Why? Because, the goal post will keep shifting, people who whine about Spores mechanic being OP today, will move to the next most OP thing once Spores hits the nerf bucket. Probably first going down the list of other DPS mechanics, then later shifting to OP tanking and stealth mechanics (though, I have been around here long enough to have seen people already ask for nerfs on certain stealth and tank and mobility mechanics even though they have not yet killed Spores)

But some people would want everyone to play one way and no other way else. In the name of pseudo-diversity. If all frames are good at all things, then in reality there is no point getting any of that 40 because just getting 1 can carry you through the whole game. Why bother farming or even saying this game has progression at that point?

Yes! You are finally seeing the light. We are playing an evolving game, warframes and weapons get left behind and eventually updated to a more up to day, and in my opinion much better format. Saryn is a relic, it was broken from day one, it doesn't fit neither the current game nor the current frame designs, a lot of which are a blast to play because they actually require player to actively play them.

how is having a niche bad design? in any game with a roster of characters/suits/archetypes, there are always roles or niches that a specific player-chosen character plays. saryn's just happens to be killing stuff in limited spaces (she works well on star chart defense-type missions too, not just ESO), and warframe happens to be a game where you kill lots of stuff by teaming up with other people (or solo if you choose). it's not even like you're competing for drops or rewards by killing the most. if every frame could do everything just as well as any other, what's the point in having nearly 40 different frames in a 99% pve game? (sidetrack: jeez, just realised that's a lot of frames..)

it's bad because there is no diversity. Sure there are 40 choices, but if these choices are viable in their niche and nowhere else, that is an issue.

re high level enemies: just like how much you enjoy ESO

Where did you get that idea, I hate SO and ESO with a passion, ever since I farmed Khora there when she came out. If you got there with anything but Saryn then enemies die the moment they spawn and you don't get to do anything, and if you go there as a Saryn .... well it is the same except you do get to nuke occasionally. That's pretty much where my conviction that Saryn in it's current state is a garbage frame comes from.

some people like to do endurance runs and find the best builds to go as far as they can. figuring out synergies and getting the biggest numbers possible by using the game's systems is how they enjoy the game. it takes a fair bit of dedication and knowledge, and that's their idea of "challenging content", so stop telling others how they should play their game.

I most definitely not telling that part of community to stop doing what they are doing, just merely pointing out that reaching lvl 9999 is not a good measure to judge a frame against.

Don't you see the problem with your own answer? Even after the armor changes Saryn still is not getting to level 1000 let alone 9,999. And saying level 9,999 is not "rich" - many youtube vids are showcasing this benchmark now since the armor changes... its more common than you think.

What is the problem with my answer? Why would we even care if Saryn can or cannot reach lvl 1000 when lvl 160 is what the intended game design more or less is. There is a dedicated part of the community that challenges itself on finding ways to push the game to the limit and they pick the best tools for that, and more power to them. We are talking about the core of the game, where a large portion of the community plays, that the place where Saryn is broken as hell.

She is a DPS Warframe, with a niche practical application, that does not have the ability to dominate where other warframes do. She does not need a nerf, her thing is clearing small rooms at mid-tier content and eso. The problem is, mid-tier content is populated alot by mid-tier players who have never seen a level 9,999 and probably rarely if ever tried profit taker - in otherwords, in the main, those who call for Saryn nerfs really have no clue as to what the higher-tier challenges are in Warframe that she simply cannot particpate and survive in.

That's like the whole point. Don't you see the problem with your own answer, a frame that single-handedly ruins a game mode while being useless everywhere else. It basically screams bad design.

And lvl 9999 yeah that's rich, the whole reason we were stuck with the infinite leveling armor up till now was because the initial game design didn't consider enemies above lvl 70 or there about. DE just never prevented players from going that high. Anything above lvl 160 ish is not high tier content it just an exercise in how much one can break the game.

i was just railing against op's nonsense logic. i have no problem with anyone getting whatever % damage with anything as long as we complete the mission. if we all had fun, all the better. if some of us had less fun, either figure it out or just accept that with rng and randomness and life in general, one can't have fun all the time. asking game devs to nerf something just because you chose a certain path but others are having more fun or getting bigger numbers is petty.

