  1. It is possible that this is an old account that got bugged. That said MR =/= skill before people continue that argument. I have performed better at MR10 then some mr20s and if your going to say thats because they were relaxing thats no damned excuse given those same guys are in regional trashing anyone who isnt mr 15+ derailing discussions then calling people bad.

Until all MR tests are fixed and permanently so I will NOT be pushing past MR 10 on my console acc as it is beyond bs when my test fails due to a random edge case bug that DE cant quite catch.

^the point is not to normalize the behavior or the need for high resources.

sybear is a good example of this....too few complained about having too much of one resource, and DE's response is to give a mediocre weapon with high costs.  I would prefer to avoid something like this and have reasonable costs across the board.

Who are we really catering to with these high costs? the veteran players? players who are consistently on 24/7 every day? casual players?  It is really hard to tell, but I do not believe it is fair for players who cannot be on as often as other to be put at a disadvantage and forced to go through the method of endless farming for one weapon.  They make it too easy to cause burnout and give rewards that do not make people feel satisfied for putting in the time.

That is my opinion though......I have been around long enough to see these types of things happen over and over again...I would much more prefer doubling the occurrences of the nitain alert vs having it in the sortie rewards.

I think you missed the point i made prior to the quote you used. I know that there are historical examples already ingame of kneejerk reactions but the problem I forsee is that removing nitain off sorties at this point doesnt take into account future weapon releases. I am all for reducing the availability but as people like Katinka have made clear a sliding % scale or static % change to sorties at this point is potentially negative more then positive.

That being said I wish people instead of "REMOVE NITAIN NOW" as a response would come up with logical ideas that the community can discuss and thus give a better representation of though to DE and their team.

Try typing Warframe SFM (Source Film Maker) in google and check the images and see how you like them?

Hmm I am wary of the SFM models as I am unsure how compatible they may be with Unreal 4. Not to mention that I am still unsure if those would be legal to use. As the first reply stated I am able to avoid most legal issues when I dont monetize but I want to be crystal clear as to what limits there are before I get started.

I will check out the SFM models in the mean time but until I can get a response from DE or a content creator who has knowledge I am unsure how to proceed short of continuing to make the areas and spaces I might use.

EDIT seems the SFM ones are just skinned GMOD player models? Not sure how that would translate to use in an engine like UE4. Might have to dig around a bit and see what I can find.

If Im aware, there are models of warframes in Valves Garry's Mod. As to legal matter - I dont know if it would be, since there are many channals that use warframe content in a miriad of ways. If you really want to be on the safe side, just dont monetize it.

True but are the models used fan made or ripped from the game? I want to be sure I do this right the entire way through and I dont know how legit the GMod ones are?

This kind of relates to what my frustrations in the market have been. I'll typically undersell a popular item if I'm going to because I'd like quick plat for it and I figure its' helping someone else rather than sitting in my inventory. So I might sell my old Nova parts for 30-50 plat, and then, inevitably, someone sends me a message about how crazy I must be to sell it that low, and don't I know what warframe market is, and blah blah blah.

Now, I don't know what other people do for employment, but for me 250ish platinum is a little less than one hour of work. I'm not willing to sit there for several *hours* spamming the trade chat trying to get someone to buy a Nova Prime dangle for 150 platinum when I could be spending that time playing the game. If I'm really hurting for Platinum I'll use my work money and buy some. I'm not interested in working during my playtime; I do enough of that all day. So you might be laughing at my low-ball offers, I might be laughing that you're willing to do all this menial labor for something like six dollars.

Point is, there's a lot of reasons people buy and sell for the prices they do, and ultimately there's no hard and fast rule to it either. Things are worth what people are willing to buy and sell them for, and that is always dependent on the person.

In the end if i understand your intent are you just not happy to try and help? While this IS an issue its not as common as I once thought thankfully.

I'm probably one of few traders who made quiet a decent amount of plat by selling items by demand - seeking WTB messages instead of spaming WTS which is not working 95% of the time.

