  1. DE could start by reverting the Pilfering Swarm change and actually focusing on what the problem was (Ophelia/new enemies and their loot tables), instead of taking it out on the community. =/

And then yes, Hydroid does need to be looked at. But he's near the top of a list that includes a good handful of frames.

  2. I posted in the feedback thread, but TL;DR... people are already complaining about increasing the grind, and this seems like a knee-jerk reaction to something that's existed for (months?), just because of one tileset that got updated with new enemies that seem to have different loot-dropping mechanics. This is indirectly increasing the grind.

I like the change with teammates killing on tentacles, but nerfing Pilfering Swarm is not helping. Nerf/look over Ophelia/Uranus instead, please.

  3. I just want to toss my two cents into the jar here, as a long-time on-and-off player (recently re-addicted thank to U17's wonderful changes and additions).

I believe the intended change is poorly thought out. It seems spontaneous and knee-jerk, for how long the mod has existed. Why is it suddenly an issue? Ophelia is likely the cause of the sudden alarm, where the drop tables were either intentionally generous (but unintentionally exploitable), or unintentionally had extra drops (like gallium, considerable amounts of tellurium, and also the heavy gunner who always drops a mod) but were left in to see how things play out.

Recently I've seen a lot of people complain about "the grind". Severely hindering flexibility on an already hindered frame, while reducing players' ability to farm, can also be seen as increasing the grind yet again. It isn't Hydroid's fault, or the players', that Uranus is so ripe for the pilfering (heh heh - yes, it had to be included). Please don't take it out on us, or Hydroid and his wonderful augment. Look into Ophelia and fix it up. Before U17, Hydroid was apparently "fine", anyway.

I will admit, pilfering Ophelia was some of the most fun I've had in the game. Simply because of the vast amounts of loot. I'd like to say that the idea of the heavy gunner always dropping things was pretty cool. I don't know if it was intentional, but it was neat, even if not exploitable. I would simply make changes to Uranus/Ophelia, not necessarily Hydroid.

I think it would be awesome to have a rare-ish enemy type or loot-hoarder eximus that can randomly appear, sorta like treasure goblins in Diablo 3, and have it drop a decent amount of things. It'd have to be difficult to take down though. Imagine, it'd be fun to chase down with this new parkour system?

Lastly, I adore DE, and Warframe is by far my favorite and only F2P game that I've ever played significant amounts, put money into, or recommended. I'm sure you guys will figure a better solution out.

  4. Not sure if i heard Steve right but i'm pretty sure there will be more than 1 utility slot. Didn't he mention getting that one via quest and then unlocking more via other means?

I'm thinking it MIGHT be like Catalysts/Reactors, in that you slot it into a frame (and maybe weapons? who knows) and it acts exactly like those. Otherwise, more than one utility slot would get pretty ridiculous. I also believe he said the polarity can be changed? Or added.. probably added, since it still seems to cost points to use it.

  5. I've had similar issues. And one happened earlier.

For starters, earlier, I was in a T3S chugging away (not camping.. not that it matters) and hoping to see something acceptable at the 40 minute mark. No issues at all up until the 38 minute mark, when it says the host disconnected. It booted all of us promptly to our ships, BUT it kept us all in the same squad. Everyone was highly irritated and still there. This is not the first time this has happened. It's somewhat rare, but there really needs to be a system in place to prevent completely shafting everyone.

Another major issue I have had recently is that I hosted a T3S myself, my own key. We started, and it immediately changed hosts for some reason. Then, just after the 5 minute mark, the person it happened to make host got disconnected and it wasted my key, while also booting everyone out. This makes no sense, especially since I should have been the host in the first place. I see this random host-swap at the start, all the time. Not sure if it's DE trying to pick the "best host", but at least I know my internet is reliable. It's not like you can see pings anywhere. People would have a much better time if they could see pings, and pick who they play with.

