  1. I was able to do some recovered missions, but have since stopped receiving them. I have every bounty for this week completed and have re-logged, restarted, and done multiple missions and still no recovered missions have appeared. I'm only at rank 19 so I certainly haven't completed all of them.

Edit: Additionally, when doing the "mine 6 rare ores in orb vallis" mission, thyst or zodian gained in a double ore sometimes counted and sometimes didn't.

I can see where you're coming from with this, and I racked my brain on it, so I'm curious: how you would suggest strengthening Tectonics? We already have frames like Gara, Frost, and to an extent other lock-down-oriented (Or at the very least, area control) frames like Vauban and Limbo. We don't just want another wall, or a dome, Right? Making the wall scale in size off Strength/range was a possibility, but again, its just another wall at that point. Other frames can do that job a lot better.

Generally, I think reworks are more feasible when you can keep all the animations and models the devs worked so hard to create, but I just can't see that with tectonics. Thus, the change I'm about to suggest will be a little unrealistic.

Put Rumblers on his second ability, make them 50 energy. Dont think anybody will really disagree with that. Tectonics is now Atlas's 100 energy ultimate. Base health moves from 3750 to 5000, holding the ability charges rubble into it to give it armor, maxing at 600. Instead of a wall, Tectonics now creates a dome (a little similar to Khora?) centered around Atlas ( I know this steals Frost's thunder a bit but frost can cast multiple balls as well as get his globe up to 1,000,000 Max ehp while Atlas's will hover under 100,000 generally). Finally, and this is the kicker, allies inside the bubble gain grey health. Damage immunity, status effect immunity, the works. This might actually give him some niche usage against eidolons. However, you cannot shoot through the dome by any means, including aoe guns like the tonkor. Abilities of course still work, and nullie bubbles will drain it instead of instantly destroying it. Recasting from inside will create a boulder ( like the existing one just bigger) with a slight suction. Enemies hit are petrified, pulled along, and dealt 1500 base damage (affected by melee mods). Enemies petrified by the boulder drop double rubble.

This isn't my most well thought out idea, nor my most likely, but I still hope something like this gets added.

Remove his 2nd ability Tectonics, and replace it with his current 4th, Rumblers

Gotta say I heavily disagree with this. Atlas, the Titan who holds up the world, is a hybrid offensive/defensive frame. If anything, DE needs to double down on his protective capabilities instead of neutering them. Are tectonics weak? Absolutely. But they should be strengthened, not outright removed.

Having more of his abilities scale off of rubble is a great idea, but as of now piling up rubble is extremely expensive energy wise and it is this aspect that should be fixed first before expanding on its benefits.

I don't see the point of nerfing Petrify's duration, considering how most people already reduce Atlas's Duration stat a lot. Unless when you mean "at most", the 7 seconds is the lowest it can go.

Oh yeah for sure there's no point in nerfing Atlas in any way, but I feel that the incredibly long duration is what's keeping DE from making it a cheap, spammable ability like it should be. I may be biased but the way I use petrify, I'm not gonna notice the difference between 5 seconds and 60

Sorry for me it might have everything to do with Nezha having so far infinite shield with his 3. So I feel like anything similar like rubble, ice armor from frosts augment  to his 4 as well should be able to get really high to help mitigate dmg from the scaling enemies.

Is Nezha now tankier than Atlas too? Dam, I was hoping he could at least be top 10 tanks lol. But yeah personally I have fun with Atlas and if I'm comparing him to other frames, well, atleast he's not Vauban

  6. 8 minutes ago, (XB1)DJoker87 said:

The cap on his rubble is what made him still feel kinda worthless to me. Rework made him fun sure but the rubble is non existent if you get it as the enemy scales up they destroy his sad little rubble armor fast as hell or immediately. Even though I didnt do much testing with him rubble cap kept him on the shelf.

There's no denying his rubble armor is weak when most of his tankines comes from armor in the first place. However I'm not looking to straight power up Atlas, just have 'working as intended'

  7. Let me just preface this by saying that I like where Atlas is at, and I thoroughly enjoy his current play style. He's not particularly tanky, nor is his damage nuke-capable, but he is decent at both and supplements this with cc and protection via bulwark. He's one of the few frames where you'll be using all of his abilities together. However, there's no doubt he suffers from a myriad of issues which end upmaking him extremely unpopular. The rework added rubble, which hoped to add a semblance of scaling to his survivability, but the problem is that it does the opposite. Because of how petrify works, the higher the enemy density, the greater the rubble gain. However as enemies get stronger you lose health faster, thus decreasing the amount of rubble gain. This goes against the purpose of rubble and should not happen.

