  1. Encountered a problem on Valefor, Europa. Went into the mission, spawned an excavator, but couldn't power it due to not a single power carrier spawning. This bug prevents the completion of the mission, and so should be rectified as soon as possible.

I encountered this on a corpus tileset, but I'm not sure if this bug has affected other factions.

  2. Woke up to find the Catalyst alert up on the tracker. Logged in, ran it with 14 mins left on the timer. During the mission, got the red text saying that the hotfix was complete. I had no idea it was going on, but after the red text says it's live, it's safe to exit the mission, right? I do so. It doesn't give me the BP.

Okay, well that's fine. Something's gone on with the login server. Whatever. I manage to hammer login fast enough to get back on with 7 minutes to spare on the alert. I run it again. Get to the end. No hotfix text this time!

    No BP.

    Kicked out to login screen.

Alert ends before I can log back in.

So I did the work twice over, and got absolutely nothing. I even went to the support site to issue a ticket, but my IP got blocked because I couldn't log in. This is my last place to report this.

Please, Rebecca, see this and rectify it please. Nobody likes doing work without getting paid for it.

  3. Latest news from DE: Work announced on a new F1 title by the game developer.

    Confirmed gameplay aspects:

-Added fuel to cars. Players must now take care with their speed or risk running out of fuel on the track.

-Fuel mods. Cars have two slots for a plethora of mods that allow you to customize your car as much as you want for a unique build. However, players may find it useful to equip the Fuel max + and Fuel regen mods. (Actually this is mandatory to complete a lap.)

-Tracks are 100 miles in length. All of them.

-Upon completing a race in first place players may receive new blueprints for extra cars! (Drop rate 0.00005%)

Yes, DE. You've corrupted one of the essential pillars of your game. In such a grindfest, being able to reduce the time spent running to the boss or getting to the objective is one of the few balms that soothes the pain of such tedium. By making that unviable, you've killed the appeal. Not only is Warframe now slipping into an already oversaturated genre of generic, slow-paced, cover-based shooters, but the game has its own problems in that grinding has no respite now. If you want to grind there is no way to speed up the process. Considering that this game is mostly about grinding, and that you added more grinding in the form of Derelict ships, this is lethal to your game.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again. If I wanted to play a generic shooter, I'd go and play it. It's not like there's any lack of those games, and ME3 is so ubiquitous that it's easily accessible to most players. No, I picked up Warframe to play as a space ninja going fast. Now that you've taken that away, I see no reason to play.

Good job, DE. I wish you all the luck in the future.

    You'll need it.

  4. Color me skeptical that 10% DR will make the difference between viability and worthlessness, considering how crazily high upper level enemy DPS is.

    Three reasons, really:

    1. It was a test in a vaguely "real world" situation, rather than simply letting them sit there and wail on me.

    2. Practically every Grineer mob except sawmen, their derivatives, and rollers is ranged, and literally every corpus mob is.

    3. If I wanted to shoot dudes from cover, I'd have run with Frost/Nyx. I like to run Rhino as a melee build for stylistic purposes. (Huge Rhino has huge axe! Rip and tear!) Unfortunately, the only way this playstyle was viable was IS, because otherwise Rhino is too slow to close the distance effectively, unlike Excal or Saryn.

Mainly that third one though. Sure I beat the rest of the mission by being ultracautious and just shooting everyone instead of the much more fun melee option, but it was basically playing like Frost or Excal there. In which case, I might as well run with either of those, because they do it better. Excal is so much more mobile, letting him get to cover and control enemy fire lanes much more effectively. Frost has snowglobe, letting him make cover wherever he wants.

In short, I don't want to have to play Warframe as a cover shooter, because as a cover shooter, it isn't very good compared to its competitors. If I want to $&*^ around with cover, I'd go back to Mass Effect 3's MP mode, because it has an actual cover system and is designed around cover. Instead, I play Warframe for awesome space ninja doing awesome things, which means a seamless blend of melee and ranged asskickery and not just run and gunning everything down.