That is pretty selfish point of view though. The issue here is not really that people having fun or not, the issue here is that if you want to create a semblance of progression in a game making challenging content is important, but how to balance that content when a frame like Saryn can mop the floor with pretty much anaything? Baseline the content on Saryn and no other frame will be able to compete. I mean how many frames can really reliably push zone 8 in ESO solo? Mirage maybe? Ember could probably if it weren't for that 4th ability gating. Did DE even intend for ESO to be playeable solo?

I mean look at the state of the game, why bother using CC or support when you can just play with half a brain off and still have enemies disolve a football field away. Nukers are getting nerfed bacause it is the best thing for promoting a diverse gameplay and a long term health of the game.

  6. In terms of stats previously we had (very roughly) status balanced vs crit, damage vs. speed. Now that most status effects stack it feels like slower hitting weapons are being left behind. Crit is balanced vs. speed just fine since it scales of weapon damage, but status is not. I think DE should consider giving an additional boost to status chance of weapons based on the speed. This ofcourse needs to accound for multi-shot inherent to some weapons, but I think in general the less attempts a weapon gets (due to speed) at applying status per unit time, the higher base status should be to compensate for that.

  7. These changes were part of one package. I don't really see them nerfing arcanes one week, reworking status the next and a month later adjusting armor scaling. If anything I apreciate the scale of the changes that DE can push out. I really hope they continue the balancing for the betterement of the game even if it causes some short term discomfort to some people who relly too much on the meta.

  8. I agree saryn needs nerf, but she is a damage frame. I think for me something true to concept of Saryn would be to have her spores not kill enemies, but strip them of armor and leave them with like 10% hp. And definitelly have a LoS on her 4th.

So she should be about severelly crippling enemies, but still require the "finishing touch" to actually deliver a killing blow. And having LoS on a nuke will make her more in line with Warframes like Ember after rework who are powerfull, but not stupidly overpowered.

Big plus also for spores not killing enemies is that Saryn will be more of a team player since other frames will get a chance of killing the enemy and it is important for some frames that depend on actually getting kills for them to work.

The fact that someone else can hijack your ship and extract everyone before you have even so much as picked up upgrades and Avionics is an insult to people who earn their way through the game.

Your argument goes both way though, loitering 10-15 minutes in a mission after it is done is also kind of crap for people who want to go play next mission. It's no different to relic runs, when you get a guy who is opening every locker, checking every room and breaking every container, while the rest of the team just want their relic open and is waiting for that one person at extraction, thank god that we can force the extraction in that way.

Also in the current state of the Rail Jack there is a benefit for being able to force an extraction. It happenend to me as a host of RJ mission, that I've got stuck in the void just as as I was entering a Crewship via slinhshot while it blew up, and if it wasn't for ability to force extraction, my team and myself would have failed a mission and have gotten nothing for our efforts.

I agree with you that ideally we should have an individual extraction available at all stages of the game.

Yes i am saying to put a step towards to old system but that does not have to be a bad thing, what is the point of going further into an endless mission if there is no reward increase then we should just totally remove lvl scaling cause what is the point ?

Right now there isn't much of a point going further other than being one of the people who just likes that. And that is fine the way it is.

besides your tell me what is the difference between doing a capture/sabotage/mobile defense solo or with team ? there is litrally nothing but some times they do make u wait for the m for extraction nothing else considering how strong tenno gear is.

