  1. If you ask me, one of their most blatant cash grabs was putting new clan tech up for plat purchase. Also, adding the new Nikanas for sale for the ridiculous price of 275 plat is insane.

But oh! You want to craft it instead of buying it with plat?

Well sure thing, Little Johnny. All you have to do is spend some time grinding in the Void for a material that's not only rare, but expires in one day! And you need 4 of them total!

What's that, Little Johnny? You say you want to get a stance with that Nikana?

It's yours, Little Johnny! All you have to do is spend roughly 12 hours grinding for a rare stance that has a low chance of dropping from enemies that are only located in two places in the whole game!

Hmm? You say you want to buy it off the player market?

Anytime, Little Johnny. Just make sure you buy 150 plat from us AT LEAST in order to secure it. But just to be safe, you should definitely drop $15 in plat. For one. Lousy. Mod.

    Come on, DE.

  2. Man it's been a while. Almost 6 months? Yeesh. Welp. Better get back to it.

    ~[Trans Sidera 3: The Mission]~

Hamilton walked into the hangar, fingers still tracing the gash left in his Loki armor. To his surprise, the Warframe had already begun to heal. The sinewy inlay began to slowly slide together, like some kind of strange snake or eel. If Hamilton listened closely, he would've heard the nanites in his suit slowly mending themselves, replicating themselves, and connecting themselves together.

But Warframe tech wasn't on Hamilton's mind. No, what WAS on his mind was the upcoming mission. He knew very little about it, and less about the team he was going to work with. Except for Charlette. And she was nuts. Hot, but nuts. No way Hamilton was going to hit that... Well maybe, but right now, he was preoccupied with what other weirdos he'd have to work with on this mission.

He quickly scanned the hangar. Four infiltration transports, an ornate table, a very complicated looking work bench, and a tall humanoid that Hamilton guessed was another Tenno. He looked the foreign man (or was it a woman?) over. Tall. Very tall. The armor was white with bright teal swirling patterns and icy blue tendrils that seemed to wrap around the man (or lady) like some kind of squid. The helmet shape was interesting as well. It almost looked crustacean, with what looked like multiple eyes peeking out from what seemed to be a popped collar and the top of the helmet, which ended in a long horn that terminated into a flat plateau with a little glowing thing on it.

    Frost.

A voice in his mind identified the strange being, and suddenly, a surge of information rushed into Thomas Hamilton's head.

A defensive frame focused heavily on abilities whose theme is ice. Abilities include freezing enemies solid, creating crystalline shards that can rip through multiple enemies, forming large orbs of ice that block incoming fire, and generating sub-zero temperatures that can freeze enemies solid. Best tactical use; defending set points. Best in a support role. Can also act as a substitute tank, though other Warframes are much more suitable for the job.

Hamilton clutched his head, and stared at the ground, reeling a bit as this news began to seep into his brain. He could see Charlette stop in her tracks and turn around. She bent down to look Hamilton in the eye, and said something, but it sounded muffled to Hamilton.

Trinity. A support frame designed to heal and assist the team. Abilities include suspending enemies in air and allowing allies who damage said enemy to regain their health, a similar ability that imparts energy to allies that damage a select enemy, channeling damage taken and redirecting to nearby enemies, and restoring the health of all teammates and giving them temporary invulnerability. Best tactical use; supporting teammates from long range. Invaluable asset from team. Should be kept alive at high priority.

More information. Now Hamilton's head was beginning to hurt. He found himself on his knees as more information began to manifest in his eyes. Looking up at Charlette, he saw various openings for surprise attacks. Ghost versions of himself seemed to replay various attacks exploiting her openings, while the voice in his head announced their movements.

Right hand to back of left shoulder. Left foot to left side of torso. Right foot stomp on stomach. Right elbow to sternum.

Thomas was hyperventilating now. Charlette was yelling something but he still couldn't hear. He looked up again to see the massive Frost, even taller than before due to Hamilton's stance, began storming over, intent unclear. Again, ghost projections began taking advantage of the massive man's openings. However, these all ended when the Frost raised his long arm and backhanded Thomas across the face. The power, mixed with Hamilton's already fragile mental state, knocked him out cold.