I once sold spare Argon Scope i had for 250p to a demanding customer. Friend said that i'm insane - these things cost 400 and made slightly sad on missed oportunity, but you know what?

The guy told me i'm an awesome person for doing that. That counts for something in my book.

Thats what this game is about but the issue is when people are turning your 250p sale over to 350+ because they switch to another server to do it. That is not as common as it used to be and tbh I nearly did it myself but my personal issue is when you went and did the right thing by someone and that friend called you insane. You met the value someone was willing to pay on an obviously unneeded mod so you scored twice no?

And to the OP people like that are no worse then the people who WTS X and when you ask them their price either dont reply or say why dont you make an offer then rage at you when it isnt what they wanted and /ignore you for them being tools :(

  7. Given the nature it may not be posted in the correct thread but the idea to follow COULD be considered art but not the usual definition of Fan Art heh if that ends up being the case I must apologise and respect any mod move to another forum/subforum.

The short movie idea hit me after rewatching Red V Blue from the old Halo days. I was wondering though if there is a way to get legal (aka Digital Extremes permission in a required form) access to the models that could be used to make Unreal 4 movies? I have been making some terrains and was wondering if there was an model and texture asset pack available that could be used to create 10 minute shorts similar to the Red V Blue videos?

This would be a potentially great draw and while I have great experience in terrain making I wonder how far we could push it if DE were to get behind it. I also already have some script ideas in mind including the likes of Loki and Ivara arguing over whos better and a similar Nehza v Rhino script.

    Any thoughts guys?

  8. I am not sure how to respond to nested quotes but I will elaborate on the WoW/TERA remark you previously responded to.

    TL'DR

WoW and TERA died when community driven decisions were taken while not fully making efforts to take other steps prior. I dont want Warframe to go the way they did. Sorry this is NOT brief hard to be when relaying my fears and hopes.

Ok I referenced World of Warcraft and TERA given my experiences over the lifetimes of both games and it was to support my argument against a dev like DE making drastic kneejerk community fueled reactions.

WoW nerfed raiding to the point of irrelevance (Unless you spent your life on the game and minmaxed everything for mythic tier that got released end of an expansion that was 2/3 into the life of the game. The content in the original release required 40 people to engage and complete over the course of 2-5 hours depending on gear progression. It was hard and brutal and as such the last launch raid Naxxramas was raided by less then 15% of the population (keep in mind that at this point the peak subscription rate was MASSIVE in comparison to current levels) and Blizzard followed a general attitude that prevailed at that time it was too hard. Burning Crusade saw the first 25 man raids and while still hard they had to make mechanics behave more staticly until Karazhan hit and it had the first true RNG boss in Prince Malchezar. The issue that is relevant to Warframe is the majority of the momentum for that change which after BC pretty much killed endgame for me was the community yelled till blizz caved.

TERA BAMs were incredibly difficult monsters in specific sections of each zone and were related to the end quests in each zone. They had to be grouped for at the games launch and when I quit they had just been made soloable because the community was raging that people werent helping with low level ones anymore. Instead of creating incentives like Guild Wars 2 has for backtracking TERA BAMs got hardnerfed to the point of insanity. As with WoW the community voice was heard when people were loud but not offering legitimate counter points to the current systems.

A game that i mentioned just briefly is Guild Wars 2. You either liked it and are still playing or saw it and left. As I have no reliable net I would still be playing if I could so eh. To the point I want to make I go though. Guild Wars 2 is developed by Arenanet. This company has to my knowledge never EVER made insane decisions based on populist community ideas but has consumed the endless ideas provided and while most never made it into eithe Guild Wars there were many that did. My reason for mentioning this is that games that react rashly to community sentiment end up dead instead of growing. The reason Blizzard got lucky was simple, people had not been yet tainted by the "I want it instantly" issue. This was reflected in their initial designs and as time wound on that changed and for that reason most plainly described it wrecked that game.