This is unfortunately my suspicion as well. I see so many calls for the removal of movement methods and skills that it makes me think that the majority of people just want to turn this game into a cover based shooter. This isn't why I, and many other people, were attracted to this game. The removal of invincibility for frames makes me think that it's going to slow the pace of the game down a lot, to the point where the players will be forced to sit behind cover and suck their thumbs for a while until the red jam on their screens go away. I do hope that DE realise the unique selling point of this game soon and capitalize on it. Currently it seems to be heading towards ME3 multiplayer with some really bad wallrunning. I might as well go play GunZ.

  5. So why should anyone play Rhino anymore?

+Highest base armour in the game. Not the highest maximum, however. That belongs to Frost.

+Rhino Stomp. Great for stunlocking bosses. Needs a Trinity frame with you, however.

    -Slowest frame.

    -Sub par Slash Dash.

    -Nerfed invincibility ability.

-Radial Blast (needs a buff for the amount of energy it costs).

I'm afraid I'm just not going to touch Rhino anymore. For the positive aspects, other frames can do those better. If I need to tank anymore, I'll just go on Trinity. If I need to stunlock a boss, I'll bring Nyx for the hard stun from Mind Control at a much lower cost. In fact, plenty of other frames can do what Rhino does, and not sacrifice speed to do it.

No, Rhino really only had Iron Skin going for him, and after this nerf, I think you've taken away his worth. That Thrak helm is going to be gathering a lot of dust from now on...

  6. Yes I called your logic circular and self validating, because it simply is. Your entire post rotated and depended upon the assumption of me being a but hurt 12 year old child who "gets beat" (your words) because I'm apparently playing as a fast frame who gets speed envy of frosts and rhinos passing him with this expoit. What? Gets beat at what? Strawmen? Being Insincere?  WHAT are you talking about? What further dismantling do I need of your argument when it boils down to "dev created game mechanics are bad, so player discovered exploits are perfectly fine"??? ( just in case you missed it, that's a rhetorical question, because believe me, I really don't care about further entertaining you at this point)

Your argument has no merit or logical legs to stand on for me to dismantle it! And YOU ignored EVERY single point and example I made in my many posts in this thread, so save me your feigned moral discontent on a VIDEO GAME forum...good grief...you're either desperately trying to grab at straws defending your preference for infinite but sliding however you can, or you're simply trolling. Either case is really just sad. Hence why I said I'm done with you. If you take offense at that, guess what? I really don't care.

P.S.- and guess what? My favorite frame IS Frost, and I use the dual zoren with alternate skin ALL the time and I use this exploit EVERY single time I see others using it because it's the only way to keep up. I have no problems actually doing it, since apparently you and others think that I cannot and that out of some ridiculously stupid idea that I am envious I have created this thread. I made this thread because of the motives I put forward in the OP. Go read it again while you're at it.

Please quote where I called you a child.

I don't think you'll be able to, since I never did. Please stop making it out that you're being persecuted or mischaracterized. I've done nothing but provide potential logical justifications for your actions. I am also not annoyed by your posts, nor do I take offence at your posts. If you note the tone of my posts, you'll see that I've tried to remain neutral throughout. I cannot say the same for your posts.

If you don't understand the concept of insincerity or strawmen, that's not really my problem. I'm pretty sure I explained it in really basic terms, but at this stage I can only tell you to google these terms. I'm fairly confident they are used in common parlance.

What about my logic is actually wrong? It doesn't seem circular to me. You keep on using the term, but I don't think you know what it means. Circular would be something like:

    >X is true because Y is true.

    >Y is true because X is true.

What I've presented is a justification for the current state of the game.

    >The mechanics are bad.

    >Players find ways to fix that.

    >Such fixes are valid until the original mechanics are fixed by the devs, and the devs shouldn't remove the player-found fix until an alternate solution is provided.

    That is not circular.

And you do seem to have missed the first part of my first post. In that post, in addition to insinuating that you might be envious of players who have grasped the finer points of the movement system, I also painted a picture where there is a valid problem. The whole slow frame vs fun aspect. You have curiously neglected to address this in all of your posts with me.

If you wish to claim victory by ending the argument prematurely, I'm afraid I'll have to protest. Just because you walked away doesn't mean you get the moral or intellectual highground. You win by proving the points wrong.

