  1. I just sent a support ticket in with a fresh DxDiag file attached. Hopefully that will provide DE with some extra insight. Thank you for the advice, Puckeye!

I have been able to reproduce this anomaly, the PhysX effects being toggled on does seem to solve the artifacting problem.

  2. Have you tried turning the PhysX toggle off again and see if the artifacting comes back?

Might be worth a try and actually fulfil parts of your duty as a Beta tester :)

I was actually just about to start up Warframe to check that (can't believe I didn't think of that to begin with, how embarrassing...). I'll report back in a few minutes.

  3. I wasn't sure where I should post this, but I thought this had a better chance of being seen in the bugs forum.

For some reason, Warframe has always caused artifacting on my computer after one or two missions. It never to the point of a complete system failure, and the artifacts' abundancy ranged from very little to almost overwhelming. However, it was quite frustrating to see my video card artifact after about ten minutes of play on Warframe.

Now, the fix I stumbled upon...

Out of curiosity, and while in a rather spiteful mood (having been frustrated with my video card for a while), I decided to toggle the PhysX effects on. My thought process was that if it worked without harming the framerate or breaking my video card, awesome. If it lowered my framerate, fine, I'd turn it off. If it broke my video card...well, that was a wimpy card anyway and it had it coming for all the frustration its caused me.

So, first game with PhysX effects on, no artifacting. I thought it was an isolated incident or a fluke, so I kept playing, paying special attention on the lookout for any artifacting. I have not experienced a single artifact since I have toggled the PhysX effects on.

UPDATE: Within five minutes of playing Warframe after turning the PhysX effects back off, the graphics card artifacting returned.

For those of you with Nvidia cards experiencing the same kind of graphics card artifacting, try turning on the PhysX effects. I hope it helps you like it did me.

On a side note, they don't "flow" correctly, the effects themselves seem sluggish and choppy, but Warframe's framerate (tee hee) is unaffected.

To DE, it's bizarre, but I'm not complaining. Not one bit. I hope what I stumbled upon helps you in some way. If not, at least you'll (hopefully) get a nice chuckle out of it.

See you all on the battlefield,

    - Crimson_Thomas

P.S., To those of you wondering, I am using an Nvidia 250 GTS 1GB graphics card. Also, I just realized that this is in the "Feedback" forum. I'm sorry.

  4. Yes! My first encounter with the Stalker was awesome! I was on a Mercury snow mission as well when he jumped down from on top of a storage container. He immediately depolyed a smoke screen, making himself invisible to me. I managed to get half of his health down, then he delpoyed his smoke screen and vanished.

Later on in the mission, he popped up as I was nearing the LZ for pickup, and he used what looked like my Ash's Bladestorm ability. That hurt. A lot. I managed to kill him though, he dropped some nice loot.

    His abilities seem to be:

    - Ash's Smokescreen

    - Ash's Teleport

    - Ash's Bladestorm

    - He also used the Excalibur's "charge" ability (forgot what that was called)

The Stalker cannot be stunned with gunfire, so don't try that. Also, if he hits you with his sword...um...don't let him hit you with his sword.

Again, amazing work, DE. I felt like I was actually being hunted. That was awesome.

  5. After selecting colors for my Warframe, they will show up just fine on a solo mission, but on multiplayer missions my colors change, particularly my Warframe's and weapons' "energy" color will change from the blood-red I had chosen to white. Anyone know a fix for this? If not, I hope this makes its way up to DE.

I know it's not a huge issue, but I did pay so that I could use that "Classic Saturated" color palette on my ASH, and I would like to see what I paid for on my character.

  6. Ash. I have been using that Warframe since day-one of me playing, and I haven't regretted it one bit. :) Yes, Blade Storm is a bit...interesting (glitchy) at the moment, but when it works, it works. You can clear an entire room.

  7. Ced23Ric, thank you for posting this.

I feel the same way, I'm completely fine with Warframe having enemies that have the ability to stagger or stun-lock the player. I actually believe it is essential for adding proper balance to the gameplay. However, I believe it's been taken too far. Way too far. I'll focus on my experience with Grineer.

