  1. I really like Affinity boosters, but a warning would've been nice. Everytime those come (2nd time I know of) I had nothing left to boost and no time to built a new frame... just say "REWARD: AFFINITY BOOSTER"... how hard is that? :oP

  2. I really, really like the Grinlok and am totally torn, really. I just got the Latron Prime (finally) and it is incredibly sweet, but I do feel there's tremendous power in the Grin, alone with the damage 2.0 values (Grinlok = impact+slash vs Latron = puncture). Since most of us rank fresh weapons on Mercury, we fight Grineers, so puncture feels a lot better, of course, but once you get to higher levels, hmmm....

I really am on the fence on this one, that's for sure. I'd try them both and rank'em all the way up. The big "potato" question is the worst pain, if you can't fling around with plat. I only have one catalyst right now and really don't know where to put it between the two.

But, honestly, Latron is a heck of a lot sexier, if that's a way to put it. It feels smooth, fast, triggers right away (Grinlok has a hesitation before the first shot, which can be horrible), good damage and- well- it looks quite nice, too. Grinlok is a brute, all but sexy, harsh, clunky, but still precise, powerful and you can quickly mod it to decent speed after the first shot. Magazine size sucks, though. I'm sure potato would help, but what it might do for the Latron....arrrrggghhhh... I can't decide!

Have to admit, though, I'm having the most fun with the Bows right now (except Cernos)...Dread and Paris Prime...feels like you gotta have both, hehe, but that's a different story.

  3. The minimap symbols make it nearly useless, because all symbols are of the same size, hiding each other and- worst of all- the target symbol to where you have to go!

All living creatures should be small dots again to make them easier to locate. Each category should be like a layer with certain transparency, so that you can always see enemies, allies, even if they overlap. All fixed items could have a different symbol or shape to differentiate between camera/turrets and mobile enemies. All Targets could be at the size of the new symbols, making them always easy to read in the map.

The Hud should NOT MOVE AROUND, for crying out loud, that's just bizarre. Why should that be? It's heavily distracting and unpleasant- again- for no reason what so ever. If you want to make the gameplay more exciting, don't seek excitement in annoyance, really. That's not helping the fun factor!

Other than that, I am getting used to the general design and there appears to be more info visible now... if only it would hold still!

  4. A nice idea to go 3D with them, but...it makes no sense in no way what so ever, honestly. Frankly, I find the new HUD hard to read for no good reason. Even if some of it certainly will be a matter of getting used to, but it's me getting used to squint or guess which markers on the map are overlapping and hiding where I should go to. I now have to look across the whole screen to get my info, which is normal, but it never felt so exhausting.

Them being 3D also adds to the general confusion, making it harder to find orientation, again, for no reason. In any advanced HUD, does anyone believe that they'd rotate information away from your eyes just to look fancy? It's cute design, but very ugly during game play in its effect!

Anyway, I'll give it a few days. I'm just not thrilled for the moment.

Also, I didn't have any margin issues thus far, or simply haven't noticed it, yet. :oP

  5. Absolutely true, but part of being on the Beta is to mention issues one comes across and...well...it's just another little issue still worth mentioning, I find. Especially since it appears to be something that has been worked on recently somehow.

  6. At the end of a successful mission you see your weapon and warframe experience ramping up from where it was to where it stands (or should stand).

I've always noticed that the "rank" number often ended up one less than it should be, when you see the bar wrap around several times.

It used to be that you'd know, even though it said, for example, "rank 6", it was actually rank 7. Now, however, the bar still overshoots like before, but you end up with rank 6, regardless.

I find this version of the same bug a bit depressing. Is it really so complicated to fix the bar display?

I sure hope that experience points are solid and only the display stuff is a bit messed up. Otherwise that would really be, uhm... a little ugly.

  7. Arsenal -> mod application

It can happen, that a mod won't get accepted, if you want to apply it to a formaed slot, because it's original value exceeds capacity.

    Example:

    1 capacity is left

mod of value 2 and proper polarity for forma'ed slot of same polarity cannot be applied.

I've noticed that many times already, but just thought I'd finally write a post. I'm sure I'm not the first.

The other thing that drives me nuts is the A,B,C configurations not accepting mods or fuse them up, which would exceed another configuration?! That makes little sense. No wait- that makes no sense.

    example:

configuration A is full (0 capacity)

configuration B has 4 capacity left. Applied mod that is not in configuration A. Fusing it from 3 to 4 doesn't work because it would exceed capacity of configuration A. ???