    -----------------------------------------------

Aaron Moran stared at the mustachioed Englishman in the Loki armor who lay unconscious on the ground before him. He gave a piercing gaze at Charlette that even conveyed itself under his helmet.

"Just what the hell did you bring me, Matres?" Aaron boomed, using her call sign as opposed to her real name.

Charlette cringed. "I didn't bring you anything. It was Lotus. She insisted we work with him."

Aaron sighed, which manifested in an icy haze that surrounded his helmet. "By the gods..." he murmured. "I'm on a ship of fools." He slowly turned around and moved back towards the table, where he was working on his Vectis sniper rifle. He picked up the powerful rifle and gazed it over. Innate armor piercing projectiles; perfect against the heavily armored Grineer soldiers they were about to face. Charlette was still checking over the new Loki, while Aaron loaded up. His Vectis, Dual Vastos, and his trusty Galatine.

    "Matres." he called out.

    "Yes?"

"Get him up within 30. We leave without him if he's not up and ready by then."

    "But Lotus-"

"Screw Lotus! I am not about to sacrifice a mission and my -or your- well-being because a reject wants to play ninja."

    "I understand..."

"Good. Now load up. We go get our fourth member soon."

Aaron prayed that she wouldn't be like the newbie.

  3. Alright, I'm having some crazy slow download speeds. I'm attempting to download a patch today which is 148 MBs large, and my download speed is garbage slow, ranging from 200 BYTES (not kilobytes, not megabytes, just BYTES) to 1-2 KBs. Thing is, my internet and download speed for other things are fine. Steam? 700 KBs to 1-2 MBs. My internet browser is fast too, so it's JUST the Warframe updater that's taking so long.

Any of the devs know what's up? I'd like to get it and play, but this download speed isn't letting me. And this isn't the first day for this to happen. This happened yesterday, and I waited all day until today for the update to be applied, upon which Warframe crashed when I hit Play.

Anyone else having this problem? I'd love some help.

  4. ~[Trans Sidera 2: My Team]~

    Hamilton couldn't shake it.

Nothing on his mind weighed heavier than it.

This odd, unshakable smell of ham.

It never left him. Long after awakening from crysleep and going through basic training, this stench would not leave his Loki armor. The vile odor seeped in through every open space of the Warframe. With each breath he drew, the strong smell would overtake his nostrils. Even worse, when he would breathe through his mouth in an attempt to reduce the intake of ham-stink, he could practically taste it on his tongue, which was even more disugusting. It didn't even smell or taste like good ham, either. It was wet, bloody, soggy, uncooked ham. Hamilton had absolutely nothing against ham, but this scent was seriously going to make him puke.

He removed his helmet and took a loud gasp of air. The smell wasn't so overpowering now. He rubbed his pale face and stroked his long, handlebar moustache, slowly leading his fingers into the small bit of chin stubble he was growing. Hamilton sighed rather loudly. He really didn't want to meet his team. He pressed the button on the elevator, sending him down to the hangar. All he remembered of his teams was bits and pieces, and those pieces were not pleasant. He really wanted to just do a few solo missions, but Lotus was insistent that he start off by working with a team first, in case anything went wrong. Hamilton couldn't argue. A bit of him was rather worried as well.

But his thoughts would have to wait. The elevator began to slow down as it reached the bottom floor where his team awaited. Hamilton cracked his neck as the doors slowly opened. A blue blur. Suddenly, Hamilton staggered back, hit by the force of something. Something felt like it had dug into his body. He turned to look, and saw some kind of hand-axe imbeded into his shoulder. Blood began to slowly trickle from the wound in his armor.

"Wha... Eh... Huh?" he managed to mumbled before hitting the ground, conciousness fading.

He heard a muffled "OH MY GOD!" before fading into the black.

    ----------------------------------------

    Sight.

Hamilton slowly woke up, his eyes still focusing on the target in front of him.

And what a target it was.

She had long, blonde hair that draped down around Hamilton's face; he could feel strands caressing his cheeks. Crystal blue eyes gazed down at him, inspecting his every move and reaction. He could feel them gazing into his mind and his soul, and he found himself unable to disengage his own eyes from staring at them. And her face! So perfect. She looked as if she was created by the gods themselves! She smiled a radiant smile that warmed Hamilton to the core. A hand rested on his chest.

"Finally!" she exclaimed. "You're awake. You had me worried for a moment."

