  1. I mean no. COmpared to when trading was first implemented maybe, since most prices have been steadily going down but over the course of 4 days they have stayed about the same.

Remember there is always so variability in price and you can't watch over every trade in every region like they can. If you're just going to say that DE is lying to cover themselves then you are obviously not a veteran.

What I like most about DE is that they admit when they messed up and pay players back (U10 clan tech, the detron, invasion speeds).

It's very obvious the prices have fallen wayyy too much than they should have. There's nothing you can argue against that. It's a fact now since I can go derp around and buy a bunch of rare 10 this and that for 300p each when I clearly remember they were at least 600p.

  2. Yeah, it's a classic case of damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Let's say they nerfed it, with no 'compensation' then what? Bunch of people with rank 10 complaining (sure, a lot with rank 10 are complaining DESPITE compensation)

Sure, they could have scaled the reward with the rank, but that'd require some serious effort, thought, and time, wouldn't it be easier just to make everyone happy? I mean, the compensation is huge. Much joy, many cores, so wow.

But yeah, it's just bit them in the backside, and now they've learnt...all stick, no carrot. Then another wave of complaints will come in.

I honestly feel sorry for them.

Ehh wouldn't have been too hard at all... just follow the mod equations with energy needed= rank^2 and double compensation would be fine but not 48x.

  3. DE has stated that they have had basically no impact on the game economy and are fine with what happened. They said you can't please everyone and that's obviously true.

Also if its not affecting market prices (I trust DE who's job it is took watch these kind of things over you) then it doesn't affect you. I got my 2 and am perfectly happy with the solution

    Source community hottopics feb 21st

They know nothing. Rares have split over 2 times in price within hours of its release.

  4. Okay I'm not quite that annoyed by these stupid cores but extra attention is good :3

Here's my how I interpret things:

Some bright spark didn't think about a 14 drain steel charge being op.
Some even brighter spark decides to overcompensate some players up to 48 times.
The brightest spark decides to leak this information so the cores can be farmed(Yeah... some people even got 80 cores, pretty much giving them the right to play monopoly)

What has this done to Warframe?

To put it short, it has screwed over the purpose of Warframe in its entirety because the devs don't even balance - This is really becoming a serious issue and I won't go over every major balancing flaw but also when it comes to weapon sided balancing...

Take the Akmagnus for example. Upon release it had 8.7 rps, 100 damage, some pretty good crit stats. Talk about OP... Then they decide to nerf it down to under 400 base dps with practically no crit stats? And then a buff to give it one of the best crit stats and status chances for secondaries? How do things like this even happen?!?! And I see people crying about this and that being overpowered but it's understandable to grasp veterans' attention, they've got to introduce more and more overpowered gear. That's totally understandable but then, the older weapons are just absolutely trash. Take the Soma for example, and compare it to a weapon of a similar class, the Supra. See what I mean?

And this "Legendary core" issue is the most detrimental to Warframe itself...
It has ruined the idea of grinding though make no mistake, I don't exactly appreciate this factor much either but flipping the game around isn't exactly the wisest decision, especially since there are more viable options such as toning down the mod fusion equation down to Energy needed = rank^1.75 instead of rank^2 for example
And not to mention completely and utterly broke our market prices, considering how Warframe isn't the best at luring in new players as there barely is a tutorial which even DE has openly admitted
This has also &!$$ed off many veterans

    What should be done?
DE should have just manually reversed the steel charge fusions and nerfed it to 5 ranks but instead of having that relatively minute imbalance with steel charge at 10 ranks, you've decided to hand the cores out so numerously to the extent it seems to be 1:1 to the community members? I simply could not care less how much menial labor it would taken but I believe it is about time they took the whole balancing issue seriously and have full responsibility for the imbalance in the game. This could also and most importantly, serve as a learning curve to the whole company.

I will be checking this often and hopefully reasonable action will be taken in regards to the general balancing of this game. Though I highly doubt they could be bothered reversing the countless transactions people have made using those cores, the general balancing shouldn't take much effort. I've been passive about your mindless balancing up until this point but this change you've implemented may just about flip Warframe upside down. Though despite being so overly critical about such matters, I sincerely support the game and its whole concept. It's great! Just needs to be properly reworked.