You made several logical responses that I hope the devs see and act on as you made very fair and yet BALANCED replies. This is the sort of conversation that Warframe needs not the mob mentality that pervades most discussions ingame and on forum. I agree that people need to be given relevant rewards but the problem is there is no ideal 100% FOOLPROOF solution to please all. I worry that the situation mentioned above regarding i want it my way/easy has leeched into Warframe and I hope that Digital Extremes can reverse this somehow.

In the end the main issue for me regarding Endo/Nitain and other things being removed from sortie is that it wont solve the issue as the % drops would have to be refactored and for all we know that could put the rivens higher up towards the core and thus making it IMPOSSIBLE at this time to obtain.

Frankly, I don't care about it going somewhere else if taken from Sorties because I don't see a problem with it being on alerts.  Just like I don't think Vauban needs to be moved to somewhere farmable or the various alert only weapon blueprints or Auras (which are a far more important thing for a new player to get) or the alternate helmets (that are alert or Pt only).  It's not like Lenses, which some people want removed and would leave us with no way to get them.  Nitain is available if you keep an eye out and be patient.  I don't particualrly want scaling drops on so many things I don't want.  If I get lucky and get a Riven Mod or Lens then my chance of getting Nitain, Reactor, Forma Exilus Adaptor all go up?  No thanks, I have enough of those and can get them easier elsewhere if I really feel the need.  I run Sortie missions, a chain of three high level missions with additional conditions, for rewards I can't get elsewhere, not things so easy to come by that I already have more than I'll likely need for a long time.

If it absolutely has to go somewhere else then improve the drop rates on ship Sabotage caches as they were promoted as a way to get it but the chance is so low it might as well not be and the other rewards from those caches aren't going to draw people to those missions.  Daily Tribute could be another place to put it.  Apparently that already has systems in place to prevent us from getting Blueprints for weapons we don't need so I imagine that sytem could be adapted to include Nitain as a rare resource and when the Tribute comes up as 'Rare Resource' it could check what we need most and give us Nitain if we have less of it than, say, Orokin Cells, Neurodes or Neural Sensors.  As that system is already tailored to our inventories I think that could work and people wont be disappointed by it when it comes up anymore than they would've by the reare resource alternative rewards if they have that many.  Plus there wouldn't be that thing of doing high level missiosn with extra conditions just to get resources instead of the exclusive, unavailable elsewhere, rewards.

What I would really like to see would be the option to 'downgrade' Sortie rewards to anything higher up the list (so same rarity or lower).  As I've said, it's not just Nitain that I don't care for, it's everything from Nitain down until you reach Legendary Core (even that I don't care a lot about as it's pretty much just a large amount of Endo and Credits).  If I roll a Orokin Reactor (Rare) as my reward, I'd like to be able to opt to take a lower rarity item instead such a Lens (Uncommon) or Riven Mod (Common).  If this were to happen I'd still expect Lenses to be random rather than school of choice, but it would mean a Greater Lens of an undesired school could be swapped for a Lens for a second chance to get the school you want, which would be helpful for new players who haven't stockpiled Lenses from before.  There'd even be the option for people who have 15 Riven mods that they are happy with to swap a Riven Mod for 2000 Endo, instead of the current situation of dissolving the new veiled mod for 23 Endo.

Ok the lower tier option is fine UNTIL you get a situation where the rivens are utterly devalued. Thats the issue.

And I believe you missed the scaling reward point. Yes it would mean the other rewards raised in chance BUT it would also mean once you got them youd still have a higher chance of the riven or the like later.

I get that Nitain is an issue but MR5 players can access the TWW and sortie after if they are skilled removing nitain and endo from rewards is just forcing them to wait every few hours. Yes there are not many requirements in terms of what you can craft BUT we also do not know the future crafting requirements. This is the problem alot of people are ignoring and quite frankly any dev that caved to this sort of demand wouldnt be worth supporting as its a slippery slope. Warcraft and TERA 2 big examples. Warcraft was casualised and so was TERA. Raiding except for specific legion bosses is rubbish in Warcraft and TERA BAM farming got hammered and removed all real trace of a challenge.