"Did... Did I die?" Hamilton asked. "I died, didn't I? And this is heaven, huh?"

The woman laughed. "No, silly. You just fainted. But now I healed you up. You should be all better now."

Hamilton really had to strain to tear his gaze off the woman in front of him an look at his shoulder. Sure enough, it was healed. Even the armor was fixed. It almost looked like nothing had ever happened to it. Incredulously, Hamilton turned to the woman with the most stupid face he had ever worn in his life. But the woman seemed to have read his mind.

"I bet you're wondering how I did that." she stated with a smirk. "It's simple! I am a Trinity user. I can heal all but your most grievous injuries like they were nothing! Watch." She pulled out another hand axe and raised it high above her head.

"NO NO NO NO!" Hamilton pleaded, but the axe came down with surprising speed. Hamilton barely had time to clasp the blade between both hands. He smiled weakly. "I'll just take your word for it, okay?"

The woman nodded her head and smiled. "Okay!" she chirped before rising up and prancing to the door leading to the hangar. She turned around to make sure Hamilton was still following. "By the way," she added. "my name is Charlette. Charlette Beaulac. What's your name?"

Hamilton pushed himself up and dusted himself off. "Thomas Hamilton II. It's... a pleasure to meet you."

"Same here! I look forward to working with you or something!" she said so very, very cheerfully.

    "Yeah..." Hamilton muttered. "Or something..."

  5. Hey-o, peeps.

Don't know if this is the right place to put it, but I was about to look into purchasing a Founder's Pack, went to the place where I thought it would be, but instead, I get a blank message that says "No Data Recieved." Is there a issue going on? I'd really like to see if I could purchase one.

If we could get a fix soon, that'd be great.

  6. I like the new mods.

I do not like them being tied into leveling up.

They're a good replacement for our old mod system, but NOT, and I repeat, NOT good for leveling. I think reimplementing the level-up system with the passive, along with the new mods would be a correct step in the way to making this game fun. A lot of people have lost their strength, and I found myself wanting to speedrun as opposed to actually fighting head on, since now all my passives boosts on my Warframe and weaponry are gone, and I'm ridiculously squishy. And I certainly do not feel like grinding maps over and over again to get new mods; most of which I can't use or are fusion cores I can only sell for 50 creds.

Please, DE. Your game is awesome. But this is an incredible turn off. I can say here and now that I won't be playing it nearly as much as I have been until the game is altered in a way that makes it more enjoyable. I have extreme respect for you guys, and having worked in testing games previously, I know that you aren't doing this to malefice us in any way. But please make this more enjoyable for us all.

I'm interested to see what you have in store for us.

  7. I don't really see what you're talking about, but I guess I understand your complaint.

I believe the way DE wanted to go with the design of Saryn is more organic than the others. That's epecially obvious with the strange padding that looks like flesh and muscle, with the accent of the more bone-looking parts. She controls poison, so she's kinda supposed to look a bit hideous and malformed.

I agree with you, in that I don't really see how that's "beautiful" in the sense that most see beauty, but I think it looks good, nevertheless, and fits her ability set and concept quite well.

  8. A word of warning to reader: This story is intended for a mainly comical purpose, speckled here and there with some serious plot advancement and character development; hence the name "FARCE in Space". It will frequently break the 4th wall, and even more frequently make absolutely NO sense at all for the sake of comical purposes. Any persons attempting to take this story seriously will be executed on the spot.

    ~[Trans Sidera 1: From the Stars]~

Hamilton had just woken up from from cryosleep and boy, did he feel it! His body carried a slight chill even under his Loki-class armor and his movement could be considered subpar even by his compatriots who wore the ever-cumbersome Rhino-class armor. But right now, he had a meeting with those who would be his fellow cell-members; newbies just out of cryostasis like him. Maybe he could find someone who was just as cold as he was. Misery loves company, after all. Knowing who they were, though, they'd probably just berate him for complaining.

He walked down the pristine halls of the Orokin Tower to a hangar which was to hold his other teammates and their transports. The one thing he didn't like about the Orokin Tower is just how bright and pristine it was. Ever since he woke up from his cryopod mere hours ago, he'd had a bad day.

    -----

    "Wake up, Tenno."

