Oh, see, that would have been good to know before I made a dork of myself posting this thing. Still, it would be nice to see in the future, I'd like to be able to actually do damage with Loki.

So, a friend of mine made a suggestion that I rather like, as far as warframes and their abilities go. When playing, we get drops for certain abilities from other frames, which...honestly sort of doesn't make sense. I mean, when you only have one of an ability for one of your frames, it won't let you sell it, so aside from combining them there doesn't seem to be a point. Why not, instead, have new powers for warframes that already exist.
Example. Power A for excaliber, Slash Dash, is a 25 energy ability that lets you zip forward and damage everything in your path. What if you could find a different Power A, such as a spin attack, or a damage/speed boost for melee and running? Same for Loki, switch teleport lets you swap places with an enemy, what if you found an ability that lets you just teleport behind them and silently do a stealth kill? That may work better for Ash, but the point is the same, this would allow a deeper level of customization to your frames, instead of just leveling up the powers they have to begin with when some of them don't even get used by players by and large.
Think about it.

Considering this is actually a thread dedicated to update 12.4, chances are that when U13 comes it'll get its own thread.

I actually asked one of the Devs, they don't really know either. Speculation is that it's play-testing, to make sure things work the way they're supposed to, but that's conjecture at best. Also the best guess we have, but still.

So, I had an idea for a new warframe, semi-inspired by what I was hoping Vauban would be. He's touted as a trap master and granted, the shock-grenade is a wonderful trap, as is the bastille and vortex, but I was hoping for an engineer type class, as that's generally my favorite thing to play.
So I bring the suggestion, Armistace, the peace-keeper. A frame that, using research based on the infested and their mutations, can use syrum filled throwing knives to create ''peace keeping'' automated defenses.
General ideas for the skills are things like:
Power A: Create a stationary turret on any surface, fires a limited number of shots before either vaporizing or exploding, doing moderate damage in a small area. Vaporizing would be preferred to keep a basic, low energy skill from being over-powered.
Power B: Create a fortification, possibly have it reflect bullets and damage back on attacking enemies
Power C: Create a claymore mine that goes off based on proximity, shredding nearby enemies in a hail of pellets
Power D: Create a circular wall of cannons, possibly based on power A's turret, in a small radius around the area this skill is fired off in. Armistace is stuck in place while these cannons fire off their brief volley, doing major damage to all enemies in the line of fire.
I have sketches of this character, and will be coming back later to add them to this thread.
Thank you for your consideration!

What is this? The PS4 Union of players? You lads need to simmer down
For real. Besides which, DE has a HUGE fanbase on PC, and there's probably some kind of contractual obligation with Valve/Steam that means they have to do that first, much the way Bethesda was stuck putting all the DLC for Skyrim on Xbox first. There has got to be a good reason they keep putting this stuff on PC before even submitting it to cert for PS4, and speculating and getting all butthurt about it isn't going to help anything.

Yeah, I'm pretty curious about when we'll be getting U12 as well, I just checked out the Zephyr profile vid and I'm pretty ding dang excited.
I'd rather not wait another month though...

Crossplay has been canceled for the time being. The current plan is to release a future update that will allow PC players to copy a version of their account to PS4 (aka "Account Migration") but crossplay (PC and PS4 together) will not be happening, at least for the foreseeable future.
Mervelous, in the future.
-
Can we migrate accounts yet? I'm really looking forward to that.

I'm actually kind of with the guy who wanted a tutorial in the first couple of planets. The game, while easy enough to learn, isn't exactly intuitive and I'm getting tired of adding people to my clan just so I can teach them about how to do parkour and then adding them on the PS4 so I can party chat and explain how to do mods and upgrades and skills. The game needs a menu operation tutorial more than it needs new weapons and frames.
-
Regardless, it would be nice if they would at least release something, NDA or no.
-
I'm optomistically trusting DE for now, at least, that they have the update in cert and that it's not going through until after the new year. That is what I've gleaned from looking around and a little bit of what I've inferred from how tech support/corporate B.S. goes. If they ARE lying to us and saying it's the cert process, when they haven't submitted anything, I WILL want a refund on all the plat I've purchased and I'd like to delete my account. I wouldn't want to associate with a developer that lies to it's gamers and ignores one platform for another.
-
I...have faith in DE. I'm hoping that, by the end of January, they'll have both games up on the same version, and that the bridge will be built. Now, if they don't have it done by then, I WILL be disappointed, but they ARE trying their hardest I'm sure. At this point we know that the updates/software exists, so at this point it's more that Sony is holding things up with their certification. While DE can't say anything about it out loud, I'm almost positive that at this point they are as frustrated that they can't get us all together sooner as we are.
We just have to wait, watch, and maybe write a few nasty letters to sony/playstation customer service and make a few phone calls to try and speed things up.

Yeah, I got it from an alert after I finished...Mercury? I think? I've had it a while, and it took a LOT of fusion cores to fill it up. But it was so worht it, I think the thing boosted my upgrade points too, I put it on and got a few extra, which was weird...
-
They're also adding melee tracking in U11, if I'm not mistaken, so that'll make the melee...different? I don't know if it'll be an improvement, since I'm used to finding my own targets as opposed to meleeing the first thing in range, and this may mess up anyone who uses the Glaive, but it'll definitely change a few thigns, that's for bloody sure.

Hey, on the topic of wether or not you need a PS+ account to play, you don't. A friend came over and set up a psn account on my system without a code for plus, and when I came back to the room she had been thrown into an online mission with three other guys. So you do NOT need plus to play here.
-
I can guarantee that it is indeed in this game, I got it myself and so far I've managed to max it out in fusion. Also got a few nightmare mods, too, the alerts are alive and well.
-
Awesome, cuz I was playing this on PC before the PS4 came out, and I'd rathe rjust stick with the 4, it controls better, but I want my Frost and Wyrm to make defense missions easier.
-
Oh cool, this answered a question I wanted to post about. Will the answer appear here at some point then? Or will that be in the updates news in a different forum.
-
I was a little annoyed I couldn't bring my PC profile over to the PS4, to be perfectly honest...Unless that's a thing I can do and I didn't know how...?

I'd like that too, man. We could use a little attention, really looking forward to the Serro.