  5. Does this mean all frames will have flight capabilities soon?

If not, this mod will benefit exactly one frame: the upcoming bird frame. So where's the balance in that? I don't see any 'increase Desecrate range', 'reduce damage while using Sonar', etc mods that are only applicable to certain frames. So why should this be special?

I can't find any justification for creating a mod that will augment just one frame and its unique ability and still say that 'class balance' is being actively pursued in this game. (Not that there's any real balance to begin with, but this is such a conspicuous slap in the face - it's like they're net even trying to look like they're putting effort in balance anymore)

Ever heard of jumping? and a 20% damage reduction is pretty pathetic when a rhino can Ironskin. Also on the balancing issue... Warframe is an RPG game meaning that some items SHOULD be able to outright overpower others and bringing up this new mod doesn't exactly reflect where DE's balancing issues lie. A better example would probably be how supra's such a piece of S#&$ compared to soma- costs many times the material and waiting time for non P2W players, less dps, less versatile, less reliable, isn't hitscan, isn't as accurate. Instead of nerfs they really should just buff things that are lacking and buff enemies if they feel the need to, create near mastery rank cap items.

  6. For starters... why the F*** not? :P

Anyway, all the other weapon types have multishots so it'd only make sense if they introduced multislash mods too right?
Melee weapons generally are trash at the moment and yet there are so many of them, as Warframe, being a space ninja themed game suggests so. It would help balance the game out more and also make it more well suited and maybe even live up to its theme rather than being gun based as Warframe currently is- most of the melee weapons in the game are pretty much unusable hence why gun play has been dominating. Also, I think DE can get quite creative with this one. I personally think that they could add in special effects for example, having temporary doppelgangers materialise around you and taking, standing on the exact same position but with a different pose to strike the enemy each time you have a multislash occurring.

Let me know what you think of this one and comment away! :D

  7. Again, lanka has better damage per shot (and I was mentioning synapse as it's electric too, electric weapons got an indirect buff because of damage 2.0)

Not really... and lanka uses sniper ammo and is non AI. Just take the numbers I've provided earlier, given they're max AI damage prior to update 11 and work off there.

  8. DPS means nothing. later on it's all about how much per shot. If you use up all your ammo on one enemy with the soma, what good it is?

Then don't even mention weapons with horrible ammo efficiency like the synapse... oh and ammo refills :P.

  9. Soma requires too much ammo, it could take over a clip to kill one enemy easily. Lanka might take a clip too, but has 7 more remaining.

Also, Lanka (and synapse, really any electric weapon) being electric is a huge buff, because of the fact it can become corrosive/magnetic, which gives it a +75% damage bonus vs armor/shields.

No it wouldn't considering that it's got tiny base dps. Anyway please keep on topic...

  10. I'm gonna agree with you here, lanka with be the better choice for that high of a level, the ~50k damage (or whatever it deals) is normally wasted on everything (because they only need a few thousand damage), but shines vs the super high levels, as long as you keep it stocked up with ammo.

But yes, Soma might have the better DPS, but requires more ammo per kill

I'd agree with you here too but I disagree with Shibboleet claiming that soma is junk vs. high levels. Now soma is far superior as NOTHING is AI anymore. GG.

  11. Oh, have you also been killing level 600s in todays system? Have you also faced level 2000's pre U11?

Math also states that the Soma won't stand to these levels due to basic scaling and damage per bullet. Please at least provide solid math before you claim math against me please. Also, I appreciate everyones opinions as it allows a debate to start (as seen above); It allows me to better understand my opponent and maybe even learn something in the process...even if our two opinions clash.

I was also one of those people who claimed that the soma was good before I started doing 'end game' content, but then I saw myself having to use ammo mutation, and then I saw myself unloading all of the ammo I had into one tech and giving up on it. Then I see my lanka buddy 3 shot one....I'm disappointed with the weapon.

Ohhh do I need to provide solid math? Isn't it obvious? Any fool out there who has played Warframe for a week can tell you AP works as an AI elemental based off a weapon's dps before update 11 and these debates are worthless because they are NOT relevant. Soma would stand above lanka in pure AI dps if you mod it properly and you should have stockpiled your ammo restores since you were obviously around before they removed them.