That's just a little bit, uhm...sloppy? Would be nice, if that could be fixed, too.

  8. Not the newest discussion, but worthy of a bump:    "PLEASE, BUFF SUPRA"

I love SOMA, but expected a lot more from Supra, simply for pretending to be something so special (clan dojo, rank requirement, building costs and so on). Fact is, Supra feels great, really, like it should shred the heck out of anything in its way, especially large groups. But it doesn't. I've upgraded it, hooked up all the mods it would take to let the SOMA mow down an army... but one step away from Mercury and you loose faith in the power of laser-light, hehe. Such a pity.

DE: Please, figure out a balanced but determined way to buff the Supra. Please don't take any more away from the Soma, though. It felt like it has been nerfed quite a bit already.

Again, it is such fun in terms of sound, look and wickedness, but Supra's damage doesn't do justice to its superficial traits of joy.

  9. Honestly, I think that's the least of their troubles right now. I'd say it's all good, just have a look at how to make the Acrid again a decent weapon, because the new system simply destroyed the joy on it.

I kind of understand that stacking can be looked at as logical, especially from a programming point of view, but since module slots "feel" like actual slots where you hook into specific cartridges, so to say, it would equally- or even more so- make sense, if the linking of slots would be independent from the combined load.

But forcing the order of slots is also annoying, if you had formas used. It can totally negate the "A,B,C" configuration concept UNLESS all elemental mods would have the same polarity, of course. I wonder if a certain linking logic could be cool, like connecting slots... maybe a little too complicated for the player at the end, but it could also be kinda exciting. Anyway....

I hear you and understand the disappointment. A few things really feel like ugly changes and I don't think a new player would be happier than we are now, just because he didn't know how much fun it was. It's always been hard and mildly complicated, but it gets a bit overboard with the last round of changes, if you asked me.

  10. wf_wtf101.jpg

Not only did the latest update suck the joy out of wf with survival being impossible even on Mercury and potatoed sentinels with great protection dying from a bunch of henchmen in the first 2 minutes (?!?), to top things off a last second safe to extraction with teleport after ridiculous 11minutes sends me into space for an infinitely looping fall and no way out, even after the sound of the monks from the starmap, I guess, kicks in... only QUIT gave it a rest.

SO...what ever you've done, dear DE, and I write that with great respect and loads of love for what you do, undo at least some of it so that the first planet (Mercury) is fun again.

I could use this opportunity to b1tch about the long and agonizing grind it took to rank up to 7 for building the Acrid, which turned out to be great fun and a good investment right up until the latest changes... but I'm sure you have plenty on your plate to make this fun again with these babysteps backwards...please! ;o)

    Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't write unless I utterly loved what you do! I wonder, if you sometimes get carried away and might forget that this is a game and should be fun first. I know it's impossibly hard to balance it all out, but I can promise you it was fantastic for months until just a few days ago. It's ok, if it gets harder in higher levels, but the first planet should be a chance to have some simple fun and offset the painful process of ranking up weapons. Maybe split the difference? And cut the sentinels some slack... poor guy is now made of paper. 8{

  11. Ok, now this terrifies me and I hope you can revert that!

I first wanted to sell my "Spectra", but realized mods are attached and cancelled that. Then I selected the "Vulkar" wanting to sell it and it said "Selling Spectra Vulkar $12500" whatever. So I was puzzled, cancelled, selected to sell Vulkar again. It said the same thing, so I agreed. Assuming that's what it must be then. Then it sold my Vectris and my Spectra, NOT EVER SELECTED THE VECTRIS, kept the Vulkar. I really, really would like my Vectris back, rank30, beautifully modded and I was just about to potatoe it. THANK GOD I didn't, but it would be really nice, if you could sort this insane bug out and maybe even get me my vectris back. It took a while to rank it up to 30 and I hate having to do that twice with no benefit at all.

    Bad, bad bug. Really scary!

PLUS: I don't know what to do now? Would I better leave this all alone until you get back to me? I was making room to claim new weapons. Boy that's an ugly situation.

  12. Oh man, brilliant timing, I just thought about making a shotgun. Looking forward to it. Equilibrium sounds nice, too. Now I just need a damn reactor. I really hope you'll have a new alert for that soon, too! And catalyst, of course.  ;o)

    THANKS! It's been a blast! 8}

OMG, damn near 7hours? Holy "Crap" indeed, hahaha! Congrats...or...my sympathies! o_O

  13. YES, exactly, those stupid Sentinel mods.... I mean, I loved it earlier, when I got one, but now you get buried in them. Plus; there's no pay-off for killing a tough enemy like Heavy Grineer or what ever the bigger things are. They should either drop cores or at least uncommon mods...but it feels like there's no reward for killing them.

