making it feel like all the ridiculous grinding you've been doing was for nothing.

Also, the "fodder weapons," you refer to, aren't always bad, as well as they're introduced to eventually bring the mastery rank to 30, which lines up with the benefits you get every time you rank up. As well as they can sit there and pile content on top of it's self, every game does it, end game for traditional MMO's is raids, which eidolon hunts wasn't the worst start to something new, and they can build off of and improve.

  10. IIIIIIIIIIIIIF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME GLADLY GO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE!!! 🙂

also dude, you're comparing 6 different games and just saying "this is why you don't have players" or "your competitors" listing off games that aren't even competitors like fortnite, Halo, MHW, and league. The only thing you're doing here is saying "I love the game" and following that statement up with "change it to be like this game"

warframe doesn't need slower pace and nobody is forcing you to fight fast paced.

also have you actually played half the games you listed? Theyre all fast paced, if you're good that is. The slowest time you have in league as a good player is when you're waiting on your character to traverse the map. You play MHW and Dark souls at a slow pace? Like yeah you can sword and board and just sit there and eat hits till you get an opening, but slow game play isn't forced.

also, fast gameplay isn't forced here either, again unless you want to be efficient, but you can easily take your time with the content.

Personally I've never touched conclave and currently don't intend to, nor do I have a problem with it. Most other pvp types that could be added to Warframe would  require nerfs so bad it wouldn't feel like Warframe anymore, I can go play another game if I'm desperate for toxic as all help allies who think they're the center of the universe. At least with current Warframe I can ignore them and I'm not really missing out on anything from conclave by not playing it, but there is no guarantee anyways that a pvp mode will bring/keep people. Battlefield 1 was practically dead before the last expansion dropped, and I couldn't find a server with players a month after that.

You can't just "tweak" pvp mode and keep a player base. Fornite keeps theirs by adding in new things every single week on top of fixing their bugs, which to be honest, Warframe still has plenty of bugs that actually need fixed that people care about before they should think about creating a new community.

lets face it, no game successfully pulls pvp and pve focus, one out shines the other or they both suffer.

Why? When you can be spreading space herpes to your haters.

Yeah i dont get why it takes months for them to give us something as simple as this. or a deluxe skin takes months when it should only take MAYBE a few weeks. I get they are really detailed and all but seriously? It shouldn't take months to give us simple content.

I take it you're an expert programmer/3D designer if you're making obnoxious statements like this.

Even so, they release content as a package, not just bits and pieces so you're updating your game every day you log in.

Also take into consideration that they give themselves time to properly beta test content, in case they feel it doesn't fit well and need to go a different route.

"Simple content" it may be, but they need to make sure they feel okay with releasing content, bad enough the community bashes them no matter what they do, but they should feel comfortable before dropping something.

Dev streams are something they give you to keep you in the loop, so they can tell you what they're working on rather than just doing interviews with people.

Also elite alerts are probably going to be paired with the fortuna update and may have rewards specific to it, rather than being dropped and having their loot tables "diluted" as the community refers to it, because they got used to it before an update.

Actually may be something of a ban quota, their teams would be divided to handling certain sections, and quotas ensure people are doing their jobs, or looking like they do, but it wouldn't be hard to meet such a quota if it did exist. Internet toxicity isn't lacking in the slightest

  14. According to your account it says you joined Warframe August 20th, no year shown, so I assume that means this year.

Your community profile wouldn't be reset, so if it's true you started playing at least a bout a year ago, then you've got 2 accounts, which means 2 emails.

    Check again dude.

Edit: I made an account about 3 years ago on PC, played 10 hours and never touched it till this year, still have what little I left off with. I did start playing on Xbox with a friend of mine.

I've never heard of progression loss, 7 of my friends that I didn't know back when I made my account did the same thing I did, they still had all their progression when I convinced them to come back.

Saw someone selling that the other day in trade chat...didn't get suspended.  I have no idea what you're on about.

Right? I've linked transient fortitude in chat numerous times a day over the past week and haven't been banned once. So either they're spamming it to try to sell outside of trade chat, or they're abusing it out of context.

Honestly I wish the bot would ban people who try to turn recruiting chat into region and have base conversations and ban people for trying to use region/recruiting to sell stuff, dreadfully annoying. That and I keep seeing people counting in chat, typing hundreds of messages just counting up or down in chat.

