[Esc Key won't work]

After doing a bit of XP farming on Helene, Saturn, I wanted to open up my menu and then pressed on the Esc key which is supposed to open up a menu, but it didn't. Can someone help find the reason?

 

Edit: My keyboard was low on batteries. I fixed it (I'm sure I did)
