  1. Credit sink mechanic its there to remove credits from players and to gamble at a chance for something they want. Plus some mods are currently only obtainable through transmutation.

     

    It perfectly fine for what it is

  2. charged damage is its own base damage it is only increased by killing blow, rending strike, and corrupt charge.

     

    Elemental damage on charges attacks scales to base charge damage not base weapon damage so on a gallatine or glaive/kestrel who never use anything but charged attacks you can forgo pressure point and spoiled stike with no consequences

  3. New game modes are something we need desperately.  Unfortunately, the problem I have with your idea is that it's basically just old game modes stitched together as one operation.  That's not terribly interesting.

     

    More interesting than Invasion, at least.

     

    Oh i do agree it is the major weakness of the idea but it comes from two reasoning, its a raid concept so it should try to stitch together the existing concepts and a lack of knowing the true limits of the engine. Multi-phase might even be a bit much for the engine sadly, let alone sliding intelligence levels of enemies. Any totally new mode not related to any current mode I have when i stop to think about whats already programmed in the game gives me pause bc I am unsure of how possible it would even be with current limitations.

  4. I think this is a great idea, except for the reward mods being individualized. Mods with relatively narrow subsets are fine, like Thunderbolt for bows, the Boomerang mods, and Firestorm for the launchers, are fine because there is still some more general use.

     

    Quick thought, maybe some mods could be for Caster frames versus Warrior frames (frames with base 225 max vs 150 max)? There are plenty of ways to do some subset of mods specialized for this mission type without being too specific.

    The idea would be that they would only be obtainable through this mode and usable anywhere, sorry for the lack of clarification on that one. The idea would be since nightmare buffs 2 things, corrupted increases one and decreases one, that these would be targeted at specific weapons/sentinal/warframe so as to prevent overlap with nightmare and corrupted rather than replace them

  5. Rough idea just wanted to put my mind to use to think of an end game alternative to just Survival and Defense.

     

    Basic Concept: An all out assault available only after each node on the planet has already been completed by the Host. Designed to add an end game alternative to Defense and Survival. Single mission split into multiple phases. For each phase a bonus objective will be offered completing will increase the final reward.

     

    Phase 1 Infiltrate: The deployed tenno are spread between 2 starting points if they are even numbered, if oddly numbered the map will generate with only 1 starting location.  Tenno would be dropped from drop ship off the outskirts of the enemy base due to Anti-Air Cannon fire. Phase 1 function in basic like a sabotage mission with a goal of destroy the Anti Air cannon each party if applicable will infiltrate and sabotage one AA cannon. Phase 1 is designed to encourage a more stealthy approach of infiltration (hence 2 starting points since its easier for small groups to maintain stealth). Tripping an alarm will bring abnormally high amounts of heavy unit reinforcement and the bonus objective will always be stealth related (set off no alarms, kill unaware enemies, ect ect). Phase one ends with the Tenno hacking the AA gun(s) and escaping to a landing pad where the drop ship will pick them up to the next phase.

     

    Phase 2 Cripple: This phase is runs similar to a mobile defense mission the Lotus will need you to secure at least 1 of 4 key points in order to progress to the next phase. The more points captured the more they effect the last 2 phases. One point is the security center, if captured will prevent alarms in all later phases. Second point type is power generator, disables static defenses in next phases. Third type is the armory which will reduce the number of heavy units that spawn in later phases. Final point is Communication system which will reduced enemy ai efficiency in later phases.  Unlike in Standard mobile defense each point will require a player not the lotus to hack the device and instead of the standard hack puzzle a more complicated and length series of puzzle will be presented with no time limit imposed. No player may hack more than one point so all 4 players must hack in order to secure all points. Bonuses come from capturing multiple points or performing well when hacking. After points are secure Tenno return to drop ship for carry to the next phase.