Make rubble heal AND gain rubble at the same time. Tanking abilities should become more powerful under pressure, not less. That defeats the purpose.

ALSO, considering how petrify is meant to be used in his kit (petrify > landslide > repeat), its stats are completely backwards:

          - reduce petrify's duration to 7 seconds AT MOST. 20s is Heking ridiculous, and completely unnecessary when you're going to obliterate them with punches immediately after.

          - reduce cost to 50 energy, maybe less. Building rubble requires liberal use of petrify, which right now is incredibly difficult without an efficiency build. Harrow has a similar ability for 25 energy, Atlas's should not be triple the expense.

The following are changes I would like to see, but don't view as absolutely necessary:

          - I love my Rumblers Leon and Curtis to death, but even they know they're not worth 100 energy. 75 at most.

          - don't force a glitchy loot physics mechanic on rubble, it serves no purpose. Just have it apply the moment the petrified enemy dies.

Next are unnecessary changes that I want anyway:

          - increase bulwark size. It's just so small as it is.

          - there are some enemies who can't be targeted by landslide. Certain orbs for example, as well as stalker last time I checked. Maybe there's a design purpose behind this. Don't care. Lemme punch.

           - increase rubble/health gain to 75 and 100 on landslide. This is just me being salty about how similar yet more powerful wukong's new defy is.

Well, for starters, regardless of how the New War pans out, we're never going to be "independent".

We are, at the end of the day, just footsoldiers, carrying out the orders of our superiors. There will always be someone telling us what to do...or at least giving us choices to make (would be nice to have some mission branches, where we can decide one way or another).

I would like to see our Operators having more dialogue, but we are always going to be taking orders from someone.

I disagree with this. Every major quest has contained elements of us "freeing" ourselves from control. Freedom from Vor, from the dream, from transference limitations, from the Queen's, from orokin limitations, and finally from our own dependence on Lotus. Considering even Teshin got his "freedom arc", I find it highly likely that the Lotus will also free herself, making the choice between Margulis, Natah, and the Lotus.

Yes we don't design and plan our own missions, but we do make the choice of going on them.

The final ball and chain we have to face is most likely the man in the wall.

  10. Just an idea, but I'm hoping that after we save/retrieve/defeat Natah in the New War quest we sort of prove our independence, "grow up" if you will. Basically just show that we can fight for our own beliefs. What this will mean, ideally, is that we don't need lotus as our mission voice-over, instead being able to choose who vocalizes the objectives. Voices could include Lotus, Teshin, Ordis, a faction leader (offering unlock?), or our own tenno. Thoughts?

Edit: it would also be cool to have your clan's warlord tenno voice mission status. Or possibly random tenno from within your squad. Really anything to show off operator fashion 🙂

I think we should properly describe the difference between exalted weapons and abilities that use weapon mods. They are completely different since whenever you use actual exalted weapon your other weapons are NOT accessable. for Gara, Khora, Atlas, you simply use you ability once then carry on with normal gameplay with your weapons.. For exalted weapons, whenever you turn them On you use only that weapon until you turn it off or run out of energy. You cant use your melee or guns with none of these - exalted blade, hysteria, Peacemaker, Artemis bow, wukong's staff or Titania's 4. therefore they are in completely separate class.

You can't use guns when punching as Atlas. Or melee weapons for that matter. He is effectively "replacing" his kit with his punch for the duration of the strike. Your point is a question of duration and energy economy. That isn't meaningful when discussing the possibility of being modded separately.

I might understand if one made the point that Atlas's Landslide doesn't function at all like a real melee weapon cause of lock-on, not like Wukong's staff or Valkyr's Hysteria, but then again Peacemaker has that as well. 😛

I'd be okay with this if they gave us Landslide riven mods. Otherwise, please no, that'd be a huge nerf.

As for this... yeah I've got a cool melee riven as well, but that doesn't mean I want to sacrifice versatility in weapon choice/build for it. Properly modded, Landslide does just fine in Sortie level content with or without rivens.