I illustrated in my example that in the current state of the game without knifeskating slow frames are relegated to the back of the squad, doomed to not engage enemies since they have already been dispatched by faster frames. Please, tell me how your solution to remove knifeskating solves this problem? Or is it alright for slow frames to never engage enemies?

I reread your OP. It seems that your two biggest reasons for this entire thread are:

    1) It looks ridiculous.

    2) It invalidates the stamina mechanic.

Well, to number 1) -- That's a nice opinion you have there. Unfortunately it doesn't get to dictate how you affect everybody's gameplay. If you dislike the aesthetics of knifeskating, that's easily countered by someone else saying that they do like it. It's subjective.

To number 2) -- What is it that makes the Dev's original concept into gospel? If the players develop a new system that invalidates the dev's flawed mechanic, then power to them. That's called emergent gameplay. It has been talked about in this thread before, much to your disdain it seems. What is it about emergent gameplay that is so bad? I think it's a great synergy between players and devs to come to a comprimise. If anything, devs should adopt such popular mechanics into refined gameplay aspects. Would you be happy if the devs were to actually introduce legitimate knifeskating mechanics into the game?

Please take the time to read all of this post this time. There are some important points in here, and it'd do us both a disservice if you were to gloss over them.

  7. The only thing I'll respond to is this, because this is becoming an ad nauseam repetition.

When I said "remove", since you took issue with this specific word, it was obvious to me that I was not saying remove melee slide attacking. That would be preposterous, and accusing me of "moving the goal" or whatever is just ridiculous. I'm not here to argue with you, I have no interest in "winning" anything, be it an argument or internet cookies.

I came here to say that I believe an in game mechanic is being exploited, and that the ability to do it ad infinitum should be removed.

As I've said before, if you disagree, fine. But don't expect me to agree with you when you and other present nothing more than personal attacks and self validating logic.

And as a final note, before you feign such large offense at me not tackling your pages of comments I would consider well your own words, and calling people you don't know "children" and "whiners" among a bevy of other such wonderfully passive aggressive comments.

I have no further interest in arguing needlessly with you or anyone else. I won't be responding to you again because much like another user I have had negative experiences with, I continue to do nothing else but politely state my opinion and desire that what I believe to be an exploited in game mechanic be fixed, removed, what have you. And in return I keep receiving varying degrees of personal insults and circular or self validating logic.

As they say, we will have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I have to assume at this point that you didn't even read my post. I have explained quite clearly my position and you've assumed that I've taken a different argument. You've passed it all off as "circular or self validating logic." You've assumed that I've attacked your character. I invite you to reread my post and actually respond to my points one by one. To do what you've just done is to create a strawman -- to attack, or in this case dismiss, an argument that doesn't exist.

If you don't wish to argue with me in this manner, fine, but it does show your insincerity when you're unwilling to consider alternative points of view. If you truly wish to convince others, read their arguments, dismantle them and explain why they're wrong. Please don't just dismiss things out of hand. It makes you look like a troll.

  8. I find it quite rude that you aren't actually willing to address my points one by one, but I shall extend to you that courtesy.

Look dude, you and others are reacting so irrationally to a very simple point.

I don't believe I'm acting irrationally. I've explained in my (admittedly) rather lengthy post that there is a rationale to leaving the helicoptering (knifeskating) in the game. That is rational behaviour.

And so far the only two forms of rebuttal I've seen on here are personal attacks and some backwards logic that "since mods/stamina/sprint etc is not good, it's ok to use this exploit".

I think you've slightly mischaracterized my argument here, and I'm rather offended that you didn't take the time to quote me to say exactly what I do argue. I said that there is disparity between the frame speeds and that it breeds a style of gameplay that is not fun for slower frames. As a result of this players come up with their own solutions, and removing them isn't necessarily the correct solution, even if it does invalidate the sprint mods. All that the players that use the 'exploit' want is for there to be less of a gap between the frames. Knifeskating closes that gap and therefore shouldn't be removed.

A valid alternative suggestion would be to leave it to the devs to come up with an alternate solution BEFORE removing the player-invented movement methods.

Neither of these two cases validate anything. And writing treatises on how I and others who agree supposedly suck, or "got beat" (lol srsly?) really doesn't accomplish anything except inserting a wall 'o text just for the sake of it.