A once a day RNG opportunity does not a farming spot make.  To be able to 'farm' it requires either a guaranteed reward (as per the current alerts) or repeatable chance to eventually beat the odds.  A low chance once a day from completing three high level missions with additional conditions/restrictions that you can only access after reaching the end of the starchart and completing The War Within is not a farming spot for new players.  It's about as far from such a thing as you can get.

In my opinion Nitain as a Sortie reward fails in it's objective to provide another source as it's too unreliable (or maybe even inaccessible) for the people who need it and too disappointing to those who don't (considering the effort required).

so removing them from sorties helps? how about instead of repeating the same old hashed up response how about we brainstorm some possible options?

Say we do have nitain removed from the sorties where would it go? Considering most of the weapons and frames that use them are half way through or higher including post TWW in terms of junctions or bosses to farm em we would need to either shift the nitain to junction rewards and force a player to choose a frame or weapon prior to the farming via alerts OR let them be on sorties and as i have said before if they had a scaling reward system similar to legendary drops in wow that originally were meant to have a higher chance to drop the longer you had not gained one would be a better option

An example would be a 10% drop on nitain and 5% on say the riven mod. after 5 runs the nitain remains the same but the % for the riven is now say 10% too. This percentage would rise until you got the more valuable drop and to prevent issues with it then being too easy to farm the rare items like the legendary core you would have the % reset at the next sortie.

Just to clarify this would be a shifting scale for the rare drops excluding the legendary core and the endo + nitain.

While I am too tired to do the math and find the theories relating to the formula for the WoW Legendary drops with Legion thats a start in that direction which would allow the nitain to remain while not screwing the dedicated players who dont need it.

so your saying remove nitain AND endo from sortie then what happens when they DO release a massive nitaint requirement weapon or prime frame or what ever it may be?

As I said in previous posts removing the nitain would only break the system further for new players. What I would like to see is a scaling chance as someone had mentioned in another thread regarding riven rewards. If you have 100 nitain you would have a lesser chance then someone who needed 5. While this is a theoretical possibility the coding could be phenomenal BUT while new players continue to join there just isnt the locations atm for them to farm Nitain for quite ALOT of gear including 2 of the best frames Nehza and Valkyr Prime (IMO ONLY NOT A GENERALISED REMARK THERE)

    NO thank you..

ps:this is my spare intain after crafting every foundry item.

So all the people who need it who are new or havent yet gotten the crafting done that requires it miss out for the benefit of a portion of the playerbase? Please dont say you would benefit because I am seriously sure if they did remove it off sorties the MINUTE they start releasing gear that needs it in the future people would be mad that it went back to the alert timer.

My really good friend is refusing to talk to me right now. LOL! ANNNND here's what I got directly after re-rolling the Paris mod that I bought... (wait for it...) A Dread mod from the Sortie! Out of the seven mods I've farmed, bought, and rolled I'd say that I have 2 that are useful and the rest are pretty much holes to throw Kuva into.

IMHO--it's fun not to have a guarantee in the game. Now we all get a chance at the "Primed Chamber" of the Panthera world. This system is fun to me and the idea that everyone should have a guaranteed shot at a +1 billon% Crit dmg Soma mod is just absurd to me. I've done tons of sorties and come out with 2k Endo. I might even be looking forward to the day that I get some Niatan--because "dat Vauban life" and having a dojo with pretty much only 2 members, well that makes things scarce. For the record, I think that there are more than a few people that remember when Piercing Caliber was commonly going for 800+ plat. Rivens make that an unnecessary expense for all but the people who are really going for that min/max build.  The point being, that Riven gives you a shot at getting an amazing mod, for your time no plat involved. Trade them, farm them, buy them cheap (if you must), lower your salt intake and maybe you'll get lucky. It's a free-to-play game, not a charity and I personally think that a system that introduces more variety and less non-stop Bursa farming is a pretty nice thing. Feel free to friend me. I think the the community is pretty great and that DE does a fantastic job, for the most part.

