  1. MK1 Strun Stats being noticeable better than it's non-MK1 counterpart? Please confirm with a brief description that is exactly what you are trying to depict.

Yes that's what his screenshot is trying to show. It's been an issue for a while, you can confirm it right in the market.

  2. Apparently all you do is hit the start button, and very quickly run back to the finish before you get put in the course. I just scored a 0.01 and made 2nd place (first being 0.00) in just a few attempts. Pretty major oversight, definitely should be fixed and leaderboards reset.

  3. Sieker's post was just as bad.

No issue is black and white. Look at his post. You think U16 did good things? You're now a white knight, by his definition. If you're simply saying irrational people are bad, you didn't even need a post for that. Anyone with brains in their head can filter out or shoot down the obviously irrational posters. Instead, he made it into an even divide: anyone who supports DE when someone else doesn't is a white knight.

Where in his post did he ever say that?

    He didn't.

Example? People raging because of unneeded nerfs U16 brought, there was a bunch of "good, rep farming will be over", "shut up crybabies" responses. Not bringing up valid points, full of butthurt instead.

HE USED ONE THING IN U16, AS AN EXAMPLE OF A TYPICAL RESPONSE TO CRITICISM FROM THE ONE PARTICULAR VARIETY OF PEOPLE HE WAS TRYING TO DESCRIBE

    You get from that

...You think U16 did good things? You're now a white knight, by his definition. ...anyone who supports DE when someone else doesn't is a white knight.

Once again, predisposition bias. You saw the phrase, you falsely associate it with an attack. In reference to a post you previously made, no I don't spend a ton of time on this forum, which was how I was able to read Siekier's post objectively, and take from it it's intended, and rather obvious, meaning.

  4. Here's what OP said:

"and if you ask any of them why they still play this game (white knights aside)"

Either you agree with OP, or you are a white knight. He left no room for discussion. Do you not see the problem with that?

Let me repeat myself. Once again.

"Yes, OP said some questionable things. Clearly he was upset by his bad luck in the game. Reasonable people would read behind that veil of frustrated vitriol and see his actual criticisms."

If you actually read the entirety of my post before replying, you'd have seen that.

Also, once again, I AM NOT DEFENDING OP'S USE OF THE TERM, I am defending Siekier's post, which was discredited, and misinterpreted simply for having that term in it.

  5. That post made out like there were unequivocal bad and good changes, and completely glossed over the fact that people have lots of different opinions about things. And because of that attitude, here's how white knight ends up getting used in practice:

"DE really messed this one up."

"Actually, I think they did a good job."

    "White knight! Get out!"

That's how it's used here. Instead of discussing why the people might disagree, the conversation just devolves into name calling. And let's not forget the people who blindly attack, which is much more prevalent than blind defense.

He was not making it out to sound that way.

"stfu, everything is fine, best update ever thank you DE"

""shut up crybabies" responses. Not bringing up valid points, full of butthurt instead."

We've all seen these people that these quotes specifically reference. If you are reading it as him attacking anyone who disagrees with criticism, then that's your own predisposition bias, as evidenced by your post after his

People who call people white knights are the biggest problem Warframe has.

Nice strawman, which by the way, has been every single post you've made on this thread, since the very first. Ignoring the overall point of the post, to take one trivial irrelevancy out of it and criticize it. While we're on that subject, let's break that down, because I'm getting tired of it.

There seems to be a misconception around here that hate automatically equals valid criticism.

And then we go around and call everyone a white knight. Good job.

Yes, OP said some questionable things. Clearly he was upset by his bad luck in the game. Reasonable people would read behind that veil of frustrated vitriol and see his actual criticisms. You ignore them entirely to make that post, completely irrelevant to whether or not you agree or disagree.

The Planetside 2 comparison is accurate but doesn't really apply here. They've yet to make any decisions on that magnitude of stupid, despite community whining about nerfs and what not.

You either didn't read my entire post, or ignored everything but the first paragraph. Instead of adding to the discussion you criticize the relevancy of my example.

Then you go and post the aforementioned reply to Siekier

    Then this

There was no valid message to that post.

And this is addressed at the other guy too: attitudes like that are toxic. They're not helpful anywhere, and certainly not in a feedback forum. They feed into the delusion that hate is automatically a valid response, and are used to shut down anyone who disagrees with the one doing the name calling. If you honestly think that people only start calling each other white knights when someone is actually blindly defending, you clearly don't spend much time around here.

    Take that stuff elsewhere.

Same exact story. Rather than realizing the post is about people blindly defending DE's decisions, you cling to the fact that he used the phrase that must not be said, and are in an entirely different discussion altogether.

Now can we please stop derailing this thread?

  6. There was no valid message to that post.

If you're under the assumption that I'm defending OP's rampant use of the term in this thread, I'm not. The guy I quoted was giving explicit examples of the people he was referring to as "white knights" I don't care what he called them.

