  1. New melee system will be useless. It can be "beautiful", "imbalanced", "glitchy" etc - but it will be useless in real game.

Let's make it clean - Warframe is TPS with simplified combat mechanics. Game balance designed for a gunfight, and also has other problems on its own.

    Main problems:

    1) Ranged weapon master race.

It's quite simple: Risk vs. Reward. Ranged weapons have a minimal risk, but highest reward. You can kill enemies one by one from cover, or kite infected without the slightest danger. Moreover, ranged weapon has the highest damage, can penetrate obstacles (modding) and has a large reserve of ammunition (it can be replenished during the mission).

    2) Powers.

Press 4 to win. To be invisible. To be immortal. To wipe room. To control room. To be contined...

    3) Game balance.

    a) СС problems - inevitable and irresistible control effects.

    b) Tank vs late game - insane damage from high level enemies can easy kill any tank. It's fight of glasscannons.

с) Lack of combat etiquette - enemies can freely attack you in crowds, without any hindrances.

What need to be done for REAL Melee 2.0:

    1) Absolute block and parry system.

Not DMC, but Jedy Knight and Metal Gear Rising battle type.

    a) Bullet deflection - when you hold melee weapon, all "light" ranged attacks reflected automaticly. If you attack, it's changed to damage reduction - signifcantly lowered ranged damage.

    b) Absolute block - special block can hold any sort of attack, defend from any CC effect.

    c) Parry and counter - time-stricted action. Can open enemy for deadly/very strong (for bosses and leaders) counterattack, return "heavy" projectile to sender.

"Light" = bullets, plasma projectiles, etc. - any "usual" shot.

"Heavy" = rockets, Milter's disks, etc.

"Irresistible" = sniper's shot - сan not be parried or reflected, blockable only.

Block must work in ANY direction, not just in front.

    2) Enemy diversity.

All fractions adopted to modern warfare. They create new armor, shields and tactics to counter gunfire. What's why Way of the Sword is still alive - Tenno sword can beat unbeateable.

    3) HP, tanking and CC system rework.

    a) Rework of defence - defence modules with better effect. Real tank must miltigate some damage even on high levels, even from most dangerous enemies.

    b) Stricted CC - all control effects can be avoided or blocked. There isn't any "insta-AOE-knockdown" or "infinity-chain-of-stuns". Handspring for free.

    "You just wanna faceroll Pluto/T3/Nightmare!"

I want a chance to use my sword against Grineer squad or pack of Ancients/Chargers. Without the risk of being killed on the spot/controlled to the death.

    4) Stricked ammunition for ranged weapon.

Each weapon should be limited to 1-3 clips. Supply of ammunition should be significantly limited. Ammo drops must die.

On Defence/Survival Lotus give you ammo drops.

That's the way to balance everything without nerfs. Use your gun now, or keep ammo for future boss? Kill this crowd with rocket launcher or take down armored leader without melee battle? Choices and decisions.

    5) Stricked powers.

CD's and "rage" concept - you can gain energy only for damage/kill, melee give more energy.

P.S. "It's too difficult, you want to destroy the fun!"

I want VIABLE melee - not just funny toy. And simple shooter with unlimited powers can't have viable melee - there is just no way. It's question of game balance - every "melee orientated game" must strict ranged weapons.

    P.P.S. Solved problems:

    1. Ranged weapon master race 50%.

а) Melee weapon is much stronger now.

    2. Game balance 20%

    a) Block/parry system is created (but not completed).

    b) CC effect can be blocked (part of them cannot be blocked).

Absolutely agree, well, almost absolutely, since I also like ranged. Especially now, after M2.0 is live, is fun but pointless. You simply would not relay on a melee weapon in any mission.

  2. Got this couple of things that I find beyond frustrating, and I heard quite a few people in general speaking about those so I thought to mention it here.

(I have no idea if there was a million posts about this, but since absolutely nothing changed I am guessing there wasn't)

    1st - The connection / disconnecting

So there's seriously nothing, I mean, nothing, that can be done regarding reconnecting to the mission you were just disconnected from? I find that the biggest problem in doing any mission that lasts 30 min or more is not about failing the mission, but fearing the connection loss. think that in almost a year of play I manage to do only 2 missions that lasted an hour, without any DC issues.

Anyway, I am sure I am beating the dead horse on this one, but still.

    2nd - The chat

While I immensely love and appreciate the way kick-bot works to keep the channels on the topic, I absolutely hate the right side of it, with player names. The way it refreshing itself and keeps scrolling itself upwards whenever you try to find a name there. And yes, I know, "why don't just just /w a person" right? Yeah, easy to say, less to do so with some of those names.