Maybe I'm oblivious, but as far as content droughts, I can agree there isn't a mass amount of content introduced with each update, however, plains added a lot to work for. Sure it's tedious grinding, but that's every game. Warframes is just a bit more intense, which they already stated they're addressing that in the fortuna update.

There are glitches and bugs I'd love to have fixed, on console I'm constantly having an issue when switching to operator mode where it acts as though the ability button is still selected so I start casting abilities when I'm trying to jump/slide/melee/reload, as well as volt was the only frame I hadn't ran in eidolon hunting until recently and I'm finding that I'm constantly picking up shields when I'm nowhere near one and trying to reload. Finally, there's been a menu glitch ever since they brought the menu cursor into the console version where I will get stuck in the game thinking I'm in the menu when I'm not, or not allowing me to move or perform actions.

Dealing with multiple versions of the game will cause these issues to be around longer than we want them to, they'll get to them with time though, and slamming the company in posts, repeating what everyone else is saying in support tickets, Reddit posts, and who knows what other forums, isn't going to make it happen faster. So maybe get a degree in programming and get hired on and do something about it in your free time where you're not getting paid rather than acting like the company is ignoring or unaware of the situation and is obligated to ditch their personal lives to make sure everything is fixed by tomorrow.

Edit: I'd also love to have at least a 7 days a week support if not a 24/7 support, like most games have, but you can't always get what you want, so I bite my tongue and wait a week for a reply, and move on with my life and enjoy what the game has to offer, knowing that one day these glitches will be fixed and more will come, because that's how programming works.

So they can either cause more content droughts and focus on nothing except bugs, focus on content and let you get all the bugs that normally wouldn't slip through the cracks, or they can maintain the pace they're at to deliver you the game that you've so heavily invested your time in and "love."

  16. Can we please stop making these posts for viable frames? First it was an inaros as a tank post and now this. Idk how she is on the damage side these days, and I, personally, haven't played her since she was able to pull ammo/orbs to the team, but my buddy plays her all the time as a support to shred armor.

There are more frames on this list that are picked less than mag/prime that you could've chosen. Excal is picked more often than anything because he's the first choice, and his kit is warrior based. I will admit I didn't enjoy my mag pick on PC as much as when I picked excal as the starter on Xbox, but I picked her up later on when I knew what I was doing and enjoyed her fairly well, just fell out for other frames.

This data also only shows pick rate per MR, it doesn't show what activities these people are doing or how efficiently they're even playing them. With 2 dlcs on the horizon, I'd rather them forcus on that before considering reworking anyone.

Not every frame is going to be efficient as a solo frame and you may need a group or composition, but 20 new frames more and some older frames will sit there before being reworked when they actually need it.

Not every frame is going to be efficient as a solo frame and you may need a group or composition, but 20 new frames more and some older frames will sit there before being reworked when they actually need it.

  18. Warframes can be played in numerous ways, it's all about how you spec out. Your depiction is using a made up terminology, which basically states Nidus is the only viable tank in the game, which is a false statement. Yet for some reason you're single targeting Inaros and ignoring other frames who lack aggro control abilities like Rhino and Frost, even though they posses CC and other forms of abilities that make them viable tanks.

So you answered what is a tank and yet you've concluded that Inaros is only able to heal himself and have more armour. Besides your so called Face up tank of Inaros will get easily swatted away as we all know that your shields, health and armour aren't accounted for in this game when you're facing really high lv enemies so without having abilities that can pull aggro or that can reduce incoming damage the fact that you can say Inaros is a face up tank is just redundant

Inaros has the armor and health for survivability, 3 forms of healing for stustainability, and if we're being honest, you can turn mobs into sand allies, which while the wiki doesn't state they have high aggro, the wiki isn't always correct and can be lacking information, but I'm sure they pull aggro the same way that Nekros' shadows pull aggro, may need tested or information needs to be farmed from it. Abilities don't always state that they take aggro, as well as again, CC works in it's place. Inaros has CC which while it may not pull aggro, it disables the enemies from attacking, so it's just as efficient. So survivability, sustainability, and CC, yes. He's as efficient. Whether people play him efficiently or not is a whole other topic of discussion. Nidus may be easier to play as a face up tank, but I still see numerous Nidus players linking themselves to the wrong enemy that either weakens or deals damage over time to your squishy DPS, so I wouldn't call that efficient. So if we're talking efficiency/learning curve, Nidus is better than Inaros, but I wouldn't cross Inaros off the list for that. While simultaneously, bad players are bad players, you can't get around that.

