  1. Preface; I realise many of these points have been raised before in other places, this is the position of myself and my clan, and a discussion of how the changes have affected us.

    First Point; The addition of a currency system for purchasing rarer drops is something many players have been clamoring about for a long time. Such an addition is a welcome change, however, it has been implemented in probably the worst possible way with the least benefit. New players DID need a stable means of accessing materials such as Reactors and Catalysts so as t progress them though the game, but in reality the Standing required to acquire these is locked behind endgame content to the extent that such a player would need to either be carried through the challenges or grind for multiple weeks PER Catalyst, which is absurd. Assume that an average player can't complete the Sortie at will, nor a Tridolon hunt. That leaves approximately 30K Standing per week if EVERY other challenge is completed at least once, ~40K if dailies are fortunate as well. That leaves a minimum of two weeks to get the ONE specific item you need, with maybe enough left for a helm. Given the level of grinding needed to complete all the challenges in that same time frame a player could have run some ~20 Alerts. Many of these would offer tangible rewards such as specific Nightmare mods, cosmetics, Endo (Which is probably the MOST needed resource required for progression, along with credits) and also Reactors and Catalysts themselves. Many of these rewards could be traded for Plat on the market if needed, also allowing players the option of earning in game currency to directly purchase said Reactors and Catalysts. Essentially, exchanging the Alert system for the Nightwave has stripped new players of the ability to acquire tangible rewards in a timely fashion. Previously it was random chance if an Alert would offer a rare item, but Endo and Credits were always useful at the least. Now, the Nightwave system largely limits what can be acquired until nearly the entire star map is complete, at which point the rewards are negligible at best, and for actual endgame players, really only the Umbral Forma matters.

    First and a Half Point; The first point is added insult to injury as the locations where such a system were sorely needed, such as farming bounties in Cetus and Fortuna have NOT received such a system. Many of us can relate to running specific missions dozens or hundreds of times to try and acquire a rare mod, such as Augur Secrets, or maybe an Eidolon Lens, items with absurdly low drop rates. My personal bugbear as an Archwing friendly player has been Sabot Rounds. These drop tables have desperately needed an overhaul or updated system, and adding some form of currency as an uncommon drop to the tables would have alleviated 90% of those issues. DE, please implement this change. Add faction specific currency similar to Ducats and let us buy rare drops directly. That way after a hundred runs, we'll at least likely have the currency we need, even if the mods themselves still have ridiculous 1% drop rates for a 10 minute mission. Take Path of Exile as an example; there are ZERO useless drop in Path. Drops have varying value, but EVERYTHING can amount to something useful given enough of it.

    Second Point; The star map is DEAD. Removing Alerts has outright killed the spontaneity of the world. Previously, even though I have near everything in the game,l I would still log in, run the game in the background and monitor recruit chat. If a new player needed help in an Alert, a taxi, or I just felt like running a mission, I could jump in and there was SOMETHING to do. Now, I've completed all the weekly challenges in a couple of hours, and I KNOW that nothing interesting will pop up for a week. The new players in the clan have almost exactly the same experience. Before, they could log in, and be excited at the possibility of that 15K credit bump, a random mission they knew would have other players they could join, or that rare drop that suddenly appeared with 100% success rate. The star map felt ALIVE, and now it's not. Alerts need to be restored ASAP, and if there was some realistic reason why they were taken out, we'd love to hear it. Eight hours of discussion have us scratching our heads. Also, the newbies have ALSO completed the weekly and daily challenges, and have nothing to show for it. Lots of grind, no reward, which feels terrible when you're trying to make progress. DE, not only have you removed MY endgame and community involvement, you've stripped the new clanners of the rewards they needed to incentivise play. You've also taken away their ability to earn Plat from trading anything but Ayatans and Rivens which are largely endgame, preventing them from working toward cosmetics or trading for themselves.

    Third Point; Lore. This SHOULD be a give or take factor, but really, it's just off. This game started as a grey world with questionable morailty. The Tenno were mercenary, often self serving, and frankly badass. We fought over Dark Sectors and fought in system wide wars based on which faction paid us best. RIP Brakk, you've done your time, let Pyrana take over. NOW, we have smarmy,  proselytising basement children and an incessant N'Orleans radio host rambling about being true to ourselves. The tone does not fit the setting, and represents a tremendous missed opportunity. How much richer would the story been if it were Red Veil contracting us to take out grineer dissidents they felt upset the balance? Steel Meridian fighting against a third faction that threatened to reveal them? At least give us a means of muting the Nightwave specifically, like silencing the basement child. As things stand, the constant interjection is immersion breaking and irritating. Please, can anyone explain why instead of solidifying in game presences and creating a cohesive universe, we got a talk show host with a speech impediment? For hell's sake, at least let her string solid sentences together.

