  1. I realize this issue may not be as highly prioritized in North America, but I happen to be a European player (nordic, actually), and we have some countries in Europe who still have tariffs for internet traffic. This leads many users on these kinds of ISP's to throttle their upload speeds to limit how much bandwidth they're allowing (and thus limiting their costs). This leads to issues with ping matchmaking in many situations in Warframe, because I'm guessing (based on experience) the game currently only does a single pass of pings and you're not using bigger (actual game packets) to check the ping. Essentially, you're driving on the speed lane while testing the ping, and once you connect you're stuck in a traffic jam.

The majority of my games on European public servers are ones where I'm stuck behind doors, enemies are warping around, enemies dying 10 seconds after they run out of health, unable to switch into operator, grey rooms until I enter them, and so forth and so on. And yes, I'm not exaggerating when I'm saying the majority. More than 50% of my games are like this when I'm connecting to another host. That's with the lowest possible ping limit for connections as well. I can only imagine it would be even worse if I allowed more connections.

I have some suggestions on how to fix this. You've probably already thought of some or all of these, but it's just low on your priority list. I'm hoping that other European players will chime in with how important this is for public play. I basically just want to play with my friends as it is, as we can force the game into host mode for one of us in these cases, but it's hard when there's content like the liches that forces us into solo or public play. Anyway, onwards to my suggestions:

    1. Make the ping check more substantial. Check with bandwidth as well. Avoid the cases where you get a lucky ping, and delay the connection to the host for a few more seconds just to make sure the connection is stable and the bandwidth is fine from the host to each player.
    2. Allow players to opt-out of hosting games. This won't fix every case, but it can at least allow players who know what they're doing to force themselves into taking a client slot rather than host a game and make life miserable for others. They're fully aware of their throttled upload, and I sincerely doubt they want to host the game.
    3. Before you can even attempt to host a public game, make the player go through a rigorous ingame bandwidth and ping test in the menu. This can be done via proxies placed in each region. Once you succeed this test, you are certified as a host player and can host public games. This certification can be removed if your players are continuously experiencing connection issues.
    4. Have players answer simple "how was your connection this game?" questions after a game if you can't do it in any other way. Players who get consistently bad reviews on their hosting speeds can lose the above mentioned certification.

I'll be honest, I'm mainly just spitballing here, and some of these are worse than others, I'm sure. But the fact is something needs to be done. Public games are a menace right now because of the huge excess of players in Europe that simply don't have enough bandwidth to be hosts.

  2. My issue is that I end up with hosts that pay for their upload, so they strangle it to reduce costs. That means when the client sends a ping request to a host to check how things are, the packet it sends is small and is returned in the <100 ms I have set as my limit, but when I connect and a lot more data is being sent, I get 300-500 ms ping with spikes upwards 2000 ms. Completely unplayable.

Please limit players who are strangling their upload from hosting games. If they want to play public, have them join others.

  3. Effect of bug: Forever stuck in silence mode (like standing in a Nullifier bubble), unable to go into operator mode, your Shadows live forever (no decay).

Steps to replicate: I've been unable to reliably replicate this so far. I thought for sure it was simply having a Nullifier in your "buffer" and having him spawn his bubble on you before you finish channeling Shadows of the Dead, but using the simulacrum to spawn nothing but nullifiers dismissed this theory somewhat (unless the simulacrum handles things differently than in-game missions).

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

  4. If anything I think it's too high, or we're not being given enough focus per affinity. I think it's soulcrushingly difficult to max focus daily without running boosts.

Then again, I don't play more than an hour or so per day on average.

Speaking of my brother - he is stuck on Mars, he can't complete the Phobos junction (invasion mission on either grineer or corpus side). Finished it 3 times, game didn't register it once. I took him to Phobos then, so he could unlock Ceres junction (assault on Phobos). Game didn't register that either.

Me and my friend had the same issue. I got the credit, he did not. We swapped around so he was the leader of the group, and then he got the credit.

So it appears to be a bug with premade parties doing these. We had the same issue with Lith fissures btw.

  6. The only changes I would make would be;

    1) Leave the mobs that have spawned from the fissure up after you close it, allowing people to actually get the void traces despite people closing the rifts too fast, and

    2) Increase the drop chance for the rare parts. 10% from a fully boosted relic is too low. It should be closer to 50% when fully boosted.

  7. I highly recommend running something that can split your enemies, like a Valkyr ulting. Me and my friend (running Nekros) were able to consistently get 3 drops from every eximus. We averaged 40 traces per mission I'd say, with boost, with the occasional peak upwards 55 and the occasional dip downwards 25 (usually when the randoms we had with us closed it before all eximus were dead, or I wasn't able to cleave the eximuses).

Worth noting that we didn't particularly delay our rifts. We popped them in there until an Eximus spawned, split it, desecrated, then repeated. Stopped at 80-90%, cleared everything one last time, then closed the fissure.

  8. I was affected yet I didn't get the 40 free relics. Still missing 2 eras from each tier, with the exception of one or two that I've gotten from running various sabotage/survival/excavations since.

Am I the only one thus afflicted (being in the second group, yet not getting the 40 extra relics?)

The scramble for a new 'Draco' is kinda amusing.

Sadly, some of the players remind me of an addict doing whatever it takes to get that next hit. They even get extremely upset and lash out at the slightest indication of it getting taken away.

Y'all got anymore - yall got anymore of them dracos

I don't feel 'Draco' is even remotely necessary - been able to max items very quickly just doing fissures and etc. Perfect example of Different strokes for different folks, i guess.

How long does it take you to do 100k focus again?

So I believe those new Relics that were introduced aren't obtainable through the conversion.

Those who logged in after the hotfix (instead of before it) actually got them in their conversion. The rest of us, who were faster, are screwed because we'll forever be "behind" on those relics compared to all our other ones, who got distributed in a random fashion across the 5 other types.

There are things in there that aren't just temporary access either. Spira Blueprint, for example.