I make arguments as long as they need to be to get my point across. Please do not characterise my arguments as being "walls o' text just for the sake of it."

If you disagree with my opinion, that's fine. But your (and others) complete lack to do anything but attack me personally and offer circular flawed logic really doesn't make any sense.

I've made this example before. But by the logic you and a few others have put forward, if I think ammo mods/systems are flawed then I am totally justified in using a button sequence that lets me skip reloading.

There are two points here to address. Firstly, since we're talking about flawed logic, you neglected to mention my analagous argument using your own logic. Taking wallrunnning out of the game is justified using your logic.

Secondly, yes. I would agree that if there is a button sequence that is easily accessible in the game as part of the mechanics that allows you to skip reloading, you would be totally justified in using it. As it stands the sequence is currently Q > click ammo box. Such a mechanic is already in the game and is perfectly legal.

The one thing I can understand and agree with you is that I didn't address the problem of why people are using this, which would be to assume that there is something wrong with the current method of traversing space. I didn't adress this because to me there is no problem with it. There is slow running, sprinting, wall running, slide jumping etc and to me they are fine.

Well, gee. That's a nice opinion you have there. However, the evidence paints a different story.

If there were no problems with the movement system, people would not feel that they have to resort to exploits. There would not be threads about how buggy the sliding and stairs are.

Once the devs deal with this, then perhaps removal of some of the exploits should be considered. Until then, the underlying cause of the exploitation will not be dealt with.

That's really what I've been saying. It's unfortunate that some people have misinterpreted my op as to say "take out melee sliding" when I specifically added it in there saying that's not what I was saying.

I just meant to tune it so that this feature can't be exploited. If there was a feature of wall running that let you wall run forever I wouldn't say "eliminate wall running", I would say (as I am here) FIX it.

Ok, I had to include this post in my rebuttal to point out how you're changing the goalposts.

The title of this thread is: "Please Remove The New Version Of Wave Dashing."

    >Remove

So you say that you wouldn't want an exploit to be removed, just fixed, but your thread calls for the removal of an exploit.

    You're not being consistent.

  9. What really annoys me about these kinds of topics is that the OPs usually have not considered two really important aspects of the subject that they are addressing: The cause behind the behaviour and the consequences of the change.

Please ask this question, "Why do people use this 'exploit?'"

Let us imagine a perfectly likely scenario. A Rhino arrives in a game and is joined by a Loki. The Loki frame has a much higher sprint speed than the Rhino. As a result, the Loki frame tears away ahead of the Rhino and races into the distance. The Rhino tries to chase the Loki to the objective and then to the extraction point. Along the way he never fires his gun once -- There's no enemies for him to fight. The Loki has engaged them first with his superior speed and dispatched them effortlessly. He arrives at extraction with 5 seconds on the timer. It's just him and the Loki in the game, so the timer started as soon as the Loki entered the extraction zone. He barely made it by the skin of his teeth. He gets into his jelly mold to the jeering snipes of the Loki frame, who in the lobby points out his abysmal kill score. The Rhino quits the session.

    Is this fun?

Games are about having fun. In a game like Warframe, the unique fun comes from fighting enemies in your own style with your own frame with your own weapons. You level them. You put effort into them. You customize them the way you want to.

So how much fun did the Rhino have?

If the fun comes from all of the above, then the Rhino didn't get to have any fun at all. The Loki denied his fun by simply being fast.

This is a perfectly plausible situation, that I daresay a lot of people have actually encountered before. So what is the solution?

For an inventive player, looking for ways around such problems comes naturally. When such a player sees that Dual Zorens can improve their overall speed to the point where they can catch up to the Loki, they wouldn't hesitate to jump at the chance to level the playing field. Such an action is natural if the goal is to have fun. Eliminate the disparity between frames and the fun balance is restored as well.

That is why wavedashing and helicoptering are NECESSARY.

In an environment where there is a need for speed, such a boost is required to actually level the playing field.

And so what do you suggest, OP?

What are the consequences of your suggestion?

By removing the tools that restore the balance, you once again relegate slower frames to the back of the group. It doesn't matter if they can spring off walls. If they manage to beat you, you'll complain and have it removed. Literally that is your argument.