The voice jolted Hamilton awake from his slumber. Naturally skittish of the unknown by nature, Hamilton hated surprises. Being awakened after centuries of time didn't exactly leave him in a good mood.

"Good God, what time is it?"

"That's of no concern right now, Tenno." the disembodied voice lectured.

Now Hamilton was genuinely freaked out. He was in a tiny, enclosed space, with a voice ringing in his head, and he a terrible itch on his leg that he couldn't reach.

"Who are you?" he asked in his clipped, British accent. "Where am I? What smells like ham?"

"Relax, Tenno. All will be explained. I'm about to open your cryopod. Give me a few moments and I'll answer your questions." the disembodied voice said again.

Hamilton had no real choice in the matter. He loosened his shoulders and leaned back into the mould that fit to his body oh-so perfectly. Tenno. Voice lady kept mentioning Tenno. What was a Tenno? About that time, Hamilton realized that he was covered in something. He had just enough room in his cryopod to bring his hand to his face, and what he saw shocked him. As opposed to seeing his pale, hairy arms, he found himself gazing at a strange sort of exoskeletal armor. Purple with red accents. What's going on here? he asked himself. With that question, everything came flooding back to Hamilton.

He was a Tenno. An elite warrior bred, raised, and programmed for battle. He had mastered many forms of battle, all kinds of weaponry, including and especially the blade. He wore a Loki-class armor called a War... War-something. He couldn't put his finger on it at the moment. He remembered very little right now, and delving any deeper into his mind ushered a reaction of falling off a cliff, so he decided to stop thinking about his past altogether. And right now, it seemed tactically sound to focus on the present situation; that of which he was terribly uninformed of.

Voice lady spoke up again. "Alright, Tenno. Time to meet the world." With a low hissing noise, the cryopod opened, practically dumping Hamilton out onto the floor. As he ungracefully tumbled out onto floor, he noticed something that would be the target of his ire for his whole stay in the Orokin Tower: Everything was white and glowed. The room looked like it was designed to burn people’s eyes out, and if it wasn’t, it should have been.

“Guh...” Hamilton grumbled. “Where can I turn the Bloom off?”

“Now is no time to be complaining, Tenno.” Voice lady said. “I am Lotus. I have reawakened you for a higher purpose. First, we need to get you comfortable with your setting. I know all about you, Thomas Hamilton. Born into a rich family in London, UK. Both your parents, Arnold Hamilton and Maria Hamilton, were killed as targets of assassins, leaving you with your uncle to take care of you. Your uncle served his part in kick-starting the Tenno and Warframe program, and after you showed genuine interest, you volunteered to join the fellow warriors who were selected out of paramilitary factions due to their strength, accuracy, speed, or cunning. You could have chosen to be a rich, powerful man, but instead sought power through the Warframes; a solid choice if you ask me, because after the coup d'etat from General Hayek Grineer, most of Earth’s population was destroyed or converted. But it didn’t stop there. A powerful trade group made it’s way onto the scene, calling themselves Corpus, now have emerged as a new power. Right now, your brother and sister Tenno are being captured in their cryopods for experiments and analyzation.”

Hamilton had all this to take in. “I see. So, basically, what you’re saying is ages have passed since I was last conscious and the rise and fall of factions and nations has taken place, not to mention that most of my family and friends are long dead?”

    Silence.

“Yes. Unfortunately, that is the setting you are now in.” Lotus solemnly admitted.

“Unfortunate?” Hamilton replied with a smirk. “Nobody knows me, nobody knows of me; I have complete anonymity. I can be myself or anyone I wish.”

“Well,” Lotus chimed. “not everyone who knows you is dead...”

Hamilton’s smirk disappeared. Cold sweat began to form on his brow. His heart palpitated faster and faster, reaching a dangerous pace. A single tear began to form in his right eye.

“Oh good God...” he croaked. “Not my team...”

  9. I whole-heartedly agree to player rooms and such.

However, I'd like to see them be purchased with not only platinum, but also credits. As someone pointed out above, perhaps having rooms cost a certain amount of credits would be nice. Along with decorations costing credits too. I can see something like this:

Platinum purchase - Comes with a preset amount of rooms and decorations that can be fiddled around with, and just enough of each to make each room special and unique and make the base/home large enough for a good-sized clan.