     

    Phase 3 Establish Beachhead: Tenno will drop from the air into an active fight. Mission functions like extermination first, survival second then defense at the end. First objective is to exterminate all enemies in the immediate area around the landing pod; amount of heavy units, traps, and powerful turrets are dependent on performance in phase 2. Then they must survive further assaults until additional supplies arrive between 5 or 10 minutes if alarms where disabled 5 if not 10. Lastly Tenno sympathizers (those ppl we been rescuing all this time) will land on the pad and began constructing static defenses such a turrets. After keeping them alive for some time the phase is over. Bonuses awarded for skill at protecting drones and speed clearing the pad.

     

    Phase 4 Total Annihilation: Functions like spy and assassination missions. First part will be to take explosives supplied by tenno sympathizers to each spot they designate. After all devices are planted they will detonate forcing the enemy into their last stand. They will withdraw the bulk of their forces to a defensible location where the planets boss (significantly buffed like 2-4x normal level since this is a high level raid type mission) lies in wait for their final showdown with the Tenno after being forced to retreat during the initial assassination mission. Amount of Traps, skill of enemy ai, amount of heavy units that spawn during boss fight, and alarms during spy portion of this mission are dependent on performance in phase 2. Bonus awarded from defeating boss without ppl going down, fast kill, and fast planting of bombs

     

    Estimated time to complete mission: 30-60minutes

     

    Recommended party: 4 end game players

     

    Reward structure: Raid mods designed specifically for this reward. These mods would be only works on a specific warframe/weapon/sentinel. One mod for each one of these items would be designed such as

     

    Increased Amperage : increases the stun duration caused by volts electrical abilities by 100/200/300%.

     

    1001 Plagues: Saryn’s Venom, Contagion, and Miasma always proc their status effect and every second have a 20/40/60%  to spread to 1/2/3 nearby unaffected enemies in 3/5/7m  this will allow them to reinfect enemies who the effect has worn off of

     

    A taste of dread: when Dread strikes an enemy weak point from stealth it causes all enemies in 3/6/9m to become paralyzed from fear for 1/2/3 seconds

     

    Ect Ect. Examples of what I meant not actual concepts for mods just wanted to show they are only usable on specific items

     

    Bonus objectives increase credits by 25/50/75/100% (number of phases bonus completed) and will award 1/2/3/4 (number of phases bonus objective completed) uncommon 5 fusion cores

  6. Ember is decent if you run her right. Overheat might seriously be one of the most over the top powers with the right mods shame its going away. I would say like i say in all games play the class you want to play. All classes are viable for most content but all but a couple experience falloff at a specific breaking point (25-30 mins in survival and wave 30+ in defense) at that point damage abilities pretty much stop being useful if they lack a CC or utility component. That's where overheat really begins to shine since it scales through any difficulty and your guns will make up vast majority of your damage at this point.

     

    That being said ember is very good for standard content and reasonable until patch 11.5 for upper level content since she needs less attention than many other frames for personal survivability. However, she lacks cc and utility which means there are better options for late game content but if you like playing ember, play ember. Having fun is most important in any game. I like ember particularly when heavily modded and after realizing she can use some powers while sliding into enemies making it easier to fireburst an area on the fly,

     

    Just like i enjoy playing volt and hes......yea......special, special is a word.

  7. Pull is better no doubt there are very few moments when crush is better and they are very specific. Pull on platform type defense maps like xini can pull enemies into oblivion no matter how powerful enabling teams that otherwise would struggle to go high in defense. Pull ragdolls which currently due to crush not doing its knockdown thing correctly (prob bug) makes it better CC in general. Pull being able to use on the fly without channel is also a huge advantage.

     

    That being said with strong focus in range (and lets be honest mag is a CC frame not a offensive caster so range and efficiency are much more useful than pumping damage) Crush can be used to hold an entire section of the map for a couple of seconds, though so could sound quake since banshee doesn't exactly do good damage in the first place outside of sonar which is more of a situational ability (bosses/high defense waves/30+ in survival), or to a lesser degree rhino stomp though overextend on that one causes problems bc potency effects his iron skin. Also, Vauban is a good alternative to crush since Bastille is cheaper and vortex if we could use it without crashing the game is better CC overall and makes enemies easy to bbq via ogris/torid/ignis.