Rhino comes up with a wallrun route that allows him to overtake faster frames such as Loki or Ash.

Rhino should not be faster than Loki or Ash.

That is not the developer's intention and it negates the use of sprint mods.

    Therefore wallrunning should be removed.

Is this not your exact reasoning?

So, what are the consequences of your logic?

-Slower frames are not entitled to fun. They should be slower than fast frames and not have a chance to engage the enemy.

-Any movement mechanics that allow slow frames to catch up should be removed from the game in order to preserve the validity of sprint mods.

    It sounds ridiculous, I know.

    That's because it is.

    This whole topic is STUPID.

You make it sound as if these people have added something to the game that wasn't in there before. Have you considered that they have access to the same tools that you do? Have you tried to wavedash or helicopter yourself?

    Have you failed?

I'm starting to suspect you have. For why else would someone take such offense to others overtaking them on a slow frame? Is it a problem to see a Frost whirling past you and leaving you behind, even after you put all those fusion cores into your own rush and marathon mods? Do you feel cheated -- that despite all your effort, someone found a better solution?

This may all be conjecture, but if I may summarize, just in case you are in this position that I have characterized:

    Deal with it.

You got beat. Too bad. Learn to get good.

This is not your personal game. If you can point out why this actually impedes gameplay for the majority of people, then I'm sure the devs would probably consider your proposal. But if you're complaining because you feel cheated because someone is better than you, then grow up.

You may have realised that I'm a player that uses his Dual Ether swords to maximum effect. I use the sliding slash extensively for offensive and movement capabilities. I see this as an advantage to my play style. Do you realise that you can do the exact same thing? I didn't need any macros or hacks.

    I played the game.

I suggest you do the same.

Instead of whining on the forums because you got overtaken, go back into the game, pick up some Dual Ether Swords and slap a fury mod on them. Start practicing.

I can guarantee you that you'll have more fun that way than arguing on these forums.

  10. Just to show how ridiculous DE's idea is, here is a screenshot of the final upgrade stage of Hornet Strike.

    VvR73N8.jpg

Obviously, such a mod is very desirable on any sidearm, and as such it takes a lot of effort to upgrade it to maximum. However, under the proposed system from DE, underclocking would DESTROY the equivalent of 482 Uncommon 5 fusion cores, and waste 1,768,200 credits that were expended in the final stage of the prior fusion process. In addition to this, if the player wanted to reupgrade their mod to the final level again, they would have to use the same number of ingredients and credits again. In total, to underclock ONE mod by ONE level and then upgrade it again, the player would have to have expended 964 Uncommon 5 fusion cores and 3,535,400 credits.

    Is this reasonable?

    Is this feasible?

    Is this fair?

Is it right to force the player to refarm to such ridiculous extents in order to regain what they had already achieved? I don't know about anybody else, but being forced to do this wouldn't make me play more -- it'd make me play less.

  11. I prefer this suggestion so very much over the solution suggested by DE in the livestream. Who would ever underclock their mods if it destroys the resources? If you're underclocking from max level to simply one level down, you'd have to invest all that money again -- not a feasible solution for certain mods such as Serration.

I understand that DE want to encourage players to keep playing, and so creating reasons for resource farming is a good idea. However, taking away something that the player has earned before is a fantastic way to frustrate them. The player has done all the hard work once already in upgrading their mods with a huge quantity of fusion cores and credits. Why should they do that again?

Even if it is voluntary, who would choose to create more work for themselves that way? I could only really see DE's solution as being viable for really low level mods. If it's not viable for all mods, why implement it at all? Nobody would use it for anything meaningful.

  12. As far as I can tell, all these experiences (which I have had happen to me on multiple occasions myself) all have one thing in common: Slopes.

Every time I get one of these issues it seems to be because the game engine has issues detecting the absolute vertical height of the player on non-flat terrain. It is my belief that this is also the root cause of the glitch where a player is unable to use abilities and receives the message, "Cannot use ability in air." Certain abilities and actions cannot be performed when the player's height is not 0. This includes jumping, running and the acrobatic movement skills.