Umm, I've played all sorts of games but until right now I have never heard of a "face up tank". On the other hand I have definitely heard and used "face tanks.

For those who haven't heard of a face tank, it is a character type that can get right up in a bosses face and keep its attention. Meanwhile the DPS spec'd characters can do the actual killing.

A face tank must be able to hold agro while taking all the damage the npc puts out. In higer level encounters tanks of course are supported by the healers.

Often the term is also used to describe a solo player that just charges right into every encounter like Leeroy Jenkins.

Any game I've ever played, this is merely referred to a Tank, or in raids a Main Tank (MT) where as an Off-tank (OT) can be of various forms between being able to switch between ATK and DEF on the fly to suit the raid where needed, but other yeah I get what you're saying here.

Someone that can draw aggro to them via a move and can then take the damage. Like Nyx's absorb ability

Nyxs absorb doesn't draw aggro to her, she merely covers an area, it's more of a support ability. I guess limbo is a face up tank as well. So is ivara since she can divert aggro away from players. Hey everyone! LOKI is a tank!

    Actually... (from the wiki)

    Threat Level

Threat Level or popularly known as Aggro defines how dangerous a non-player character perceives a target to be and thus the importance of attacking that target. NPCs will prioritize attacking the target with the highest threat level that is within range.

    AbilitiesEdit

The following abilities will temporarily increase threat level:

    • Loki's Decoy - creates a decoy with high threat level
    • Nekros' Shadows of the Dead - creates shadow versions of recently fallen enemies which have high threat levels
    • Nidus's Ravenous - creates Maggots with high threat levels
    • Nyx's Absorb - increases the caster's threat level
    • Nyx's Chaos - increases the threat level of affected enemies, thus making them attack each other as well as members of other factions
    • Octavia's Mallet - creates a Mallet with high threat level
    • Saryn's Molt - creates a decoy with high threat level
    • Titania's Razorwing - creates Razorflies with high threat levels
    • Mirage's Hall of Mirrors - Creates clones of Mirage with high threat levels

So according to this guy, nyx's bubble does take aggro, I've never noticed it cause my buddy always got lit up standing just out of the absorption area.

The main point being though, tanks come in various forms. Warframe works differently than most games do when it comes to a LOT of things. Most games don't allow heavy aoe CC to mean anything in raids, warframe doesn't restrict what your abilities do based on your activity or who they're allowed to effect (aside from null bubbles, etc. but that's a different discussion on it's own.) So in that sense, the "face up tank" as you want to refer to it, is limited based on this list of abilities that take threat, reduce damage, and have a decent health pool. Nidus is flying solo in the "face up tank" role, congrats.

Warframe doesn't need a tank at all in a group though, for the longest time my friends and I composed our groups of Slova, Trin, and straight aoe damage, so it's about group comping and not fancy little labels that make someone feel superior for playing Nidus in a Hydron power level mission while they link themselves to a Nox so your team can just get poisoned constantly and die.

There's a common misconception going around that Inaros is a face up tank I think that's because of his huge health pool and scarab armour but it isn't true Inaros can't be classed as a face up tank as believe it or not in survivals, where his niche is, he will get killed very quickly at certain levels. Inaros is more of a CC frame as he has no damage reduction abilities and no armour dosent count because at a certain point it just becomes redundant. Nidus however is a face up tank due to his dage reduction abililty he can take and soak up damage. Having a huge health pool and an ability that gives you armour dosent make you a face up tank so let's clear the air on that one

What makes a tank? Health, armor, cc, damage reduction, aggro control, survivability.

Tanks come in various forms, damage reduction abilities are only one form of tankage. The goal of a tank is to take damage, stay alive and in most games pull aggro. So having the scarab armor which IS damage reduction, its just a different calculation of the stat, as well as the ability to heal himself, does put him in the tank class.

So quit being salty because you get a massive hard on over nidus, inaros is a tank, even if there are better ones. Deal with it.