     

    Though honestly both are good when you fleeting expertise and overextend them (i keep mine at just high enough to offset focuses bonus so it still does damage for when i don't need CC) combined with range helm. She has some of the most wonderfully efficient CC options in the game

  8. Just an idea I was kicking around my head that started with why is there only one female tank, then followed by Oberon is this Paladin concept why not an Anti-Oberon. So enjoy doubt it will be used but it was fun to kick around.

    Lore Description: Like Oberon this ancient warframe was thought to be a legend, nay hoped to be a legend by the Tenno. Unlike the other Tenno who slept countless years Maniae was assigned to guard the void from horrors far worse than the Sentients while the Tenno slept. Once a proud and gallant frontline leader over the countless years she became corrupted by the insanity that her extreme isolation brought her. The Tenno stumble upon her during their further explorations of the void after conquering the abomination that was Lephantis. In her time she took over an Orokin Science vessel that was abandoned in the void. From her bastion she continues her vigil and launches assaults from her corrupted stronghold.

     

    Physical Description:  Standing of average height by Tenno standards she wears a cloak and hood that obscures most of her features except for her face plate which appears distorted and constantly shifting.  Her hands appeared to be more like gauntlets except that they end at talon shaped fingers as oppose to normal fingers.

     

    Alternate Helmet 1 “The Shifting Void”: her hood pulled back and her face shrouded in an ever shifting mist still obscuring her features.  Increases Shields but reduces speed

     

    Alternate Helmet 2 “Corrupted Virtue”: Her helmet is revealed in all its horror. A once gallant full plate helmet marred with gashes, missing chunks which bleeds shifting mist. Increases her power potency but reduces maximum energy

     

    Power 1 “Corrupted Vision”: She whispers lie into the head of the enemy making it see things that are not really there making only her visible to her opponents.  Forces all enemies to focus in on her that are within 3/6/9/12 meters lasting 5/6/7/8 seconds.

     

    Animation has her raising her hand to where her mouth would be and unintelligible whispers play on the screen for sound. Duration and range mods modify this ability.

     

    Power 2 “Blessings of Madness”: she focuses her madness inward causing her to become immune to damage and crowd control until the ability expires. When it does expire she takes all damage that she had prevented while in this state, if this damage causes her to go down her bleed out state lasts 5/10/15/20% longer than normal increased by duration mods. Lasts 10/11/12/13 seconds increased by duration mods.

     

    Animation: she raises both her hands to her head and unintelligible whispers are heard.

     

    Power 3 “Pain is pleasure”: She spreads her madness to nearby allies causing them to feel unimaginable ecstasy when they receive pain. All allies  in 10/12/14/16 meters do  3/6/9/12% more damage each time they take more than 5% of their total health (shield + health) for 6/9/12/15 seconds. Range and durations affect power normally, potency mods increases the % of damage buff.

     

    Animation: She waves her hand and covers her allies in her ever shifting mist.

     

    Power 4 “Despair Unending”: She convinces her enemies that life is pointless and that they would be better off killing themselves. Enemies deal 500/1000/1500/2000 damage increased by potency mods to themselves in 3/5/7/9 meters increased by range mods. Enemies that survive are disoriented when the wave of madness passes and begin attack the nearest character friend or enemy for 5/6/7/8 seconds increased by duration mods.

     

    Animation: She points ahead and the word despair is heard by players the enemies have a swirling aura of distortion at their feet when affected by the second part of the ability

  9. Actually the melee and shield with technically e two different weapons. A two handed staff would still do all their original animations since the shield would be holstered on the back like the rifle does. Same with swords or glaive animations. Its just a blocking support weapon that compliments your melee, not rewrites your animations. Idunno about the pc but on ps4 the L2 aims down sights and slightly zooms in. It would do the same thing. And R2 fires, or in the shields case, deploy a med sized barrier.