It seems to me that the player model has difficulty in following terrain exactly when it changes height. This is why stairs are such a nightmare sometimes. It's also easy to see this complication in very bumpy areas such as the Grineer asteroid. Try sliding and hammering the jump button. If it responds, good for you, your character was "flat". It will not respond sometimes when you are on a slope and the game registers you in "mid-air".

I speak from a position of very limited experience with game engines, however, and so welcome any other viewpoints on this issue. Either way, I think the resolution of this gameplay problem would go a long way to improving the feel of the game. Sharper registry of player position would make the acrobatic elements of the game easier to perform and thus provide a gameplay experience that is quite unique in the shooter genre. Here's hoping DE takes note of this issue and fixes it with as much expediency as they have shown in the past with their hotfixes.

  13. The quote i used for his introductions should show that i did get the joke.... if you didn't get that quote. I am just saying that this idea has the opportunity to actually be turned into something.

You think I didn't get the quote? Might I direct you to the post that I made before you, here:

I approve of this kind of lighthearted, humourous boss! The concept is great, and I love your illustration.

Surely he should appear after you've killed his father, saying:

"My name is Derf Anyo. You killed my father, prepare to die."

The point I'm making is that in keeping with the lightheartedness of this concept, he should also be a weak boss. It's no good if you are actually afraid to fight this guy. It should be a welcome visitation, not a horrific ordeal. That's why I think he shouldn't be a decent challenge.

  14. Only the Tenno have the ability to wield the Warframes and therefore the powers are exclusive to them as well i.e. no slash-dash, no Ash smoke bomb for Derf...not saying he couldn't use Corpus' teleporting system.

Well that's why his slash dash fails and kills his own teammates. He has cheap knock-off abilities that don't work right. Also, >implying that he couldn't use actual smoke bombs instead of using Ash's ability. You know that smoke bombs are actual items that exist in real life, right? You don't need to be a Tenno to use them.

Chief Anyo is such a horrible boss that HE is already joke, his son doesnt need to be one. His son SHOULD be the serious fight

Maybe as an update to this encounter after you easily beat Anyo the son appears as a second boss fight. A cut scene introduces him and he says, "My name is Derf Anyo. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

His shields dont regenerate but he Stone Skin's when they are depleted for a period of time.

He he drops and active decoy so the player has to figure out the correct Anyo.

And he super jumps toward players landing with a melee strike.

I can't help but feel that you're kind of missing the joke. Yes, we all want big bosses that are actual challenges, but this is the joke version of the Stalker with a bit of tongue-in-cheek nerd humour mixed in. If you want a serious fight that chases you down in the levels, go and find the Stalker. I'm sure he'll give you a run for your money.

  15. Stat discussion aside, I actually quite like the idea of there being weapons that aren't available through purchasing in the market. It means that when you do get one, it's all that more special, and gives you the sense of being unique. I like that some things aren't solvable by throwing money at it. Warframe is one of the few f2p/microtransaction games that I can stomach because of this. There are advantages to having platinum to spend on the game, and there are advantages to those free-to-play gamers that put in enough effort. Both benefit in their own special ways. So, in summary, I don't think the Dark Sword should be in the market, nor should any of the other alert-only weapons. Yes, it's inconvenient for those who want the weapon RIGHT NOW, but that's the luck of the draw. No matter how much money you throw at it, you can't change that. I support DE in their decision to make the current system how it is now. It's not perfect, but it does say something unique.

  16. Thanks for the great updates, but there are some updates here that make no sense.

    - Aborting missions now forfeits any obtained credits, mods, resources or blueprints, earned XP is still rewarded

    - Fix slide exploit: velocity boost from slide is on a cool down to prevent macroing.

I've had glitches and issues and bugs and internet interruptions with this game, where I am either forced to abort, or force the entire game to close. Since this new rule is instated, I will now lose my hard earned credits, mods, resources and blueprints, because my I was forced to stop in the middle of a mission? How is this fair? I understand you are trying to stop people from going to the boss, getting the blueprint for the Cronus and leaving, but why? Why are you going to screw over EVERYONE for some trivial little exploit, that one, you fixed with the Cronus only dropping 100 % and the credits being scaled to level. Two, I DOESN'T EVEN MATTER. This isn't a competitive game. Who cares if people are making a little extra money farming a map? This is a co-op game and it really doesn't hurt anyone, while making all of us lose our benefits hurts everyone who plays this game.