    TL:DR;
    Please bring back Alerts, removing them has been a catastrophe after only 24 hours as there's already noticeably less community involvement, and the chance for a fun drop has been replaced by sheer grind.
    Please implement systems like those we've been requesting for years where they're actually needed, rather than stripping out content to push toward the focus of the week, e.g. "Complete 8 Plains Bounties". No-one appreciates having their cookie taken away and being told to eat someone else's leftovers.
    Please make changes so that the new content isn't complete within a couple hours, leaving nothing else to do. Perhaps make certain bounties repeatable, or tiered, so that there's a purpose to continuing. I could tolerate a second tier to "Kill 500 Enemies"; perhaps tier it to "Kill 1000, 10000, 100000 Enemies" at 50% of the original's value per tier. "Kill 10 Vomvalysts, Kill Teralyst, Kill Tridolon" would be equally easy. It needs to be accessible to new players, while also providing some relevance to long timers.

    Please fix the massive tone incongruities this new system has created. I don't want to be told how I. Get. Stuff. Done. I was ALREADY getting stuff done, and now there's less to do. Give me Red Veil ordering hits. Give me Cephalon Suda seeking data on unique flora. Give me New Loka requesting conservation captures. I can keep listing these things for hours, I get paid to write plots, I'll even do it for free for you. Please.

    DE, please, if you genuinely care about your game, consider the ramifications the changes made will have on the player base. You've taken away the main methods my older players have of engaging with the community, stripped my new players of the most means to make meaningful progression, and you've broken everyone's immersion. There are so many ways to introduce a system like this that are more flavourful, more purposeful, don't strip content away, and don't close players out of your game.

  2. Failed three times today due to this. Zero drop pods landing, ships flying FAR outside of the control zone to drop troops, it's kind of like troops are bugged not to spawn within the zone itself, but the meter still goes down. The mission needs to be changed so the meter only drops IF an enemy is in the control zone, not just constantly.

  3. I've moved back so the wall and perspective are more obvious, but this Drone is 52 metres out of bounds. The "escort" distance is obviously 50, meaning this drone cannot move. Also, take note that those are Grineer on the other side of the forcefield.dv4ZBYz.jpg

    THIS enemy is in a subterranean cavern, well outside of the objective zone, but it apparently needs to be killed to clear the area. To do so, I'd have to run half a kilometre away and back again in less than ten seconds, or "abandon" the objective.s58QC3J.png

  4. Similar problem here. Achievements from the early game don't synchronise with steam; while I can gain them in game, the trigger to activate the steam equivalent seems to be missing. Ones in particular I've notcied are;

    Control Freak

    Hats off to you!

    No Witnesses

    Polarize This

    Polarize That

    Ride the Wave

    Saviour of Mercury

    Saviour of Venus

    Saviour of Sedna

    The Camera Adds 10 Pounds

    In short, most new achievements added in recent updates, in my case, anything post ~U16 at a guess. I'm sure I'll notice more appear as I keep playing, but those I can confirm as of this moment.

  5. As other players have mentioned, it would be nice if Ember was a bit faster, however, I call issue with both the mechanic and appearance of the new World on Fire. I don't mind the loss of Overheat for a damage multiplier; that seems well enough in the theme of the frame, and I'd rather frames required different play styles than were identical. HOWEVER, WoF affecting three random targets instead of all in range not only makes it's total damage output pretty low, but it's also incredibly inconsistent. Far too often I see enemies at range getting pinged while the ones next to me wail away untouched. I've also got to admit, I don't like the new visual. It DOES suit the new mechanic, but visually it's inexplicable and confusing, not to mention the constant geysers of flame make it ridiculously hard to see what I'm shooting at. At least with the previous WoF, while it didn't always kill things, I could finish them off with gunfire. Now I have mediocre damage, AND my entire team is reduced to blind-firing at targets.

    In short, while I think the changes are mostly fine and at the discretion of DE, please return WoF to it's previous state. The new mechanics are unpopular, and people aren't bothering to search for Ember Prime due to it being generally obselete and visually annoying. At least previously I felt Prime Access was giving me something that looked cool... Now I just feel cheated, given I can't even see what the game looks like while using it.