  6. On the surface it sounds alright, but after playing slower frames, and avoiding one altogether (Frost... I HATE playing Frost.), I can't think this is a good idea... Some weapons have very niche uses that require all of its mod slots already. This would pretty much require another slot just to deal with weight.

And on top of that, playing a slow/heavy frame is not fun. Trying to do any kind of parkour is just irritating. Trying to catch up to your team? Nope.

Additionally, maybe a new player comes into one of the many "farmed" missions (or quick voids) and has any kind of loadout that isn't "optimal" for speed, because he or she doesn't know what's going on. Most of the time, more experienced players already leave them in the dust due to coptering/optimal coptering equipment. This would do the same and probably fluster that player.

I'm not against more weapon or frame customization (like armor pieces or attachments that significantly change certain things, like powers [sorta like augments, but more general +/-]), but I think weight might limit choice too much. I don't think I'd enjoy it, personally. I'm SO damn happy stamina is going away, and hoping that parkour becomes a lot more fluid, as after not playing for several months and coming back to this system.. it's a little frustrating at times.

  7. I have no idea what would have changed or caused this, but now I get the firewall port popup every single time I load the game. I can see all the squads running various things initially, and I try to connect, but it never works. Nor when I host. After I get the firewall popup, it shows 0 squads anywhere, on any planet.

I've tried messing with UPNP, changing the ports, rebooting router/computer/cable modem etc. Nothing works, and I cannot connect to anyone.

Hoping this is just an ISP issue, but since it worked perfectly fine before the hotfixes, I don't know.

Edit: Turns out my ISP is having moderately wide-spread issues right now. Doesn't appear to be a Warframe-specific thing. (Time Warner Cable)

  8. All I know is my gut says maybe.

I'm hyped. I don't care if it degrades like Argon. Argon isn't annoying. It can't be worse than Oxium, and oxium's still not bad what with Baal, Europa being around.

And even then, are people really complaining about something else to do in the game?

  9. Can vouch for this. Another fix is to get someone in the party that was not bugged, to start a mission. When you get in-game, you can back out and get your UI back.

This issue has been around since I returned, since U14 dropped. It happens maybe 1/12 runs, often to most of the party.

I assume it's been reported though.

  10. Neat idea, but more than anything, I want a legit sentry gun-esque skill that actually holds its own in the endgame.

Ideally, it would work like Tornado in that you could shoot it to 'supercharge' it into your current element. Ideally it would be his/her #4 ability, just because I love sentry guns.

I'd probably make one ability an exploding grenade of sorts. Perhaps you throw it and it becomes a mine, or it jumps up into the air, spins and scatters projectiles (or kunai?).

Another ability might be to throw a trap that can attach to surfaces and create a laser, connected to possibly a second use of the ability (or it shoots its own projectile straight across from where it's placed), that does continuous damage to anything standing in it. Potentially powerful in the right situation/defensive missions.

Last ability (probably #3) would be some sort of self or team buff that grants several medium bonuses like the innate punch-through, minor projectile seeking (very minor), minor attack speed + damage, etc.

I don't like how Vauban is the "engineer" frame, when he barely even feels like an "engineer". He sorta looks like it, but that's it.

  11. I agree. The current reward system for Defense and Interception feels archaic, after playing Survival.

The rewards simply need to be looked over and changed to scale accordingly (like voids). Plus, you get to keep everything you've picked up in Survival if you fail. You keep NOTHING in Defense, when it's so easy to fail after a certain point. Much less crashes/host issues.

Also, it's annoying in Survival that one single person can't leave without everyone else leaving. But this is less of a problem, just a minor annoyance.

  12. And to make matters worse the Warframe staff are now off for the weekend. So be prepared for a buggy weekend.

Too many people would be upset about losing boosters, and it would only hurt the game/game's populous, so... I think (hope!) it will be fixed by this afternoon.

I'm sad that matchmaking is broken, too, though. I wish it was just chat, if anything, because now I can't even really play. Solo's not very fun.
