No update in today's Dev shorts from any questions in chat.

It probably would be a lot on DE's part, but at this point it would be nice to establish some some of group consisting of DE members and players that can get updates on all things cross-save feedback on a regular basis. There doesn't need to be a substanital update every time, but something that acknowledges that there is in fact progress happening would be nice. 

I've kind of conceded that this is a backburner priority for DE as they try to roll out new updates and put cross save in the past, but I still have a fraction of a sliver of hope that we can get something that at least compares our inventories and brings over non-matching items for a merge.

The FAQ, for those who may not have seen, holds our stance and reasoning:

This was not a decision that was taken lightly during Cross Save development. We recognize that it’s frustrating for players who decided years ago to Migrate to be now limited in their Cross Platform Save options.
 

To address the second point, Support can assist with Cross Platform Save issues you encounter (missing items, error when linking etc), and the Forums are a place where we welcome your feedback and constructive suggestions. Apologies for the confusion on where the best place was to go to get clarification or provide your thoughts.

So I just want to ask, since the FAQ has changed a few times, I still won't be able to access my items on Switch when I play on my PC account if I link accounts right? My Switch account may have copied inventories at one point (Which we were pretty much encouraged to do when that was new!) but it has a VERY different inventor than my PC account. There are a lot of purchases and items I acquired in my time playing on the Switch before I came back to being able to play on PC that I don't want to lose. 

If linking doesn't allow me to have access to my items, then it feels like I'm being isolated from other players.  (Trading, not being a cross-save account, etc.)

To say I feel disappointed about this response is a baseline. :(

I'm pretty disappointed in my cross save experience so far due to not really being eligible to participate thanks to a previous PC-to-Console migration on Switch. The decision makes some sense (copying over an already duplicated inventory would have been a MASSIVE increase in resources for me, personally), but this whole time I had been under the impression that this issue was something that was known and being considered as cross-save was being developed. I had a period where I only played on Switch because I no longer had a PC, but then switched back to playing on PC once that option was available again. It feels like an edge case, but it's still a bummer that I can't carry over the differences between my inventories to finally everything I earned all in one place.

What also was surprising was the lack of communication about this all the way up until implementing cross-save. According to the wayback machine, right up until around the December 18 rollout, there was no mention of the eligibility for accounts that already did a PC-to-Console account migration.

These snapshots also don't represent exactly when an update to the cross progression FAQ was made, but they do show that they added a good amount of information at some point close to rollout.

Overall, I'm glad that cross progression is finally here along with crossplay and trading! I wanted to just give my feedback on what my personal experience has been like so far. Hopefully a solution for these kinds of cases can happen in the future, otherwise I think I'll have to see about just trading myself from my Switch account 😂

[Wondering about copying over from PC to Switch]

So I'm super excited about Warframe coming to Switch soon and I was wondering about how the account carry over to Switch would work. I know that Fortuna won't be available at launch, so when my account copies over is my stuff copying over from the way it is now or as it was in a previous version of the game? Hopefully that makes sense!