    I hear ya lol.

The one thing I have sadly noticed is many people on this game have that "I want it now" mentality and the problem for most MMO's no matter if its warframe or more traditional RPG types is the risk v reward has gone from gaming for the most part. Entitlement in gaming when people dont get the intricate balance involved sucks and its refreshing to see a different point of view.

  15. Not sure if this is a troll post or legit but as others have said ticket support but do include an approximate time that way they could potentially compare your usual play times? If that happened maybe they would restore. But I do have to ask how do you "delete" mods? That would be a metric ton of endo lol.

I'd say we can have a token system AND an RNG system. Much like we choose what a Riven mod's options are after a cycle, we could have a screen letting us choose; Tokens or Reward. This way, if we get lucky, we got lucky and 'yay, we win'. If we DON'T get lucky, we can put some work into getting what we actually want/need.

Say an extension of WoW;s daily currency system? Not bad but unsure how that would thematically work?

  17. This isn't a bad idea at all.

I have had multiple wasted boosters and while the intent is to get people to pay plat there is a point where in particular if I purchase 2 lots of say the 7 day booster for affinity I want to use one upfront but then have the spare on those occasions when I need it but dont have the plat or cash on hand to get it.

I dont forsee any serious difficulty with this but as I am not a dev I cant say. One can hope though right?

  18. 10 minutes ago, Xekrin said:

DE would have to confirm but I'm guessing the kuva usage since its inception is in the millions by now.  So I'd have to say, yeah we need kuva that bad.  Individually though it is pretty subjective.  They gave us this new resource and this new mechanic to gather said resource, the least they could do if they expect us to use it is make progression more viable one way or another.

Lots of people see the operator being controlled as gimmicky and mostly pointless, but we still haven't a clue what further changes and mechanics are in store for us.  Specifically (hopefully) with focus abilities, operators and their role in the game.

In the meantime though, operators need to survive at least a bit better than they do now or it will ultimately come back to your question.  Once the newness wears off of riven mods people will start weighing the pros and cons of bothering with kuva.

damnit i missed this post heh.

  19. 18 minutes ago, Pendragon1951 said:

I agree as far as lore is concerned but from a practical point of view all the Operator is is a cool gimmick which in the broader sense of the game makes no sense to use if you have 20 or more other Warframes you can remotely control and stay out of harms way. And if Kuva is the only reason you need to actually use the Operator then the obvious question is do I really need Kuva that bad?

I can kinda see what you mean? I dont know honestly if your looking at it from a mechanical gameplay perspective then yes at present what they did with TWW and the operator is a gimmick. That said we are not privy to the plans for future updates. I can honestly say I forsee a game where the operator becomes much more then just the controller of the frames but something that as per lore thus far has grown beyond the frames. While this sounds counterintuitive at best it could open up some MASSIVE changes to the way the game is as well as potential mechanics that make the operator situation as it stands justified. Who knows time will tell.

I totally agree with you! I'm having a ton of fun with the RNG of it. I have a Daikyu mod that's on it's 5th re-roll and still garbage. A Gorgon mod that makes the gun more viable in end game and I LOVE that bullet spigot. That one only took me 1 re-roll to get. I bought a Paris mod that was garbage and ended up with a +186% Puncture, +190% crit chance, + 90% recoil 0_o after 1 re-roll. And a ton of other garbage ones that make me want to go grind Kuva. Now with the lvl 80-100 kuva missions I am amped to find a solid team and keep gambling!

Thank GODS for someone who actually gets the concept of the Riven Mod.

Based on what? The fact that there is absolutely no chance DE would if they are sane allow these mods in conclave? I dislike people saying something is broken when said thing takes a serious amount of effort and given the RNG nature it's even less likely you will see the particular stat roll you want.
