  1.

I am definitely allowed, willing, and able to continue the discussion, but without official released and finalized info I can only really do just that – discuss and relay. After the next Prime Access is released on PC, we can definitely talk about concerns and feedback before the PS4 release, because we’ll know what’s in the packs.

In regards to the forums, I’ve been talking with the rest of our Community Team about the issues raised by PS4 players. I have been focusing more time on PS4 subforums (as some of you have noticed) and I will gladly continue to do so.

We know it is frustrating to see weekly updates on PC and then be stuck waiting for something new on PS4 (we have PS4’s at home/work and go through it too). The surprise and mystery of new events can be spoiled for PS4 because PC has already been there and done that in their respective threads. One of the reasons why we bundle several updates into a single PS4 build is because we can’t rifle off updates to Sony. We can’t send a build every week and bog down the certification process. We aim to send polished and packaged builds that can be certified quickly and efficiently. The pace at which we can update on PC is somewhat of a double-edged sword – yes, content comes out quicker, but there is also more fixing required. Neither system is perfect, but we are doing our best to make them work for our players within the tools we have on each platform.

So basically it seems like your saying PS4 will never be caught up with PC........

  2. If we get anything, we should have a chance to get Excalibur Prime again.  Before it was only exclusive for Founder Packs, but can't they make an update for you to get it with a Void Key just the other Prime blueprints?  I say this as a late coming player (starting at update 12) and a main user of the Excalibur Warframe, but it's only right to give the Warframe you start with a Prime form and give everyone a chance to obtain it through hard word work like any other blueprint.

That would be STUPID. It was a FOUNDER pack for people that helped start the game. PC players should be the only ones to have him.

  3. While I don't agree with a totally different set of powers (After all the regular one is supposedly based on the Prime one), having one specific power with a little something extra would be nice.

For example, I could use a rhino prime without a stomp and have Radial Blast back, no stopping power but spammable.

If you watch dev streams, you would know they are thinking about neutral tenno powers. That are equipable to all frames.
  4. if you 'prime' the primes, then the excal 'issue' will grow to a chorus.  As it is, anyone with enough effort can get any and all the prime frames now - so making the primes a little better (soft stats like speed, stamina and such) is fine - but as long as people cannot get those frames, it will become a major sore point as it already is.

Excalibur was a founders program only. It's completely understandable that we won't have him. But if it was a frame that both versions should have I could see that becoming a problem. I don't see DE doing that ever anyways so that isn't an issue.

I was reading another thread about building Primes in the Orokin Lab (sadly the thread was more of a begging thread than a constructive thread, but whatever) and reading some of the posts about how it would be "impossible" to manufacture them, which is why we have the Tenno weapons, lesser version of the Primes, as well as the non-Prime warframes which are basically Tenno version/flawed reproduction of the original Primes. I started to think about why we couldn't reproduce the raw power of the Prime weapons while our Tenno version of the Prime warframes are basically the exact same (more or less) but less shiny...

I think Lore-wise it would make sense if the Primes were more different than their non-Prime versions, such as a slightly different skill set, the problem, i think, is that it would most likely create a major balancing issue as they would need to be, logically, better than the non-Primes. DE already struggles to keep the game kinda balanced and the community is more and more ridiculously obsessed by that.

I am not a game designer so i don't really want to try and think of a solution/way to make it possible, however, in my humble opinion, i think it would introduce way too much problems right now, as much as i like the idea (this would be amazing), DE should work on the current warframes rather than working on new sets of skills for the Primes.

DE Does have a lot on their plate as it is, and this would definitely be a huge thing to implement, but I wasn't saying that this would be implemented soon or anything near it. I'm just throwing the idea out there that I think Primes should honestly be different somehow.

  5. Primes don't need to be stronger they can be different, hey could serve slightly different purposes as their modern counterparts.

Exactly my point. I'm not saying make them OP to hell and everyone just rapes with them. I'm saying add a dynamic to the game that wasn't there before. Or even things that didn't make it to the game from original ideas that were not able to make the regular frames.

All the Prime weapons were improved yes, but the gameplay remains the same. Burston was a little bit slow for me, the recoil a bit too strong; but the Burston Prime is faster, more accurate, and just feels more powerful. However, it still does the exact same thing, just better. The Glaive was incredibly slow traveling and rather tedious to use, but the Glaive Prime is faster and far more deadly. The stats between the two are identical, but the Glaive Prime is superior because of how it handles.

Of course, with Warframes, it's far harder to change how a frame feels to play, which is why I suppose they gave Primo the speed increase (While also leaving other Primes in the dust, in more ways than one). The easiest way to change how a warframe feels when playing is "...through the use of mods." (Thank you Lotus). Hence the extra polarities (Which are not present on all frames >.>), which allow for easier modding

There's so much you can do with the current warframes in terms of playstyle by just adjusting your mods. For example, a Warcry focused Valkyr versus a Hysteria one. Or a Radial Disarm Loki versus permastealth. Or just putting Rage, Rush, and all sorts of other niche mods on your warframe for a completely different experience.