Well you answered your own question there, the problem is power creep. And the answer to that is making content more challenging. But for the life of me I don't see a reason for it having to take an hour to get to that stage. As I said better to have more challenging missions from a get go rather than to having to slog through hour of trivial content to get to the good part. The game is designed to be played in bite sized chunks and it should stay that way.

for a long time now poeple have been asking for a system that has rewars for effort for example if u go 1h into survival u won't get more rewards than if u were to play same surival 3 times till 20 minute even though the mission will be harder

This is one of the reason why the relic system was introduced in the first place. You are basically asking that we go back to the tower key system we had before relics. Good luck getting a team if you were not ready to commit for 1-2 hours, with mandatory gear and meta team compositions. Much rather have a set of missions that start of harder and have a better reward that having rewards increase if going beyon typical 4 rotations that we have now.

My Rhino build: Redirection(10), Fast Deflection(9), (both on Vazarin slots for 10 total) ,Vitality(7), Gladiator Resolve(6), Gladiator Aegis(7). Also loot radar and sprint speed for 18 points, negating the aura bonus. So even without an aura, with the right weapon, there's no reason you shouldn't survive it. Just follow my philosophy: Carry a big stick, and when in doubt, spam heavy slam.

It has been a long time since I've been where you are so I'm not sure if you Rhino build is the way it is because you still lack necessary resources/mods or understanding of how Rhino works. But his iron skin scales with armor and power strength, I would suggest that instead of deflection and redirection and vitality, you stick Steel Fiber, Intensify, armored agility and gladiator aegis and if you have any other power increasing mods on the Rhino. (basically as much armor and power strength as you can) My mission runner Rhino right now has 8k hp Iron Skin right out of the box. This isn't an optimal build since you can get alot better values, but my rhino is there for me to get through mission fast without requiring any kind of s setup, and there aren't many things on starchart that can chew through the 8k Iron Skin fast.

  13. Apparently only host is able to see the healing spheres created by Crewships in Veil Missions.

I was kind off frustrated joining missions in veil region because of the seemingly random healing of the enemies. That is untill I went there with my own Railjack and was actually able to see the spheres and also shoot and destroy them.

So the above is definitelly a bug.

Without knowing what the actual intent of DE is, im not sure if the following is also a bug. But it feels like one:

The enemy ships seems to have healing applied to them even if they haven't actually went through the sphere, being in the vicinity is apparently enough.

Also the frequency with which these bubbles are deployed is excessive, and turns Railjack piloting into a game of a whack-a-mole.

Theoretically, a no life can farm dozens of Arcane Energize sets in 1 day if the time gate is removed entirely.

I was going to point out that that would be insane, and assuming you can do a 6x3 in 50 minutes would mean 173 tridolong a day, with average haul of 8.7 Arcane energizes, but then I remembered there are also people who watch Ayaya for 10 hours live on stream, so never mind that. But I would say that such issue could be easily solved by introducing a daily cap on the number of runs (as one potential solution). I never really intended to imply that access to eidolons should be entirelly unlimited.

  15. 2 hours ago, DrivaMain said:

For example Rank 3 Arcane Energize used to cost 8000 (800 platinum for unranked) platinum during the trial missions era, now it’s less than 2000 platinum (200 platinum or lower for unranked). You can see the arcanes already devalued significantly here.

This isn't really bad though. Lower price but higher volume, and as a bonus with more people having access to the arcanes you'll be spreading the plat from trading to larger volume of people too, instead of that plat being stockpiled by the elite few. I can't really see that as negative.

I agree that the night/day cycle of Cetus is pretty annoying. The option to drop in during whichever one you want would be an extremely welcome change.

I have faith in DE doing the best thing for their players. There is plenty of precedent for that in the game.

The removal of platinum cost on revives.

The switch from tower keys to the relics system (amittedly controversial to some people) ultimatelly improved on a bad system.

The introduction of the nightwave. The previous alert system was not good, there were times where I spent whole weekends checking warframe alert tracker every half an hour for any alerts containign nitain/vauban parts/auras.

