  1. Banshee. In any situation, I have an ability that at least gives me a moment to think and move. Not doing enough damage anymore? Sonar gives me weakpoints that quintuple my damage. Getting overwhelmed? Silence stops everyone around me in their tracks and gives me a moment to get someone up, get out of a kill box, or just bullet jump my way to the exit without getting bothered. I always run with the augment for my 4 as its less rude to other players. I mostly only use her first ability (Sonic Scream? I've forgotten) to punish enemies who CC me 😄 What can I say, I'm petty like that.

She's also excellent for hunting, as due to her passive the animals can't hear the tranq rifle's shots, so you can keep plugging away at them as much as you want without sending them running.

Also, as I tend to run in a group of friends, the fact that she is a great catalyst for making other frames into even bigger monsters is very useful.

  2. While I don't know for sure, from previous experience I would imagine that the test cluster will go something like this:-

    1. You won't get your own account, you'll get items, waframes and a Railjack, with inventory, etc. set up however it needs to be for the scenario.
    2. You won't get a venue to give general feedback about design decisions, any bug reports that are a thinly veiled "I think you should do this instead" may be ignored.
    3. You'll be expected to perform the task you have been assigned and then note down any bugs that happen.
    4. You'll be expected to write out those bugs in comprehensive reports, with full understanding of the scenario and trigger for the bug (also known as reproduction steps or repro steps).
    5. You'll be expected to do the tasks over and over, sometimes with small variations like playing with a different frame.

Now, I could be wrong, as it's a public test server, and sometimes developers will copy your account over, with the understanding that anything you "earn" in this server won't be transferred to the live server. Then, they restrict what's available to do in the game. In this case, I would suspect that only Railjack missions are playable. This is more likely to be fun, but it will also be buggy and you'll still be expected to try things repeatedly until you can replicate the issue, and then write bug reports.

From the general feeling I've gotten from this thread, there is the assumption that people in the test cluster are going to be giving design feedback which will lead into shaping the game. And sure, general balancing bugs for the things which are specifically being tested may well get looked at. But I would be very surprised if testers can do much more than tweak the numbers.

    The test cluster is also:-

    • PC only
    • Due to expand who can access it in phases. The test cluster will be running a different version of the dev build, so it'll no doubt be interesting for the system engineers to get that running nicely. It makes sense not to try it out with a large number of people all at once. Like I said in another post, I suspect it will be open to all who are interested within the next six months.

I wouldn't have minded if the PC players in the Design Council were invited, but I don't mind either that they were in the same boat as the rest of us. I am a little sad though how a lot of people seem to be viewing the test cluster as some kind of meeting of the minds they're being excluded from, where the "lucky tester"'s opinions will be listened to and given weight. I'm afraid the only thing you can take as a given from a public test server is bug reports.

Some test servers do also use it as a sounding board for an upcoming release, but until we're told that is their intention, I think we should probably focus on finding and fixing bugs, and less on "fixing the game" from a design perspective.

  3. So, I don't know if anyone on here is aware, but DE are rolling out their first wave of invites to a Public Test Cluster. Currently, this cluster will be testing out Railjack improvements, and only 100-500 accounts will be invited to begin with.

If they follow the usual methodology of these things, I would expect a public test server for patches to go through first for a couple of weeks, filled with people to file bug reports and help polish the release before it goes out to the general public who don't want to do that sort of thing unless they're being paid. They've heavily implied that they will be doing rolling invites, and expanding the number of people on it over time.

I predict it will be in a "whoever wants to download the client" state within the next six months, and that should help catch most of these issues and take some of the pressure off their internal QA team for the bigger, more infrastructure-y bugs.

This does mean that those who want more polished releases can not sign up, whereas those who want to playtest and report bugs will be able to do so! Though it is PC only, as certification makes test servers for consoles a slightly tricky position...

  4. Pinning grineer to the walls using my bows, and using Silence on my main, Banshee, to see everyone clutching their heads and screaming noiselessly is a lot of fun.

    I'm not a psychopath I swear.

Apart from that, helping people out when I can, and leaving them with the words, "When you can, pass it on." 🙂

It takes skill to swing your melee? News to me. If you want to actually use a skill frame, go main Banshee.

My favourite frame by miles. *is covered in love hearts* Sometimes, you just click with a frame, y'know? I like how she makes life easier for the group and has multiple responses to "oh S#&$" moments.

And the Silence animation no longer makes me feel like a monster, so that's good? *coughs uncomfortably*

    This goes in here too.

Regarding Loki prime and his deformed back that makes all syndanas sit crooked, and aim camera issues during combat.

I can't help with the syndana issues but there is a button, at least on PC, that switches shoulders. I pressed it by accident once and couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, but didn't work it out for ages. The button on PC is 'H'. Hope that helps.