I want Nova Umbra with scarf. :clem:

Ah ye, I guess people will miss the unique looks. That could really be solved with a gradual release of skins though. Even then, I'm pretty sure it breaks the lore as I think Ballas learned from his mistake with Excal Umbra and made sure to cut out the rest of the warframe's memories entirely, meaning Excal Umbra was the first and the last to be made

  13. Let us Awaken our frames!

Now, there's a lot of debate going around about the new update, from the introduction of exclusive Tau polarities, to the power of Umbral mods combined with the uniqueness of Excalibur Umbra, to the wonkiness that is his updated passive (A.K.A. the new "power" that came with this quest), and I'd like to make a suggestion as to where Warframe should go next.

I'd like to start off with saying that in no way am I disappointed with this update. Rather, the sentience of warframes finally being confirmed and added into the game makes me extremely excited for a mechanic I didn't even know I wanted, and the extra power of the Umbral mods is just what I wanted on certain builds! Needless to say, the main problem is that there is only one Umbra to date. Only one frame that can truly make USE of these new mods and exhibit the sentience we now know all warframes contain.

What I DONT want is another version of frames. Excalibur Umbra was an exception as Excalibur Prime is unavailable to the general public, so they made a new, separate, frame with the same stats to make up for that. However, getting one Umbra frame every 3 months is not something that should happen. Umbras are no longer just a stat upgrade like primes, but are conduits of a new cool ability that exists in the game NOW.

I already have to wait a year for Atlas prime, I'm NOT waiting 4 more for Umbra.

Instead of creating a whole new line of frames, there should be some sort of farm-able object obtainable only after completing The Sacrifice. When installed on a warfame, you will awaken the memories of that model's past life, like Excalibur gaining memories of his life as Isaah's father. No need to create a full-length, cinematic quest to explain the background for each warframe! Some audio logs and a codex entry will suffice for that. "Awakening" your warframe's memories will allow it to move when in operator mode like Umbra, and will also allow it to be formaed with Tau polarities. I'm not sure how one should obtain this device, but it could really be anything (maybe the parts drop randomly from any relic or something, higher level relics giving higher drop rates, for example) as long is it's sufficiently difficult.

My reasoning is this: Warfames having sentience is a BIG DEAL. In fact, it was the whole point of the entire Sacrifice quest! Granted, the AI will need some work, and additional benefits might be required to make it really awesome, but having Warframe and Tenno fighting side by side is frickin cool. It's the new "power" unlocked in this update, which means it shouldn't be exclusive to a single frame. When the next update comes out, or the the next quest update at least (likely after Venus, but possibly at the same time depending on how long they work on it) a couple different things could happen:

    A. Sentient warframes have no part to play and are completely unnecessary in the new quest ( lame, and undesirable, though it seems likely )

    B. You're locked into playing Excalibur Umbra only ( this would suck... a lot )

    or

    C. They hold off on the next quest until every warframe has been umbraed ( very unlikely, and would take forever unless they got them out fast, which is doubly unlikely )

Unless of course they allow the quick and painless modification of a frame's sentient nature + ability to gain Tau polarities. People get what they want, Umbra stays unique, and DE doesn't have to pump out a whole new line of frames.

Thoughts? Criticisms? How SHOULD one go about awakening a warframe?

P.S. it'd be nice if they came out with Umbral Redirection, Umbral Streamline, Umbral Stretch, etc. and make it so that you can only equip three at a time as well. That way, they bring variety into the new, powerful builds.

  14. YES :clem:

    THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYU!

I know the team has put in a large amount of work, and I'm absolutely excited to play the new quest! May Warframe never stop growing!

I'm especially excited about the changes to exalted weapons, as it clears up so many problems regarding versatility towards weapon choice of certain frames, making sure we don't get pigeon-holed into using specific weapons whose builds line up with our exalted ones.

Will frames like Atlas, Khora, and Gara get the same treatment to their abilities too? I know they're not "technically" exalted weapons, but they are functionally the same, and still pigeon-hole us into using certain weapon builds, same as with Excal and the others. Plus, they're affected by riven mods, which makes no sense and screws with balance. Could these pseudo-exalted weapons get the same treatment too? Pretty please?