Credit purchase - You have to purchase rooms individually, as well as decor.

I think something like that would work well to appease both those who wish to pay for in-game items and those who don't wish to put one cent into the game.

  10. 'Ello, ladies and gentlemen.

TopHatRaptor here with just a little idea that I'd figure I'd throw around with ya'll.

    GRAPPLING

Now before you start shaking your heads or even crying, hear me out. I've thought a good while about this, and I hope you'll see where I'm coming from.

Basically, this would be a system that would mainly be used in stealth, but also has it's uses in other aspects of gameplay. There would be two kinds of grappling; let's call them stealth grappling and assualt grappling. Now take note, because these two have different parameters that must be met in order to carry out a successful grapple. Let's take a look at both of them in detail.

Stealth Grappling - To perform a successful stealth grapple requires a few conditions to be met, and with some improvements to the stealth system coming in future, I think this could improve the "awesome" factor of performing a stealth kill. In order to perform a stealth grapple, you must be:

    1. Undetected by your enemy

    2. Behind your target

    3. Within melee range of your target

Once all these requirements are met, you can perform a stealth grapple. Now, let's touch base on what the heck a grapple is. The way I invision it, you grab your target from behind and perfom a very quick animation that instantly kills the target. We don't want long, tiresome animations that disrupt the fast-paced nature of this game. Depending on what you have equipped, the animation might change. Noteable changes would be caused by Pistols, Melee weapons, and even your warframe. For example:

You're playing as a Volt with your starting loadout equipped. You manage to sneak up behind an enemy, and perform a successful stealth grapple. Now you have four animations that could happen, and each completely random. You could either A) simply snap the neck of your target, B) whip out your pistol and execute the target, C) because you are a Volt, you electrify the target and fry him, or D) impale the target with your Skana.

Each of these instantly kills the target and generates no alarm, unless, of course, another unit sees you. Each animation would change depending on which Warframe you play as, (EG: Rhino simply crushes enemy's head, Frost puts palm against back of enemy's head and generates an icicle, impaling his skull, etc.) and the melee weapon you have. Some weapons and warframes might not have special animations, so you might be limited to example A) and B) with certain loadouts. For example, a Bo staff isn't sharp enough to impale someone with, and a Fragor is too large and clunky to be whipped out quickly for a silent and quick kill. On the other hand, certain weapons, like a dagger, will trigger different animations. Instead of impaling a target like a sword would have, the dagger causes you to slit the enemy's throat, killing it instantly.

Now for the other type of grappling:

Assualt Grapplling - Assault grappling works differently from stealth grappling, in that it's supposed to be used for heat-of-battle situations rather than assassination attempts. With assault grappling, you must meet the following:

    1. The enemy must be alerted of your presence

    2. The target must have less than 50% health

    3. You must be facing your target

When grappling an enemy with assault grapple, you hold the enemy in front of you, using him as a shield for incoming fire. You are completely covered from the front, but you still can take damage from behind or from the sides that aren't covered. You can also fire from behind the meat shield, though your accuracy will take a nosedive. At any time you can kill the grappled target, which employs the same animations as noted in the stealth grappling section. You may also move with the target, albeit, very slowly.

However, assualt grappling drains your energy rather quickly, ensuring that no one gets to walk around with an invicible front-end through the whole mission. If you run out of energy with an enemy grappled, the enemy will break free, deal damage, and cause stun, making you open to attacks. The same goes for attempting to grapple an enemy with higher than 50% health; the target will rebuff your advance and cause knockback or stun. This means you want to be very careful about when you grapple and who you grapple, as grappling the wrong person at the wrong time could result in your death (just like real life!).

TL;DR: There is no TL;DR. Go back and read the whole thing.

Beyond simply looking cool, and adding a little spice to your playstyle, I think it can allow for stealthier gameplay, a fun little challenge (see how many grapple kills you can get), and just being an entertaining game mechanic in general. So now I open this to the community:

What do you think? Is this a good idea? Critique and suggestions welcome

  11. Top of the morning, evening, afternoon, and everything in between to ya'.

Name's TopHatRaptor, and I'd like to say hello. I'm a dude from a little beach town in California, and I'm looking forward to fighting alongside ya'll. Figured I might as well join the community; I do love forums so.

    Well, see ya in-game.