  7. This would be awesome. Like, create a new tile you can take warframes to, maybe the Hall of Memories from the War Within quest (the abandoned Orokin place on the snowy mountain). They could release the warframes one at a time, and then the gate will unlock for that frame and you can see their memories, and help them through the experience. Once you've done it for that warframe, it becomes an Umbra as far as sentience goes.

You should definitely post this in Feedback!

  8. Which mastery test did it suddenly get hard for you at? Simaris has tutorial/practice versions you can do and if you fail the real one, you can take it again the following day.

There is currently a bit of a janky difficulty curve on the stealth tests due to a fix to enemy detection.

  9. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but considering that mining and fishing have their own, rather fun in my opinion, mini games, could we see something similar for plants at some point?

I do think that having it on the normal missions could be a problem if it takes much time (probably why you can't hunt, fish or mine in normal maps) and we don't want to move them to only the open worlds.

I agree with the poster above who suggested that they become destructible containers, this would make them act the same and keep things moving.

Still kind of want to do a gathering or farming mini game though.

  10. I would like to see some blueprints added to the Dojo labs that let you use your Fieldrons to get Fieldron Samples, Mutagen to get Mutagen Samples, etc.

It's very frustrating to have the "built" version but need the samples for something with no way of taking them apart again.

The blueprints would have a credit and other components cost but should return at least as many samples as it takes to make the number of built resources required.

This, spawning on top of you, was what happened to me. I was leveling up some weapons and Loper, my Helminth Charger, when right at the end of the mission in the alcove just outside of the door leading to extraction, 27 meters away they hammered me. My Charger was knocked down four times, and I had to revive her which killed me four times. Every time we got up and going they hit me again. Finally, on my final revive, I got in between Loper and them and backed through the doorway and extracted. I was woefully under powered, because I was leveling up some crap weapons. I think I did manage to kill one of them. It sucked, though. I really thought that I was going to lose Loper.

Just to let you know that if your pet goes down or dies in a mission, they're fine once you extract. You won't lose them. You may have to pet them to make up for letting them die though (kubrows lose loyalty when they die, not sure about Helminth Chargers)

  12. What would I like done with the Stalker? Hmm, well the last few times I saw him I didn't actually see him because two Tigris Primes really make a mess and I didn't catch up in time, only got to see the drop.

Do I want some random person trying to kill me? Not really. I doubt I'd be much fun for them either since I'd just get on with my day rather than getting upset.

What I really want is a story quest, new Stalker lore. Answers! Who and what is he really? What about the Acolytes? Can we help him? Can we kill him? Why does he still hold grudges against us for going against the Orokin, was he a loyalist? Is he Tenno? Is he NOT?!

I have no desire to hurt others by playing the Stalker, or have my game messed with (if I even saw him). But I really, really want my lore fix.

After all, everyone likes lore, it's a fact, you can't deny it. Loads of successful games have lore and story. ;)

  13. This is one of the areas which is most hotly debated in my clan, but I think there is enough evidence to suggest that a few things can be confirmed.

The first thing is that Margulis put the Tenno to sleep, in order to protect them, presumably from the man in the wall. This meant that they were not aware of what they were while they were dreaming. The confusion about what is Tenno and what is warframe can be tied fairly closely to this decision.

The second thing which is interesting is that Ballas makes reference to creating the warframes, that they only changed them as much as necessary to warp them. Then, he calls them failures and says that they all turned on the Orokin, but it's ambiguous whether that was an instinctive or considered rebellion. The Rhino codex seems to imply the former, but he may have just been very angry. We know the Orokin tried torture and mind control to get the warframes to do what they wanted, and that it didn't work, until the Tenno arrived.

And this is the real problem, and the reason that a lot of people seem to want to think that their warframes are different. It makes the Tenno a successful control mechanism, a consciousness that subsumes another's.

However, in the Sacrifice, the operator cuts off Ordis in order to go to Umbra, saying that they remember what to do, that they've done it before. What they are referring to is going into Umbra's nightmares and soothing them. Umbra is unique because it has a single memory looping in its head, but clearly the connection and the kindness is nothing new between Tenno and warframe.

What can be said is that the original blueprint for every warframe was an infected person. The fact that Umbra was unchanged despite being built like the other warframes seems to heavily imply that the Foundry is capable of making true copies.

We know that Prime warframes are the ones that Ballas was selling to the Orokin as a solution. We know that the non-Prime warframes are somehow diminished, but not exactly how. Whether the Primes are true copies of the original warframe is ambiguous. We don't know why our warframes have only moved on their own once.

Now for my own opinion. In the Second Dream, my warframe saved me. In the War Within, I saved her. And in the Sacrifice, I found out that we saved each other long before that. I choose to believe that we exist in a symbiotic relationship with our warframes, even if only Umbra can choose to fight alongside us.

Currently, the Biz has ignored all photos of adverts apart from the four at the co-ordinates given in the ARG, even before they went to bed, so I think we can safely ignore them. Dedady is keeping track of them, just in case.