    ~

If you're really for having Prime Warframes be superior to the originals, why not have the Primes have 2 additional mod slots? Because for me at least, the problem isn't having enough mod energy to equip mods, but rather not having enough space to put them on.

     "...through the use of mods."

As you yourself said through the use of mods, so if that were to happen WHY would I waste time getting a prime when it's cheaper AND easier to just forma the base warframe? You don't need primes to get more polarities. Where is the originality in primes ? When they're supposed to be the original tech that warframes are founded on.

I'm not for having primes being OP. Or superior in the way you think. I want them different. Period. They shouldn't just be reskinned originals. Different abilities to add different gameplay styles for a frames theme that you might like. Or even as you said adding mod space on them would even be different. All I'm saying is primes shouldn't be what they are now, they should be different not just skins.

  6. While I do think Primes should be more powerful variants of the original, I realize it would do horrors to the already tenuous balance in the game. Rhino Prime is straight up superior to Rhino, and the reason people aren't moaning too badly about it is because Rhino alone is already extremely powerful regardless.

Prime Warframes should just be a little reward for more veteran players who have the skill and patience to farm all those Void missions to build them. If anything, base stat buffs are as far as I'm willing to go, as long as they're in line with the frame itself. Which is why I heavily disagree with Primo's speed buff, since it's basically removing his few downsides (As if the Vanguard helmet didn't do that enough). They should be buffing the strengths while keeping the weaknesses, not removing the weaknesses so it's all strength.

Maybe in the future, when DE is tired of making new warframes without infringing on the old ones, they can consider the possibility of making Prime versions entirely different versions of the original, but for now it's practically impossible to do with so many other problems they have (Like making the warframes themselves balanced with each other).

Also it took them this long to make stances for Melee 2.0, making unique Prime skills would mean Warframe 2.0; literally.

I'm not saying to remove weaknesses either. I'm saying as far as end "game content" this doesn't scale more than being "I have primes now". That's stupid. I see that they did increase rhino's movement speed, and yes that's headed in the right direction but I don't want something that I already have. That's what primes are, something you already have that looks a little different. I'm saying to change the way they play entirely. THAT would be end game content. I understand creating new skills etc. would be terrible and painstaking. But in the long run it would be a lot better than what it is now. It would definitely be more rewarding for players, would follow lore better seeing as how Orokin technology is supposed to be superior, and I would be more inclined to buy prime access packs as they would be released.

"The term Prime refers to any weapon or warframe made with Orokin technology. The weapons and warframes the Tenno use are based on the Orokin's designs; but are not actually Orokin tech."

Look at all the prime weapons released. They were IMPROVED. In some way, shape, or form. Giving an extra forma slot and a different look to a warframe does not improve them whatsoever.

  7. Primes are mostly there for the swag factor, the most damaging stat and the hardest one to mod for.

Ember Prime is the most beautiful frame in the game for me.

Mag Prime has the most...unique helmet, and still gets very nice gold bits

Rhino Prime gets his golden Iron Skin (Which is the most important part, otherwise you couldn't tell the difference because Iron Skin is up 24/7), and faster speed

Admittedly, Frost Prime and Excalibur Prime are lacking, but nothing adding more gold couldn't fix. Sadly, it doesn't seem likely.

I understand all of this already.

You missed the point of this post.

  8. Primes tend to better in skins then their counterpart. Thats why i like them

This is true but don't you think frames using lost technology that is way more advanced than the current frames (according to lore) should be stronger and better, not just aesthetically pleasing ?

EDIT: Don't quote me on the lore part lol, all I know is everyone in the tenno universe isn't trying to get orokin tech JUST to be sexy.

  9. you are the voice of reason (no sarcasm) any prime can be "made" with forma from a regular version, except the stupid rhino speed buff, and what is even worse is that they make the regular version obsolete or viceversa because owning one is owning both practically.

Exactly lol, the only good thing primes are here for at the moment is for their contribution to the mastery rank exp. That's the way I see primes. And slightly cosmetically altered but that's about it.

  10. I think they should redo primes to have different ability sets than the original frame, they're PRIME. how can they be the ame exact thing when they use different, more advanced tech. I think it's funny honestly, that all that is changed is a polarity or two. If you want it that bad then forma the original frame. There you go, you have a "Prime". I understand that this is probably already talked about, and that this is asking for A LOT out of DE, but seriously the work and effort put into obtaining these frames and also the price of them (Should you be buying Prime Access) does not justify a polarity slot, or VERY minimal changed to the frames stats that you can barely notice. Any thoughts on this ?

  12. - Oberon's Reckoning causes item drops/orbs to drop "into" the floor making some unobtainable unless you have the carrier sentinel of course.

    - Shield/Armor/Health stats are not showing changes when an appropriate mod is equipped to any warframe.

    - There are several cases of lag spikes and framerate drops. Overall lag is next to none, however these spikes can be due to Oberon using reckoning? Although even on other warframes this problem has been present.

    - Oberon's Reckoning skill will sometimes miss targets completely that are within range.

    - Oberon's Smite skill does not activate sometimes even if target is directly in your crosshairs.

These are all problems that other people and myself have been having.

I will keep this updated if new bugs or problems arise.