Regardless, thanks for all the hard work! can't wait to finish downloading!

  15. 46 minutes ago, NeithanDiniem said:

Psudo-weapons dont have any weapon to them. You do not wield them like a weapon, you move your hand, they appear briefly, and then disappear.

"press # to attack" vs. "press # then E/M1 to attack" isn't really that much of a difference, and is kinda besides the point.

The point is that they're functionally similar, if not the same.

Them being affected by your weapons mods carries the exact same problems that exalted weapons had. Namely, the ability and the weapon will need different mods, and if you do find a weapon that works with the same build, have fun only ever using that one weapon/weapon type.

Abilities and weapons are our bread and butter. Exalted or not, using the same mods means either bad bread or bad butter, and nobody wants that 😛

But like I said, the update isn't even out yet, so I guess I'll have to wait and see before getting TOO salty. Thanks for the info everyone!

  16. I mean, I understand the difference between an exalted weapon and a pseudo-exalted weapon, but my point was that the difference between them has absolutely nothing to do with whether they should be modded or not. Pseudo-exalted weapons are still affected by weapon mods, and will pigeon-hole a player's weapon choice just as much as a full on exalted weapon.

I thought the point of this rework was to prevent such a thing from happening, especially since mods on a weapon should not affect the warframe, as those abilities belong to said warframe.

As for Rivens, I don't agree that they should affect pseudo-exalted weapons in the first place, or exalted weapons. The point of rivens was to empower weak and unpopular weapons through the mechanic of disposition. Pseudo-exalted weapons have their own stats, so they should logically have their own disposition.

Don't get me wrong, I love Atlas to death, but I'd rather his strength be based on a consistent scale rather than earned through the cheese that is my plasma sword riven.

Ah well... guess I'll wait and see. Then complain like everyone else saying "still no separately modded landslide?" in every hotfix.

Titania's Dex pixia (not sure about her melee)

    Ivara's Artemis bow

    are going to be moddable

Was this confirmed by DE somewhere?

Also it frustrates me that some exalted weapons will be moddable while some will not. I just can't think of any reason why.

  18. I'm not sure if it was already mentioned in one of the devstreams/prime time/ twitter or whatever, but I was wondering if exalted weapons like Gara's Shattered Lash, Atlas's Landslide, and Khora's Whipclaw will be separately moddable in the upcoming exalted weapons update along with the others like primal fury and exalted blade.

I've heard some say that they won't, because they don't count as 'exalted weapons', but even if they don't have their own move-set they are still 'weapons summoned by warframe abilities' aren't they? It feels like it would be inconsistent if they were not included as they are as affected by mods as any other exalted weapon.

Unless there's a specific reason why they should be left out that I'm not aware of?

Ah. I see what you mean. I guess I would like to see more extraneous parts on an actual deluxe skin.

Problem is, there's so little Atlas fanart that it's hard to figure out what the community wants. The only other pictures I've seen that change Atlas's model are this:

    and this:

While the second one's sick I'm personally more a fan of the first with how beefy the artist made him.

You'd be surprised. Normal Atlas doesn't have this much rock or 'flesh' showing, and the deluxe still fits with his 'I rule rocks' theme.

    This ^

I've always felt that his look didn't really fit the theme of 'stone titan'. At least with this kind of deluxe he'll blend in with his rumblers and bulwark!

Might still be difficult to color though, huge sections of texture with very little overlap.

  21. Was looking around and didn't see anyone that had posted this particular art piece, so I decided to share this concept of a deluxe skin for Atlas.

THIS ISN'T MINE! Props go to Vince I. On ArtStation! The idea includes a deluxe skin for claws. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/gm5aL

    Spoiler

    vince-i-atlas-final-small.jpg?1516498447

Speaking of deluxe skins, is anyone else slightly frustrated with how some newer warframes get them so early on (Nidus and Inaros) even though their base form already looks great? I know deluxe skins are more passion projects by the devs than anythings else, but I can still be sad about the lack of love 😢

So... thoughts? How do you see Vince's concept working in game? Which frames are most in need of a deluxe skin due to their base shape being slightly wonky or hard to color? What kind of deluxe skin would you want to see for any of your more unpopular favorites, e.g. Hydroid, Limbo, Atlas, Equinox, and Wukong?