As insane idea (I am sure someone must have mention this before as well), somewhat popular with loads of MMOs... the ability to click on the name directly, in the chat window, not on the name list? Would save a lot of time and/ or frustration.

    3rd - The Marketplace

I think I've read or heard on Dev-stream that there will be no Marketplace. Something about it "not being personal". A question...have you ever met people?  I would give money so I can do my trading in the cold and sterile environment of a Marketplace where I see the price, decide and get on with it. Not to mention the insanity of trading involving dealing with the Chat window from the 2nd issue or any "WTS yo fat momma" and such.

    4th - The Stealth missions

Man, I was excited about stealth, not just because Loki Master Race! but, you know, Ash and Banshee. And fair enough, the first bit you can do with moderate stealth, although you aren't really going to silent kill anyone on Nightmare Ceres missions, but ok. So you off the Wardens, kill traps, open gates, stop kill switch and free the prisoner...and then you die...a lot. And he dies. Because everything one the map radar vision zoom on you and him, no mater what you do. So once you do the stealth part, you must escape AND defend the prisoner, that has an AI of a Skyrim horse (do not give him a weapon, for the love of god, cause he'll try to fight). So even if you go invisible (Loki Master Race!) he will die and that's that.

There's probably room for some improvement here.

(The way I did at least 70 points of last event was in group of two Rhinos, Frost and Nova. So much about stealth.)

    --- This concludes my *@##$ing section ---

    Apart from that, GG DE.

  3. Name Suggestion: Infested polyp

Appearance: Amorphous infestation growth, somewhat resembling a barnacle, but without a hardened shell. Soft inner limb, much like bloodworm mouth, extends and retract in irregular pulses, unless agitated.

Behaviour: Generally being a polyp/ barnacle, so immobile. Found in larger groups. When a foreign entity comes to its vicinity the inner limb springs forth and emits a pulse (electrical/ poison/ viral/ corrosive) toward the intruder. Infestation flora with a purpose. A mine field. On death they release a spore cloud that in turn generates more infestation.

Environmental Restrictions: None. Ideally, first thing the infested spores do is spawn a bunch of environmental conditions, converting everything into infestation. These guys grow soon after. Floors, walls and celeings.

  4. Yeah, I was totaly bored with my 5 Formad Synapse. Like I was bored with Brakk. I hear that people with Strun Wrath are still going strong though. Please add more utery useless and non fun weapons, like whips or maybe a cat launcher. There's always room for another insanely unimaginative Prime version of a Frame, those are always nice.

Was fun while it lasted. Good show.

  5. Yeah, same here, no "Red crits" trough shield any more. If it's a bug then you're not alone. And I don't think it's just colour related, since it doesn't feel as OP as before. I don't mind that, just didn't read anything about Synapse+Vold shield changes.

  6. This has to be stated.

The sole reason many of us aligned with either of two insidious factions is to gain their resources, thus advancing our arsenal.

An arsenal that will be used in eradicating each and all of them.

Many of us used their skills and ammo on "friendly" targets as well as the enemies.

Why could we not enter this conflict as a clearly superior force and claim our slumbering comrades ourselves is beyond me.

The notion that Lotus might be corrupted or with her own stake in this is not all that far fetched.

  7. Ok, yes, I am well aware that it takes longer to do 100 missions, I have read about it. All I was asking is if the missions will be repeatable. Thank you for answering from experience.

Objectively speaking, this is a very bad call, regarding MMO style, from my situation, since I didn't have the chance to do the first 5 missions, and from other perspective, people that are yet to go to work/ school/ sleep won't be able to do others.

    Anyway, thanks for the info.

And I will disregard whatever you say right about now, HUNTER, since, in all honesty, you have no idea about the issue at hand.

  8. Wow, dat comment. No, actually, not really. Not even sure how did you conclude that from the text above, but fine. I want to be able to play, as stated. But it's not really possible if all missions are done before I can sit and play.

First missions are done and gone, and you aren't able to do them again. So I was wondering if they will again be available at some later stage in the story.

  9. Ok, more of a question that a whine.

It states that the event (The Gradivus Dilemma) starts on Wednesday, Oct.23 and ends at Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Does that means that there will be some sort of an counter attack, mainly placed there with people that can't really play 24/7?

I mean, this will be rather lame event if this isn't the case (the event concept is great but execution is appalling). If you work, sleep, in school or generally not by the computer form the early morning, this is fun to watch but you can all but forget any kind of a reward from it.