His message was about how there are people who blindly defend DE, and attack and attempt to discredit all criticism, often with nothing but ad hominems. These people exist, and they are a problem. I would suggest trying to read and understand his post before discrediting it entirely because of the use of one phrase.

Whether or not I agree with people calling these overzealous members derogatory names, is not in question. (I don't)

  7. Valid? You call that user's post basically blaming everyone who supported DE's actions for whatever reason as being valid.

He's talking about the people who blindly support every decision they make. There's plenty I support, and plenty that I don't. Let me take some excerpts from his post to clarify.

"stfu, everything is fine, best update ever thank you DE". No matter how terrible it was, they're always defending DE.

Example? People raging because of unneeded nerfs U16 brought, there was a bunch of "good, rep farming will be over", "shut up crybabies" responses. Not bringing up valid points, full of butthurt instead.

Some people would get hyped even if someone at DE posted a picture of dump they took earlier that day.

Supporting a decision or disagreeing with criticism doesn't make you a fanboy, or "white knight". Blindly defending DE for everything and shutting down ALL criticism and complaints (often with comments like the example "shut up crybabies") are the people he's referring to. It is a problem, and his post about it is valid.

  8. You made it a grind with your mentality. "Must have everything now, or i am not a cool kid anymore". You created your own grind, RNG is there just for trolling purposes.

There is always an option of buying PA, or investing some Platinum in new prime parts.

Thanks for putting words into our mouths... or rather, heads. I don't play this game to be the "cool kid" What do you expect me to do? Run 50+ T1 captures for "fun" that offer no challenge or variety of any sort? The fun in this game, at least for me, and I'd wager many others, is in collecting and appealing to completionism mentality. RNG isn't there for "trolling purposes" It's there to enforce grind wall. It's there to mitigate progress towards completion, to get people to use the "other options" that you have listed. Thank you for proving my point.

People who call people white knights are the biggest problem Warframe has.

Ignoring the valid message of his entire post, just to say that. What a perfect example.

  9. Part of this also boils down to developer involvement, however. A good example of this was Tribes: Ascend -- did fairly well, managed to keep it together with a F2P model. As soon as the developer abandoned ship so they could begin to work on Smite, it quickly began to die out.

Given how heavily involved DE is in Warframe's development (developers posting on the forums/twitter daily, devstreams every two weeks to showcase what's coming up and to allow players to ask questions), I feel Warframe will still last quite a while, regardless of anyone's opinion on the F2P model they use.

Developer involvement isn't always a good thing. Planetside 2 didn't start to decline because it was abandoned, and it's payment model wasn't actually bad. The devs actively ruined it with bad decision after bad decision. They had livestreams on Fridays. They had a big community roadmap where people voted on features that they wanted. Why did it get ruined? They didn't think anything through. Everything I enjoyed about that game was utterly absent after 5 months of release, and that quickly, they were shutting down and merging servers. SOE no longer exists, and the game's IP is owned by some investment company.

Ever since U14, Warframe has been looking frighteningly similar. One of the most notable examples was Vivergate, and now this dumb Excalibur nerf that was rolled out with 16. What the hell were they thinking there? Back when they nerfed those 3 frames I was in disbelief that anyone in that entire studio didn't come out and say "Hey, isn't this kind of incredibly idiotic?" These bad decisions are going hand-in-hand with their payment model, i.e. Prime Access.

TL:DR It's what they're doing with their involvement that's making the game's quality suffer, not a lack of involvement.

  10. (what the game i play'd had done was you earn a 'token' each time to ran a thing and with enough tokens you could 'buy' one of the things you were farming for so that way if you never got it to drop by chance you had an end goal for your farm)

You know what's funny, is that is exactly the idea behind the void trader. People were wanting these ducat things to be a form of grind mitigation. Trade in your crap for what you actually want. Instead, they turned it into a grind that damn near burnt me completely out of this game, just like (I think sheldon) was saying in the last dev stream. I'm glad they're at least addressing that.

Also, thank you for the well thought out and objective post.

  11. History would heavily disagree with you, given how many games use a F2P model and are still around after several years.

I never said free2play = unsustainable. I said the flaws in WARFRAME'S free to play model make IT unsustainable. Plenty of F2P games have survived, yes. Plenty more haven't. Many more, like Planetside 2, are rapidly sinking. It all boils down to this little thing called player retention. Pissing off or boring a large chunk of your player base, is not good for player retention. Not everyone has the tollerance for this BS that you might.

  12. Hey, I never said WF was perfect. What I meant was that complaints should be respectful besides being direct. Who would you pay attention to;

    - The guy who presents his points logically and suggests solutions to the predominant problems to the DE staff directly?

    - Or the guy who yells his argument and insults everyone who disagrees with him?