The slide exploit... again, this game isn't even competitive...it doesn't matter, no one cares. You're scaling away something that doesn't make someone a god amongst men and kill all the enemies. Everyone can do it, so it wasn't only for a select few. It only makes moving faster.

There is also one other change that I noticed. Either I missed it in this update post, or it was a prior update. It is the change where you are unable to join the game session of someone who has already completed the objective. All this is doing is making it so that I can no longer play with my friends. I don't understand the need to make a strictly 4 player co-op LESS accessible to playing with my friends. I decided to play this game for co-op, not to solo. There have always been connection issues with this beta, and now I am not able to play co-op with my friends when I want to? I even started a mission and did absolutely nothing and they were unable to join me because: "Mission objective has already been completed", when I had yet to start. Now I'm being forced to solo a game that I endorsed for co-operative game play.

I ask myself why I decided to help found this game. The only answer, is that it was fun. The above changes you guys made are making the game less fun and more tedious. You are changing things that didn't make the game unbalanced or less fair for other players. You are sapping the fun out of this game. I don't understand, why you guys are going out of you way to make this game more frustrating, less fun and harder to play with friends.

+1 from me. You sum up my feelings quite well in your last paragraph.

  17. I'm not DE_Steve but I can absolutely emphasize the community's standpoint on this to the team.

Thank you, DE_Rebecca. I hope we can expect a response from the team soon as to what is to be done about this whole situation. Just keeping us informed like this is why DE is a company I can get behind. I hope for a solution that will appease all of us.

  18. DE_Steve please answer us. So many people have complained about this change to failure/aborting and we've heard nothing from you either way. This has the potential to kill a lot of the fun found in doing defence missions and is a huge point of contention.

I've got to say that I personally am starting to wonder if it's worth me even playing online now. If there's the chance that I'll lose out on my rewards because of other people, I just won't bother.

Hell, I'm wondering if it's even worth playing the game at all!

Please give us some sign that you're considering the ramifications of this update. You've been doing so well in communicating with the community, it'd be a shame for you to let us down now.

(Additionally, I'd also like to ask you to try playing a Rhino in a group with a Loki with max sprint mod without wavedashing and see how fun it is. Wavedashing was a necessary exploit for many of the slower frames to feel useful or to get any kills. If you actually play the game and see how decidedly rubbish it is to be lagging behind everyone else now that you have nerfed the slide cooldown, I'm sure you'd agree that it needs a fix.)

  19. OK, they mean you lose your loot if you ABORT a mission, not if you FAIL a mission.

That seems fair enough. I never intentionally abort, unless real life pulls me out of the game. People shouldn't be rushing to bosses and quitting after the fight.

I'm sure that's what they intended, but the actual reality is that everybody gets punished for any kind of mission failure. Whether it is because of a bad host, bad connection, griefer or any number of uncontrollable reasons, or even for the sheer audacity of not wanting to play anymore because you have a life to get to, you lose EVERYTHING.

It's not fair to punish players like this for events that may be out of their hands. Why should anyone risk doing endless defence anymore? Why bother risking failure past wave 10, or even wave 5? This kind of decision is poison for any kind of cooperative play. If there's a significant chance that your teammates will let you down, people won't play with random strangers. It's simply not economical.

And what of all the bugs that people have cited in this thread? Some missions are literally impossible to complete due to some unforseen circumstances in level generation. Is it fair to have to give up your rare multishot mod that you've spent the better part of this afternoon looking for and finally found because an enemy is stuck under the floor?

This update has some serious problems, and I'd like to see them at least rolled back if not hotfixed soon. Don't punish players for failure. Only punish them for exploiting. Don't throw out the whole crop just because of a few bad apples.

(Although I'd like to see the return of wavedashing so that my Rhino and Frost can finally catch up with Lokis. Seriously. Sometimes it's not feasible to equip sprint mods, and even if it is, you still can't keep up with some of the faster frames. Exploits like this were found out of necessity. Don't remove them unless you provide an alternative.)