     

    Problem with that design is that melee 2.0 in the livestream footage has already shown parry improvements which are easy and wont cause you to sacrifice a weapon for since its built into the weapons. If its deployable I could easily abuse that to the point they would have to nerf it into the ground to keep ppl from easy moding all content. Your channeled idea is essentially no different than slotting reflection and parrying which again connects to melee 2.0 changes or basically copies antimatter drop and absorb if it absorbs bullets then when you run out of ammo sends them back at the enemy which touches on powers overlap which is bad [particularly since absorb is a nuke ultimate.

     

    Its not a bad concept but its design would problematic. The fact that it touches on volts shield niche while not totally overlapping alone means either volt would need to have a power totally redesigned or it shouldn't be introduced bc its a redundancy with a power which are what is suppose to define frames from each other. (not a bad thing since volt needs love no doubt particularly when 11.5 hits and once again reduces his damage against a faction to tickling them.) Special mods would have to be introduced just for this weapon which means more dev resources and metadata needed.

     

    Again i like to concept but it leave a lot of work if done that way and has a large slew of potential unintended consequences. As a melee weapon set it thematically and game design makes more sense.

     

    An altered idea would be to have it either as deployable gear and last a few seconds like ammo restore (long enough to buy time not long enough to let an organized group annihilate all enemies and no mods to increase its power)

  10. I would take a mod slot any day over using rush. Serious terrible mod except in soloing with loki and ash cases. Though honestly both of his helmets are viable choices the penalty for vanguard is a joke. 99% of the time that penalty wont make a difference. Just like Nyx vespa helm the downside is so excessively small that it is totally negligible.

     

    My advice to OP is don't buy any frame. vabuan is an arguable exception since he is totally at the will of the alerts which is a ton of rng, will you be on at the time, do you have the node unlocked, is it the piece you need ect ect.

     

    Rhino I would argue is probably the second most powerful overall frame. Strong armor, strong health, strong shields, strong utilities abilities, multiple viable builds. I would argue nova might be better overall bc m prime at full power efficiency is ridiculously powerful and sadly nearly mandatory on high level survival and defense.

  11. melee 2.0 in 12 looks like it will make this theoretically possible. Since melee weapons in melee 2.0 are holstered and held like primaries and secondaries. Based on my understand one mouse button on pc will block and one will attack sooo i presume for us the aim down scope will be parry and fire will be attack. I don't see them doing sword and shield until melee 2.0 bc of the limitations on the current system of how melee operates.

     

     

    How long until update 12 on pc let alone us is anyone's guess though soon and it may change significantly before then

  12. If the PC players are to be believed he is mediocre. His damage type is radiation which owns against grineer heavy units but his abilities are lackluster. That said almost anything in this game is OP with the right mods and play style. I can easily see him being welcome in organized groups bc he brings healing orbs for frames that would rather use equilibrium over fleeting expertise bc they rely on duration abilities like vabaun, trinity, and valkyr. Unlike Our necromantic friend who can do the same he brings offense and support to the table where Nekros brings more support and less dakka. However, Nekros will still be my king of survival and mod hunting simply bc of his ability to pillage bodies

     

    That said I wish they would have added more utility to his first two abilities and made the health orbs drop regardless of kill the enemy for his nuke since damage on abilities falls off late game but until i get to play him can't make informed judgements just snap ones.

  13. -Get the corrupted mods Blind rage, Fleeting Expertise, Overextend, and Narrow minded from the derlicts as soon as possible these open up a lot of options for you.

     

    -If you play as trinity your main job in life is to get your blessing up as long as possible, continuity, narrow minded, and aura helm are pretty much the best investments if you plan on playing trinity as your main frame.