Almost every Grineer soldier has some ability to stagger you (which I'm ok with if you don't dodge the rifle butt or napalm rocket), but now the Grineer marines have the ability to dispatch the Grinders and "Shock Mines," and they do use them. They utterly and wholly spam them. I can't italicize or emphasize that point enough. When there is an entire room full of Grineers hell-bent on killing you and you alone, and they start spamming Grinders or "Shock Mines," the game stops being fun. It becomes flat-out cheap and frustrating.

In just today alone, I was chain-stun-locked five times in a row by those rolling "Shock Mines," and when you stop moving, as other players here have stated, the game spawns more enemies to come for you. I had about eleven Grineer marines around me, two of which were Seekers and two more were Napalms. Also, help wasn't coming because my teammates were trapped in the exact same stun-lock ordeal on the other side of the ship. I wasn't about to waste any more of my revives for the day on that. Frustrated, I quit the game.

I understand that there has to be at least a few ways to slow down cyber-space-ninjas, but the whole stun-lock thing has been taken too far. Especially when there is zero way to avoid getting stun-locked. When you have three to five "Shock Mines" rolling towards you, you will get hit. There is no fun in that, and that isn't a good gameplay mechanic.

  8. This is a huge relief for me. I truly feel for you and the rest of the development team, and I want to support you guys and gals as much as I can...you all seem to be a solid bunch of developers (and I've been burned by bad devs poisoned by a nasty publisher one big time too many). I had every intention of upgrading my Founders account, but it was just a matter of timing and funds not working together (life does that, haha). I am ecstatic.

Anyway, thank you, Jay. I greatly appreciate all of the work you and the rest of the Warframe team have done and for staying connected with the fans here. Please, keep it up!

  9. This just started today. After a random crash to the desktop I attempted to reopen the game, but now even on the login screen and main menu the framerate has dropped dramatically, there is even a delay in moving the cursor.

Anyone else being ailed by this? Anyone have a fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Hello everyone. Crimson_Thomas here.

As stated in my introductory post, I am a huge fan of writing sci-fi stories and fanfictions, and I finally decided to take a stab (tee-hee) at writing one for Warframe. Any amount of feedback would be greatly appreciated. I would love to do anything I can do become a better writer and make this story a better adventure for all of you.

Silentio Stellatum is Latin for "Silence of Stars." This seemed fitting for the Tenno's silence, but also just for the sense of vast mystery that Warframe brings about so well. I had used this as a title for a sci-fi RP on the Dead Frontier forums, if there is anyone out there who might know me from that community.

Sit back, relax, and please enjoy Silentio Stellatum.

    Prologue: Ash from Ashes

I gasp. It was cold. I was cold. I was alone. All I could do was breathe.

I didn't wish to be here. I wished to feel warmer places, I wished to see familiar faces. I can recall them no longer. I couldn't remember a thing. It hurt to much to utter a single word. A flash! Voices! They were gone. Who was gone? I lay still, my busy mind trying to make sense of the box around me. I blinked ceaselessly, trying to free my eyes from a painting murky shadows and color and fear, clouded by tears or by sleep, I am not sure. I do my best not to weep.

"Tenno. I need you to wake up." The voice startled me.

Everything was stiff. Any movement that my body tried to permit itself was punished with fierce, spastic agony. I didn't have the words to speak. Weakly, I placed my hand on the cool glass in front of me. The voice called out again, more softly this time.

"Don't be afraid, Tenno. I am here to help you. You have been asleep for a very long time. I'm going to open your cryogenic capsule. Please. Remain. Calm."

Questions flooded my mind. Where was I? Who was that speaking to me? How did I get here? How long have I been asleep? What happened to me?

The frosty glass in front of me lifted away, I fell from the capsule to my knees. Tears flooding my vision as I viewed the void before me. There were planets and starships floating in the horizon. The gleaming light of a star flashing between the vessels and water.

"This is not your time anymore,Tenno. Everything you knew before is not what it is now." She told me. It was the first time things started to come together.

Another flash. Another voice. Smoke. Mist. My arm. An Ash from ashes.

I gasp. It was cold. I was cold. I was alone. All I could do was breathe.

  11. If taunts are implemented, I want my ASH to say something along the lines of this:

"My gusta is overcharged. Me. Gusta."

    "Does my gusta intimidate you?"

"A krundel to whoever restores my gusta!" (When incapacitated)

    "(Me Gusta face)"

"Me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta."

    Yeah...I know I'm a game-developing genius. Hold your applause.