Absolute MAX AI damage before update 11 for soma is 366.4245 damage a shot whereas for the lanka(split chambers included)it is 8458.8. Absolute MAX AI dps for the weapons are 8794.188 and 10714.48- not that much of a difference.

We shall discuss this no further.

  12. 1. The soma was a below par weapon before the patch, and its slightly worse after due to health scaling. I was and still am tired of people seeing yellow numbers and thinking it's good for killing 40s (pre patch 40s) really quick and saying it's good. (I went up to level 2000 mobs last patch and it became useless after level 1000; The lanka and vectis still 3-4 shot things.)

    2. Stalker can be destroyed easily w/o Rage/QT, don't know who you know, but they probably are not very progressed in the game.

    3. Not sure how to beat a grinding game, but I'll assume you mean finishing a mission, which is still as easy as it was last patch.

    4. Rhino isn't invincible. He used to be if I remember right then added an absorb  number on his iron skin. It is 'invincibility' until lvl 20-30.

    5. Trinity's blessing is probably too good for an ultimate with long duration mods. I still prefer the short duration energy vampire spec, but to each his own. With survival scaling nerf there isn't really a reason to even use the long duration blessing now as I don't see it being competitive anymore.

In summary, if you need to use old QT+Rage to bet a mission, you shouldn't be playing warframe...I'm sorry

Soma is a below par weapon? WOW... please just get off the forums and go education better in the field of maths before you post outrageous remarks. Warframe is primarily a stat based game therefore your irrelevant and worthless opinions are NOT needed here thank you very much. Everyone who is viewing this post, please refrain from causing irrelevant controversy between you and another individual but instead, try to maintain relevance by discussing the quick-thinking mod and/or its nerf.

  13. Well, things don't need to be balanced.

But they at least need to have some sense of proportion. If everyone is running one build/weapon/frame. That is a serious problem.

    On QT+R, it was overpowered.

    And now it is worthless.

It needs to be given some of its former strength back. Some. Not all.

    Would agree.

  14. Nah, that has nothing to do with anything. We didn't pay for it, and we still have it, it's just not very good. What you're saying HEAVILY reminds me of another thread where a guy was complaining his bow was crap, and he wanted a refund or something, and DE owes him, or something, I can't remember, but the point is: We still have mod (and how we got it is really besides the point).

Hmmm well where I come from, merchants are pretty much obligated to refund you if you received the wrong product or if it was significantly different from what it was claimed to be. This is a similar case so I have included it as part of my reasoning.

  15. Hm, true, I'm just tossing numbers out as an example really.

It's kinda DE's fault here, I mean did NONE of them think of rage when they made QT?

Yea and we're meant to get what we "paid" for or something similar... not a completely different piece of junk that for some reason is rare as F***.

  16. Look at the mod on it's own, not "If your allies do this or that...", that only works in premade teams if someone has the proper stuff.

And it's a "one trick pony" either way. Now it "buys you enough time for your allies to help you" (although in reality it just gets you killed/drain a large amount of energy), and if it was properly nerfed (i.e. lowering the % on QT, giving it a cooldown, etc) it'd be a one trick pony too.

And you're assuming that I want it back to where it was, which I don't. As I've stated MANY times, if you'd have bothered to read, I dunno, ANY of my other many posts on this subject. Hell, nerfing it to 200% means you lose 90HP on the first "death", and at 160% you lose 108. (assuming you're at 300HP and energy)

Lol 200% is too severe of a nerf. Statistically, the "inefficiency" is quintupled. To make the combo half as effective, make quick thinking capped at 225% efficiency.

  17. I really think DE should just bring back the old mechanics but add a cooldown. That should prevent the whine-base from screaming immortal hax!

26 mod points for a 2nd chance of surviving every minute to scramble to safety or pop that ult.

That sounds way more exciting and fun to me than a crappy additional 10 seconds of being knocked down.

Again that's 26 mod points worth. That's mod space you're not using on more damage, higher range, or direct survivability.

I mean, nobody's screaming nerf Redirection when it brings way more damage mitigation in the long run.

Good idea, or they could lower the % efficiency.