     

    - Forma is your friend never stop making them bc when you find a weapon you plan on using a lot you can easily spend 4 (sometimes more) of them just to make sure you can slot all your favorite mods

     

    -Serration, hornet strike, and point blank are the most useful mods for ranged weapons. They increase the base damage of the weapon which is the number used by elemental mods to determine their damage boost.

     

    -Galatine is unarguably the most powerful melee weapon but the glaive and kestrel can be very deadly if modded right.

     

    -Glaive and Kestrel are best used in Saryn's hands. Her contagion ability amps up melee damage to impressive heights with focus and blind range on. With the right mods she can Devastate even high level enemies, without having to keep in close range with them.

     

    -100% accuracy on a weapon can actually be a bad thing when dealing with large numbers of enemies a little kick combined with punch through will allow you to decimate waves of enemies without having to realign your attack.

     

    -Soma is a strong all around weapon. Other weapons are better in different circumstances but soma when modded right can deal with any individual threat just not necessarily as efficiently as another weapon would.

     

    -You can put 3 builds on your weapon. Use that to set up a build for each faction to save you time rather than switching mods you can just switch active build.

     

    -Buy warframe slots and weapon slots over everything with platinum. I highly recommend warframe slots that way you jump to the best frame for each situation.

     

    -Find a clan. This makes life easier

     

    -Help newbies they need love too

     

    -fuse the same mod into itself or use fusion cores don't waste resources on fusing anything else unless you want a huge fusion bill for a stunning lack of efficency

     

    -Have at least 1 Nekros on all survival missions. His desecrate will allow extra life support to drop

     

    -Nova for all her annoyance of being way too useful her m prime is almost mandatory for high level content due to their bullet sponginess. combine with Rhino's roar to amp up damage massively.

     

    -there are only 2 auras worth having E siphon and Rifle Amp. Rifle amp with a party full of it will drastically increase the damage you do and a group full of e siphon can keep a fleeting expertise rhino with infinite energy and can help keep trinities blessings coming all the time.

     

    -Stop spending hundreds of platinum to get rage and quick thinking you can see from future patch notes it gets fixed, not worth spending real money to abuse it for the moment

  14. Ignorance is wanting something out the disabled because you lost 25 minutes worth of gameplay. Take it as a loss and move on, dont &!$$ and moan cause your aol dial up cant handle the damage constantly coming from vortex.

    Internet speed has zero to do with this. My speed test is currently coming in 55.16 down and 5.68 up with 21ms ping factor in a variance of say 25% which is the standard ISP use to determine if you have slow browse or not (I hard wire ps4 in bc wireless is a terrible choice for gaming really) so at worse looking 41.37 down and 4.26 up. Minus whatever to reach the maximum sony is allowing on their network so that ppl with fast connections don't munch all the bandwidth. So yea inet speed sooooo not the problem as everyone has been telling you.

     

    It's a bug they happen and since disabling vortex is a bad idea everyone really needs to know its a bug and be made aware of what happens bc most players not going to go through the bug forums. Most players are going to be reasonable and not use a power that going to completely crash games bc it doesn't just happen to ppl around vabuans i have seen it crash ppl playing vabuan who didn't believe me when I told them it was bugged.

Speaking as one of the few players who refuses to slot vortex until the issue is fixed disabling it seems like an unlikely fix bc if they could hotfix like that they probably would have hotfixed in the fix for it already. Easiest fix is to actually use that news section on the starmap next to alerts to make a notice that vortex crashes games.

     

     

    Seriously though getting tired of losing lots of progress bc 25 minutes in a survival other vaubans get spam happy with vortex. Telling them to stop doesn't work any better than asking them not to bounce you for fun or lokis to troll you with switch teleport.

  16. I keep getting a "some content updates could not be downloaded from our servers.  Please restart Warframe to try again." error :(

     

    Hope that's not because I let the auto-PS4 download do its thing before starting up the game :x

    Same here. Was checking for reports of others before i tried deleting and redownloading the app. Since I am not the only one think i will wait a couple hours