I don't view eidolon time gate any more different, it's not a good system and it is better off changed.

no offense dude but use a webclock... https://clockofeidolon.com/ use that and adapt, the gamemode itself is properly done you basically work your time table around it just like everyone else, still 1 hour 30 mins? study 1 hour 30 mins, or go to the store, take a bath, order your room, take a nap and take that time out frmo sleeping time do usefull stuff and come back for teaming in time, and believe me i have hunted aprox more than 500 times and i can handle a job and living alone while having what i have, its doable

Nope, I refuse to schedule my personal life around a video game. What you are prepared to accept or can or can't do has little relevance on what I am prepared to accept. I find the situation not ok. Can you imagine a situation, where you are sitting watching a netflix show with a gf, and in a middle of an episode you pause it, leave your partner hanging a go play warframe because it is night in planes of eidolon. How ludicrous is that? Look if you are a lemming, be a lemming, that does not mean that the rest of us just have to put up with a crappy situation.

i have already gone over how powerful arcanes are, in another topic with someone complaining about "time gate" and i think you just made this as a new post, to try make some kind of recognition, instead of just replying to that topic, which was on the FIRST page.

The previous topic in my interpretation was centered about the elitism and toxicity arising from the time gating, mine has a different theme. A simple issue with convenience.

And I haven't seen much in your arguments that I would agree with and they are full of passive-aggressive thinly veiled personal attacks. Oh and I think you are just shamelessly self-promoting.

  19. I've played a few free to play games, and the issue here is more general. There is a group of people who consider not paying a single cent for a game they play a badge of honor, same as people who pirate the games and always invent one or the other reason to justify this. Any comment made to those people about supporting the game or devs will often be interpreted as comming from someone considering themselves superior, vain etc, etc. I mean best way to hide your own moral degeneration is to besmirch someone else. (p.s. if you want in on the drama, the upcomming borderlands 3 and the whole epic store thing should prove entertaining, as well as recent review bombings of the Switch exclusive titles by the PS4 players just for them being Switch exlusive.)

I can't really relate to your experience, but I haven't dusted off my excal prime since forever. Mostly because he is ugly AF and no amount of fashion frame fixes it and the second reason is Umbra. It should stay exclusive though, a promise is a promise.

you do realize how selfish this is?
so many people can do this in 1-2-3 45min runs, but you expect the game to revolve around YOUR play time?

send DE your list of demands and time schedule, so they can adjust the game accordingly.

Way of point. I don't expect game to revolve around my playing time, I expect the content of the game to be available to me at whatevere the time I chose to play. As for having daily limit on hunts, having an unlimited access is fine for me. Either way I would say there is just as large group of people who wouldn't hit even that cap.

Login, do the sortie, do a hunt or two. Maybe run couple relics or an arbitration. Log out. Nothing wrong with that.

And remember: *You've been playing for an hour. Remember to take a break* and chill.

The player didn't have a point at all.

Thats your opinion ofcourse, something that, it seems, is not shared by the devs. I personally don't care much for PvP in WF, I get my PvPing fix in games like world of warships and team fortress, but I do care about Warframe in general and want the game to be what it was from day one: a chill experience that you could play at your own leisure be it for half hour, hour or a whole day. And I would like not to be penalized for not being there on the dot for the start of the night in the planes of eidolon, because I chose to go to a gym that day. I appologize in advance for having a life.

Also if you want DE to change things, complain on twitter like that R3 conclave player did on the unimed usability with conclave. It seems like DE actually check there to listen to the really vocal minority

Unless that player had a good point ofcourse. I mean if you care about PvP, having a feature itroduced that allows players to essentially bypass it, thus potentially nailing the last nail in the coffin for that game mode. I could see where that player might be comming from and why DE has reconsidered their initial choice. DE should ofcourse work on improving PvP if they intend to keep it in the game.

Because asking for it to become extremely more convenient and also asking for you to have endless access to the rewards is too much.

Oh I don't care about having endless access. If it is limited to like 5 tridolons a day, it's basically moot point for people with limited time.