I did like the idea of having factions drop certain kinds of mods. At least there was some orientation. Not sure how much that is still the case or not, but it sure doesn't feel that way.

See, all we do in life is making decisions. A game should nurture this train of thought, allowing for some orientation to make decisions. Chance is always part of it, but it should not confuse the orientation to the degree where you can no longer rely on your choices, or- which is worse- make the choices unattractive.

  14. What ever happened to the tables, they're no fun anymore. Always the same mods, never the ones you'd really need, no good enough logic to hunt for them. I wished there was at least SOME rhyme or reason to what kind of mods could one expect and that some amount of maximum kills should guarantee the drop of a hunted mod.

Maybe it was the reintroduction of Fusion Cores to all tables(Please, keep that part, though!!!Lol), but that can't have been all. I've joined this game before that change and I remember getting at least all the major mods ("Continuity, Focus, Flow, Piercing Hit, Cryo Rounds...") without piling up literally hundreds of "Diamond Skins","Pressure Point", "Reach", "Fury", "Quick Draw"....I mean, it's just... dull. Somehow the diversity is gone.

I'd be fine with all of that, if- again- there was some better logic behind good hope for certain types of mods again. It took me to chance encounter the freaking Stalker to have him drop "Focus" on me after 7 days of hunting for it. Really?

Luck is nice, but a bit more direction would be a lot nicer!

  15. And here I was hoping he'd talk about debilitating lag or host migrations after 23 minutes that leave you alone at the start-up position with toxic ancients storming in on top of you, killing you in an instant. Seeing that you alone you'd choose not to revive and- drumrolls- "mission failed"??? Wouldn't 23minutes and a death equate to the end of a survival mission. But I guess it reset its timer somehow for the fail mark?

But the lag is a real dilemma and a giant downer on the "online" joy. Sometimes it's perfectly fine, but too often it's tragic.

Anyway, this thread is a decent outcry for the wrong reason, haha... but I feel your pain! ;)

  16. Phobos is beautiful, but climbing up the rocks can take you out of the map. The very first mission had me track down players until a closed door (no lockdown!). So I figured I can climb over it and sure enough, I could, but that was the end of the map section (kinda revealing your methods a bit, very clever, but...). SO I fell to my death (mission failed). Not an elegant solution to deal with a shortcoming of the code, not of the player!

I've once been pushed through the bottom of the map, falling into "death', beneath an elevator. That was...well...ugly, but- ok- some consequence should be expected, getting squished or so... BUT, climbing out of the map?! Hmmm....

So, yeah, there you have it. Cute bug. The closed door &!$$ed me off a little more, though, because there was no other way?!?

  17. I decided to see, if someone has suggested it and- sure enough- of course you did.

I think that would be excellent, maybe even clan held mini tournaments with a Hall of Fame scoreboard or the ability to set up something like that.

In general it would probably be best to come up with a part of the customization system that enables clans to make display tables and the likes, so that each can come up with their own little games and score keeping.

Man, this game could so quickly become immensely immersive.

A dojo weapon testing system would be awesome, too, based on weapons held by clan members. Maybe they'd have to be present in the same room to swap them out for a test shooting. Not sure, if that would throw a wrench into the sales system or would take away some of the motivation to hunt down building components and go through all the terror of finding blueprints, but it may also help the motivation instead.

A shooting range would be the perfect setting for such a thing!

  18. Weapons could not reload, while both full of ammo (shotgun, despair).

I bought and used Pistol Ammo. It did not disappear in the (Q)box when I clicked on it, but Despair Ammo showed full (6/210).

(OH, I should add that I double clicked the pistol ammo icon, because it did not disappear and I thought some lag might've caused it not to register. It did not disappear then either during the round, but now it's gone of course.)

However, I guess after shooting the remaining 6 it believed there was no more ammo?! It automatically switched to shotgun, used up what was in the magazine and then, TOO, did not reload, while it was also fully loaded.

That was very unfortunate, because I just was returning to extraction after killing Tyl Regor. Thankfully he did not drop a blueprint, otherwise I would've been furious right now.

I'm quite sure, it's a bug with the equipped ammo. Can anyone confirm weird stuff happening, when using it?

This case was certainly the most concerning, because it really kills. I'd love to see a hotfix for it, for sure!

    Thanks!