I don't agree with the insults, personally. However, DE has shown in the past that they don't listen unless people scream in unison. Sometimes some passion is needed to get the point across. (Vivergate is a perfect example)

  13. There really is no point trying to reason with these people mate. Evidenced clearly in this topic and in others before it, they quote one line or sentence that could have been worded better, and criticize it while completely disregarding the entirety of the post and ignoring the entire message, as if their misguided and frankly ignorant attempt to discredit someone somehow invalidates the very honest and real nature of the situation.

Thank you. Finally a rational human being. These people need to google what a "strawman fallacy" is.

  14. Maybe what they define as a grind is different then what you consider a grind?  Has that thought even crossed your mind?

And why are we shaming a company for wanting to make money?

I'm not a fan of conspiracy threads.  Which is exactly this thread.

If WF isn't fun for you anymore then take a break.  I'm not saying WF is perfect.

But if you feel the need to make a conspiracy thread and openly insult people who enjoy the game (I.E the white knights) then you obviously need a reality check and need to step back and take a break for awhile.

No one is shaming DE for wanting to make money. They're being criticized for the way they're doing it. They make content such a pain in the &#!, and so repetitive and frustrating, that they encourage buying this content and skipping all of the gameplay to get those items alltogether. What's the point then?

The better way to make money, would be to make things worth buying. Why are actually good cosmetics so few and far between? People would buy the crap out of them if there was more than just a handful of syandanas / armor sets and basic skins for weapons that no one uses. Look at the proto skin for excal. Why in hell is there not more of that? It's not like it takes a ton more work, it's just an alternate model.

"Maybe what they define as a grind is different then what you consider a grind?"

Please tell me how running the same identical mission 54 times, and making absolutely zero progress on your goal can be considered anything other than grind.

Okay, something tells me that you'll call me a white knight if I disagree with your point of view. Let's look at it objectively.

Digital Extremes created quite a few games, so calling them "amateurs" is downright childish.

WF is free to play, so DE will obviously need another reliable money source.

I play Warframe because I want to. You don't seem to share that sentiment, so why the hek would you use that many keys? Why would you keep farming? Why, in fact, are you playing the game?

The RNGesus has always been a problem, and it always will be. You don't like it? Then go play some other game.

If you really want to post complaints, just do so politely.

There's other ways to make money than to make the game so intollerable that people pay to skip it. That's exactly how they make money. Shortcuts. To encourage players to use those shortcuts, they make the normal path to these items over the top ridiculous. (Mesa, Vauban, Prime Access, etc)

You don't see a problem with that? I know they need money, but this kind of crap is why so many free to play games sink. This is not a sustainable business practice.

  15. I dont get what this is all about? Is it about DE making proper ap? Is it rant about new Primes drop rate? Everything is a mess.

It's a rant about how DE is degrading the quality of the game with grind, to make money. Not that hard to follow.

I like warframe, but the grind is definitely annyoning every 3 months when PA comes out cause everyone wants it, MR18 and I still haven't got the despairs, I have spent 1k+ hrs in the game and some money which would be time and money wasted if i decide to leave. I do think that the amount of rng should be turned down a bit.

MR18, 1200 hours, still no Hate. I feel your pain.

A few tile sets? WF already has more than most AAA titles, Destiny launched with what, 4? I get that you're &!$$ed bro but come on.

Are you implying that Destiny, or AAA games in general, are some kind of example of quality?

  16. Last I checked, they had actual development experience and have published several games. That's not "amateur", and it's far more than what can be said of you.

Let's leave the developing to the actual developers, hm?

They have, on many occasions, outright said they have no actual plans or roadmap for this game. They're just winging it. Bad decision after bad decision, all kinds of evidence of internal conflict and disagreements about how something should be done, makes it's way into the game, and it shouldnt. Experience does not equate competence. I'm not going to outright say that DE is clueless on how to make games, but their plethora of frequent and consistent mistakes, cannot be ignored.

  17. I feel the directive path of this game changed about 1 year ago, the new big features are all content that is externally complex and complicated to acquire or work with, until this day I can not like one bit about kubrows and archwing, and etc whatever was in a big update, since every-time they reinvent the core mechanic of the game with a new grinding system that is either complex or very time consuming.

The grind on archwing and kubrows is the reason I can't enjoy either. Kill 598760934857690837 kubrow dens to get an egg, or pay 10 plat. Then pay a crapton to incubate it, and wait forever before you get to use it (or pay plat). Then dump 100k credits a week on the thing to keep it alive.

I don't even need to say anything about the archwing weapon grind.

  18. Yes, they are a business. That doesn't mean they have to crap on the quality of their own game in order to make money from it. They have a solid, addictive formula that keeps us coming back, but they make that experience bitter with this insipid, unrelenting, insultingly unrewarding grind. Just like OP said, the only reason I even kept playing past U14 was becase I have 1200+ hours in and quite a bit of money invested. I can't just walk away from it. As harsh as OP's words were, they're, for the most part, completely true.
